Stopped here on the way to the ski resorts and had a great time. Just 2 blocks from the 16th st pedestrian mall with lots of restaurant options. Joaquin at the front desk gave us a warm welcome and was very helpful. They offer complimentary wine tasting 4-6 PM and whiskey/Amaro from 8-10 in their cozy lobby with a fire place. Only downside was the main elevator was being serviced so had to use the service elevator, but luckily it wasn't too busy. You can pay for valet parking or self park at nearby garages.

Note from engineering about a/c units.

I have stayed at many IHG properties to earn Diamond status. This is by far the worst and most exp property I have stayed at to date. My husband and I are full-time caregivers to a bed ridden parent along with our full time careers. So we decided to spurge and stay at a lux boutique style hotel. I think we paid around $300 a night after trading in some points. Regular price for our king executive suite was around $4-450 per night. When checking in it was pointed out that I had used points for the stay. But in a manner like I had my room comped. Or something. Made me feel less than. Blake could have been nicer. We walked into our room. It was very spacious and nicely appointed. But it was hot and muggy. The a/c was off. So. I turned it on. After 2-3 hours, the room was still pretty warm. So I texted the front desk to ask for two fans. One for each large room. They said no problem and that they would let engineering know. Housekeeping brought up a small desk fan. That would just have to do. We received a note from the engineer that the units are old, they need replaced, nothing they could do. Even if we moved to another room. Probably would not be better. So we stayed. See attached photo of note. The pillows go completely flat when you lay on them. Even stacked up. The mattress is worn out. Gets thin when you lay on it and you can feel the springs. There is also black mold in the bathroom. Not sure why that hasn't just been bleached and cleaned. problem solved. The bathroom linens were frayed and thin. The elevators also went out while we were there for the last two days. There was a service elevator where you had to walk through the staff areas of a restaurant to get to it. Very weird. The signs telling us about this issue were worn so it must happen regularly. I don't understand how a hotel brand such aa this let's it hotel become so run down. I have stayed at $80-90 a night hotels that were better. I did reply to a text message from Hannah asking to rate my stay to that point. I said 3. She asked me to explain my review. I provided all this feedback minus the black mold. Forgot to include it. Zero response. 99% of the time we stay at Holiday Inn Express and Suites. Great hotel. Nice linens. Pillows. Best mattress. How can a company like IHG operate a lower scale brand so much better than a much higher brand hotel like Kimpton. So sad. I will not stay at this brand hotel again.

Stayed here for a conference and truly the staff made the experience. Extremely kind and accommodating. If not for that, I think I would've had more to say but, they can only do so much. Loved the wine happy hour daily, coffee/tea bar in the morning, and the late night cap. Definitely a hipster like hotel, nice lobby, but what I noticed was a weird smell. I noticed the same in my actual room- reminded me a bit of a dirty diaper. I sprayed Lysol and even asked for air freshener which they kindly provided but, it never really went away. The elevators were down, so you had to go through the hotel restaurant, pass the hostess desk to the service elevator to get to your room. Kind of a bummer considering this is NOT a cheap hotel. I had higher expectations for a Kimpton hotel accommodations wise but, the staff is top tier. A nice renovation would make this hotel.

I'm surprised this has 4 stars tbh. Came here for a board meeting so I thought it was going to be nice. That, and the price $570 for 2 nights. When you walk in through the automatic doors you can see bowls set out for dogs bc the hotel is pet friendly. But it smells like feces in that area and throughout the lobby. I brought it up during check in and the front desk teen blamed it on roadwork outside. But it did not smell at all when we pulled up for valet. (Valet was funny too--was like "well get out of your car what are you waiting for" type vibes. $20-80 for overnight. Paid $20 for 15 minutes tops. This is because we ended up seeing the room and going back down to request a refund to stay somewhere else. Ripped carpet, chipping paint, worn down furniture. There is a downtown Denver Hyatt that was cheaper $460 and much better quality.

Great hotel, service, staff, and restaurant. Came for the night and was immediately greeted by the valet. They helped with all my bags, took the car, and helped me into the hotel. Front desk was ready for my arrival and got me into my room quickly. The massive windows and super HIGH ceilings made the room feel grand! Loved it! At the end of the night I hung my room service order on the door for the next morning. The food did arrive a little unexpected. It was in bags and not on a cart like most hotels do. Either way, the food was still good and as ordered. It also arrived on time. Gym was kinda lame. Bunch of cardio machines. Heaviest dumbbell was 35lbs.

Water and moisture damage where the trim had to be taken off of the rooms

I thought I was doing us all a favor by going for a Kimpton hotel during my girl getaway in Denver but I was wrong. A busted water pipe and damage to the floors above us several days ago - and we were not informed via email or anything about it. We walked into the damage and a ill informed letter (see photo) with not any concessions or transparency that we should probably find another place to stay. Instead we were all in a version of Get Out where all the staff acted like nothing was wrong and they would stay there if they could- but they didn't and don't want to. I am quite sure I was exposed to mold and bacteria of which did not help that I also got sick with a respiratory infection after staying here and coming home within three days. This was a bad show all around and the happy hour could not help. I don't know what conditions the others are used to that were staying in this hotel, but hunny that is not how I roll. And I will make sure never to roll the dice at a Kimpton Monaco again!

I've stayed in Kimpton hotels before and they've always exceeded my expectations. Thought I'd be in for a nice stay at the Kimpton Monaco but I was wrong. As other reviews have claimed, the lobby does indeed smell like sewage. 3 out of the 4 elevators are still not working. The hallway leading to my room had peeling wallpaper with no baseboards. And solo women beware, the door in your hotel room has no physical latching lock. So yes, people with a key can come in with no secondary lock in place... and they did! Bright and early, housecleaning barged on in. Also worth noting, the bathroom was not clean. Mold could be found in the shower's tile grout and it was evident the toilet was not cleaned. Really regret spending my weekend away at this decaying hotel.

The fan I had to use so that I could keep a little cool..

Really nice hotel just off 16th street, great location for seeing downtown Denver. Room was nice, but the room was a little small.

We loved the ambiance, feeling like we'd really discovered a gem off the beaten track, pun intended. By joining the club, it was a monthly excuse to plan a special night out to what became one of our favorite places for date night. It's been a couple of years now, but we had occassion to meet the owners, when we mistook their closing time for an hour later. The lights were still on, so we didn't realize our mistake, until they'd already invited us in to exchange our monthly growler with such warmth. Super nice people, reflecting the vibe we always felt on our other visits. The staff echoes that disposition, always friendly and knowledgeable. Though the winery isn't on-site, I've always been impressed with their tasting experience. I've now been a member for over 5 years, going in at least once a month, and they still suggest trying seasonal options and have broadened my palette... Though my ex and I have parted ways for a long while now and he moved away, he's kept our membership current, calling it my "alimony," and a nod to remembering the good times we had together. I recommend Bigsby's for all the good memories for all the folks, be it a lazy summer afternoon on the patio or a cozy evening in the lounge area with a glass of red when it's cold outside!

Then when he did acknowledge me and I stated I would sit at the bar, it took several minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. The staff was busy speaking to each other and doing side work. Once I was acknowledged, things started getting a little better. When I arrived during breakfast/brunch, I was informed they were in the middle of a menu change, so my choices were limited. Breakfast items include bacon and burritos. I started off with a charcuterie board (though I had asked for a fromage board). This was not only because I wanted some tasty cheese, but I was trying to kill time until the lunch/dinner menu started. The board was a great board, two different meats, three cheeses, a loaf of bread, some nuts and jellies. But it was 40 dollars! I had a few small plates (which was still a lot of food). I had a melon and cucumber salad, which was a good palate cleanser. I also had the roasted king mushrooms, which were underwhelming with no seasoning, and they were a little chewy. The best thing was the wild boar meatballs, which were seasoned really well and in a savory, delicious marinara sauce. All the cocktails were fruity (but not sweet) and refreshing. I had one that was carrot based (Kiss my Carrot with tequila, cointreau, carrot, orange, and ginger), one that had pineapple flavor (paper boat with rum, falernum, aperol, lemon, pineapple), and the smoky smoke and flower (hibiscus mezcal, cointreau, pama, rose water). This spot is a winery, so they have a large wine list. They have handhelds like burgers and flatbreads. Starters like artichoke dip and bruschetta. Some of the current entrees, which might change, are hanger steak, chilean salmon, cauliflower steak. They had a gnocchi dish I was interested in, but it's already been removed from the menu. The restaurant is classy and just like a winery is expected to be. The food is pretty good. But the service was really subpar.

The house band played from 7 to 8:10, took a break, and then came back and played another song. It was 8:25 before anyone was invited to join. The jam was advertised to go to 9 so it wasn't much of a jam opportunity. Also, the they decided to squeeze the band into a little spot in the walkway that was in the middle of all the vaping. They can't/won't cut in half. Ok, whatever. I don't understand what the big deal is, they obviously posses knives... just cut them instead of saying "no". So stupid. 20ish Minutes after waiting, the person who took my order said it would be 30 minutes to make. Which was weird cause what was going on for the last 20 minutes? 30 minutes to wait is fine, if you don't waste the 20 mins prior resulting in about an hour wait. So, I declined as now we are talking an hour to get 20 simple breakfast burritos. Someone came to refund my sale and then preceded to kind of scold me for not ordering in advance. He said something about for an order like 20 burritos they want 2 days heads up. GTF outta here. It's freaking burritos. You don't need 2 days to make 20 burritos. And here's the thing, I'm not here for a lecture because I attempted to give YOU business. And I won't be back, either. When you get a customer to purchase your goods, be happy. Provide them the goods. Make it as soon as you can. Don't say no for no reason. Don't make anyone feel bad for trying to give you business. 3.5 Stars…read more After waiting nearly three months for Denver's hottest reservation, my group of four were underwhelmed by our dining experience. The Good: The food itself was lovely. Fantastic flavors. Beautiful plating. If basing our review on the food alone--five stars. The Bad: Despite having been in their space for months by now, the ambiance was not there. The staff kept turning on and off the food heat lamps, which were so bright that the light level in the entire space vacillated between dark and sultry to too brightly light all night. The temperature was absolutely arctic. Multiple groups had to ask for their coats from coat check before one of the waitstaff said he looked at the heating. He made adjustments, which did increase the temperature of the room from arctic to chilly--but it remained unacceptably cold. Pacing of courses was oddly timed. The waitstaff couldn't seem to strike a good balance between casual and fine dining--it was a little awkward at times. The Bad: Despite placing our wine flight orders twice, with two different waitstaff, they forgot to give us our drinks until we asked. By then, we'd missed two of the pairings. They did offer to serve us the remaining pairings at no cost, which was a nice gesture. But, it's wild that something like this happened in a place with 16 seats and 4 waitstaff--they missed out on $400 in alcohol sales because of this error. The meal was explained to our group as a "ten course" experience. We only received nine courses: 1. The venison "hamburger" 2. Cappuccino 3. Roasted apple 4. Crudo/sashimi 5. Scallop 6. Lobster 7. Venison skewer 8. Duck leg 9. Dessert This feels like an egregious oversight. And, based on what we overheard from the table next to us--almost felt deliberately misleading. The wine pairing is plainly described in the menu as "five pairings." As dessert was brought out, the table next to us inquired about the remaining pairings, as they'd only received 4 pairings up to that point. The waitstaff tried blaming it on the fact that "dessert wine is polarizing" and "we over poured the other pairings," but those are weak excuses. If you're not going to offer the full 5 pairing flight as advertised, that needs to be communicated ahead of time. Overall: With a price point, including wine flight (had that worked out), per person of nearly $325--The Guest had too many substantial misses. While the food may be ready for prime time, the service is leagues behind.

The Guest, located inside The Regular, is a full dining experience rather than a traditional…read morerestaurant, and it's a strong addition to the Denver food scene. This is a timed, coursed dinner where the entire room sits and eats together, so arriving on time is essential. The format creates a restaurant wide dinner party feel, which sets the tone for the night. Everything feels intentional, from the pacing to the service to the design of the space. The menu changes often and is never repeated, which makes the experience feel special and creative rather than formulaic. Standout dishes for me included the duck doughnut, the wood ear French toast, the venison burger, and the leek cappuccino. The kanpachi crudo and scallop with tamarind were also beautifully balanced, and desserts like Cash's Apple and The Sphere were thoughtful finishes rather than an afterthought. One of the more memorable details was the menu book at the end of the night, featuring the chef's original sketches of the dishes. It's a small touch that really reinforces how personal and considered the experience is. If you're looking for a unique, chef driven tasting experience that feels cohesive and well executed, this is absolutely worth a reservation.
