Continental breakfast - fresh berries daily. Dirty fork is mine because no knife available to cut the eggs
    Frances B.

The best part of this stay were probably the staff who were very helpful and always seemed genuinely positive. The room was sumptuous. The bed was good quality and most people would probably love the firmness (I prefer it a bit softer than most people). The linens were lovely, as were the towels. The bathrobes were the softest and nicest I've ever put on. The drapes were able to completely block light, which made for lovely sleeping and the windows were thick enough to mostly block out city street noise - only the occasional ambulance siren could be heard. The walls were quite thick so I never heard any other guests. The quiet was much appreciated. If it were cheaper, I'd simply rave about it. However, for the price, I guess I expected perfection. Here are my small grievances: The heat was unable to go above 72F. While typically I wanted it at 70F, which was possible, I did try to bring it up to 74F once, which didn't work, despite the engineer looking at it. The continental breakfast was fresh, but the carbs were all sweet or chips. Since they provided lox, meats, cheeses, it would have been nice to have bread/toast/bagel to go with it. Hard boiled eggs were nice, but no knife provided to cut them, nor salt & pepper. No oatmeal, which occasionally is available at continental breakfasts. The plates provided were the size of tea saucers so a bagel chip could not fit on the plate with an orange at the same time. I called ahead to request a fridge in my room, but there were none available. They were able to put my leftovers in their fridge, but I would have preferred one in my room. The "complimentary" bourbon tasting from 5-7 expects a $10 tip, which seems steep to me, considering it's "complimentary" and considering there's no option to add a splash of water or ice. Even smaller gripe - water pressure on the 4th floor was lighter in the shower than I'd have liked. It was still a good temperature and it was enough pressure, but not amazing. I stayed here because it was close to union station. But now that I've been to Denver, I realize that not much seems to happen downtown unless you're there for business, which I wasn't. I wish I'd stayed in LoHi or Cap Hill. But if you're here for business, it could be the perfect location.

We stayed June 7th to 10th. These yogurt pretzels have expired on May 1st.

This is a great old hotel in downtown Denver and is near everything. We walked just six blocks to Coors Field and lots of stuff is in the area. The room was satisfactory. Maid service is by request and there is only one small trashcan in the bathroom. After three nights it was overflowing. Also no fan in the bathroom. There are no vending machines or ice machines. If you want ice, go to the front desk and they get you a bucket. Decent Continental breakfast with coffee and juice, hard boiled eggs, lox with onion and capers, bagel crisps with cream cheese and various pastries and cakes. There is a whiskey tasting and live music in the evening. We rented a car and staff was great. The have a Lincoln to shuttle if you are going two miles or less. We were having dinner at Buckhorn Exchange which is 1.8 miles. The valet that drove us was super polite. He was unable to pick us up so the front desk clerk texted me a link for Lyft. I tapped it and a driver arrived quickly and brought us back free of charge. One of the snacks they leave in the room was expired. See photo. It was a yogurt pretzel. My wife did take the gummy bears and she liked them very much and they smelled so fruity. Overall it was a great stay.

This is Denver's oldest hotel! How cool! When I arrived I was warmly greeted by Regan at the front desk, and the valet team waiting at the front door. The hotel has a lot of charm and you can tell a lot has gone into renovating it. There are some pros and cons to staying here: Pros: - The location! You could not ask for a better location if you're staying in downtown Denver. Right next to the hustle and bustle of union station, and an easy walk from the station if you're taking the train from the airport. Lots of great businesses and restaurants within walking distance. - the space is beautiful, and the details and decor make it feel really special - Free breakfast daily from 6-9am - Free bourbon every night from I believe 5-7 - The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were lovely. They had robes too! I love a hotel robe. - A daily $10 gift card to Urban Farmer every day - Free access to their gym and fitness classes - There was also some entertainment in the lobby on Sunday night when I was there - they put a lot of effort into making your stay feel special! Cons: - it's an old hotel, so it's not very sound proof. Luckily I was mostly just sleeping here so it wasn't a huge issue for me. You can hear people out in the hallway, in other rooms, and at night the cracks in my doors let a little bit of light in from the lot hallway - They only have regular keys for the room, no key cards. It's $75 to get them replaced if you lose them, but you can leave them at the front desk to hold for you if you are afraid of losing your key. It was cute and charming, and a nod to the hotel's history, but it was a little tiny bit inconvenient - The way the hotel was set up, my window had a view of the rooms directly across from me, and I could see directly into them. I love natural lighting and love keeping my window open, but I didn't feel like I had much privacy when I opened my window. - There weren't any water fountains in the lobby to refill a water bottle, and the sinks in the rooms were tiny - I couldn't refill a water bottle in my sink. They do give complimentary water bottles daily, Overall, the pros far outweigh the cons for me personally and I would absolutely stay here again.

Drinks - complimentary - in the lobby.

The Oxford is one of our favorite hotels in Denver. Why? It's located in LoDo. It's mature/historic. It's personal. It's sophisticated. It's friendly. It's classic. We particularly enjoyed their evening receptions in the lobby - starting at 5.

One of the two best doormen ever!

Everything went perfect, from the moment me and my sister got there to checking out. Everyone was so kind and chatty and made you feel welcome....location was great as well, access to everywhere we wanted to explore was within walking distance. And then the best part was watching the Avs win two games.

Absolutely beautiful historic luxury hotel. The staff are so accommodating and friendly. Everywhere you turn in the hotel, there are little treasure that make your experience rememberable. It's located right across Union Station so getting there from the airport was easy. Just take the airport train to the last stop ($9 one way-cheaper than an uber!) Also it's in the heart of downtown so you can literally walk to hundreds of restaurants and shops.

I liked the Oxford a lot. I probably need to apologize for the late night laugh fest in our room, the perpetual video reenactment of The Shining in the hallway outside our room and our tipsy strolls around the hotel in our robes but my sister and I hadn't seen each other in awhile and I think we let loose a bit here. Zero complaints were reported to us, so perhaps we were ok. We had a great stay, and I really loved the evening Bourbon tastings since I'm a big fan of Bourbon. The Oxford was walking distance to so many places which made it great during our stay. We stayed at the Art hotel last time we were in town but wanted to try something new, in a different area this time. I'd definitely recommend staying here if a boutique historical hotel is up your alley. Great customer service.

Classy, old-fashioned, adorable hotel in every way... from the personable service, Tesla rides, and kindness to our dog Gerbert to the gramophone in the lobby to the delicious room service from Urban Farmer and soft, luxurious robes, everything about this place is top-notch. If I ever need to come to Denver again, I'll be coming back here. 5 stars!!!!

    Colette K.

Don't ever stay here if you like your room cold. The AC DOES NOT WORK in their rooms, meaning they have no AC. The windows don't open either. The only thing they can offer is a very load fan. Plus, the plumbing backed up so the toilet doesn't work. The pillows are hard and cheap. I will never stay here again. The staff is great trying to resolve my issues but what can they do?

    Jane Z.

Really? The location is wonderful. Breakfast...ummm no...warm coffee less than amazing pastry and people leaving dishes everywhere...no thank you. We went somewhere else the next morning. Whiskey tasting....I see pictures of glasses with whiskey in them....ours maybe two sips but if the "bartender" walked away you could pour what you want... annoying. Can you have free transportation close to the Oxford? Yes but make sure that even when you make reservations a day ahead and ask if you are the first reservation and the only one...someone whiter and richer may get the first preference...we made the best of it but still we felt what was really happening. We had to protest a bit to still have the secondary drop off.

Our group enjoying the free bourbon tasting with Julian and Andrew!

From the incredible concierge duo, Natalia and Julian, to the amazing martini bar and free bourbon tasting, we had a blast! My mother and I were in Denver celebrating Mother's Day, and we immediately knew we were in the right place. Dave and Stewart started out our visit with smiles and great banter. Natalia took great pictures of our group. Julian took us through 3 delicious bourbons and told us about the ghost of Florence. Andrew filled the lobby with an amazing acoustic version of "Birdland." We had such a great time. The location, rooms, and staff made this place exceptional.

Upon arrival at The Oxford, we were enveloped in Art Deco Architecture with hard edges & richly embellished designs.

Ross and I attended The Oxford Hotel's 130th Anniversary & what an evening! Denver's iconic hotel celebrated with a 4 course dinner put on by Urban Farmer & a whiskey pairing hosted by Laws Whiskey House. The Oxford's valet service was friendly and efficient. Upon arrival at The Oxford, we were enveloped in Art Deco Architecture with hard edges & richly embellished designs accentuated by gleaming metal chandeliers. The combination of stark, geometric lines and shapes with grandiose ornamentation transported us back to a Roaring 20s design style - think Gatsby - bold & striking. The Oxford's aesthetic really set the mood for a splendid evening and The Sage Room (where the dinner was held) was dreamily decorated with moody candelabras, candles & fall foliage. Our dinner was led by Laws Whiskey House Founder Al Laws. The dinner featured four decadent courses, each paired with a special Laws Whiskey House selection. The new Oxford Hotel 130th Anniversary Label Four Grain Bourbon was debuted at dinner. Our dinner was created by acclaimed Urban Farmer Executive Chef Ryan Rau. The Beef Tartare was made with pecorino foam & mushroom relish. YUM. This was by far the best beef tartare I have ever had. The pieces of high-quality beef tenderloin were large and highly seasoned. The beef was vibrantly tasty and melted in our mouths. The prickly acidities of the mushroom relish paired beautifully with the first whiskey; it balanced the richness of the dish. The Warm Farmhouse Salad was made with baby bok choy & seared halloumi. The warm baby bok choy was crunchy yet tender & packed with flavor. It had a swoon worthy golden sear that made this veggie a showstopper. The bok choy had a slightly bitter mineral flavor that evoked the spice flavor and aroma from the second whiskey. The 6 oz Prime Filet came with family-style sides including potato puree, seared greens & tableside mushrooms. The Filet was paired with the Oxford Hotel's 130th Anniversary Label Four Grain Bourbon. WOW this filet. The filet was medium-rare perfection with buttery tenderness and mild beef flavor. The 130th Anniversary Label Four Grain Bourbon provided a nice sweet counterpoint to the deep savory-ness of the filet & mushrooms. The Bourbon was aged over seven years and this dynamic whiskey had notes of wildflower honey, dried cherries and cedar (celebrating two true Colorado originals). The Butterscotch Sundae was butterscotch brownies served family style. The Butterscotch Brownies were chewy, brown sugary triangles that were dangerously delicious. They were the perfect combination of chewy and sweet with a delicately crisp top. I DEVOURED two of these without hesitation lol - more please! The fourth bourbon led with flavors of vanilla and caramel and paired well with the butterscotch brownies. WHAT. A. MEAL. & what superb dinner guests! The group that gathered for the 130th Anniversary at The Oxford was nothing short of amazing.

The location really can't be beat. You're right in the heart of LoDo. Coors Field is a few blocks from the hotel and Union Station (which connects directly to Denver Airport) is only about a 5 minute walk away. Tons of restaurants, bars, and things to do are all within walking distance, which makes it extremely convenient. When booking, I asked for a high floor, quiet room so I could work. Upon check-in, they honored that request and also upgraded my room from a Journeyman to an Innovator Suite which I greatly appreciated. That upgrade definitely elevated the stay! The Innovator Suite was fantastic. It had two queen beds, two TVs, a full sofa, wet bar, dining table, flexible workspace, and city views overlooking Denver's LoDo District. The bathroom had a large soaking tub, which I had to take advantage off. There's no balcony and while the wet bar includes a small fridge, it's not really functional for anything beyond drinks as there's no space for leftovers or larger items. You also get a token per night to redeem for a free drink at the bar during happy hour, plus free drip coffee in the mornings. Other perks include free churros during social hour, a courtesy car service within a 2 mile radius, and discounts at various shops. There's also a fitness center, although I didn't use it. There were some things missing though: no pool, no spa, housekeeping is by request only, and no breakfast included. Service throughout was excellent. There's 24 hour front desk service and everyone I interacted with was cheerful, helpful, and kind. Overall, a strong stay with great service, a fantastic room upgrade, and an excellent location, even if a few expected amenities were missing for the price. If I had to come back to Denver and the company was covering the bill, I would stay again. The location really can't be beat. If I were coming for a leisure trip with a similar budget, I'd probably look for a hotel with a pool and spa instead. This hotel is best suited for people who want to experience LoDo nightlife, catch a game, or just be right in the middle of everything downtown. The room I was upgraded to was probably much more expensive than what I actually paid, which definitely improved the experience. I'm not sure I would feel the same way if I had stayed in the original room I booked. 4.5 stars rounded down.

For our Detroit folks, it definitely gives Shinola Hotel. Death & Co was a big draw for us, and if you're a hotel guest, you can actually make a reservation. Our room type even came with two complimentary cocktails. The small touches really stood out: *Bodum French Press + ground beans for coffee (YES, every hotel should do this!). *Topo Designs backpack to borrow during your stay - a cool "try it out" experience. I didn't end up using it but loved the idea. *Bathroom setup with a separate vanity that had excellent lighting and even a steamer (!!). We had a courtyard view overlooking the patio bar. It was a little noisy on Saturday night, but the bar doesn't stay open too late. Beyond that, the hotel itself was impressively quiet - we didn't hear other guests at all. Overall, a stylish, comfortable, and thoughtful stay. Would absolutely return.

The ballroom we were in was well lit but not too bright that it hurt your eyes. The table was nicely laid and even with the salad and dessert on it, there was enough space. The servers were polite and helpful. I appreciated that they brought me tea while serving coffee. The option was appreciated since usually I don't get an after dinner beverage if it's not coffee. The food served was delicious. The salad a nice mix of textures and tastes. The short rib tender and flavorful. And the dessert was light without the icing on top. The audio visual system worked well and we could hear the speakers clearly. Many attendees found parking in structures or lots around the hotel. But there is a valet option and charging stations for electric vehicles. I believe you can self park but I'm not sure. I parked in a nearby garage. The women's restroom has a little alcove area with a baby changing table and seating. Clean and well stocked, it was fabulous. A lot of my opinions about a location is based on their restrooms and this one impressed me. I would like to come again to experience more of the hotel.

The services were available but were not actively proffered. On the other hand, their spa was utterly fantastic! The hotel food was lackluster and focused on steak over anything else. They had other types of food, obviously, but steak was in plentiful abundance over anything. The housekeeping staff was amazing and on top of their game. The room quality was very good and spacious; larger than most hotels' suites. The in-room bar and mini-fridge were not free despite being labeled an "honor bar." I'm not cheap; I have no issue paying. My issue is the deceptive marketing of the so-called honor bar. The room's furniture was not cheap, but it did appear tacky with the illusion of being of quality. On the positive side, the staff were polite and attentive, and the room was cleaned while I was out. The view was also very impressive. Overall, with all things considered, I'd pick a different hotel; there are better hotels in the immediate area with a lower price tag and the spa is not worth it, despite its attentive and fantastic service. Score: 3.5/5.0
