Beautiful room with rustic wood furnishings, friendly staff and a great price! Nice indoor pool (accessible from outdoor walkway) and nice outdoor hottub. Both open and functional unlike so many hotels where they're permanently "closed for cleaning". Monday and Tuesday are the local 'weekend' for most businesses, so many were closed during our stay but still got good recommendations for those that were open. A great stay! read more

Everything was as advertised or better. A perfect family staycation spot. Quaint and never bougie. The owners are so friendly and really try to give the best guest experience possible. Had a wonderful stay here, staff was kind. Had a horrible stay with a small hotel a couple days before this one, so the staff here were a breath of fresh air to say the least. Is this some fancy chain hotel with a million amenities, no. But it is exactly what you need, you are giving money to actual people, and it feels more personal. I appreciate the very cute breakfast layout they had, and honestly the lobby is adorable. Rooms were clean and rustic, and the pool was nice and warm. The kids enjoyed themselves as well. Everything in that room was old, outdated and smelled weird. I had impression the bed sheets had many yellowish stains, they were scratchy and felt like there were bugs stinging me. They need a lot of updates to make this place nice. Expensive for what they offer. read more

Georgetown Mountain Inn provided a nice cabin/rustic feel and was close to the downtown. The Inn was clean and check in/check out was seamless. The views from the Inn were great as we could look out our door and windows to see mountain tops. We enjoyed excellent star gazing at night since there are no nearby city lights to drown out the sky. Warmest most relaxing short stay since my times in Thailand. Best American hospitality for sure. Very clean with a very calming historic "western" feel. Pete was amazing. Took us under his wing. Mapped out our route through FairPlay to Moab. Gave us great insight and fun conversation. It was a rest much needed. The town of Georgetown was really cute and relaxed. I haven't stayed in a place this bad in decades and then I was in college and sharing it with other skiers. Outrageously priced for August and definitely NOT one of the rooms pictured. Those would be the even higher cost ones on the second floor that have been remodeled. None of the pictures look anywhere near as good as reality. If you don't have to stay in Georgetown, don't. But definitely stop by Scooter's BBQ. Possibly some of the best I've ever eaten with large portions of meat. read more

I booked this off the USAA website thinking they have high standards for its members. Wasnt very impressed at all. Pool is pretty small and nothing special. Pool house is run down looking. Room was very out dated. Even fridge and microwave were from like the 70s. The most frustrating is the building is obviously very old and you can hear EVERYTHING from the other room. Every foot step and slammed toilet lid. I thought the people Upstairs were gonna ride their bed through the ceiling!!! You can even hear voices. Thank god the noises stopped before midnight. We at least got some sleep. And thanks god we have a white noise machine. I will say the room was very clean from what I saw though but I wouldn't return. read more

May 2019 We were on our way from California to South Dakota with a newborn. It started raining, then turned to sleet. Decided to get a room for the night. The first place we checked, the reviews said it had bedbugs, so we came to the Georgetown Mountain Inn, as not much else in town. The room had no heat, and we were told not to use the sink, as it leaked. Mr. Sternberg brought us a small heater to use. We were exhausted and just glad to have a place to sleep, but the price we paid was waaay too high for the accomodations. But what choice did we have? I see people posted about morning breakfast...... where? We saw nothing but old coffee.... We were glad to get the heck out of there...... very depressing place. read more

The room was clean, the bed was comfy. The pressure of the water on the shower was impressive. They are a marijuana free hotel, which was a nice discovery for our family, and something to know though for those that participate in that sport. The rooms are a nice size. We had a king bed and there was a table with chairs as well. Dresser held the TV and a large closet was off the bathroom. The toilet/shower are in a tiny room, but provide the services adequately. Shampoo is available at the front desk, and you can get extra towels there as well There are a few dining places nearby. We were worried we'd not have a parking spot when we returned from dinner, but there were several still available. read more

Since this place was pet friendly and had decent reviews, I gave them a call. They were very friendly and only charged us for one dog, even though we had 2! The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and comfy, Mostly clean, could have used a bit more elbow grease and attention to detail. The shower was hot, but there was no mat or grip strips in the tub so it was VERY slippery! Not safe! The restaurant on site was awesome! Great pizza! Would stay here again. read more

I'm currently staying at this motel. It's 10:30 pm I should be asleep because I have a 12hr car ride back home. It's hard to sleep comfortably here..the room smells old the blankets have dog hair on them. The heater keeps making noise. You can hear the other guest upstairs walking around. I'm on my way back to California..I took a roads trip to drop off my brother at college up in Iowa...I've stayed at plenty hotels as you can imagine for way less and much nicer & cleaner. For $105 to sleep a few hours you'd think they fix the place up a bit. I like the whole 'cabin' vibe, but this place is very outdated & very uncomfortable. Also, I read the previous reviews and I wanted to believe them..I guess I just happen to be here on a "bad night"??? read more

This is a 2 star motel no more no less. Its clean, rooms are big and its conveniently located in Georgetown, close to Loveland Ski Area. Self service breakfast is available in the lobby (muffins and coffee). We had a great stay, no complaints. Just dont expect a luxury hotel with all the amenities. They do have an indoor pool. This was my second time stopping in Georgetown traveling across the country - I now make it a habit to stop in Georgetown, CO. because it's a beautiful, quaint town. Anyway, I stopped in Georgetown traveling with my 6-year-old Terrier mix doggie and was hoping to find a dog-friendly place to crash for the evening. We stopped by around 6:45PM during the week and it happened to be right across the road from a dog park so I was hoping this was a sign haha. As I spoke to a nice gentleman with a sense of humor, he gladly let me know the pet policy and said he had a room for me. I was happy! This was also the day that a Pho restaurant just opened up across the street as well, so I made sure to grab some yummy food after I was finished checking in. My room didn't have air conditioning (at least I couldn't find it) only a ceiling fan - which was fine by me because it turned out to be chilly evening anyway. You do get all the free little soaps and what not but you have to ask for shampoo and conditioner at the reception desk. I noticed that there was an indoor / outdoor pool and a jacuzzi. I would have loved to use the jacuzzi but it was getting too late in the evening to ask them to uncover and start it up. Anyway, I slept fine and so did the doggie. The next morning we didn't eat at the inn, rather drove 2 minutes up the road to a little cafe. I had a pleasant experience here and I will most likely be back when traveling across country sometime in the future. read more

Pete rules! Pete is the manager or owner or something here - anyways he always handled our repairs and manned the front desk. He was very genuine and helpful and prompt to respond to our problems (how do we use the heater? how do we use the TV? the sink is not draining properly). I have no complaints. The room was adorable and felt very secure with the triple lock, self-locking door. There was always parking out front, and the room stayed warm easily. Water got hot very quickly, free coffee and pastries in the morning, nice location for accessing the resorts nearby, a 15 minute walk to Old Towne Georgetown for dining, as well as options nearby and a gas station nearby. Stayed here in May in the suite upstairs from the lobby. The place is a little outdated; we definitely noticed some mold and some squeaky furniture. That said everything felt clean and comfortable. We had a ridiculous amount of room for four people in this suite, plus a full kitchen with lots of relics from other travelers to use for our own breakfasts/snacks etc. TV and internet worked as promised. Most of Georgetown was in walking distance and there are some decent hikes starting about a mile or so away. We walked straight from the hotel and hiked Mt Saxon and it was a great day trip. If you are into the green tourism trend, there was a store within walking distance too, though the hotel has a policy against usage. There's free coffee in the morning with donuts/pastries. Overall a really great value for our money; if we pass through we will definitely plan to stay here again! read more

This hotel served as the host hotel for the 2014 How The West Was Won Motorcycle Endurance Rally. I was on staff for the event and this place did great by us. Whenever we needed something we didn't plan for (extension cords, for example), they bent over backwards to get whatever we needed. While this hotel is not set up as an event hotel (no banquet roos, etc.), it was perfect for what we needed. Comfortable beds, powerful showers and actual room keys, not cards. read more

Stayed here for a night a few months ago on a road trip. After driving through Iowa and Nebraska (exhausting since it's such a boring leg of the trip!), we were looking to get a good night's sleep and not pay too much for it. Mission accomplished. The beds were comfortable, the hotel itself is very close to the highway, and the on-site restaurant is a fun place with good food. The rooms are very nice for the price; my only complaint was a lack of pillows, though that's far from a deal-breaker. If I was ever in the neighborhood, I'd absolutely stay here again. read more

This was a great overnight stop on a road trip through Colorado. i wanted to climb Mt Bierstadt the next day and get a good night's rest ahead of time. It was easy to find, and had a pretty decent pizza place (Alpine Restaurant) right in the parking lot. I love when I can walk to dinner. The common areas were kind of dingy - not much of a pool or hot tub from what I could tell. The rooms were well worn, and the linens were not the finest. But for the cheap price, you get what you pay for - a bed and a hot shower. I don't know if I'll find myself in Georgetown again, but if so, I'd consider staying here for a night. read more

Smelled bad, a lemon or something under the bed along with other debris, bag over the smoke alarm and the bed spread plus the bed skirt was stained. The heater made racket all night off on and on. I couldn't wait to get on the rode again the next morning. We pulled the bed spreads off and we wore slippers or our shoes. About 150.00 for the night which is outrageous for the quality. Exceptional service for a LATE night check-in and the price was great. Room was set at the right temperature and the light was left on for us. Clean room with Wi-Fi; coffee and muffins for breakfast was too light for my boys but they survived. No housekeeping offered for rooms nor were clean towels for 2nd night of our stay. Number of hangers in closet weren't adequate for our clothes and our towels to dry. We were looking for a pet-friendly, cheap place to stay the night. $154 isn't considered cheap to me, especially when there are dead bugs on the wall and spider webs in the corners. This was a wonderful overnight place. It is pretty old but wears it well. The rooms showed some sign of wear, but were clean (no musty smell at all), well kept and comfortable. it's within walking distance of a few restaurants and about a mile from the local downtown and various attractions. I loved this hotel and so did my family. The view was great. The pool is nice and warm which felt very nice. We are already planning a return trip in December. The room is big enough for my sister's wheel chair. I loved the charm of the furniture that's why I chose the room with the log furniture. Wanted to have the mountain cabin feel. Friendly staff. Nice and quiet. Love this place. As far as the comments about it being outdated. The prices are very reasonable, so if you want a high end hotel go somewhere where you will pay high end prices. We stayed here the night before hiking Mt. Bierstadt. It was okay. It was clean but everything was very outdated and the plumbing didn't seem very good either (water pressure in the shower and toilet flushing). It was in a convenient location and we were only staying one night so it's not too big of a deal, but I probably wouldn't stay here more than one night. read more

This was my first time in Colorado and I am very pleased with this hotel! When you're planning a little vacation and you want to save money this is definitely the place to go! If you're expecting some luxury hotel with fancy updated rooms then this is not the place for you. It is a very cozy, wood cabin type feeling hotel. Our room has a large comfortable bed with a microwave and a mini fridge. The hot water works great and the water stays hot. Continental breakfast is offered in the mornings and this place also has an indoor pool and hot tub. What I really liked is that they don't automatically perform maintenance on the rooms. You have to call in the morning if you want your room serviced. Maybe it's just me but I like my room untouched when I'm on vacation and I like that there was an option there. All in all, I really like this place and its a great location with lots of good places to eat around it & a short drive up to Loveland for Those who want to ski or snowboard. read more

I stayed here recently after climbing Mount Elbert. This was the perfect place to rest my very weary bones after a grueling climb. Clean, well maintained rooms greeted us when we walked in. I'm a CO native and stayed at the Georgetown Mt. Inn the night before climbing Grays Peak (it got too snowy to do Torreys, too...oh well). The hotel is very conveniently located and it's clearly family-run. The owner was really nice, and I appreciated that there was a dropbox for early checkout. That's crucial if you're climbing the next day and don't want to wake the staff before dawn. Believe me, I've had to do that and it doesn't make anyone happy--so the dropbox is really nice. I wasn't at the hotel for long so I didn't get much of a feel for the place, but it seemed charmingly rustic, comfortable enough, and pleasant. The location was ideal. If you're on a pleasure trip through the Rockies and want this one time to count, maybe this isn't going to be your cup of tea. If you're up here for the mountains, yeah, it probably will be your cup of tea. I'd be curious to stay at the Chamonix, but seriously, guys? If I were looking for luxury I would not be going to Georgetown. Or to a 14er. So in sum: not amazing luxury, but very convenient for those passing through on their way to mountain destinations. read more

The staff is extremely nice, and I have to say that the people who clean the rooms did what they could. There was nothing wrong with the cleaning, but the building is not kept up at all. No one can cover up the stench of mold, sewage, and stale cigarette smoke that permeated the room we were in. The walls are paper thin, and don't let them fool you: this is a MOTEL, and not a hotel. The room was beyond disgusting. Water damage everywhere. I thought I had lost my gag reflex in college, but I was literally dry heaving when in that room. I took pictures to show the credit card company in case they try to charge us, because we did not stay there. The other hotel, which looked much nicer, was booked, so we ended up driving into Denver rather than stay in Georgetown that night. read more
