Night stars, even better in person!

Georgetown Mountain Inn provided a nice cabin/rustic feel and was close to the downtown. The Inn was clean and check in/check out was seamless. The views from the Inn were great as we could look out our door and windows to see mountain tops. We enjoyed excellent star gazing at night since there are no nearby city lights to drown out the sky. Will be back!

Warmest most relaxing short stay since my times in Thailand. Best American hospitality for sure. Very clean with a very calming historic "western" feel. Pete was amazing. Took us under his wing. Mapped out our route through FairPlay to Moab. Gave us great insight and fun conversation. It was a rest much needed. The town of Georgetown was really cute and relaxed. Next time I'll be spending several days here to just kick back and forget about then hustle of modern life. A rare gem.

Pete is the manager or owner or something here - anyways he always handled our repairs and manned the front desk.

Very nice hotel near a beautiful lake. We stayed one night of 7-3 to 7-4 due to the I-70 west…read morebeing closed for a fatal traffic accident on our way back to CA. The front desk staff was very polite and helpful during the entire stay. I do not remember the two ladies up front but they were very professional. We got a room on the 3rd floor with a view of the lake. The first thing we noticed was the AC unit not working. It was 74 in the room and maybe mid 80's outside. The hallway was colder than our room. We turned the air down but it did not seem to blow out very well. We left for an hour to swim, and returned hoping it had cooled which it had not. We informed the front desk who immediately came up and checked. They called maintenance who said it was fine but would bring us a box fan to help, and he suggested we leave for a bit to get food and allow it to cool. We returned after an 1 1/2 and it was still 74 in the room. We again informed staff who apologized but said they did have rooms due to the crash. We figured we deal with it as we were leaving before 5am the next day. About 30min later they called and found us a room on the 1st floor which was at 67degrees. We moved our belongings and got a somewhat restful sleep. The beds are ok and so are the rooms. It's not a $$ hotel so for the price is was great, clean and well kept. Unfortunately when we arrived home two days later, I found I had cash taken out of one of my bags which were in sealed envelopes. Although I cannot say it was stolen here, do not recall missing the money before we stayed. Pros: Clean rooms, friendly staff, pool is nice and refreshing, brewery next door and AC worked in 2nd room, beds were good. Cons: AC didn't work in room 321 Possible theft from room

Do not stay here! There were several issues with this hut,…read morebut the main one is that they just installed a composting toilet and the entire hut smells like a disgusting outhouse. It was absolutely revolting! And there's no escape - you are stuck with the smell for as long as you are staying there. The worst part about this is that a properly installed and maintained composting toilet should not smell. A primary issue is they cheaped out on the sawdust - they only had a little bag in there and were instructing guests to put a tiny (1/4 cup?) scoop in with each use. This is wrong! You need a big 2 cup scoop at least, and there is no way these people installed this toilet without knowing this. Instead, they decided to save themselves a few hundred bucks a year and have all their guests stay in a nauseating cabin. They also did a poor job of installing the venting through the roof, it wasn't properly sealed so the poo smell leaked right into the cabin anyways. They even knew it smelled bad, because they put a little air blocker on the bottom of the bathroom door. Honestly I can't even conceive how these people thought it was ok to know that the hut smells absolutely disgusting and then continue to rent it out for $300/night and not do anything meaningful to fix the problem. On top of this, the hut's construction is kind of slipshod, we had to repair one of the windows ourselves and the general assembly is not great. The bedrooms were laughable. There are 2 bedrooms and they are both tiny, one of them has 2 bunk beds shoved in so tight that you can barely get the door open, and to climb into the second bunk bed, top or bottom, is actually kind of impossible unless you are a tiny acrobat. There is nowhere to put your stuff in the second bedroom because they chose to shove it full of beds, so you have to leave it all on the floor outside the room. So yeah the hut "sleeps 8" so they can charge more, but at the expense of having the bedrooms be useful. They also did not mention that there is no running water in the winter - their website kind of implies it when they say "fully stocked kitchen" so I assumed they had a well/winter water source, but they do not. So everything is 10x harder when you have to get snow and melt it using their crappy pot on the wood stove. At least upgrade the pot to make good thermal contact with the stove to speed up the melting time! The approach was fine, the skiing around the hut isn't very good - mostly not very steep (so quite boring) but surprisingly high avalanche danger anyways - convex rolls all over the place, or terrain traps if you go into the basin. Overall, I feel completely ripped off and would never stay there again. That's capitalism, baby! Cut every available corner to maximize profit.
