This location was "okay" I will not come back by when coming to georgetown but it was not horrible. The beds seemed like full size vs. the queen size advertised. What is on the website is a much newer version of what is actually there. What is actually there is older and more run down. There is a small fridge. But there is no coffee pot or microwave in the room. We were departing at 4 am so the fact the lobby has it was not useful as it was not open at 4 am. Also microwave in lobby was not even working when we were there. Toilet seat lid didn't sit right. No tv. Bed was hard, only one size pillow. It was big and fluffy. If you sleep with a small/flat pillow you might want to bring your own if you plan on staying here. Go up the street to microtel our friend said it was really nice and only a little more expensive. read more

I found the lodge to be exactly what I needed. I needed a bed for two nights with the refrigerator and the shower. The place was comfortable and clean inconveniently right off the highway. Although I did not use it, there was a hot tub, and a common room with a pool table. The place was not very expensive. read more

We arrived at 8:30PM, and luckily the Georgetown Market was open for 15 minutes for some quick foods, as most restaurants were closing at 9PM. The room is what you expect from a roadside motel, bed, TV, little refrigerator, nothing above special. The toilet seat was too small and kept shifting when used. The floor was thinly carpeted with numerous stains and the wood underneath creaked when walked on. "Breakfast included" means a very thin continental selection at best. Waffles, packaged danish, juices and coffee. There is no eggs or proteins of any sort, no fresh fruit, just a fruit cup. To top it off, the breakfast area was dimly lit and the music is what you expect at a funeral home. There is a pool table and selection of games in the main lodge. For the price point, this is what you get. read more

So, you're looking at probably the cheapest lodging in Georgetown, eh? Well, what do you want, a work of art? You ain't getting that here. Front desk guy is kinda gruff, but he was helpful enough and was actually the highlight of our brief stay. We got to our room late, check in was OK and quick, but our room had no lock on it, and it looked like the door had been kicked open and there was a giant hole in the wall where it had made contact. It also smelled really badly in there. They got us a new room which was reasonably unsmelly, but the bathroom seemed built for short people. At six feet, the mirror only showed my teeth if I stood up straight. Sheets seemed kinda gross as did the pillows. Location isn't great, as it's not near much of interest other than the interstate, the dollar tree, and the gas station. As a basecamp for unfussy types looking to bag some peaks/trails/whatnot this isn't bad. Maybe even for roadtripping groups who want to stay in the same place. Or just general budget-conscious travelers who are not particular. read more

Georgetown Lodge was exactly what I needed after my car broke down on I-70. I was towed to Bill's Mobile nearby (also fantastic) but found myself 3mi from town and unable to find an Uber/Lyft in the midst of a snowstorm. Carrie (owner) came and picked me up from Bill's and refused to take my money. Carrie and her staff treated me very well through the week while I waited for my car to be looked at. The room had two comfortable beds and fast WiFi that enabled me to work remotely. I would definitely return to the Georgetown Lodge, by choice this time! :) read more

Worst experience I have ever had checking into a motel. I have travel nursed all over the country and have stayed many places and truly have never been treated the way I was checking in. The general manager, Adrienne Chambers was rude from the start and accused me and my friend of not wanting to pay for our dogs (which is completely false) since we were literally in the checkin process. We hadn't gotten to that point of checkin yet and once we did had no problem paying since we had assumed there would be a fee. We specifically booked this room knowing it was dog friendly. Her rudeness was so palpable that I had to address her attitude and unprofessionalism. She responded with escalating her rudeness and canceled our reservation on the spot which was non refundable through booking.com I followed up with the third party booking service and she responded with absolute false statements and continued her unprofessionalism through her response. I since have reported them to the better business bureau. I only live 1.5 hours away from this facility and was blinded sided and disgusted by how she handles customers She is a sorry excuse of a general manager. I can only warn others to NOT STAY HERE! read more

My wife and I planned a Saturday hiking trip to Grays and Torreys Peak, so we decided to stay on 6/30 (Fri) in a hotel in Georgetown to arrive at the trailhead before sunrise. We were extremely unhappy with this place. The agent at the front desk (the one on our left at 8 PM) was extremely rude and his tone was full of hatred. When we tried to check in, my wife forgot her ID on her car, and this guy literally pointed his finger to her nose, raising his voice, and insulted us like we did something terrible. He threw a card to us, and asked me to look at the map to find our room. I was angry and about to leave, and he called us back and insulted us again by questioning me why I didn't look at the map. (I didn't because I was upset, and don't want to be there). In my whole life, I've never been in a place where people treated us like this. I don't know what we've done to deserve this. As for the room it's pretty bad. The wall is thin so you hear noise everywhere from next doors and the upper floor. I imagine that this place is worse than a Russian labour camp. read more

Quick advice: I highly recommend you look elsewhere if you want to stay somewhere that is remotely decent. There are plenty of other options in Georgetown. The reason we decided to give it a try was because it looked cool and was comparable to other hotel prices in the area. Now as soon as you walk in, you can tell it is an old hotel that doesn't seem to get much love from the owners. However, the gentleman at the front desk was really nice and accommodating so it gave us hope. We get to our FIRST room, opened the door and immediately got a face full of cigarette smoke. The room was a "non-smoking" which obviously didn't matter, so we immediately went back to the front desk for a new room. We get back to the lobby and find another guy who just checked in complaining to the front desk guy about his room not being cleaned prior to him checking in. Front desk guy apologized to both of us and gave us both a new room, no issues. We then go to the next room, only to find it again unclean. Nothing wiped off, floor had stuff all over it, & the bathtub didn't even drain properly. We were disappointed because we had driven over 10 hours and were just hoping to get some shut eye since it was getting late. We ended up going back to the front desk to checkout and ask for a refund since we were there maximum 2 hours between the two rooms. Front desk said they do not do refunds and that i would have to talk with their owners on Thursday. We ended up just biting the bullet and going down the street to the Wyndham hotel and we were so glad we did. Highly recommend you do your research on here and other apps before you choose them. There are plenty of other great options with similar prices. read more

Booked this hotel on booking.com. The arrogant unhelpful person at the lodge couldn't figure out how to charge the room to booking.com, so he said I had to pay him directly. Turns out the hotel actually did bill booking.com for the charge, along with charging me directly. The rude guy that answers the phone tells me there is nothing he can do. Apparently they don't keep records of what they charge you, so he tells me I have to dispute it on my credit card. Horrible, awful customer service at this hotel. Stay away. read more

If I could give no stars I would. My friend and I needed a place to stay as we were stranded in the mountains during a snow storm. They charged me almost $300 for ONE NIGHT and it ended up being a filthy room that someone had been LIVING IN for what looked like months. It was late and we were tired so we decided to rough it and speak to them in the morning, as it was below freezing outside and there was nowhere else to stay. In the morning I spoke to the front desk guy who looked like he had been on drugs for years and he was beyond rude, speaking to me like I was in the wrong for paying them for a disgusting room, that he had probably been living in. He essentially said it wasn't his problem and he could give us $0 back. I ended up arguing to get the managers phone number, which he gave reluctantly. I called the manager 5 different times within the month regarding a well deserved refund, which he said he would give. Turns out I NEVER RECEIVED A REFUND. I had taken photos originally of the crumbs on the floor, what looked like blood in the bathroom, but in good faith I thought they would refund me and now the photos are gone. read more

We stayed at Georgetown Lodge for 3 nights on a trip to Grays and Torreys. This place is no frills. It's worn down and a bit dingy, but a place to rest your head. The walls are paper thin - we woke up multiple times to our neighbors TV. The staff was friendly for the most part. In essence, you get what you pay for. read more

Debated between a 2 and 3 here, but nothing MAJOR wrong, so give 'em a 3. It is old and a bit threadbare, but seemed fairly clean, and we got a good night's sleep. No breakfast (not uncommon coming out of Covid), and not many amenities (had ice bucket but could locate no ice). Was pricey for what you get, but all hotels in town are on the pricey side. Took advice of another reviewer and asked for second floor room so as not to hear overhead sounds. read more

It's a decent hotel. We were on the first floor in a nonsmoking room and were there for 3 nights. The room was your basic room but no microwave in it (there is one in the lodge I guess). The bed was VERY hard. It's a stiff foam mattress, we tossed our phone on the bed and it bounced. Wish I would've known this, I guess all the beds are the same. They advertise for breakfast included but it's not, they have coffee and prepackaged muffins. We could smell the smoke from other rooms in our rooms which wasn't the greatest. You can hear footsteps if you're on the first floor. The water was nice and hot and the wifi was pretty good. One of the least expensive hotels in Georgetown but still pricey. My recommendation would be to opt for a second floor room. You hear every footstep of anybody above you if you're on the first floor. We were there for four nights and never had any housekeeping. Also, we booked with the understanding that there would be breakfast but they had absolutely nothing because of Covid. (Did have coffee) It would've been nice to have known that ahead of time as other hotels in the area still provided breakfast. I will say that the room did seem clean at least. read more

May 2019 - Traveling through a snowstorm we needed to get off the road quickly. We found America's best value Inn as a recommendation from the counter guy at a gas station. He said it wasn't the Hilton, but he said it would do for the night and it was clean. We found our stay to be adequate. There wasn't much other choice is in town, but our stay was just fine. Place was clean, certainly dated, beds were fairly comfortable, the air conditioner worked just fine, shower facilities were great. The continental breakfast was pretty good with fresh fruit, juices, coffee, eggs, and plenty of pastries. read more

I wish I had read the other person's review prior to staying at this place. It was absolutely disgusting. We were getting ready for bed when we pulled back the sheets and saw what looked like blood stains on the sheets. The pillows/sheets also had hair in them still. We called to switch rooms and the 2nd room also had hair on the sheets and in the sink, but no blood stains! So we used our clothes as sheets, "slept" for the 4 hours we were in the town and woke up to leave as soon as possible. I sent the company a complaint and the response I got was "if we had known the second room wasn't up to your standards we could have tried to fix the problem" I don't think a clean room is a crazy "standard" to have. 2 rooms were filthy, I was afraid to see a third. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here. read more

People need to relax lol I was reading the reviews expecting the worse and it was completely fine. It's what I expected. I paid less than a hundred dollars; I wasn't expecting the Ritz. Ya it's outdated, the last time it was remodeled was probably when they opened a million years ago but it was clean and that's all I really care about. The front guest guy was cool as shit and let me pet his dog. I kept seeing comments about a hard bed... we literally had a temperpedic. Had a terrible experience here. Stayed here New Years Eve. We expected guests to be up late and accepted that. At 3:30 AM we called the front desk to have them tell the room next to us to turn their blaring TV down. We could hear talking in the room earlier in the evening, but never heard a phone ring. An hour later we called again only to be told that they had called the room next to us and she said she didn't realize it was loud and turned it down a little. But he would check. Despite never hearing a phone ring, I could hear front desk guy walking around upstairs but never heard any attempt at resolving the problem. I called a third time and he said he couldn't hear any TV. I told him to come to our room and listen and figure out who it was and resolve it. He made one more trip and did nothing. He then stopped answering the front desk phone. We got no sleep. The room was old and outdated, the sheets and walls were blood/poop stained and we could hear the words spoken on the blaring TV (an action movie mind you) all night. Really bad customer service! Worst hotel experience ever. We asked for a refund and were told no because the front desk guy never heard the TV. read more

In the past year we have driven across the country twice. We have stayed in a variety of hotels - almost all have been wonderful. Then we came upon the Georgetown Lodge after driving 600 miles. I was tired and I missed the sign about dogs, but their video security immediately caused us to remove our dogs and seek another room. They then told us they wanted to charge us for our dogs and would have fined us $100 per dog if they found out in the morning. I had no desire to remain and asked for a refund which they refused to issue. We were stuck so we stayed. The room had toothpaste dried on the sink. The carpets clearly had not been vacuumed ( I have pictures) and I wonder if the sheets were fresh. The complimentary breakfast was deplorable. Unless you are desperate for a bed - KEEP DRIVING. I have also written a letter of complaint to the Attorney General of Colorado to try to recover some of my money if not all. read more

Way overpriced, very old. Paid 109.00 for a room that wold have been overpriced at 35.00. Staff was OK, but Room had an unusual aroma, cross between mold, old cigarette smoke, some ineffable something else I couldn't put my finger one. It permeated my luggage, so I got to share the bouquet when I got home. Rooms dark, smelly. I've never seen sinks so low or toilets so low. TV not HD--guess they are cutting their overhead. The bed was good, a posture pedic or clone, and the water pressure was exemplary. Boiled eggs promised for breakfast, none seen, bread and pastries (such as they were) were frozen. Won't call it a dump, would offend people who own a dump. I'd recommend sleeping under a bush in the rain before staying at this place. read more

WORST HOTEL EVER! ...LIKE IT BELONGED IN A HORROR FILM FROM THE 80s. First, the front desk staff greeted us with "What do you want?" when we checked in. We checked-in and noticed there was only one other car in the parking lot. The parking lot itself was full of miscellaneous junk and trash. We walked upstairs to our room. The stairwell was in extremely bad and potentially hazardous condition. I was surprised it was still standing. When we got to our room, we got hit with a wafting smell of cigarette smoke and the room was bad...really bad. The room was really dated, but it was more than that. The paint was literally peeling off the walls. I looked at the sheets and they had hair and dirt and stains. We went back to the front desk and inquired about the non-smoking room. They said oh, yeah, it's probably because the two rooms on either side of you have smokers (but those rooms said non-smoking). Anyhow, we got moved to another room downstairs. It smelled "better" in terms of the smoke anyways, but again had paint peeling from the walls and was in such bad shape it was almost comical how bad it was. We needed a place to stay the night and this was the cheapest option at around 100.00 a night and it was getting late. I basically sat on our cooler the remainder of the night because I was too grossed out to sit anywhere else. Just awful! We woke up really early the next morning and got the heck out of there. read more

We stayed here this past weekend and everything about this inn was awful. Upon arrival greeted by the most unfriendly man at the check in desk who couldn't bother to respond with more than one word answers. Our room was fine for a motel, but had obviously not been cleaned well. There were so many hairs in the sink when we arrived and there looked like feces all over the bathroom walls. There were holes, spots and cracks in the walls, just looks disgusting. A new layer of paint and maybe a new staff might do this place some good! Won't be returning read more

I think the people who gave this place lower than 4 or 5 stars were expecting too much from a hotel that is less than $100/night. Our room was perfectly clean and comfortable and we had no issues with service, cleanliness, or barking dogs as some people mentioned. We were also on the first floor and couldn't hear anyone above us as someone mentioned below. The continental breakfast was great! Coffee, apple juice, orange juice, hot chocolate, oatmeal, various kinds of cereal, toast, muffins, pastries, and English muffins. Just wish it had some source of protein for breakfast such as yogurt. This hotel is located in Georgetown which has a lot of historic charm. If you stay here, make sure to eat at the Alpine Restaurant and Bar. Excellent pizza and a great selection of beer. read more
