We are close to this America's Best but the one in Greenbelt is our preferred location. Bowie's AB never seasons the wings properly, they are overcooked, and the fish was old and smelly. I ordered a fish sub with certain toppings and they prepared the sub and didn't have any of the toppings I wanted. I wanted cheese but it looked like it was added as an afterthought. When it first opened prior to Covid, the service and food was excellent. The new owner apparently hires whoever and he just sits there with no customer service. I called in my order of 10 moon dust wings. When I arrived 10 minutes later, my order was hot and ready. I asked about getting a side of the moon dust seasoning and was given some by the nice young lady behind the counter. I found out that it was more of a sauce than a seasoning. I absolutely love this flavor. It's like an old bay type of flavor but with a hint of something else. I can't put my finger on it but it's good. You should try it. The wings were cooked nicely. They were fried hard but they were not dry. I dipped them in ranch dressing which is the only way to eat them. This location is extremely neat and clean with a large flat screen TV and plenty of tables and chairs if you'd like to eat in. You walk to the counter, order your food and wait for your order. You will have to pay extra for things like flats or drumsticks only, an additional dressing or drink refills, which I think is a bit absurd. Other than that, the place is worth a visit. We live close to two America's Best locations but one is much closer than the other. We decided to stop at this location while on our way home from Crofton. The location has the same stuff for the most part except they have a little more wing flavors and they have a soul food menu. They have bomb collard greens! One thing I did notice was the menu prices were slightly higher than the other location. I understand different franchises have they're own set ways of doing things but why charge $1 for food items than other locations, especially when you're in within close distance of the other locations? They charge $0.50 for refills and extra dressing. Other than the greens, I'm not that pressed to come up this way if the food taste the same. read more

I grew up in the land of "carry-outs," where one was on every corner, so I know a good carry-out when I see one. This particular establishment is an upgraded carry-out. No thick bullet proof glass between you and the employees, a huge flat screen on the wall for your viewing pleasure, very clean and vibrant, and several tables and chairs that you can actually sit comfortably and dine-in. On the other hand, they do still possess some of the petty nickel and dime nonsense that goes on in actual carry-outs. For instance, is it really necessary to charge .50 for refills on your soda or .50 for a second dressing for your wings? It really isn't that serious. If I order 10 wings, is it really going to make or break you to cough up 2 dressings? Me thinks not! I ordered the honey bbq and moon dust wings to-go. My order came out within 5 minutes and they were piping hot. Took them home and I can honestly say that I wasn't really that impressed. They were okay, but not the best wings I've eaten. Since the name of the spot is called, "America's Best Wings" I was expecting to eat America's Best Wings. Alas, that wasn't the case. I got the heads up from another Yelper on some other options that are really good here and I'll probably give them a try in the future, but I won't be in hurry to come back. The owner had the audacity to charge me (literally swipe my visa for $1.00) after I just gave her $45.00. Bad business....you are paying more in visa surcharges than for the cost of the dressing. Surprisingly, the Red Velvet cake was deliciously moist and flavorful. One of the best I've had at a restaurant. The store is clean and has several menu options besides wings. I tried their crab sticks which were ok but not the best and my mother had a side of fried okra with her Wings. They give you a lot of okra which would be s great shareable side. They have yum yum sauce, on top of your basic old bay, tater, ranch and blue cheese to go sauces. The wait wasn't long and the workers were all friendly. A friend and I wanted some wings while watching Sunday Football, and ABW was the most convenient for where we are. The Yelp reviews made me decide to give it a shot, although there was a little hesitancy, but I can safely say that the negative reviews listed here must be outliers, flukes, or the competition, as I experienced none of the issues they claim. The restaurant, while in a fairly small store/building, is well laid out and very spacious inside. While there are some tables, the place isn't overcrowded, and there is plenty of room to walk to the various aspects one may need on a visit - the Soda machine, the restrooms, the cash register, the dessert case, etc... The staff I worked with was professional but polite. They weren't necessarily warm and welcoming, but they didn't act as though they didn't want to be there either. The lady at the register was actually quite helpful. I didn't want a combo (we didn't need drinks), and was going to order 2 separate 10-piece wings with fries on the side. Once she realized what I was doing, she let me know the 20 piece would be less expensive (it is), and that the order could be split in multiple flavors without an issue. They have up to 30 flavors of Wings available. The food itself came out fairly quick - maybe 5 to 10 minutes from placing the order. The wings were very good. Most were of a good size and well cooked. I won't say they were gigantic or the size of regular drumsticks, but there is plenty of meat on them. The Medium wings had enough spice that you could notice it, but it wasn't so hot that it was overpowering. It did leave the lips tingling for a little bit afterwards. The Honey BBQ were also quite tasty. In both cases, all parts of the wing were covered with the chosen flavor, but they weren't drowned in the sauce. The fries were, well, just regular crinkle-cut fries. A nice change from the shoestring fries many places offer, but there wasn't anything special about them. When the food came out, the gentleman assisting me opened each box (with me there) to confirm the order was correct, and then closed the boxes and bagged them. They are a little pricey, but I don't think they are overly expensive for the area, and the wings appeared to be good quality (mostly meat, minimal fat/tendon, etc...). If you are in the mood for wings, you could definitely do worse than ABW. Now that I"ve tried them, I'll certainly go back when the mood strikes. read more

This is a literal mediocre place. Now if you eat in, don't forget to give them back their ketchup I ate there and grabbed ketchup with my fries. As were leaving they yell at us to return the ketchup to the counter.. no one else asked for ketchup, and they were busy. Sure we could have returned it before we left but it slipped our minds. Horrible Service. We placed an order at 2pm to be picked up at 6pm. We arrived at 6 and were told our food wasn't ready so we stood there and waited. When asked how much longer it would be, the woman at the front counter simply answered "I don't know" with no further attempts to find out. We were later told 2 minutes which was changed to 5 minutes and then again changed to 10 minutes. We did not receive our food until 6:50pm. There was an extremely rude and mocking white man with glasses working at the counter that offered no apology or compensation when we finally got our food. We asked for a partial refund and with a very disrespectful tone he replied that if we "partially returned the food", we could get "whatever refund we wanted". When we called to complain, he lied saying there was a message on the website informing customers of a one hour wait time, which there was not. We have contacted corporate but will not be coming back and recommend you don't either. read more

One day, I randomly looked on their menu (not sure why, because all I ever want are old bay wings) and saw they serve a variety of fish that can be fried. So I ordered fried catfish and they even included a few slices of white bread in there! (If you don't get it, you just don't get it!) A little bit of hot sauce on the fried fish and a little bit of old bay seasoning on my fries and I felt like dancing! Unh unh unh *dab* I mean, sure, I've had soft, flaky, mouth-watering chilean sea bass at fancy schmancy spots, but we aren't talking fancy schmancy here. We are talking a carryout... in Bowie of all places. The closest place I could get a decent fried fish meal before was at Texas Roadhouse and in my humble opinion, it's a bit overpriced for the taste. Okay. Let me start by saying that as soon as we walked into this particular location, we were greeted by the welcoming and lavish smell of Fabuloso. I know this because I, too, use it to clean with. This location smelled so amazing and was spotless from the rootie to the tootie. I instantly said I will be coming to this location from now on. We placed our order and it was ready in no more than 15min. The place was empty...guess that's because its Easter though. Either way, I really enjoyed this location and will be back. The food was super fresh and piping hot from the time we got it until the time we got home. Looks like a win win situation here. I've been going to this location for years. Never had an experience like this! White guy with glasses behind the counter who claimed he is the manager has a god complex. I placed an order over the phone and received something completely different. When I asked the "manager" why he didn't specify over the phone about what I was ordering he was literally speechless, didn't respond to my question. I asked to replace the order with what I actually wanted that costed the exact same amount, I was told I would have to pay again. "Manager" said I could get a refund, so I did...which in my eyes either way you're throwing away the old order whether you're replacing it or giving me a refund so I don't understand what the issue was. Anyways, I reviewed this place on Google and the "OWNER" responded and said to come in ask for them specifically, which I did, and he asked me to change the review to a positive one without any compensation or apology. When I refused he DELETED my Google review to keep up their reputation I guess. I normally like to get wings from Chinese carry out spots but I went here based on a recommendation from a friend and I am glad I did. This is a great place. I got 4 wings, fries and a drink for $8.99 plus tax. I like that they have the ketchup and black pepper right where you pick up the food so it's easy to put on and it's not in packets which can be annoying to open each one. They have lemonade and ice tea also. It's a little bit more expensive than the normally carry out but I think it's worth it. read more

One of the relatives of the establishment came inside from outside. She was caring a bag, she had on her coat and hat and never removed them. What was most disturbing was the fact that she proceeded to fix her something to eat first of all without washing her hands. Secondly she stood near the food eating finished and went back for seconds. She served herself out of the food that utilized to serve patrons. Very disappointed with the service and the product. I purchased some Chicken Wings that were mediocre at best. I ask for a cup for some water and I was told to buy a bottle of water or pay for a cup. This seems to be a typical restaurant that exploits there customers instead of offering a quality product for a fair and competitive price. I do not think I have ever gotten wings that were not over cooked. For a wing place, thats not good. The fries are generic and disgusting. They charge you for absolutely everything! Refills on a soda cost 25 cents... you gotta be kidding me. They give you 1 napkin and look very frustrated if you ask for more. It's wings, I need more than one napkin! The managers just look at you the whole time like you are about to steal from them or something. Very unwelcoming feeling. There are many better places to get wings in bowie. Wing Zone and Wing Stop are both much better options. The only thing that made me give it 2 stars is that there sauce options are great, they are gonna charge you for them though haha. After hearing so many people talk about how good those Old Bay wings are I just had to try them! The gentleman at the cashier was very nice! I was greeted with a smile when I walked through the door. He also recommended the honey garlic wings, so I tried those too. One thing I hate is dry chicken - but ABW did not disappoint. The wings were seasoned and cooked very well.
