I stopped in last Friday and ordered a cheese steak sub and a #2 hoagie . The guy taking my order should definitely NOT be the first point of contact . I walked over and he's just looking at me with his pen in hand but doesn't say a word . I m like , " do you take my order ?" He manages to mumble the word yeah . I have loved Jersey Mikes since I first had one of their subs. I chose them for my group event and got a selection of subs to feed 36 people. Maybe it was a Covid response, maybe an oops but the meat and cheese on our subs was almost nonexistent. The slicer was set so thin that you could see through the pieces and it seemed like they missed the meat and cheese. Hopefully this was a one-off but I'll be getting another sub soon to see if it is a new thing. I will say that the customer service and ordering experience was fabulous and the order, even with modifications was correct. Just wish the sandwiches were a bit more than salad on a bun. read more

I ordered the number 64 but do you see any mushrooms. I drove 10 miles to pick this up. This 8"sub is $11 and this is what I get. I literally had to drive back to get the sub re-made. This is not the first time this has happened and on 11/19/23 at 7:55 p.m. Racetrack do better. Who wants to make an extra trip. My family delayed dinner for more than an hour just to make this double trip. This is a freaking onion sandwich. The three separate times I've ordered there, they "don't have white bread " so they just pick whatever they want. They don't call or even when you pick up advise that your sandwich is wrong. I asked the manager why they keep doing this and he responded "you want a free sandwich or not?" I just wanted them to stop doing this. He responded I should "be grateful I even got bread, would I'd rather not have bread at all?" So incredibly disrespectful and they just don't care about anything. I asked him to just acknowledge what they are doing is wrong and he said "it isn't he is too busy to call " he also said he did apologize on the ticket. Terrible customer service. Wasn't really greeted, when I came in. They were cooking one order at a time. I stood and watched them cook a chicken steak, and after it was finished, they began to prepare my order. At the end I asked the worker (young African American guy) if the sub would come to the prep area after where the cold foods were, because I wanted them to add hot peppers and he said, No - I put on the sub what you asked for at the beginning. I said, let's not do this. There is a way to speak to customers. He said, would this be all, I said, never mind, I don't want any of it. And as I was leaving the other worker of Latino Descent yelled..Happy New Year!, in a sarcastic way. This location actually took care of me one day, when I had rude service at the one on MLK, but now I won't return to either. Again, you LOOSE, not me. Welcome to Flavor Town! This was my first time trying Jersey Mike's and after the most delicious cheesesteak I've had in a while, it won't be my last. I ordered the #56 Big Kahuna Cheesesteak and it was oh soooo good. Granted, I was starving like a hostage, but I know a good thing when I taste it. It comes with grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, jalapenos and extra cheese. I held the onions and peppers, but added tomatoes, mayo and lettuce. I may be in the dark, but I never thought to add jalapenos to my cheesesteaks and it's just what it needed...a burst of heat...but not too much. It's a few steps above Subway and a little more costly too. They have everything from Wraps like Buffalo Chicken, to Hot Subs like Meatball and Cheese, to Cold Subs like a Club Sub. I live in the area and I get frequent coupons where I can buy any sub and get a free bag of chips and a soda. Not too shabby of a deal. I can't recall the options for the sizes of subs that are available, but I know I got the 7'' and it was plenty for me. The bread choices are wheat or white and the wheat bread I had was very fresh. My elderly neighbor and I stopped in here for lunch last month. We intended on dining at another restaurant in the area, but it was closed. I'm glad we stopped in! My neighbor ordered a Meatball and Cheese sub (meatballs, provolone, tomato sauce, parmesan cheese) and I ordered Chicken Bacon Ranch Cheese Steak (applewood smoked bacon, tomato, lettuce, ranch dressing) with a bag of chips. Both of the subs were fresh and delicious. The subs were full and there was plenty of meat and fixin's. A young guy I presume to be the manager went by every table and asked how our meal was. At the end of our meal, he offered to take our trash and throw it away. Great customer service! There's not too many tables to eat at inside. The place gets pretty crowded during the lunch rush, so eat early or come in later if you want to sit down. It didn't take that long to get our food, either. Although, we put in our order before the lunch rush, so that probably worked in our favor. We will definitely be back! read more

I thought I'd give them another try but I'm officially done. I ordered a giant Philly cheesesteak on white bread. Simple enough, right? No! I first waited over 30 minutes for my sandwich to be made and watched multiple people who ordered after me come and go. I was in a rush due to waiting so long that I didn't check my food before I left. My giant Philly cheesesteak was not on white bread, I had no peppers, the meat wasn't chopped up like it should be or normally is and they didn't even give me enough meat. I had more bread than meat. I could have made another sandwich with the amount of bread left over. And to top it off, whoever made my order literally gave me an entire tray of onions. I legit will never order from this spot again. My family has ordered online or gone in countless times before and excused the ridiculous amount of time it has taken to get cold sandwiches. However, today I placed an online order, and stopped in to pick it up. I told them I was there to pick my food up, but went directly to the bathroom. There are no signs up saying the restroom is closed, but is it not blocked off. It's just locked. The person cooking says that the bathrooms are closed to which I responded by pointing at my stomach and literally begged to use the restroom. I understand we are in the midst of dealing with COVID-19, but I'm literally 39 weeks pregnant and begged to use the restroom. There are no COVID mandates from the state or county requiring businesses to close restrooms. They very well could have exercised minimal decency and allowed me to use it. read more

I'm a fan of Jersey Mike's as it is, but as with any franchise/chain, each location can be hit or miss. I'm so happy to say that this one is a sure-fire hit. Every time I go there, the food is exactly as expected, but the service is usually beyond expectations. The staff is almost always very friendly, but not intrusive or annoying. Chatty, but pleasantly so. Upbeat and congenial, not phony. That's the kind of experience I want from a sub shop. I almost always walk out of the place with a smile, and not just because I'm about to eat their food. They just have a way of putting me in a good mood. I also love that they carry Ms. Vickie's chips. They're one of my favorites. Kettle-cooked (which is to say, thick and very crunchy), various flavors, and plenty in stock. The subs are great. From the Original Italian full of Italian meats, to the house-made roast beef (so tasty), they have something for all preferences. Even their hot subs are great. Bread is great quality and has never been anything but fresh. Ingredients are all high quality. Staff is very friendly. I go maybe once a month and it's always great!! My go-to sandwiches are steak Philly, chicken Philly, Italian cold cut, and roast beef. Chicken Philly is a stand out favorite at Jersey Mikes! The reason for the deduction of a star was due to the disorganization. I was in line where I was asked what I wanted. I relayed my order to the female employee and she immediately walked off after. I stood there for a few minutes then got out of line as I didnt want to hold up the line for those ordering cold subs. Next thing you know a gentlemen approached me asking what I ordered and wrote it down on a notepad. 10 minutes later I was give. Went there for dinner on a Friday night for the family. This is a new location to the Bowie area so we decided to check it out! Overall, it was good! You just have to make your choices carefully. And I'm not 100% positive, but I don't think they use mayo on the sandwiches. I think it is totally oil and vinegar! So keep that in mind! It isn't a problem to me, but it can be for some! We called the order in because in order to order on line, you have to pay for it online! FYI!! Inside the restaurant, there are different lines to order and pay. Because we already ordered, we went to the line to pay and pick up! There were 3 young ladies just standing there! Not really asking if we needed help! They eventually did and we got out order and left! We ordered the Famous Roast Beef and Provolone, the Chicken Parm, the Jersey Mike's Famous Philly, and a Turkey Breast and Provolone. The roast beef is without mayo (they use oil perhaps on the bread), so my mother thought it was dry! She also needed to add salt to her sandwich! Just an heads up! The Chicken Parm was good, but nothing too special. The Turkey Breast was good as well! I ordered a mini because it was for my 3-year old. It had raw onions on it too, which was a no-no for my toddler! She took them off as fast as she could! But it was just a turkey breast sandwich; nothing special,but still good! However, the Famous Philly was definitely a winner! Very good! The beef was tender and the peppers were sweet! Just as it should be! The bread was also very soft! Clearly this was the sandwich that I had! Very good! Definitely getting it again!! I totally enjoyed my sandwich and I will definitely be going back again! I've been here a few times now and I've always liked the sub I bought. It's not like Subway where everything is pre-cut, pre-sliced, pre-measured. It's all hand sliced while you wait. The ingredients are excellent and tasty and the staff has always been super friendly even when it's busy . They don't have a ton of choice but they have enough and they don't have a ton of add-ons like Subway but they have enough for my taste. I definitely wish there were more of them around. read more

This place is excellent material to inform a case study of why the food-service industry should be automated. If the staff is incapable of handling people, they do not need to work in customer facing position in the foodservice industry. If Jersey Mike's is not going to see to it that they hire charismatic, smart, capable people, then do what Wawa does and automate your ordering system. As a linguist, I'm all about learning other languages but the employee with the worst English should not be the one interacting with English speaking customers when it results in egregious errors. Update on my review. Big Kahuna Cheese Steak is great. I am not sure what the fuss is about with Philly cheese steaks because I have been there and tried that and those lines are silly for what you get. I order the Big Kahuna Cheese Steak often. I also love there Meatball and Cheese Melted provolone, tomato sauce and Parmesan cheese. I am kicking myself for not ordering this initially. I would give zero stars if I could. I called ahead to order a simple steak sub with NO cheese and three toppings...THREE. The guy on the phone repeated my order to me and I confirmed what I wanted. What I got instead, was a sub with EXTRA cheese and lots of Mayo. Like how? Was this even my order? I returned minutes later, and requested a refund. From the past visits, my order has been gotten wrong, missing items, etc. The last time before tonight I submitted a mobile order and was waiting for almost 30 minutes past the time it was ready. Everything was fine until the person making my sandwich had to take a customer's money at the register. Instead of washing their hands first, they pulled gloves out of the box to proceed with making my sandwich. I asked them to wash their hands and not use the gloves they had already pulled out of the box. Then the attitude. I said you just handled money and you pulled gloves. This review is not based on food. I absolutely love the sandwiches at Jersey Mike's! I was a bit taken back today to notice that they are not enforcing the Mask Mandate. While in line waiting to order several individuals walk into the store that did not have on mask and were not told they needed too. Come on people this a place that people come to get food. The mask policy need to be enforced and especially since the CDC has stated that you need to wear a face covering regardless whether you have been vaccinated or not. Fresh bread that I personally like better than subway or firehouse, fresh cut meat that you watch them cut the meat and cheese down in front of you with a slicer, the bacon is always crispy and the space is kept clean with each sandwich made. My significant other is pretty picky but she'll always go for a turkey sub so I find myself eating here a lot. The staff has made a point to know my name, smile and ask how my day, or school, or my job is going because they remember, and they pretty much know my order by heart. The manager especially always takes time to have a real conversation, hold the door for me, ask after my family and is always in a great mood. I went the first week it opened and I thought that was why my steak and cheese sub took 15 minutes but I went another time about a month later and it was the same. The owner was nice-ish but that's too long to wait. Also, though their bread is AWESOME (made fresh every day), the steak and cheese wasn't nearly enough, I had about twice the bread there should have been for the amount of meat etc. Also, the place was dirty, like tables not cleaned and napkin dispensers not filled, the soda station had napkins thrown all over, just not the cleanliness you'd expect from a place serving you food. The employees there are wonderful. I got my hair done next door at the Phoenix studio. I came outside to leave and found out my car battery was dead. And also my phone was dead. I came into Jersey Mike's and I asked if I could charge my phone for a while and this one gentleman that I failed to ask his name was so kind. I was acting slow and didn't ask for a jumpstart until like 10 minutes later. The guy graciously gave my car a jumpstart. He was so kind and I wish I had money on me to tip him.
