This is a budget motel. Thus, it exceeded our expectations. The check in was easy and the couple who runs this motel could not have been more gracious. We parked in front of our room which was a welcome convenience. Ice machine and laundry room are near to any room. Inside was immaculate, updated modern bedside lights, tv/signal were no problem, we chose a queen bed on purpose (we like each other) which was super comfy and although we had a room close to the street it was quiet and we had a great night's sleep. If you need to catch a flight in Eugene this is a very affordable place to rest the night before! read more

Let's see... I booked a room ($75) because it was showing as pet friendly. When we checked in the desk person said there was an additional $20 per pet charge, non-refundable, which was a total surprise. (She generously only charged for one pet.) When I said we would be gone for an hour they said we couldn't leave the dogs at all. If we took them with us they would have been in an 80 degree plus car. So we didn't go where we wanted to and missed something that was important. We're getting the feeling that traveling with our dogs (well behaved, crated, non barkers) requires that we stay at the worst motels. Ugh read more

Over Thanksgiving week I did a road trip from the San Francisco area to the Spokane area. I stayed here one night to break up the northbound drive, and again a few days later, when southbound. It was a fine, perfectly adequate, inexpensive room to overnight in and break up a 16-hour drive. Accommodations are basic, but that's to be expected at this price point. I found the rooms to be clean and comfortable enough. I was able to park directly out front of my room both times. Front desk staff were courteous and efficient. I didn't hear any noise at all while in my room, but I sleep with earplugs in so make of that what you will. At this bargain basement price it was nice to find amenities such as mini fridge, microwave, and complimentary toiletries. Plus the breakfast. It was very, very basic but honestly I never expected a breakfast to be included at that price, so still considered it a bonus. Toast and cereal, basically. Some fruit would have been nice. Easy access to Interstate 5 and the affordability made it ideal for my needs. You get what you pay for. This isn't a five-star hotel. If your expectations are in line with the price you're paying, you shouldn't be disappointed. read more

Unclean, highly unkept both on the interior and exterior, paper thin walls, feels unsafe, we heard a rat in our walls while sleeping, heard our neighbors as if they were in our room, the bathroom door didn't shut, the walls, etc all over the room were damaged and poorly repaired, horrible insulation. Nice hot water shower, toilet works, bed is comfy enough, clean, AC and heating system is quiet, and we get to park 2 steps from the front door. It's all about ease of checking in and checking out. Not a great hotel but not the worst I've stayed at! It was cleaner than anticipated from how the outside looks- however there was black mold growing on the bottom of the shower curtain and the floors could have been cleaner. There were stains on the sheets like marker? Maybe a kid dropped his pens or markers.. either way they should be replaced. Bed was more comfy than anticipated too. I wish (WISH) I had checked the reviews instead of thinking "awww those topiaries are so cute!" and taking a room here. The proprietors were very nice, but unfortunately that doesn't make up for the rooms or the location. $49/night is a lie, apparently that is for a twin bed? That is what we were told. So we ended up paying more... should have just splashed out a few more bucks and gone somewhere with indoor rooms. I don't know about the summer, but In the winter, you have two options: you can sleep with your room the temperature of a meat locker (the default, since the room doors are outside and there are huge gaps with whistling, below-freezing air blowing in), or you can listen to the heater screaming like 50 hairdryers all night long, struggling to keep up with the heat loss. The heater might help to drown out the sound of unsavory characters screaming at each other on the street outside your window. Plus, the curtains don't close all the way so you have to have the overhead fluorescent lights beaming into your room all night. The ancient blanket between the topcover and the sheet was riddled with holes and had hairs embedded in it that would make you shudder. There was more hair in the bathtub, and the grimy grey "non-slip strips" were rolling up and would make you want to shower with your shoes on. I opted for skipping it altogether. The free breakfast is only from 7-9am and consists of toast, Froot Loops, Raisin Bran (in big dispensers so you know that stuff is stale) or "make-your-own" waffles, from batter that appears out of the back room in hospital dixie cups. I was hoping for at least a piece of fruit or something, but even the "orange juice" dispenser is filled with 99-cent/gallon orange syrup punch. The coffee dispensers were empty when we arrived, so when my husband asked for coffee, the woman ran water through the OLD COFFEE GROUNDS! I know I've spent less than this for a quick overnight stay on the road and had a nicer place. In the morning there was a two-page note written in lipstick on our car windscreen from a hooker who wanted her stuff back. We must drive the same Volvo family sedan as her pimp. read more

It was decent for a one night stay. The check in/out was done by my gf and she says it quick and easy. The hotel location was decent. I felt safe staying there and parking my car. All rooms are on ground level. The property was neat and clean. Walking into the room, it was also neat and clean. Mattress was okay, sheets had a couple of stains that were faint. The accent chair was old and worn out. When turning on the AC/Heater, it had a smell where the filter needed changing for the first minute or so. The tub was stained. Microwave & refrigerator was clean. Flat screen TV was good. Breakfast is from 7 to 9. I went in around 8. I was disappointed with breakfast. I was looking forward to using the waffle maker. They had pre-poured batter in cups sitting out. I was hesitant because I saw the batter breaking and the top settling like it's been out for a while. I went on anyway. They waffle never formed completely. When I opened it, waffle was on both irons and was hard to take off. Cereal choices were raisin brand and fruit loops. There was not much milk left and it was sitting out with no ice to keep it cold. I didn't want to try that. I didn't try the coffee. The only thing I had was toast with butter. This was the WORST accomodations experience I have ever had. Their website looks wonderful and portrays their rooms as spacious, clean and new. They have wonderful customer reviews (that have to be fake). I was so excited about having found a pet-friendly motel with good rates and nice rooms that I decided to upgrade to their Queen Suite with kitchen. However, when we got there and checked into our suite, we got a bitter disappointment which continued to get worse through the duration of our stay. The room was disgusting inside and out! Our room faced a busy street that was full of homeless and other shady types hanging around the motel. It was raining that weekend and we weren't comfortable leaving our wet shoes outside or even the car overnight. The inside of the room looked like a crack house. It was tiny and had orange walls that were covered with stains, scuffs and cracks. The furniture in it looked like it came from Goodwill 20 years ago. It smelled stale and reeked of smoke. The bed looked old and dirty-- we didn't even want to sleep on it. The kitchen had nothing in it to cook or eat with. Why do you pay more for a kitchen that you can't use?? When I went to the front desk to complain about our room not resembling any picture or description on their website, I was offered to look at other rooms (not a suite) and change at no extra charge. First of all, I was getting a down grade and should have been reimbursed the difference, second of all, the other rooms were in no better condition, so there was no point in changing rooms. I went back to express my disappointment and was not given an apology or discount. I was given a phonebook to look for another place to stay. I was only in town for one night and it was already 6pm, so I told them that option was out of the question. It was a VERY disappointing experience, the manager would not come out and talk to me about the deception I felt between their website and their actual motel. they offered me no compensation for my very unpleasant experience. The place was disgusting and ended up being way more expensive than what you get. I would NOT recommend this motel. Beware of bedbugs! After staying here for two nights, I looked as though I had crossed through the mosquito-filled swamps of Papua New Guinea. For $60 a night, this is nowhere near America's best value. ITEM'S STOLEN FROM OUR ROOM!!!!!! BEWARE!!!! On the first night we arrived to our "best value" motel we were greeted with stains on our sheets and a broken air conditioner. I can live with that however when asked to clean up our room the next day we were horrified to return with items (including an iPhone) stolen by the maid who had cleaned it up! When confronting the manager and asking him to help us get the phone back he wouldn't even speak to us often times he would hide in the back office so he wouldn't have to deal with kids who "lost" their phone. Went in with a brand new credit card, only place I've used it, and the same card was used to make fraudulent purchases. Called into inform them of what happened and immediately went on the defensive. Not very cool I was just giving them a heads up so it doesn't happen to anyone else at their establishment, not requesting them to do anything about it. I didn't have a problem with this place. The staff was friendly. The room was somewhat updated. New bathroom and the tv was adequate. The bed was comfortable and the heater/AC was brand new. We had a kitchen as well. Full sized stove/oven, microwave, and small refrigerator. The rest of the room is abbot outdated, but clean. The free breakfast is minimal. Waffles, toast, and cereal. There is also a laundry room and small business center with one computer. This was one of the cheapest rooms we found, so the amenities in relation to the price was great. I'm not sure why everyone is expecting this place to be the Marriott with value pricing. They also allow pets which is a great option. read more

**iPhone stolen out of room** Terrible management. The room itself isn't that bad, but management is ridiculous. Before leaving the room in the morning I hid my work phone in a bag on the desk. When I get back to the room in the afternoon the phone is gone. It had been shut off so Find My iPhone couldn't work and when I called it, my voicemail had been erased. So definitely stolen. The management refused to understand and refused to accept that my phone had been stolen. Very dismissive and very rude. Filed police report. Not looking forward to small claims court to get reimbursed for my phone. Terrible place. Avoid at all costs. Lots of other cheap places nearby. read more

I was here for two months looking for housing in town. This motel is a great value. The rooms are clean, nice kitchen area, A/C, comfy bed, and pet friendly. The entire staff from management to cleaning service are all friendly and try to accommodate any request within reason. You might expect something bad because the price is so good but the rooms are bug free, comfortable, and maintained. Motel is ok. The neighborhood is the slums so don't make it a point to stick to local. north/east side of Eugene is nice. Northeast side it's a good area clean friendly people and lots of good stores. The motel is central eugene. The motel staff are friendly but quiet, continental breakfast is simple and pleasant. The rooms have their own microwave and working fridge. I gave this four stars because of the location. our motel room door did not shut completely most of the time,surprisingly nothing was stolen! if you stay here do not bring nice-looking clothes or look like you have money. check out the breweries they are great! Online this place seems promising, I even scored a good deal on a Queen Bedroom for my 5 night stay by placing a reservation online weeks in advance, seeing as this is my 1st review on yelp and its only 1 star, I clearly did not have a good stay. Upon arriving, the front desk area appeared unsanitary, cluttered, and not very appealing - which is whatever, it's not my room right? Even though this was during the increasing cases of corona-virus in Western U.S.A, it didn't bother me too much since the area I placed my hands appeared to be wiped (watermarks). The lady working the desk spoke broken English and was quiet, they asked for my ID, a debit card to put on file, and a $100 deposit in case of any damages, I handed her all 3 - she immediately handed me my PayPal debit card back, without taking a moment look on the back, by sliding it back to me followed by saying, "this doesn't have a name or any information on it, I need a real card", I immediately correct her by pointing out my name on the front, and flipping over the card to reveal what she took no care in looking for (I understand PayPal Business cards are different, but clearly looks like a debit card & had my name printed on the front) - she took a moment to realize it wasn't fake, looked at me and told me I was not allowed to have any friends/visitors over, I was confused by what she said & thought I heard wrong so I replied, "what do you mean I cant have any friends over? I cant bring friends inside?" which she replied back, "They can stay for 5 minutes then they need to leave". In the many places I've stayed, this was the first I've been told I was not allowed visitors, I have never heard of such a policy (extended periods of time like overnight Is different, she literally said only 5 minutes which is ridiculous), they not only have my debit card on file, but also charge an extra $100 for the stay as a deposit in case of damages. Having said that, there should be no reason I'm not allowed to have a friend hang out with me during the day, if measures are already taken to insure the room through an extra deposit and keeping my card on file. The lady working the front desk is very unprofessional, and shouldn't be representing RLH or ABVI; as for the room, the WIFI is terrible and constantly disconnects, the lamp is extremely ugly doesn't go with the room at all and is missing a plugin, one of the walls looks like someone body slammed it & they did a piss poor job of fixing it up, it is very warped/cracked, the Heater/AC is loud, there is no coffee machine in the room so don't expect getting any, the floors and walls have not been cleaned or sanitized showing clumps of spider webs in the corners, the mirror above the desk hadn't been cleaned & has finger smears/possible popped pimple residue; the Queen Room has the smallest cheapest microwave i've seen, it only fits personal frozen meals so you wont get a family dish in it, making meals limited and it hadn't been cleaned prior to my stay, so parts of the inside appear to have crusty food stuck on the walls, possibly even mold - I didn't want to smell it or try to clean it myself, I simply will just not use the microwave. As for the bathroom, over a dozen ants were crawling around the tub, I didn't even use the shower and water seemed to have pooled out of the drain over night on my first day, and the walls are a hideous pinkish-peach. The TV is cheap, the decor is super outdated, it needs new curtains and bed sheets, there's old piles of dog poop scattered around the front walkway towards my room door, though a positive note being there is plenty of storage space; after experiencing the low-par customer service, overall lack of cleanliness, and not-so-worth-it amenities, I will not come back here again - You will have a way better experience by spending a little extra money on a completely different place to stay, or by spending even less money at one of the local house hostels if you're on a budget. I'm glad I got a deal on the room, I definitely wouldn't have been happy paying full price, I got it for $48 per night (cheapest around this week) but have stayed in cheaper & more comfortable than this place, so unless they update the decor and terminate the lady working the front desk and replace her with someone who actually aims for customer satisfaction & cleanliness, I wouldn't spend more than $40 a night to stay in this dump & suggest you all stay away from this inn, most of the high star reviews are years old & are likely made by those who know an employee/employer. If the management ran this place correctly & cared about its customers, they'd steadily be getting 4-5 star reviews, an occasional 3 and maybe one or two 1 star review(s) by someone who shouldn't be leaving reviews to begin with.
