If I could give this dealership a negative 10 stars, I would. DO NOT PURCHASE a car from here…read morewithout having it checked by another body shop. When I purchased my car from here the only negative I would've said was that they played the, I got another guy coming from out of town to take a look at it. But that's par for the course. I'd noticed little things like trim pieces missing and or broken but okay, no biggie. Then it was me realizing that the clear coat was basically non existent on a car that was less than 5 years old... I caught a flat recently and had my tires changed by a mobile service. He noted that my other rear tire was also in bad shape and in danger of popping too. I had it replaced as well and he told me to get an alignment because of the way the tires were wearing, he could tell there was an alignment issue. Which brings me to today. I can't get an alignment because apparently there was a car accident previously (did not show up in my carfax). The passenger side quarter panel took a significant hit and the subframe is cracked. If you know anything about cars, this means that I'm basically paying for and driving a vehicle that should have been TOTALED!!! This is completely unacceptable and I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau. BUYER BEWARE!!!

I been shopping around for a Wagoneer for awhile and messaged them about an OTD price for me…read more Instead of replying to my question over email. They have blowing up my cell phone non stop and saying they can't give me a price unless I come in. I normally have the price pre-negotiated before coming in. I asked the sales person twice for the price and he refused to give me one. I told him that I didn't have time for games and left it like that. A few days later, he emailed and sent me a video. I asked him twice for a price and he still wouldn't give me one. He asked me what price I was thinking about. I gave him a super low price to mess with them before I was tired of their games. I would highly avoid this place as they need to learn some customer service and how to sell cars. I already picked up my Jeep out of state bc they played no games and got to point. If the GM is reading this, please retrain your employees on how deal business with customers. When a customer asks you for an OTD price, just give it to them. Stop dancing around and playing games and telling the customer has to come in for to get a price or refuse to give one. I wish I can give this place -20 stars. FYI, this sales man has blown up my cell phone at least 20 times. They seem desperate but have 0 customer service skills. If you're reading this, you know who I am referring to.

I recently bought a vehicle from this location, and while my salesperson Kevin was actually pretty…read moredecent and seemed like he meant well, the experience took a sharp turn for the worse once the sale was done. Before finalizing the deal, I made it very clear that I was only moving forward if the vehicle came with a working charger. Well, I got the car -- but the charger doesn't work at all. That's bad enough, but what's worse is how everything was handled after. I tried reaching out multiple times -- called at least 4 or 5 times -- just to speak with a manager. No response. When I finally got through to Nubian M. Holmes, who is apparently the Sales Manager, I was completely shocked by how rude and unprofessional he was. Instead of trying to help or even just listen, he brushed off the situation, offered no solutions, and actually told me: "If you're not happy, just bring the car back. We'll be waiting." Who says that to a customer? It wasn't just dismissive -- it was disrespectful. No accountability, no effort to make it right. Just pure ego and attitude. I honestly couldn't believe it. Let me be clear: this isn't about the car. It's about how they treat people after they get your money. That's when the mask comes off. And if this is the kind of leadership they have running the place, it explains a lot. The sales team might seem helpful at first, but once the papers are signed, you're on your own. No one will care. No one will help. And if something goes wrong? Good luck even getting a call back. Trust your gut and shop somewhere else. I wish I had.

BUYER BEWARE. This dealership does not even do basic safety checks on their vehicles. I bought a…read morecar on Tuesday right before they closed. Thirty minutes after leaving the lot, the car I bought for my daughter to drive back to college started shaking badly. We took it straight to a mechanic and found out it needs four new tires (they are warped, not bald, so the damage isn't visible), a bent rim, and new rear brakes -- over $1,000 in repairs just 30 minutes after purchase. They told us they inspect and service their cars. That is not true. I understand the car was sold "as is," but when a vehicle has serious safety issues immediately after leaving the lot, you would expect at least some good-faith effort to make it right. Instead, they said to my husband, "You should have bought the warranty." The warranty does not cover warped tires or brakes because those fall under normal wear and tear (except for the bent rim). This was not a cheap cash car -- we are making payments on it. If you buy from this place, bring your own mechanic because they clearly are not checking what they sell. Also, while we were there today, they were trying to sell a truck that needed new brakes, rotors, and had bald tires. They do not care about customer safety -- only money.

I have been researching and looking for several weeks for the 2007-2009 range of Acura MDX's, as…read morethe ones manufactured after that are known to have severe oil burning issues (need 1qt of oil added every 1,000 miles driven). My wife and I come from a military family background and I discovered these guys through USAA. We stopped here to purchase one of their MDX's posted on the USAA website and met up with Betty, who was professional and very nice. We planned on trading in our Kia Sorento, which is a 2011 and had less miles than the one we would have purchased here from Southern Star Automotive. After we test drove their 2009 Acura MDX and I inspected all four rotors I noticed that they were extremely rusted and needed to be replaced. I slid under the SUV and noticed an extreme amount of thick oil leaking under the vehicle and the oil was being sprayed all over the CX axles, it was thick like slug and damaged my shirt. After a few minutes David, their finance guy came out to get me and brought my wife and I into his office. David test drove our Sorento and said a check engine light had come on and that our engine needed to be replaced. Our fully loaded Sorento EX sells at most dealerships with about the same mileage for about $12,500-$14,995. After speaking with David, their finance guy, he told my wife and I that we needed to get rid of our vehicle and that he would give us $5,500 for it, because the engine needed a new timing chain. David insisted that we do not want to drive that thing, and because "we are a family business and we love families" that he would take care of us. He kept going on and on about how much they care about families and they are family people, etc... He was trying to get us to buy their MDX without the trade in as well. My master mechanic inspected our Kia, it turned out that we needed a new camshaft position sensor, which cost under $150 for parts and labor. As with the Timing chain that finance guy David kept saying needed to be replaced, it turns out that it is still good and should last at least 60k or more miles. It appears that David at Southern Star Automotive likes to use scare tactics to get customers to trade in their vehicles, hoping that they will believe what he says, and sell their vehicle to him. David was hoping that we would sell a $12,000+ SUV to him for $5,500 so that he could have made a huge profit. I have reported these guys to USAA, they have no business getting referrals from military and military families. Not only are they selling vehicles with known issues that their mechanics could have easily spotted just by putting them on a lift in their shop, they employee David who is probably a family member and is literally trying to rob people blind by scaring them into trading a vehicle they think will falling apart. Stay away from Southern Star Automotive. Do not let the family owned and operated fool you, you are not their family, just $$$... [Review #447] (32nd Review of 2017)

I asked KEVIN one very important question: has the car ever been SMOKED IN? He says "oh, noooo!" Was his response and I trusted him, BIG MISTAKE! So I had my brother who had just had knee surgery to go check out the car before I drive from Memphis to get it. My brother gets there and immediately knows it reeked of smoke even though they had tried to get it cleaned up and get the smell out. Then when I told them how disappointed I was with their lack of business ethics, that they would lie for the sake of one car sale, he tries to tell me my brother was wrong. That they had been burning incense in the car to get it ready for me! Ha! That was the most ridiculous lie I'd ever heard! At that point, he should have just been honest but nope. Sticking to his story. If he was lying about that, what else would he lie about?? (and the rest of the staff bc I talked to several people there, not just him)! LET THE BUYER BEWARE!! THESE ARE NOT HONEST PEOPLE TO BUY FROM!! RUN AWAY!!

Prior to authorizing a down payment, I confirmed with dealership staff that the total purchase price would equal the advertised price. After I provided written authorization for a refundable deposit contingent upon an independent inspection, the dealership introduced additional mandatory dealer-imposed fees totaling $1,245, including documentation, administrative, and reconditioning charges. These fees were not disclosed in the advertised price and were required in order to complete the transaction. Imagine, the dealership was trying to add on charges after the fact from them cleaning the car to sell! When I objected and requested that the dealership honor the advertised price inclusive of mandatory dealer fees, communication ceased on their end, not returning my messages. The vehicle was temporarily listed as pending and later relisted at a higher price on their site. Although no funds were processed, this conduct raises concerns regarding advertised price transparency and disclosure of mandatory dealer charges in direct violation of Georgia anti bait-and-switch laws. *UPDATE AFTER COMPANY RESPONSE*: As clearly admitted by the company, they completely agree with my entire review. Their made up bait-and-switch fees (such as attempting to add on a charge for cleaning the car) were told to me AFTER I had asked them for the total and provided written authorization (per their instructions) for a charge to my credit card based on that total, out-the-door price. Attempting to keep this original review brief, I left off many details. But here is another point which others should know: since I was buying from out of state, I wanted a dealer pre-inspection (of which I was going to pay from out of my own pocket). The salesman kept trying to get me to not send it to the local Audi dealer, but a CarX down the street. That raised more red flags.
