Just don't. I bought a bike here about a year ago. Took 3 months to get them to fill out paperwork and send it to the DMV because they lost the plate that belonged to my bike and kept insisting that it was on the bike when they sold it. The plate in the advertisement photos didn't even match the plate that was supposed to be on the bike. Chopshop??? Every time I called they blew me off. I ended up deploying and since they are so veteran friendly they treated my wife like trash when she had to start calling them about the plate. We finally get the license plate and registration that I payed for when I purchased the bike through them, a week later I get another bill from the DMV because they hadn't payed the registration for a year and I payed for 11 months that I didn't even own the bike. The bike I purchased was rebuilt and blacked out at their shop. They supposedly put an S&S air cleaner on it, not top of the line but still a great air cleaner, I took the filter off today, sure enough I get the cover plate off and it's a stock Harley filter underneath, pretty sure that's not supposed to be there. They put a 2-1-2 exhausted on and the clamps are so jacked up, a hole was worn into the pipe from rubbing. Key takeaway for anyone thinking about going here, the warranty is 90 days so they don't really stand by their work, the bike looks great but when you look closely you can find the subpar maintenance, I would rather spend 10-15% more at the dealer so that when I have a problem they fix it and don't ignore the issue. From a current active duty guy to a veteran friendly/owned shop, you're a disgrace. read more

Absolutely horrible. Do not buy from them. Do not trust them. They will rip you off. I bought my first bike from them. Immediately had to take it to a mechanic because it had bad speed wobbles. The whole front motor mount was disconnected. The mechanic also showed me other parts that indicate the bike had been in a crash prior. Do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Extremely Poor customer service. They treated me like if they were doing me a favor by order my parts and working on my bike. They kept making excuses on why the parts were not delivered on time. I had to continuously call for the status of the parts and it was always the same answer they are on their way, but they weren't! Finally after two months of waiting the parts arrived and they couldn't even give me a courtesy call ! This shop used to be awesome and used to have outstanding customer service. I don't understand what happened maybe there was a change in management or they just don't have the passion or desire that they once did. Save yourself the time and avoid the frustration that I went through dealing with American V-twin,stay away! I will not allow them to work on my bikes anymore there are other shops in the area that will treat you with the respect that you deserve! I will never order any parts from American v-twin again! I don't recommend this shop to anyone unless you want poor customer service and a whole lot of excuses! read more

Don and Aaron were great. I didn't have the best credit and they were still able to finance at a great rate. No hassle sale either. They walked me around outside in the pouring rain to show me their inventory. Ended up with a Fat Boy Lo. Don was super informative when I picked the bike up and went over it from top to bottom with me. They really make you feel at home and treat you right. This review is coming from San Francisco and long awaiting.. sorry for the delay, but here it goes....! I was looking for a new bike and stumbled across one on Craigslist that American Vtwin had put up. I talked to them on the phone once inquiring about the bike and for more pictures, sure enough they were on it immediately. They followed through with text messages to see if I received the pictures and reassured me that if I had any more questions feel few to reach out. They were not pushy one bit as I waited a week or so to return a call to them. Once I did return the call I asked about putting a deposit down on the bike over the phone and possible shipping cost and what not to get the bike to me in SF. They helped out determining the most cost efficient shipping cost if I were to get the bike and again answered all the questions I had. I mentioned that I was super serious and I was coming from San Francisco the next day with a truck to come pick up the bike. They were in constant communication with me and trusted me as I would not flake on them and they would hold the bike for me(they told me this about a week before I actually went down there). As I got down there, I got a chance to meet the owner and talk pricing with him. with a few changes on the bike such as grips and a different crashbar I ended up buying the bike. I couldn't be happier with the service I received from American VTwin from the very beginning of text messaging to them helping load the bike into my truck for the long ride back to San Francisco. I appreciate everything they have done for me and I will definitely recommend them and if another bike is in my future, I will for sure be choosing them to give my business to. Took my 07 FLHX to these guys with a transmission bearing issue that I had fixed by another shop. These guys did it right and for a good price. A few years later I stopped by the shop to look around and when Don saw my bike he remembered everything they did to it. To me that speaks volumes. My experience at American V-twin was terrible and ended up costing me a significant amount of money and time to fix what Don did. He not only did shoddy work but stole my $400 primo basket off my bike without telling me and replaced it with another brand that isn't even in business anymore! There was NO reason for Don to remove that part. It was 100% fine. The shitty basket he put on didn't even fit! It rubbed up against the motor plate. He denies everything! I went there for a completely different reason. He kept my bike for 6 months only to replace a belt! Worse, he hydro locked my front pully but adding too much lock tight thus not allowing proper torque to pully which ended up stripping my insert. The problems I found AFTER picking up my bike were endless. He fucked up my crank shaft by jamming the front pully on with an impact wrench when the splines were not aligned. Anyway, it goes on and on...A TERRIBLE experience. It took a lot of work, time and money to get my bike up and running. So...how much did you get for my Primo basket Don?? I am FURIOUS and beyond disappointed with your lack of ethics and shoddy business practices. read more

Steer clear of this business. Bunch of broken promises and lies. Tech messed up my O2 sensor causing me to buy a new one because they said that it was me who damaged it. It wasn't damaged when the bike was delivered to them. Went in to do a wheel powder exchange and showed up at 9am. I waited around until 11am and asked when it would be done and they said to come back at 230pm. Came back and nothing on the bike was done because the wheels wasn't compatible with my bike. They could have called me hours before to let me know but figured they would just waste my time. Scheduled another appointment, that was cancelled because someone "stole" the wheels they just got powdered. Offered to come get my bike and take the wheels off mine to get powdered then reinstall. They ended up having my bike for 3 weeks to do this. Had to call constantly get updates on the status and they could never give me any information that made me feel at ease and a valued customer. Next, a deal was made by Aaron and I that they would replace my brake pads at no charge for the inconvenience of my whole experience. Upon pickup, the cost of the pads was included in my invoice and he denied ever saying he was providing and installing them at no charge. Just the worst experience I have ever had with a repair shop. On a side note, Ben was more than helpful and understanding at my frustrations. Aaron called my bike a POS and to bring the full payment in cash because that is the only way they would release my bike to me. Then he just hung up on me. So in a nut shell, this business is absolutely awful and will never see another penny from me nor will I ever recommend anyone to do business with them. read more
