We've eaten at American Table many times, and it has become one of our favorite local restaurants. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are more than reasonable, especially for the quality you receive. This is a family run business, and it shows. Everyone works incredibly hard to make sure customers have a great experience. A special shout out to the waitress and the wonderful lady who buses the tables. They are constantly on the move, hustling from the moment they arrive until closing, and they always do it with a smile. Passing thru a place where there doesn't seem to be many options, this was actually a good experience. It appears to be an old chain restaurant building, scrambler Marie I suppose. The waitress was nice, accommodating, and attentive enough. The space was clean enough, but needed updates for sure. My mon ordered goulash, and was okay with it , just thought it was heavy in the cheese. I ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap, it was good, my only complaint is I wish they used blue cheese or American cheese even instead of shredded cheese. When you pile the shredded cheese in a tortilla,and you get a big bite, all that cheese feels dry and powdery. My daughter didn't like the Tenders but enjoyed the fries. My husband liked his burger but wanted pink inside and it wasn't. The chicken dumpling soup was good, and homemade. read more

So, I really enjoy a home style meal. This place fits the bill. I ordered the walleye dinner and was not disappointed, very moist and tender. Heard a customer compliment about the Mac and cheese which is another one of my favorites. Friendly waitresses and I'm assuming the owner was there too, and he was friendly as well. Matter of fact is he was doing some of the cleanup which impressed me. Comfortable seating and bright and airy but nothing fancy. read more

If you know me at all, you know I absolutely hate The Scrambler Marie chain, so I was a bit apprehensive about American Table which is in an old Scrambler's location with literally nothing changed in regards to layout or atmosphere. But the food and service? They are great! I've been surprised and impressed that we can walk in on any given Sunday, including during holidays, when the restaurant is seemingly as busy as it could possibly be, and we still get our food quickly, with consistant quality and a smile each time. So can't lie! The food was great! Service wasn't the greatest but servers are having to deal a lot more as far as social distancing guidelines etc. My bill came to $22.02 (or something odd change). I left an $8 cash tip on the table. (Servers have been out of work for a while so I try to be generous when ordering out.) Used my credit card to pay, wasn't given anything to sign. She did ask if I wanted my receipt so no big deal. Or so I thought. Just checked my bank account and they charged me $32.02. So I was super generous and left over a 30% tip, and that's not enough? Yeah, they said I can come get my money back but I shouldn't have to!! This shouldn't be happening! read more

The owner here is unprofessional. From what I saw, she treats her employees like garbage, in front of customers at that. I don't care how good or bad the food is, what I witnessed was deplorable. I would definitely spend my money elsewhere and not condone the lack of professionalism in this establishment. There are much better places that I would rather eat at. If I could give zero stars I would, absolutely unacceptable. I would not recommend eating here at all. This is my husband's family favorite breakfast stop when we head back to good ole Oregon, Ohio to visit. The America Table reminds me of a family-owned restaurant. Nothing fancy. Nothing too expensive. The food has always been pretty good and the portions are huge! I always get the veggie omelet and it's served with a huge side of hash browns and toast. My husband usually gets the big AL special, which includes pancakes, eggs, hash browns and different types of breakfast meat - all for $9.99. It's outrageous - we can never finish our meals, but we do a pretty good job of trying. Looking for a decent breakfast for a great value- American Table is your place! Been eating here almost every Tuesday morning for the last six years or so. The food has always been good, give or take a little. The service, I have learned that if I start with a big smile it always comes back good, thus always making the service good. This happens most every place I go. After reading the reviews it seems that most of the lower ranking reviews that most of these people are from out of town. Come on people that give bad rankings, have you never had a bad day from time to time. I have been to American table for many years. I use to enjoy it until today. I did not get my food for 45 minutes. They were busy, but when the customers that came after me were served first , I got upset. When we finally received our food my meal was not as I ordered. No tomato or lettuce. So I had to give it back to waitress. At first I said ok it's not the waitress fault. But when she ignored me when I told her about my order, then I thought ok. I don't know what's the matter with her. Then I waited another 10 minutes for my meal. I asked her for the check and forget the meal. She just totally walked pass me and charged me at the register without handing me the check. They definitely not going to give my money to this local business. read more

Food has been either wrong or not good got something as simple as a grilled cheese sandwich and the cheese was not melted and the bread was over toasted like they threw the bread in a toaster and tossed cheese on it after the bread was toasted worst grilled cheese I have ever had. read more

Always a great place to eat. We always have trouble making our mind up what to eat cause everything they got is great. The salads are out of this world so is the broasted chicken. We ordered take out today and received horrible service from the owners wife! I usually don't write negative reviews but this lady's attitude was beyond unacceptable. First off, we're told 10 minutes for our order then go to pick it up. Turns out they gave it to someone else! Then while trying to sort it out, she gets rude with us, like it's our fault you gave someone else my food...? Finally once we get home, we realize they still didn't manage to get our food right and we were missing part of our order. Also... you should probably take a second look at social distancing guidelines for restaurants. You're sitting people too close together. And maybe consider sitting people in the order they came? I watched 2 groups of people get seated before someone that was waiting before I came in. Seriously, it can't be that hard! Needlessly to say, I've seen enough and will NEVER order here again. Especially considering this is the level of service you receive from the OWNER's WIFE! She should be the example of excellent customer service but instead she's beyond rude. read more

American Table is a staple! Great food, friendly service and did I mention great food. Don't believe any negative reviews. My wife and I have been going here for years and the food is always spot on. I would recommend any of the omelettes or the salads they are huge. The gyro salad with extra beets and extra feta is my favorite! Even when they're busy the servers have a smile and time for small chit chat which is awesome! Definitely try they're all you can eat perch dinner it's top notch crispy outside moist flaky inside just wish the fries were all you can eat lol. read more

I was her a month ago & had a dinner. The waitress & hostess with both exceptionally rude so I thought I would give it another try in spite of that in case it was my perception....Big error. This time we had breakfast... This waitress had a terrible Toledo attitude....but I thought "give her a pass, she lives here. I'd have an attitude too." Lets see. Got them scrambled hard, steak medium well, hashbrowns cooked to the minimum standard & toast ice cold...I didn't even bother sending it back for several reasons I will not disclose...The waitress literally threw the dishes at us upon serving...I was shocked just at that. We have been here several times and loved it but today was awful!!! The waitress brought my boyfriend his salad and dumped the salad dressing all over the table and walked away! We flagged her down and told her she dumped it and she said 'ok' and walked to another table to clean it off. When she finally came back she handed us napkins and walked away! Our waitress was having a bad day or something. She looked at us like we were some kind of something.. She gave us dirty looks the whole time we were there. The pancakes I ordered were burnt on the bottom... Like I wouldn't notice. They were also loaded with imitation vanilla flavoring. She took them back and brought me French toast. I was the dishwasher there and trust me you don't want to eat there. There were nats flying around in the kitchen and that made me leave.
