I cheated on my other nail place and decided to try the new American Nail Bar in Euless. That was a big $64 manicure mistake! I noticed American Nail Bar while we were out to dinner the night before. They were still having a grand opening discount of 20% off and they do lashes. I thought I could potentially save time and trips by going here to get my nails and lashes done. But first I wanted to get my nails done before committing. On a Sunday morning the place wasn't crowded. I was barely greeted by the person at the front desk....a stark difference compared to the warm welcome I received from day one at the other nail salon. I chose a manicure and dip polish. I didn't like that their dip colors are on a key ring sample...not in a neat book like my other nail spa. The nail technician did a fine job on my nails, however she was talking on the phone through bluetooth Airpods while working. I suppose that's no different than talking to a coworker but at the same time it doesn't seem right to talk on the phone while working on a client. I really liked that the Pearl Manicure scrubs/moisturizers came in pre-packaged envelopes and everything smelled great. On the day that I went they still had the sign out for 20% off for the grand opening. When I checked out I was shocked that my total was $64! That means the manicure was $45 and the polish was $19! I have never paid that much at my regular nail place. They did not give me the 20% discount for whatever reason and I just didn't ask because I knew I was never coming back. I'm getting 3 weeks out of my manicure and I feel like I should after paying $64 plus tip! read more

Love how my nails came out! This is my sisters regular nail place, & it did not disappoint. The staff is super friendly, love the complimentary drinks and how attentive they are. John did my nails, he immediately asked about my length preference & went to work! My nails did turn out a bit too short than I wanted...but to his defense, I have really long nail beds. John was super professional, & focused which I enjoyed. It has always made me nervous when the nail technician is distracted or carrying conversations with others since that's usually when I get cut. ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTING! This place has decided they are not serving minorities. Backstory. I've been to this place twice a month since May, spent nearly $2k on mani/pedis for my daughters ex-wife, and multiple friends (and have purchase mani $100 gift cards there) I tip a minimum of $20 and my daughters I get them to tip $10 to teach them the art of showing gratitude (gratuity) for service provided. We loved the place. UNTIL TODAY!!! Called today to schedule an appt for us all and was told they had no appointments available for today and wasn't taking walk-ins as they were short-handed. Okay, no problem. But something didn't sit right. There was a different tone and no customer service as if we have a cancellation we can take your number and fit you in or set me one for another day. Had my ex-wife (white) call immediate, less then three minutes, after I hung up with them and the tone of the same person who answered the phone was inviting and made an appt immediately with her and even said she could just walk-in. When I jumped on the call and asked why was I told there was no appt nor walk-in availability just three minutes prior I was received with confrontation and disrespect. If you are a minority no matter what your financial or social standing this is not the place for you. Don't spend money at places that neither welcome you nor want your dollar. When they show you who they are...BELIEVE THEM! I'm going to take my $2k ($400+ a month) business to somewhere that will accept all people of all social and financial standing. FYI...I'm a business owner, dual degree, financially secure citizen and I live in the neighborhood. WILL NOT BE BACK!!!! What a shame. read more

My nails were not done in the shape that I asked, but I did not ask her to start over because I did not have time for it. I was charged for her mistake and when argued with, the manager's response was "we are not going to say who was right or wrong". They took the extra charge off of the tip. Now, less than a week later, one of my nails has already broken because it is so thin and was not sealed properly. All of the nails are different levels of thick and thin and are so uneven, but again i didn't have time for her to start over. Stupidly, i didn't ask for my receipt otherwise I would go back up there and have them fix this one nail. I got my nails done for graduation, a week early so that I would not have to worry about it this weekend. I've been going to American Nail Bar for dip powder since November 2018 and have never had any issues until this most recent time when Henry got ahold of my nails. For starters, Henry rushed through the job, it maybe took him 30 minutes from start to finish. I am willing to look past the sloppy application and weird shaping, but the amount of times he cut me is unacceptable!!! Henry not only cut me with the drill but he also sliced me with the nail file. The whole time Henry did my nails he "joked" around about how this was her first time to do nails, come to find out I think he was serious. I left with every single nail bumpy or uneven and I had a nail that was completely crooked and I only went back inside because my friend who is with me basically forced me to I didn't even bring up her attitude because I was already shaking I was so upset because I had never experienced it there before. So i went back and asked them if they would re-do. They sat me down and the nail person had an attitude, started speaking to her colleagues in Vietnamese and then telling me it was because my nails were yellow. I told her surely not, my nails were clear before I came in yesterday. Then she said it was probably the chemicals from house cleaning. Again, no, I haven't had a chance to clean in quite some time. ;) Then she said, oh, must be what I'm eating or cooking with. I finally had enough and told her, no, this is the same manicure I always get and I've never had this problem before. This place took not responsibility, tried to make me feel like this was all my fault. Anyhow, tipped $15.00 for the effort and left. Later that day, notice my nails were again, yellow! But only part of them. I looked up on online and I believe it has to do with the quality of their gel polish or their UV light. The attitude about the place is what gets me! Nancy did my pedicure and she was quick and got my feet super smooth and did a great job on the shape and polish. 'Crazy John' as he's known did my dip manicure and did a great job. I recently left this nail bar and have never felt so cheated and disrespected! When I came into the shop I requested a pedicure w/ gel and acrylic full set on my nails. I asked how much was gel for the toes and she said an extra $20, but wasn't sure since she was just filling in. I filled out the slip for services which was pointless because they continued asking what I wanted the entire time. I started with the pedicure they gave me all these gel nails to choose, but then when it came down to painting she went and got the regular polish. I told her no gel then she asked all over again my color? At this point someone was doing my nails, I filled out that I wanted an acrylic full set with color acrylic. They gave me gel to select. I ended up asking is this gel or colored acrylic she then got me a whole other book of nails. Again why did I fill out this sheet if they were this confused? These services were ok, but I did not like feeling rushed, not listened to, and cut repeatedly. After finishing I went to pay and the lady who was filling in at the front told me my price was $90. I gave my card but said "huh" now I knew it was some sort of discount but even with a discount $90? Sounded fishy. I don't like arguing so I planned on leaving and not coming back but as soon as I said "huh" she started telling me the breakdown of charges.. which still didn't make sense, I set there trying to figure it out and the manager immediately chimes in YOU GOT A DISCOUNT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WAY MORE! (Clearly if I came here I was ready to pay discount or not, sense I knew nothing about a discount until I walked in) he said this repeatedly while the lady was talking to me. I've already paid at this point, the receipt is printed, I'm not arguing just trying to think to myself how the heck is it so much. They both begin again trying to explain the charges. I began questioning the charges once I saw them on the receipt. They charged me $25 for a acrylic full set, $20 for CLEAR gel(not color gel) which I've usually been charged $5 , $5 for the shape and $5 for add tip overlay. I asked for a set of nails with tips why would I be charged for overlay?? They then tried to tell me what a overlay was and I explained and showed them she cut my entire nail off and added a nail how is that an overlay? The manager began getting loud, after I said they should tell people what they are paying for while doing nails so they won't be surprised at the register. He tells me here I'll refund you $5... $5 that's an insult, I told them to keep it as a tip and I won't return.. he only offered so I would leave I'm sure, not because he knows the charges are bogus. this whole discount thing is how they get you then they up charge you to get what they really want. I have typically frequented Grand Spa Nails of Gladeparks around the corner but lately the service is stuffy and seems to expensive if the quality of service isn't going to match the price. Cindy did my pedicure today. She was great, gentle, and gave a nice massage. For $27, I expected a little more though. I think you pay extra here for the upscale location more than the service. My favorite hole-in-the-wall nail place is cluttered and the ambiance is lacking compared to this place, but for $20, I get a great, lasting pedicure and a FABULOUS massage.
