Came here to get my car inspected. The gentleman here were very sweet and courteous. There were a few cars here and they made sure to give me a time frame as to when my car would be available and actually did it quicker than expected. Zach who assisted me was very funny and also very kind. If you go there definitely ask for him! read more

Other places were gonna charge me an arm and leg but they didn't and the work was better than other shops too. I highly recommend this place to anyone that needs tires inspections and obviously exhaust work. Thank you Phil and JP. read more

i went to get my muffler changed and they also did an inspection .After leaving the premises i noticed my windscreen with a stone chip .I didn't go to the shop with the chip.As i drove a few blocks in slow traffic, I called back the shop and told them they broke my wind screen they said come back without denying it .To my surprise they try to convince me it was a stone did it .The manager brought out some mixture and applied it to the chip .It was a piece of metal from a grinding machine .A word of advice do a video on your vehicle before leaving it at a repair shop .now i am stuck with buying a replacement. read more

I have a 2009 Hyundai Sonata that was making some loud noises and my inspection is up this month. I was afraid that I was going to have to pay a fortune to fix the exhaust system. The guys at American muffler put my car up on the lift and showed me the 2 places that had rotted away and were making the noise. They said it would cost $270 to cut out the 2 sections of pipe and repair. I felt that was very fair and they had me out and running in under 1 hour. I would definitely use them for any other muffler repairs on my cars. read more

After my regular mechanic said i needed a patch job on my muffler and shoyld cist about $60, i went to midas, meineke and a local shop. I was told I needed a whole new muffler and tailpipe. I then stumbled across the reviews for this shop. Knowing that the other 3 shops were lying to me, I figured I had nothing to loose. This guy clipped to brackets holding the muffler and welded on new ones it cost me $60. I just found a new repair shop. THANK YOU AMERICAN MUFFLER SHOP!!! read more

A friend of mine that has a lot of classic cars takes his cars for muffler and exhaust work over at American muffler. He suggested when it came time for me to get exhaust work on my classic 1968 barracuda to check them out , A couple months prior I had purchased my own original style mufflers for the car and needed them installed. I called and spoke to a guy named Phil who told me to bring the car in and it wouldn't be a problem he will take care of it. I arrived and within a half hour they got my car in removed and replaced the mufflers and the clamps and welded the pipes and fitted them perfectly to my new mufflers. I was charged $160 which I thought was a more than fair price. they fussed over the car and made sure everything lined up as to the exhaust tips and so the pipes were aligned correctly, it was very apparent that they were completely professional at doing this kind of work. Absolutely a happy customer!!! read more

Everybody here was amazing. I came on New Year's Eve because some other mechanic I went to he didn't do a good enough job on what needed to be done. After I brought my car here the inspection was free and they knew instantly what was wrong and they worked with me on the price. This shop has honest people in it and I highly recommend bringing your car here to get it done right and correct. read more

One of the best skilled mechanics around. Very reasonable. They do not guess they will find the problem and fix the 1st time. They are no nonsense shop. Excellent and speedy service. So nice to drive in with a need for a new muffler and welcomed with no problem. Very reasonable price, too.

Excellent service!! Thank you for taking car of my truck. Hope you enjoyed the donuts

Never again ! Horrible customer service.. I walked in and advised the guy of my exhaust issue.. believe he's the owner tall older guy with white hair..I told him what I needed he asked me who sent me ? Which I thought was weird.. I replied I went to 2 auto shops and they sent me here since it's exhaust related. He answers.. well you should have just gone back to where you originally had the exhaust put on with an attitude.. He kept asking as I gave him a blank stare.. now at this point he's working my nerves and I told my self to just calm down and Crazy thing is I was recommended by a co worker to come here.. but I'll never come back to this place or recommend it as I wouldn't want the next person treated with horrible customer service read more

Muffler shop that couldn't or refused to change the muffler on my car , said they dont know how to replace a exhaust on a Porsche

Went here for an inspection, then some douchebag told me they don't do inspections, only to find out later when my aunt called and said she had gotten her car inspected there a month ago, that they won't do an inspection if they don't know you. Pure fucking scumbag liars. I wouldn't bring your car here if I were you. Sad too, because they're a local business not a chain, but now they're proven liars, wtf else are they lying about. Fuck this place. read more

I can only speak about the muffler work because it's the only work I've ever had done. They fix your problem the way you would do it if you were fixing it yourself. What do I mean by that ? Before I started going here I would go to Midas for muffler work. Not one time did Midas ever say I needed anything less than an entire muffler system. These guys will cut out the hole (if it's in the pipe) and weld a new piece in. This saves you money and makes you want to go back the next time. read more

Not the friendliest people. Had a leak on my Ypipe. They fixed the leak but the car sounds and performs horribly.

I bought my car here after being referred by my mechanic. I needed to have the flex pipe replaced. Upon arrival I was greeted by a condescending older white male, and the mechanic that inspected the car was no better. He was rude, and insisted the motor mounts needed replacement before flex pipe could even be fixed. I went back to my mechanic, who confirmed nothing was wrong with motor mounts. Needless, to say I will never go back to this place and my mechanic will no longer refer customers there. read more

I needed exhaust work done on my wife's car. It sounded like a race car and when I looked underneath, I could clearly see that the pipe had rotted out right after the cat and the bolts were rotted out too. A couple of friends had recommended them to me so I went there on a Saturday morning and Joey took care of it. I know for a fact that any other muffler shop would have tried to sell me an expensive catalytic converter and then some.. Joey simply cut off and welded a new piece of pipe and it was done for a very reasonable price!!! I was in and out in an hour and the car is QUIET ... they definitely have a new customer! read more

Super honest courteous and old school mechanic that owns and runs this place. My mom swears by this place but I don't trust them. My battery recently died and we brought it in to get replaced. The radio was working just fine when we bought it in. After they replaced the battery, the radio has had no power. I know it's an easy fix but I really don't have the time to get this fixed now. Would have preferred if they could have checked everything before they gave my car back . Bring you my car to get one thing fixed and you screw up something else. Go figure. read more

Came across this place by chance. I was driving around and my turn signal suddenly stopped working. I pulled in and asked for help. They took the car right in. Ordered the part. Replaced 2 bulbs. While I waited. Holy shit. Didn't think places like this existed anymore. Considering that I live 15 miles away in queens and they're located in Long Island I'm absolutely coming back. Plus they could have charged me double what they did. Honest mechanics. Yeah you heard right. Honest mechanics. I was all done within 90 minutes.
