Poor customer service, very unprofessional staff. 2 stars instead of 1 only because the technician did his job well. I called early as a courtesy while driving to my appointment. Staff picks up "Hello", not "Mavis Tires". I tell him I'm pulling up now for my appointment . Guy says nothing. I tell him again and say I'm just letting you know I'll be there on time. Guy says "Uh-huh" I am at their front door at 9am for my appt, the door is locked. I go back to my car to wait, the counter person unlocks door as I'm going to my car and he walks away from the door and just gestures to me to open it (anyone else would've held the door). I get to his counter, the guy is just looking at me, no How can I help you, No Good morning. I inform him about my appt, he starts typing, still hasn't said a word. The other staff member who answered the phone earlier is on couch with cell phone speaker blasting as he yells into his phone during conversation. I go to wait in a DD nearby, I get back yo Mavis and my car was done, yet I'd gotten no call or text that they were finished. I paid the guy who is still barely talking except to offer me an alignment. As I was leaving, I asked the other (cell phone) guy a question who seemed clearly annoyed. I asked the counter guy if they'd get the mechanic so that I could tip him, apparently that was annoying to them as well. The mechanic did thank me for the tip which was more than the counter guy did when I paid. Ther are several Mavis centers in very close distance to this one. I didnt want to make a review bc I like this place so much and I want none of you to ruin it. But they deserve their stars at this location. Ive been to other Mavis locations and this spot takes care of their customers. Anita is a sweetheart and Jewel is a gentleman, they take care of the customers . The garage guys try their best to work with you as well. Prices are regular nothing out of the ordinary and they do work with you as well. I always come here for my tires and services, they know my car has been through it and they dont judge me for it. Ill continue to come here. read more

Leaving this review directly after leaving this establishment. I set an 8am NYS inspection appointment on the snowy morning of MLK day 2025. I always typically set my self up psychologically for disappointment just so I can be ready.. In my head I thought the same old typical inspection excuses we come to hear... "sorry the tech is not here, our machine is down, we are booked up today" but what I got was a wonderful welcome, immediate attention and by showing up on time , I was out in less then 30 min with a smile on my face... This particular Mavis Discount tire in Franklin Square had never ever let me down. From the fantastic staff to the trustworthy people here. They have never tried to sell me on anything they would not recommend as a consumer them self. That is the professionalism I've come to respect here , and why they have earned my business time and time again. The manager there has been there for years and always treats me with respect and professionalism. Have no fear, this Mavis should be the shining example amongst all others!! I went to the location in Bethpage, NY because I had a flat tire. The person who spoke to me was a young guy by the name of Christian. They checked my tire and told me I need it a new tire because it had a hole in the sidewall. I left the tire and told Christian, that I would come back the next day. I did but I had to wait as there were other customers that had shown up ahead of me. I observed how Christian handled all the customers that came in. He was professional, very polite, and gave everybody a true time estimate. Would I recommend this place? Hands down, and more so if you are dealing with Christian. What a nice young man. With his attitude and customer care, he will definitely go places. When my car was finished, he rung me up, wished me well, and thanked me for giving the store the business. I came here to replace my Michelin Defenders tires which is horrible in the snow with the Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady tires. The Goodyears has the 3 snow mountain peaks which should be able to handle the Northeast snow. I cannot wait to try the new tires in the snow. The staff is very friendly, fast and does not try to upsell you. They did a courtesy brake check and showed me that my rear pads and rotors needed replacing and told me to replace it soon. Should've taken my advice the first time, brought my car here for an inspection. Was told it needed new brakes and an oil change. Came to pick up the car eight hours later (Mind you I brought the car in at 9:30 in the morning) (also when I brought the car in asked them to check the brakes and how much it would cost if they needed to be replaced they said $179) and was told the cost was $500. This was because they replaced the front brake rotors, tell me when someone asked you if you agree to replacing brakes what do you think, brake pads? I asked someone else in the store and they agreed,that when someone says you need your brakes they're talking about your brake pads. Needless to say they have lost a customer I am never going there again. read more

I went here on 5/9/21 to have a headlight bulb replaced. The young man behind the counter said let me see walk outside lifted up my hood. Looked and said no you have go to a body shop. So I left went to the one on Franklin Ave. Bulb was in truck in less then 5 minutes. BEWARE!!! DO NOT GO TO THE MAVIS ON HEMPSTEAD TPKE IN FRANKLIN SQUARE!!!! HORRIBLE! I went yesterday evening to get new tires and for them to install the new rims for my car. Everything was going well, got it done and left. As I get into the car the tire pressure light went on. Of course I said maybe it's just the new valves they put on that has the sensor going on. So I decided I will go back Saturday to get this done. As I was driving home, I can feel the car moving more to the right. A car only does that when the car hasn't been aligned. So once again I said, I will deal with that as well on Saturday. Got home and looked at the receipt and the guy put on the receipt that I declined the wheel alignment, which isn't true because they never mentioned to me about options to get the wheel alignment or not. I automatically thought the alignment would come with the balancing and etc. This morning, 5a.m. I get into my car to go to the gym and as I drive off I can hear noise, as if the tire is flat. I turn around on my block, go home and park the car and see that the right side tire is flat. In my head I am like how could this be I just got these tires... I had to take the day off from work and deal with this problem since this is my source of transportation to work and business related moves. Long story short, I went to another Mavis in Franklin Square , on Franklin Avenue and the guys here, Russ & Luis informed me that the valve the people in the other Mavis put on wasn't put on correctly resulting in air leaking out the tire... SO ONCE AGAIN BEWARE! DONT GO TO THE MAVIS ON HEMPSTEAD TPKE IN FRANKLIN SQUARE NEXT TO WENDYS!!! UPDATE: NOT ONLY DID YOU FUCKING IDIOTS DO A HALF ASS JOB WITH INSTALLING MY TIRES, BUT I HAVE TO GO BACK TO ANOTHER MAVIS LOCATION BECAUSE THE TPMS LIGHT CAME ON IN MY CAR TO COME FIND OUT THE REAR TIRE SENSORS ARE FUCKING BROKEN AND WASNT NOTIFIED. Beware! If you have a wheelchair van, do not bring it to Mavis on Hempstead Tpke in Franklin Square for an inspection. My 2014 Chrysler Town & Country is in pristine condition with only 9,000 miles on it. It underwent a factory wheelchair conversion at one of the country's largest adaptive mobility facilities when it was new almost 8 years ago. (The converter's name and contact info is prominently displayed on the vehicle.) It isn't a so-called "dropped floor" conversion, doesn't have an airbag suspension, doesn't "kneel" nor have any complicated electronic mods. Instead, it is a standard rear-entry factory conversion which enables a wheelchair to roll-up a manual, pull-down ramp installed inside the rear hatch. There are thousands like it on the road. It has been inspected without incident since it was new, including by this Mavis facility last year. Nevertheless, after it was in the shop for over an hour yesterday, up in the air for much of that time, the manager told me that his inspector was refusing to inspect it because it had been modified. I pointed out that they had inspected it last year without any problem. I asked what specific aspect of the NYS safety regulations did it fail to meet. They couldn't cite any. They just kept saying that their inspector refused to take responsibility for inspecting it. A couple of times they also blamed NYS and said that the State was being very strict about inspections. When I asked why it took over an hour of shop time for them to tell me that they would not inspect it, they said that their inspector was busy on other work. Not so busy, it seems, that he couldn't inspect the car of another customer who came in well after me and whose car was taken in after mine and yet was finished well before they told me they wouldn't inspect my car. While I am writing this review primarily to alert anyone whose vehicle has disability modifications about my (miserable) customer experience, I suppose anyone whose vehicle has been modified in any way (or just doesn't like to waste their time) should also consider themselves warned about this location. FWIW, I have had good experiences over the years at other Mavis locations on a range of services including inspections. And the van was inspected and passed without incident today after a very meticulous and professional review at a non-Mavis location. Lesson learned . . . read more

Take my cars there for tires, inspections and oil changes. Bought a set of General G-Max AS-03 (ultra high performance all season) for a Lexus RX330. Installed price was very close to buying the tires from Tire Rack and having them installed elsewhere. Bonus is that Mavis also rotates tires you buy from them for the life of the tires. Manager LeRoy is very conscientious and ensures that services are performed properly, including having the staff use a torque wrench to apply the final torque when installing lug nuts. Very satisfied with the service provided by this location. I took one star away because they forgot to apply oil to the oil filter gasket during an oil change. I was very impressed that they used torque wrenches on the lug nuts though! read more

I went into get my oil changed and brakes done. The service was amazing, Jason and Jonathan were both very helpful, I had a pumping sensation when I was braking and they showed me my rotors and what needed to be done. They made me feel very comfortable, they even offered to by me snack and drinks while I waited. I had to wait a little longer than expected and they gave me a discount which was awesome and saved me some money. Will come back and have more work done when it's needed. This is the Mavis close to my house and I can walk instead of waiting in this shop. They are very helpful when I have one of my tire replaced ( I declined the warranty! ) when I accidentally punctured it in a parking lot in New Hampshire. Finally, they convince me to get a warranty for all the tires, in case. Recently, I came back for the NYS inspection and it's a nice experience as well except for they won't really give you a call when the work is done! You have to call them back. I learned this with my first visit, they just saying "we'll call you..." Yes, they won't. I love it for convenience and good service. read more

TOTALLY DISHONEST & INCOMPETENT! I don't normally go to this location(hemp tpke, Franklin Square) but I went there cause it's close to my job. I've been going to the Mavis in Rockville Centre (ocean ave) for over 10 years and always received impeccable service. I went to the F.S. location for a simple tire rotation and oil change. I was going on a long trip and it was important to me to get the tires rotated. When the car was finished I went back. I paid the bill and noticed that it didn't say on the paperwork that the tires were rotated so I questioned if it was done. Usually everything is on the paperwork. The guy at the counter said he will ask the person that serviced the car. He went in the work area, out of my sightline, and was gone for about 5 minutes. He came back and said yeah it was done. I had a feeling he was lying but wasn't totally sure. I took my car back to work and was thinking about it and realized that I have a way to know for sure. I had 2 brand new tires put on the car about 4 months ago at the Mavis in Rockville Centre. I looked back at the car the saw the 2 new tires were still in the front, not moved to the back if they were rotated. The counter guy lied to me about the tires being rotated! I called the manager and told him and he said, oh they get busy and there are mix ups sometimes. I went over the story again with him and said it clearly was not done and the counter guy double checked and then lied to me and said it was done. The manager offered me an oil change for $20 and said he would look into it but I never heard from him again. I wouldn't go back there if you offered me 10 free oil changes. If your people are to lazy to do a tire rotation what else are they not doing. A few days later I noticed a small leak under my car and I brought it to my auto repair shop that I've been using for years. They call me a little while later and said the oil drain plug was loose. So Mavis on Hempstead Tpke, Franklin Square screwed me on 2 things. The counter guy and mechanic should be fired and the manager retrained or fired.
