these people were so kind. first time home owners and we ran out of oil our second night in the house. they were out till full the tank in an hour, showed us the ropes on our furnace and and answered so many questions. Companies like these deserve their customers. good people. read more

We have been a customer for 15 years, but they have gone downhill significantly. So much so, that I am switching propane companies. We called to get on the schedule for gas, they never came, never came. We ran out of gas!! They wanted to charge us an extra $250 for emergency. Hell no!!! So we waited 4 days with now gas. They came today, the guy didn't ring doorbell or knock so he could do leak test, so I still cant use gas. They will come back out for $175/hr!!! This is BAD business practice. Don't use this company. There are too many out there. No need to deal with companies like this!!! read more

We are new clients of American Distributing. We just moved into the area and have never had a home that used propane. All our dealings have been 100% professional. Casey came out the first time to fill our tanks, he explained how things worked, when would be a good time to call for fill up's etc....Our tanks were approaching a time for a fill up and when I called they said they were experiencing some delays due to the snow and road conditions. I wasn't nervous because I called early enough. But to my surprise it wasn't a 10-14 day wait it was 3 days later and they were out! Very professional, reasonable prices, friendly staff! read more

We switched providers about 2 months ago. The service is memorable. This incident happened about a month ago. The technician was very professional and had great communication and customer service. I was not home when the field technician showed up. Instead of completely rescheduling, the technician communicated with my husband (promptly) and was very accommodating concerning time. We had a unique situation concerning access to our tanks-- the technician was diligent, prompt, knowledgeable, communicative, and provided great customer service. We've seen the same level of professionalism from the office staff. We are impressed and thankful for this level of excellent service. Highly recommend them. Prices are competitive. Customer service and field technicians are equally knowledgeable and friendly. read more

We had a ton of snow in Feb 2019. UPS hasn't made a delivery in over a week, garbage has sat for 2-weeks, but AD came out the next day when we were down to 10% due to the unseasonably cold weather that was too cold for our heat pump to warm us up. I am impressed! read more

1st time here. Drove here in RV to get two bottles filled. Nice parking and fill area with a really nice guy that greeted us. Went into the office and paid. Nice lady and really nice office. Why get "Suburb" service when you can get "superb" service ? Thanks, I will be back ! read more

I rarely write reviews. But this company has been the worst to deal with. Three times they have let my propane run out and we are on Automatic Fill. Office gave many excuses why there system was not working. Was told the best discount they would give me was to take off the trip charge and that they would put a piece of a equipment on the propane tank last October when we ran to 0%. It is now December and they still never put the device on the tank and it is the coldest day of the year and my tank has ran out a second time on their watch. What is the point of being an auto fill customer? The office staff is rude and response time is slow. 3 hours later and we are still waiting for our propane after an emergency call. read more

We had recently moved into a new (to us) house and needed someone to come take a look at our nearly 100 year old boiler/radiator heating system and let us know what, if anything, needed maintenance or repair. We found service stickers on the boiler going back to the late 70's with American Distributing on them as the service company, so we figured they must have been doing something right for the last few decades! I contacted them through their website and they got back to me very quickly. I spoke with Lisa on the phone who was very nice, patient and helpful. She explained all the charges to me very clearly and described what they would do for that price, which was very reasonable. Lisa was even able to confirm for me how far their service records went back and even how large our oil tank was (that info was missing from the sale). Other companies I had called for comparison either didn't service systems that old or wanted hundreds of dollars to just come look, before knowing if any repairs or maintenance was necessary and with little to no explanation of what services they would perform for that fee. Needless to say, we hired AD and we are glad we did. Duane, the technician that arrived to do the work, was a great guy and very knowledgeable about our system. He immediately knew the make and model on sight and obviously knew exactly what needed to be done. I'm new to oil-fired boiler systems, and the house being new to us, I didn't know exactly what everything did. Duane was very patient and explained what all the different gauges, valves, wires and other parts were on the boiler. As he performed his routine check and maintenance, he explained each step so I knew exactly what he was doing and what parts he was replacing. He also gave me some tips on how to best operate the system for maximum efficiency. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the service we received from this company. From the moment of first contact to the completion of the work, they were nothing but professional, courteous and friendly, and they did great work for a very reasonable price. As long as we are in this house, and as long as they keep up that level of service, they've got long-term customers in us. Now I understand why previous owners of our old home continued to work with them for so many years! read more

Love this company! I highly recommend their services. Casey was great!! I made the switch from a large and impersonal company and I can't be happier! Thank you again American Distributing! read more

I called to have new tanks installed, and the people at AD were very courteous, and professional. The tech that came out and did the install was polite, quick and helpful ensuring our gas appliances were working after the install. After the install, they were out promptly to do the first fill. I highly recommend AD, you all ROCK! Mike read more

Great customer service. We were running out of propane with the previous company, and they came out and switched the tanks right away in such a short notice. Casey was very thorough during the initial installation, and did a detailed safety check. They have very competitive prices, and no hidden fees. Switching to American Distributing reduced my propane bill by half. Their automated delivery is really accurate, they come out and fill the tanks right after it drops below 30%. read more

Love these guys. They are awesome, go above and beyond. Have ALWAYS supported me to the best of their ability. Friendly, know my name. You will not find better prices, anywhere! read more

I always have a hard time with how their billing works. They claim to have called me several time about an outstanding balance, but I have no missed calls from them. The person answering the phones (Cheryl) was not very friendly when I tried to figure out what was going on. I plan on switching companies. read more

I called in to get a quote as a new customer and the lady I spoke with said her name was sharrel. She didn't even know how to give me a proper quote. I had to ask all the questions and only new what questions to ask from calling around. Twice I heard her mumbling stuff under her breath while I was asking questions. The first time I heard it, I gave her the benefit of doubt. But when I heard the second time, I confronted her about it and of course she lied and said she wasn't. She transferred me over to her manager Lisa and She was very nice but if that's the kind of people they employ I will never sign up with them. read more

They have gone above and beyond in helping us switch over to owning our own tank. We were completely out and our provider wouldn't fill us as we didn't give notice. They brought us a tank and propane and came back and filled up two days later. There prices are amazing and so kind to work with. Thank you for being so kind and helpful in this transition. read more

Bought a house and moved in at the end of Sept. 2018. American Distributing came without our asking or knowledge and filled the two 120g propane tanks and billed us big money for it that we weren't planning on. When we bought the house, we thought the tanks were owned by the house. They send us a bill for a "lease" of over $100 in March 2019 that we never consented to. We told them we didn't want their tanks or their contract. They came and took the tanks that were about 40% full - about 98 gallons of propane at $1.89 gallon that WE paid for. We asked about reimbursement since you know that they will charge someone else for the propane that that they took from us and was already paid for and they told us that they don't reimburse for the propane in the tanks that they reclaim. Essentially, they have stolen around $200 from us if you count tax. Suburban propane doesn't pull this crud. Stay away from them if you don't want a run around and weirdness. read more

Good service and the best prices in town. I have never had an issue with their propane and have been a customer for three years now. When I have to order I am generally given a price which is sometimes as low as half of what the competition is charging. I have used propane from two other companies and can attest that it's all the same usage rates no matter which company I use. I am impressed that this company clearly can give good service and cheaper propane. I am not saying they will always be 50% of the competition, but consistently when I compare prices they are usually beating the others by the better part of $1 per gallon! Give them a try! read more
