On the first try I went to Costco with an appointment. After waiting 45 minutes, they told me they still were not ready and did not know when they would be. So I cancelled and left. Costco is famous for making people wait to excess. On the 2nd try I went to Monroe with an appointment, but they said they did not see the apointment on their system - it being a new off-shore reservation system that did not always work. We left the car. We came back in 45 minutes and they had not started. They were confused about which car was my car thinking it needed transmission cover work. I finally got them to look at the tire, and they said they could not find a leak but to come back if it keeps leaking. That was after I had already explained that I was refilling it every few days when I took it in. Communications at Monroe needs work. So on the third try I wend to Express Tire Saline with an appointment. They started on it right away. They spent no small time diagnosing the problem. It was not the tire nor the valve as I had thought. It was corrosion around the rim allowing the slow leak. They had to dunk it in soapy water and then remove the tire from the rim altogether to find this, and then they had to grind off the rim corrosion to fix it and apply a rim sealant. For $28 cost to me (staying with their phone price quoted) I think they deserve some Kudos here. The tire has not lost any air since they took care of this. I highly recommend Express Tire Saline for tire repair, and they do other work there too. :-)

These past couple months have been hell so of course my car dies, too. Then there's the added…read morestress of how to save money while towing the darn thing, and hoping some dude isn't going to try and rip me off because a) I look younger than I am, b) I'm a female, c) I don't have experience towing my car. Budget came through and assuaged all those fears, though. Super friendly and efficient phone operator - quoted me $50 for the hookup, $4 per mile after that. Said the tow truck would be there in 30 minutes. Sure enough, 30 minutes later, guy pulls up, also super friendly, hooks my VW Golf up in about 60 seconds flat (without making me nervous about scratching, denting, or damaging my car in any way - very smooth maneuverings, he could probably do it with both eyes closed and one hand tied behind his back). I hop in his car - banter a bit - get to my house and he parks it perfectly, with the same amount of ease, gently but swiftly. Awesome. Charges me exactly the distance (2.5 miles) without rounding up. He phones in my credit card. I sign the paper. And am on my merry way. So easy. Towing was almost enjoyable. Not that I would want to have another 'opportunity' to tow my car, but if I have to, I'll be calling Budget again.

Beware of illegal towing by this company! Driver Thomas attempted to illegally impound my vehicle…read morewithout any documented evidence that I was parking illegally. Please see google review for additional information, but I will just say that dispatcher Christine did a great job of being forthcoming about who called to have my car impounded. It was a disgruntled resident who did NOT have prior authorization to call a towing company for cars parked in the carport. She was unable to even provide documentation that she herself was allowed to park in the carport. Driver Thomas was unwilling to allow me to resolve this issue with cash, but he drove off without towing once the cops showed up. He did not speak to a LEO and claimed, "It's Easter and I don't want to deal with this." I will be seeking legal counsel to discussion next steps in this process, as the unlawful towing attempt resulting in my car being scraped. Based on the other reviews, this company has a horrible track record in professionalism, service, and fees associated with their services. Based on my interaction with Driver Thomas in truck #200, I can say that they are WORSE than what the reviews suggest. Please see google review highlighting this incident in greater detail.

Saline Automotive Services is located in downtown Saline, just west of the main intersection of Main Street (US-12) and Ann Arbor-Saline Road. Scott is a parts expert. He is great at explaining what's wrong and how to fix it. Since it's a smaller sized shop, don't expect to just show up out of the blue. It's best to call a day or two ahead so that the work can be scheduled. You can leave the car any time--even at night--because there is a drop off box. Inside the box, you'll find an envelope with a pen and a form to explain the symptoms. Put the key in the envelope along with your info and let it slide into the box, where it's safe. Because Saline Automotive shares a parking lot with a church (my church!) they ask that you pick up your car promptly on weekends, since the church might have an event that causes the parking lot to fill to capacity. Insider Tip: Usually, if there is going to be a big event, you'll see a portable sign for it on the front lawn of the church. But not always, so keep that in mind when figuring out when to pick up your car. Saline Automotive doesn't have a shuttle vehicle, but they offer you a loaner car, which might be even better. Scott's prices are awesome. When Goodyear quoted $515, Scott's guys fixed it for $299. I feel very confident that the guys will fix what needs fixing and keep our cars running fine.

It is easy to get an appointment and a fix is usually a same day turn over. The pricing is pretty good too. The best part is that I can drive away knowing that my car is fixed and dependable.
