Another home run!…read more Loved it, made reservations and got to eat another Sunday dinner at my all time favorite Italian restaurant... Can't say enough, wonderful atmosphere, the owner is great always greets everyone with a smile and genuine hospitality. That really counts for us, for me, for the people I introduce to this place.. Menu provided is perfectly arranged, detailed enough to where you want to try it all! (but realistically you want to leave room for their desserts) (But usually I just order the desserts to take home and eat a bit later) Everyone I know loves this place, still CANNOT believe it exists in Livingston but am very grateful for their choice of location !

I had 2 glasses of their house wine and ordered both of their specials. The started was heirloom tomatoes with blistered shishito peppers in a plum sauce/dressing. It also had mini sliced plums. The flavors were exquisite and it was the perfect amount. 10 thumbs up. For dinner the special was a lamb ragu with yellow squash and something green but I forgot what it was and rigatoni. It was amazing. I portion was huge and the lamb was lean and full of flavor. Another 10 thumbs up. This place is very small and reservations are recommended. Since it was only me I got a seat immediately at the 6 top bar. Everyone sitting around me was super friendly. Our server was attentive and also friendly. Sitting at the bar was also a good choice because you got to see the food prepared and it all looked wonderful. I would highly recommend this place if you're ever in Livingston.

The server and the pizza were fine. When we were being seated, the person taking us to our table moved on to seat another table while our group came in from outside (there's no room to wait inside) and as my 7-year old son followed him, he snapped at my son. When my husband and I asked what the problem was, he said he's no longer seating us and rudely said we need to "step back." I told him he didn't need to be rude but was dismissed. Upon leaving, I asked for the manager to share the feedback and it was the same young man who had seated us. I explained that I didn't appreciate how rude he was to my family and my son, and he dismissed me, argued and raised his voice at me, and then turned away to speak to someone else. At no point did I raise my voice or do anything more than say it wasn't ok, yet he responded with such disdain and disrespect, I'm appalled. It was a bit like speaking with someone that has no sense of decency or values. He should not be in a management position. And I can say for certain we'll never be back to Ousel & Spur, nor will any of our guests who visit us in Big Sky.

Big Sky has a very walkable city center with lots of little stores and restaurants. The night we arrived, they were having an outdoor music festival, so it was quite busy. We put our name on the waitlist at the restaurant, and they text you when your table is ready so you can leave the restaurant and do some shopping while you're waiting. The restaurant itself is very loud inside, so it's hard to hold a conversation. The food itself was good, and we were grateful for the air-conditioning, so overall it was a good stop.

I never feel rushed here, though they're always busy. During the summer months they open the doors out to the creek and it's absolutely beautiful. From favorite to least: Live Mussels - 12/10 very zesty, and the broth was fresh and herby with shallots, thyme, garlic, parsley. We dipped the seafood from our entrees into the leftover broth for the acidity and flavor! Stuffed Portabello Mushroom - 10/10 there were so many ingredients in this dish it was almost comical but it all worked together very well! Portobello mushroom stuffed with ricotta(?), blue cheese, lump crab meat, topped with chives and lemon zest, with pesto and balsamic vinegar sauces LOL. So much going on but very good. Bacon was a bit salty in this ensemble though. Fettuccine a la Verona - 10/10 light and fettuccine is in a fresh seafood broth. Plump springy prawns with burrata and has a good ratio of vegetables (artichoke, spinach, lions mane mushroom) Wild Alaskan Salmon Penne - 9/10 very indulgent with bacon, pesto, caramelized onions and lions mane mushroom under melted cheese. Salmon was fresh but felt under-seasoned on its own. I loved the mushrooms but I didn't love the dry/hard melted cheese on top. Chicken Parmigiana - 8/10 tomato sauce is very fragrant. A bit bland otherwise. All entrees came with a soft crumbly bread that I only enjoyed with the mussels broth. Lovely server and restaurant! Charming location. Big portions, we took leftovers.
