Those seat warmers are freaking amazing! I think I'm in love. If this theater was closer to my house I'd definitely come here more often. I'm not sure why people complain about the size of the seats because they are roomy enough for a regular size person and I guess if you're that big you have the option to flip the arm rest up. I wish they would install these seats at more AMC theaters because it was really nice to have heat during the entire movie, I'm usually freezing. I think another yelper mentioned that the seats didn't recline all the way, but I've been in a few of the auditoriums and the definitely do. I never came here before the remodel so I don't know what it was like, but it seems fine now. You can order food at the concession stand and show them your tickets on your phone and they bring everything to your seats when it's ready. If there's a line, they have paper menus and pencils for you to choose from before you go to the register. I haven't had to wait before because I have the membership and there's usually no line there. Probably the best thing is the availability of tater tots. I wasn't really impressed by the ultimate nachos, but the pretzel bites they serve here are different from other AMCs they were definitely better. read more

This was one of the smaller movie theaters that I've been to in a while. Most of the places that I've been going to have about 20-30 screens. However that doesn't mean that this place was sub-par. I was here to watch Avengers: Endgame on the Saturday of the opening weekend. The theater was packed with no empty seats. A couple months ago, I was able to reserve a seat in the very first row with my AMC A-List membership. They had the recliner seats, so not even the seats in the very front were bad seats. The movie was still enjoyable with the seat fully reclined. One thing to note is that the restrooms are located upstairs. I'm guessing that this was a remodeled movie theater as an old one that I used to go to also has the restrooms upstairs. Overall it was a great movie experience and I would have no problems coming here again if I'm ever in the area. read more

Poway is a bit of a jaunt from Esco for a movie but it's the closest AMC and we just signed up for A List. It's a great deal, 12 movies a month for $20, plus discounts on popcorn & drinks. This is a dine in, so they have food options and deliver to your very comfy reclining seats. On our way there I commented that I can't wait until they add heated seats and when we slipped into our seats, THEY HAD HEATED SEATS! I like that they have self serve beverages, the popcorn is self butter, which I like but it's not the best popcorn I've ever had. The theater is very nice but you have to go upstairs for the restrooms which is a hassle and time consuming in the middle of a movie and multiple stalls needed attention (which I of course, shared with an employee). Overall, I'm liking it which is good since it's my new theater, but I'll keep ya updated after I have more visits under my belt. read more

Much needed remodeling happening right now. From the oustide I was dissapointed and thought I would have the same old inside to deal with also. Wow was I wrong. The remodeled side is awesome! Cinepolis style. Recliners and clean and new speakers? No bar yest or service but the seats are all new, recline and have tables. Luxurious and complete 180 from the old and busted version. Not sure how the pricing will be effected but I got in with a military discount, for a first showing, on Saturday for $7.48? Deal. Maybe it's a renovation special. Big changes here at amc Poway that are going to keep me coming back. They are still work in progress with their remodel but still open for business and the changes are going in the right direction. Better menu options with a mix of old favorites like hot dogs popcorn and nachos mixed with gourmet options like build your own burgers and ultimate nachos with every topping you might want. They will also bring your food to your seat if it needs more time for preparation. The highlight to me tho is the reserved reclining seats that are not as roomy as Angelika theater or cinepolis theater in Del Mar but nonetheless very comfortable and guess what? They have a heat button available if you need it. I'm sure it will get better as they complete the rest of the remodel but so far so good. read more

I would imagine that the ratings for this place should improve with their remodel. Really I have no complaints. The movie (The Nutcracker) wasn't very good, but the seats were new and comfy. The best part of the experience was the seat warming option. It was more like a back warmer, but nevertheless a great touch! The fam and I finally had a weekend where we were all off and could spend some quality time together. Our family Christmas gifted us some AMC movie tickets, so we decided to watch a late Saturday night movie. I had heard that there was a new luxury style AMC theater in Poway and had heard positive reviews about this theater. Off we went and was looking forward to replicating the positive experience others had. Unfortunately, AMC Poway 10 did not live up to the hype. I did enjoy spending time with the fam, but my first time at this theater not so much. AMC Poway 10 is located at the far east end of Poway just past Community Road. It is located within the shopping center that houses the Brigantine seafood restaurant, the Stater Brothers grocery market, a Fed Ex store, and right next to a Baskin Robbins. There's also a Starbucks and plenty of eateries where you can grab a bite before watching a movie. I visited this theater when it used to be an Ultrastar Digiplex and the theater wasn't much to talk about. The restrooms are inconveniently located at the top of the stairs, but they were clean. I definitely like what AMC has done to the theater. It's new, modern, and the upgraded menu is enticing. This is a dine-in style movie theater meaning that you place your order at the concession stand and an employee will bring your hot food to your seat. Typical movie concessions like popcorn, candy, and soda/Icee will be given to you. They have those self service multi-flavored Coke machines, Icee machines, and butter for your popcorn stations. There's an adult beverage bar. The cleanliness of the overall theater is an opportunity area. The butter station was a mess. While we were there, employees need to be more conscious of picking up trash on the floor. Obviously from the above paragraph, there were several negatives, but there's more. I ordered flat bread pizza for my son, which took 25 minutes for it to be delivered to where we sat. When I went to speak to a manager about how long we've been waiting for the pizza, I spoke to Shanelle, who gave the excuse that they had a lot of orders to deal with. Mind you that we were there for the 9:15 showing of Bumblebee and it wasn't crowded at all. We ordered the pizza at 8:50pm and didn't get it until after the previews started showing. Shanelle's apology was unfriendly and robotic. For our trouble, we did get another pizza, but when I complained, I was not told we were being comped another pizza. There's more. There is definitely an issue with customer service and I could see why if the manager I dealt with is leading the team. The young man behind the register servicing customers with the premium reward card needs to work on his friendly demeanor and more importantly, understanding clean, sanitary habits. Right before I was going to ask him to refill my large popcorn, he had a coughing fit covering his mouth with his hands. The dude didn't even wash his hands before taking my tub to refill it with popcorn. I tried ordering a plastic popcorn refill tub and I asked for a cardboard tray to split the popcorn we ordered, but they were out of both of them. Lastly, the reclinable leather seats were too narrow and it just didn't seem as spacious when it comes to sitting next to other moviegoers. Apparently, these seats have a heat function, but I didn't use it. Despite all these negatives, the family and I enjoyed spending time with each other, but my theater experience left a lot to be desired. We would probably return because it's the closest AMC for us, but I'd only visit if we had AMC gift certificates. If you want a better luxury movie theater experience, I would check elsewhere. Hopefully, they work on their opportunity areas. read more

Our family lives near by this AMC, about 5 min driving time. I was looking for any reason to give them less than 5 starts as it's hard to earn perfect score with every client but I couldn't find anything wrong on every occasion we went here. Fast service for a theater bar,.. yep, if you happen to forget to speak in a flask of your own,:)) you can buy a drink of any kind here at the bar for a bit more money, fair is fair. Seats are comfy and the facilities look nice, but the lack of sound proofing killed my experience. I was watching a movie with some calm dialogue and the bassy sound effects from the action movie next door made it so I couldn't hear what they were saying. To the management I would suggest grouping louder and quieter movies near each other until sound proofing can be improved. read more

This place is going through a major upgrade.... and it's awesome. They are currently under construction in the lobby but that won't stop you from enjoying the recliner seats with tables on each seat - the stellar new theaters or the fantastic staff. Much improved theatre since the remodel with the exception of the upstairs bathrooms, it is really update nice. There is a gender/all new bathroom on the first floor by the theatres. The new reclining seats are by far the most comfortable around and they have had optional heat (and they vary as I had one that was super hot and then one that was so so when on high). Staff has been friendly and helpful and there are many workers so lines seem to go quick if you are not an A lister and in regular line vs preferred. We joined the AMC A list monthly subscription so have been here quite a few times already since it is the closest theatre to us. We bought the refillable bucket for $25 to use this year - refills only $4.49 now that we have it. I think their popcorn at this location is better than other places - maybe they got new machines too!? Parking can be tough on weekend nights with the restaurants in the area but there is parking on the west side of the theatre by jiffy lube with more spots. We most certainly will be back and looking forward to many movies this year. read more

Horrible experience. I've been to this location twice- the first time, the kitchen forgot to deliver my popcorn to my seat (as they said they would)- which meant that I had to leave my seat to go get it... Which I don't mind getting my own popcorn, I prefer it actually.. but this theater advertises strongly on "Dine In- We deliver to you." So I believed that and I was wrong, I patiently waited and ended up getting up to check right before my movie started. I was very disappointed and it was a slow night when I came. The second time I came, our movie was at 9:15 pm & I made sure to order my popcorn at the counter to avoid what happened last time. Well, the popcorn wasn't even fresh & it was stale!! I was so upset! I come to the movie theaters for the popcorn & I was strongly disappointed! I even asked if they were making any more & they said "No, we usually start closing within 15-20 mins after that last movie showing." Next, the bathroom was HORRIBLE! When I say horrible, I mean disgusting! There was urine all over the seats, tissue everywhere, no paper towels, no seat covers AND no toilet tissue!!! I really wish I took pictures to show how bad it was.. but I was so bothered and went upstairs to use the bathroom up there... I mean, with all the staff working- not one staff member can clean the bathroom?? Really?! I was so utterly disappointed and honestly, I will not be returning to this location again. Been going to this place for years. I do like the fact you can go on Tuesday's and see a movie for $5.00 (non 3-D) with your AMC membership card, plus you get perks every time you check in with your card like free drinks or popcorn. The theater has gone through a few different ownership changes and with AMC as the newest owner, maybe they will be making some much needed updates like stadium seating and more comfortable seating and replacing the lumpy or broken seats. It's an okay theater for the price and there is plenty of parking and the employees are nice. read more

I've now visited this theatre for the 2nd and final time unless some improvements are made. 1 - the volume (during both my visits) was UNCOMFORTABLY LOUD. I literally tore off pieces of my napkin and stuffed into my ears to alleviate the massively loud volume. I thought it was an anomaly but it was the same way the 2nd time I visited the theatre. 2 - it's not very clean. The seats and trays are dirty. The bathrooms are atrocious. Other than that, I'd just say although it has luxury seats, they're very close to each other which can be uncomfortable if you're seated next to a big person. For these reasons, we will frequent another luxury theatre instead moving forward. Hope you find this review helpful. read more

The food is delicious and made with care, the theatres and restrooms are all kept clean, and overall the experience of both being a guest AND an employee is amazing. Okay, I have been back. The place has gone through several management chances. The is latest is to become another. I'm not sure which owner managed to get some of the stuff together, but the new manager is a breath of fresh air. Although they have yet to update the theater, it's at least far cleaner than it has been in the past. This location has a welcoming staff who make a huge difference. Someone must have vacuumed the walls, because you certain don't see that old layer. The air is cleaner. Now if we could simply hold on to the idea of real butter on popcorn, I would be so happy. read more

My favorite movie theater in San Diego. Parking is always easy to find and the theater employees are thoughtful and hospitable in providing service to their patrons. Since this is a Dine-In location, a greater variety is offered on the concessions menu. In addition to popcorn and pretzels, there's fish and chips, burgers, and even a rice bowl. My favorite thing to order is the loaded nachos with shrimp. When you order concessions, they take down your auditorium and seat number so that they can deliver your food to you. Seating is reserved, has heated recliners, and are grouped in twos. Book your seats on the AMC app if you're able. I highly recommend purchasing an AMC A List membership if you attend a movie any more than twice a month regularly. I've seen a number of movies at this location and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience every time. The one instance where my recliner seat wasn't working, I was comped with two coupons for food worth $12.49 each. Even though it's a bit out of the way for me, this location is my go-to spot to see a film. Super great service all around and a wonderful theater to curl up and enjoy a movie! read more

It has pretty much everything you'd expect from a modern theater: - Reclining and heated leather chairs - Reserved seating with online reservations - Dining options + a full bar The one thing they didn't/couldn't change was the seating layout. Just returned from seeing a movie here. Unfortunately, lots of things need to be fixed at this location. Both mine and my husband's seat heater didn't work. Not a huge deal, but a bit disappointing. The people in front of us were vaping and talking loudly- again, not the theater's fault. However, the bathrooms were horrible. The all-gender restroom downstairs reeked of pee so badly, it was making me gag. That bathroom was really gross. Then my kids went to the woman's bathroom upstairs and both didn't have toilet paper. I had to go in and rescue them. I tried 6 other stalls before I found one that had TP. I wanted to chalk this up to being understaffed, which I totally get right now, but as we came out of the restroom there were at least 6 people at the front desk area. My kids were too embarrassed for me to tell anyone or complain, but someone needs to be in charge of ensuring things are clean. read more

This AMC location was super hyped by a friend and maybe that's why I came with such high expectations. It definitely is not worth it but here's my experience and y'all can decide. We arrived super early for a movie, a rare move since I am Filipino. We ordered some food, drinks and concessions. Our showing was at 930 pm, at 915 pm, I saw my order bring brought out. It all seems great except there's one problem. The theater has not been cleaned. The crew went in at 9 pm to start and didn't finish cleaning until 930 pm. We had previews anyway, we are chilling. 15 minutes later, the food was brought out and it was luke warm. 30 minutes later, the movie started. My overall experience: I watched a movie in a semi-clean movie theater with semi-decent food and waited until showtime to be seated. Is it a luxury theater? Maybe it was once but not today. For the experience, it is a commercial theater masquerading as a luxury theater. As a commercial theater, it's still a terrible one. I've never had to wait until showtime to be seated. For waiting 30 minutes for the crew to clean up, the theater was still dirty. read more

I just came to the theater tonight and found not only do they reuse the flavored popcorn, but it was let unattended for over 30 minutes in front of a door across from where I entered the movie I was seeing inside of theater 6. Every seat in the theater is a great see even the ones in the front row and even when the staff is overwhelmed, they accommodate and they're so kind and friendly and even the one time they forgot some thing I told them and they corrected. It came back and brought me my food in the theater. We love movies and my husband and I both need captioning devices. We notice there's a girl at the AMC Poway location who is fluent in ASL. Ever since she's been there we notice the caption devices have been fully charged and it was never like that before. As far as dine-in theaters go, this one leaves much to be desired. We usually go to The Lot in La Jolla or Point Loma, but we had free tickets to an AMC theater so we tried this one out. We ordered the sampler plate, which was fairly priced. It took nearly 45 minutes to get to us. It included nachos, wings, chicken tenders, and pretzel bites. The chips for the nachos were completely soggy by the time they got to us; the wings were okay; the chicken tenders needed some flavor and were cold; and the pretzel bites were hard as rocks. We also got popcorn and soda. The popcorn was good and tasted fresh! Only one of the soda machines was working and about half of the listed drinks were unavailable. The theater itself is nice and the staff were all great. The chairs seem more narrow than the ones at The Lot and the seat warmers don't work. The movie was supposed to start at 6:45, but the previews didn't even start until 7. Never been to a theater that starts their previews 15 minutes after the movie start time. All in all, not TERRIBLE, but we won't be back. read more

It was my 1st time at the poway amc last night and I absolutely loved it. I ordered the dry rub wings and I got 8 of them for $14. The seats have a little tray for your food and the reclining seats are fantastic and these ones are heated which was especially nice. I did have to switch seats though as my 1st seat heater was not working. Highly recommend this movie theater I will be back. read more
