AMC POWAY 10 @ POWAY Parking was super easy since AMC Theatres has a huge lot, there were plenty of spots when my friends and I went to watch Wuthering Heights. The place itself is massive, and getting in was smooth with quick ticket scanning. Pro tip: go on Tuesdays or Wednesdays because tickets are 50% off. Ours ended up being around $10 instead of $20, which is a huge difference. They have all the classic snacks, but they're definitely on the pricier side, we just grabbed popcorn, a slushy, and some candy. The layout is pretty straightforward: bathrooms are upstairs (women's on the left, men's on the right), and all the theaters are downstairs. The seats were a highlight, they recline and even have heating, which I've never seen before in a movie theater. The movie itself wasn't exactly what I expected, but still interesting to watch. Just be prepared there were about 45 minutes of ads beforehand. Overall, really great experience, and I'd definitely recommend checking out this AMC! read more

AMC do better on your "Gourmet Popcorn" After asking the concession attendant if the street corn gourmet popcorn was any good. He enthusiastically said yes, so I purchased the larger container. Found my seat and started to eat some. Although I put a small dent in the contents, I brought the rest back to the BNB to enjoy later. But when paying a premium for "gourmet popcorn" one would think every piece would be delicious ang a whole kernel of popcorn. A fourth of my container was bits and pieces of non edible popcorn as I found this out later in the evening. Sadly I don't think if that is considered gourmet. I'll pass. read more

Once this AMC theatre became a Dine-in location with food options above and beyond the standard movie theatre faire (such as popcorn and hot dogs), it became our favorite theatre! Friends and family would meet us here just for the great food options. I would say that it rivaled many of the "luxury theatres" in Carlsbad, Del Mar and La Jolla. However, that recently stopped. We have not been back in two months. Now, they only offer the basics, plus 3 pizza options. Even the hot dogs are substandard and left a bad taste in our mouths, like old carnival dogs. And it doesn't appear that they made this change to cut back on staff, because we see the same people, but all standing around, with seemingly less to do. Worse, they have let the seating decline - many of the reclining, heated seats have issues, and either don't recline, or the heater is broken. For a standard movie theatre with no thrills, it now feels overpriced at $20+ per adult ticket. That being said, we truly look forward to the AMC Poway Dine-in kitchen coming back online some day! That would certainly bring us back to our hometown theatre. read more

The only dine in San Diego AMC location. I come here every so often as its not the closest AMC to me. However if your ordering food having it delivered to your seat is awesome. They have a few food options which are not at the regular AMC's. The seats are nice and each one has a small tray table for eating which is cool. read more

The theater seats are extremely smalland very close to eachother. In the app the seats look like like they're further apart. The theater seats were very worn and the theater itself seemed to be outdated. The only positive was the Bavarian pretzel bites were delicious, however the cheese dip tasted very processed and too salty. I don't think we will ever come back again. read more

This neighborhood AMC theater in Poway was comfy and cozy! Our party of 10 watched "The Housemaid" since our book club read the novel by Freida McFadden earlier this year. 10/10! The film certainly matched the book and the actors made this thriller even more thrilling!! The movie was showing in Theater 6, which had spacious reclining chairs and table tops for our drinks, popcorn, and nachos. You can place your order on the AMC app before your movie and it will be ready at your selected time when you arrive. The only downside was that the main restrooms are located on the second floor. read more

First time seeing a movie at this small AMC theater located in Poway. I saw Fantastic Four during the first weekend it was released so the theater was full. I was pleasantly surprised with the comfortable reclining seats. My popcorn and drink were also good. There's also a full service bar in the lobby should you want a cocktail . The bathrooms are located upstairs (movies are downstairs) and the parking in the strip mall was challenging as there are other businesses (restaurants, etc) utilizing the same parking lot. read more

They are cutting costs a lot at this theater. Food quality has dropped drastically. Bathrooms are unclean/unstocked or in need of repair. Seats are starting to need a lot of repair: rips on the fabric, broken electrics, not very clean. The soda machines are often broken or out of product. The condiment stations are often out of product and a mess. Movies don't actually start until like 30 minutes after the posted start time, they are too busy playing ads for prescription drugs or 3 different videos reminding you that you are in an AMC theater. Cut all that out, leave the trailers for upcoming movies. Overall, they are now delivering a severely reduced experience while charging more and more money for tickets, concessions, and the AMC Stubbs Premiere subscription. Premium prices for an experience that is below what you could get at home. This kind of stuff is a significant reason why the movie theaters business is struggling. Not a great theater experience anymore. read more

Came in to redeem my free large popcorn from AMC stubs. There were about 4 young employees working in the back (2 of them were facing the front counter) but no one acknowledged me for a few mins. After waving down someone's attention, I asked if I could take it to go, and they handed me a paper bag along with the filled large popcorn bucket. Once in the car, I poured most of it into the bag and started munching on the popcorn leftover in the bucket. I shook it around like I always do, but noticed in horror a couple shriveled kernels that appeared to have possible mold forming on it towards the bottom of the bucket. By then I had already eaten a few handfuls of the popcorn... had I not separated most of the popcorn, I would've probably eaten most if not all of it before finding it or ingested it unknowingly altogether. I called to ask if they make their popcorn fresh daily, and they said they do. When I told them what I had found, the employee seemed confused and not sure how to respond. I told them to alert management of my findings and he said he would. Not sure who's running this place now but it had def seen better days..this place could use some QC and better trained staff. I hope I didn't get sick from the free moldy popcorn. I won't be coming back. read more

We visit this location when we want to see a movie , closest one to our house , comfy reclining seats and for the most part a clean facility . Employees are friendly . The theater was a bit weird this time ... all dark to start .. had to use flashlights to find our seats in the beginning. Our movie start time hit and no movie .. so I went to the front and asked when our movie was going to start. The employee came to the theater and checked to see what was going on and within minutes , our movie started . So all in all, decent experience , they were attentive to problem solving . The theater is great and the workers are usually super nice. Sometimes you can hear the sound from the theater next door which is annoying and sometimes the volume isn't right for the movie. Super loud with violent movies; too low with slower non aggressive films. I'm an A-lister and come here a lot. Another item to note is that the food is good but the portion sizes are inconsistent, especially concerning their chicken wings. It's like $17 and they're supposed to weigh them so there is the same amount each time but sometimes we get like 5 small wings for $17. That's not cool. Overall I really like this theater. I just wish they'd work on consistency with the food. Onw additional item to note that happened just tonight, Sunday Feb 15. The heavier set woman with wet brown hair up in a bun, wearing black sweat pants, working at the bar, screamed at us from across the room, while we were waiting to order food; her complaint was that we brought in an outside drink. I understand there must be some policy regarding this but, as A-listers we see a lot of movies here and we always bring in a drink and no one has ever said anything as they do not sell the coffee drink we bring in and we always buy food anyway. Even if this is a policy, after years of coming here, that they're going to begin enforcing, there's a way to do it. You don't embarrass us by legit screaming across the room. Everyone turned around and was staring as we sat there like deer in headlights as, like I said before, we are not used to this type of treatment as everyone has always been pleasant here. This woman is not pleasant. She really needs to work on her people skills. You can discretely remind a customer of the" rules" without being rude. I'm a veteran with an anxiety disorder and have always felt like this was a safe space but now feel pretty rattled from her verbal attack. It may be time for new customer service training for her and/or a new theater for me. read more

Im an AMC stubs member, and come here often. It's the closest one to me and i like the pros of being a member. Its not the best theater but it's not bad either. I really love the heated recliner seats, although there are a few times I've gotten one that wasn't working. The food menu could use an upgrade, but i do like that they will bring it to your seat (there's a fee added though). The food ranges from ok to bad. I would not suggest the wings, but the burgers pretty good and the fries. I dont like that they just can't have a regular pretzel like every other theater, instead they have these pretzel bites that are more like pretzel breadstick pieces. They just don't seem like they belong on a movie theater menu. One thing i absolutely hate is that the bathroom is upstairs. They have one slow eleavator, or else you have to climb the big flight of stairs. When I'm trying to hurry back to the movie, this is inconvenient, and also not friendly to this with a disability. They have one all gender stall downstairs but it's always occupied and frankly just pretty gross, so id avoid it for sure. The screens are clear and the sounds is not too loud or too low, so that's a plus. They do have a bar area as well to get cocktails or beer. They don't have an arcade or anything like some theaters, so if that's what you like, then I'd go somewhere else. read more

AMC management really has messed up the value of going to this theatre. The food use to be good, now its hot dogs, pizza, and other poor concession food. They no longer deliver to your seat, you have to wait for your food, and the food cost more now. Management should lose their job, because they are losing customers. Really 2.5 Stars. I used to think it was 4 stars because they had dine-in and a great selection of food options that were actually good! I give 1 star for the reclining heated seats. 1 star because it is a great location for me. 1/2 a star because the kids that work there are typically really sweet and helpful. My negative stars are because the bathrooms are upstairs... totally out of the way! And the 2 that are downstairs(family bathrooms) are always so dirty and smell. Maybe now that they're not cooking food and delivering to the seats they can clean the bathrooms downstairs more often... that's a thought! read more

Wow AMC! What a complete downgrade! AMC closed several locations and decided to stop "dine in" service in Poway. Now choices are chicken strips, nachos or hotdogs. Ordered 2 hotdogs and a drink for $30 and the hotdogs were gross. Costco has a better tasting dog. The buns were stale on the top side- hard as a rock. The dogs tasted like nitrates and cheap meat. Such a downturn from the wonderful food service and experience before. Would rather drive to Del Mar Cineopolis for date night. What a shame. Love the seats and the screens but it's no longer a date night experience. read more

Heated seats were excellent! First time visiting this theater and I would return. Air conditioning working in the theater so I was able to indulge in the heated seating. Comfy recliners, small table and cup holder which was great. I didn't buy any refreshments. I recommend Downton Abbey the movie! Check it out before it vanishes. read more

Worst service to ight by far. I went to this location with my son and his two friends as my son told me I would have to walk them in to prove I was allowing them to see The Back Rooms. When I walked in with them, the attendant let me know I would have to watch it with them or they were not allowed in. Since I was not aware of this policy, I said I understood and would need a refund since they would not allow them in. They said they would not refund us, so they are running a scam where they keep your money if you comply with their rules. I am aware of several other parents who simply lied and said the guardian is inside already, which worked. Honesty is not the best policy with AMC Poway. read more

I am not sure why this theatre has a low review. The entrance and theatres are nice and clean, the sound in the theatres are crisp and immersive. The staff have always been nice to us, the popcorn has been consistently good and the seats are clean and great. The one thing I would say I wish was the case is having the bathrooms closer by the theatre. If you're in theatres 1-5 it's a bit of a walk, and some people will have to go upstairs. The other issue is having trash cans in the theatre, which creates loud sounds when people get up and throw stuff away in the middle of the movie. All in all, if you want a similar experience to other luxury theatres but in East County and with a lower cost, this is a good place to go. read more

The theater is located in a good location, with easy free parking. It is also clean and has nice, reclining seats, clean bathroom. The bad in this theater is air quality. We were in theater 7, near the door, watching a 3 hour show. The air smelled like a kitchen exhaust system, it wasn't just a food smell, but a bitter smoke smell. We moved closer to the screen, where the air was a bit better. Now I'm washing the smoke from my clothes and hair. Big NO for the smoky air, I will not go back. read more

Great experience. Ordered our tickets online as well as pre-ordered all our food. Checking in at the front was easy (use the QR code on your receipt email) and head straight to your seat. Food was good too. Ordered the Classic Cheeseburger with fries..both were hot and fresh. Overall, we will definitely come back to see more movies here in the future. read more

It was finally time for WICKED! I was going with my parents so I met them half walk at this AMC in Poway so we could see the movie together. I typically frequent The Lot when I go to the movies so I was interested to see what this theater was going to be like. It still looks like your average movie theater when you walk inside with the concession stands but they also have a bar which who doesn't want to enjoy a glass of wine during a movie? We got some popcorn, candy and wine and went to our seats. I like how the theater was laid out with no crazy stairs to get to your seats like other theaters are. We sat towards the back and the seats do recline and are even heated if you want. The one thing I will say is the seats are pretty small and narrow which isn't always the most comfortable for a long movie but overall we enjoyed ourselves. If I was in the area I would for sure come back again. read more
