This AMC is one of the chain's older "AMC Classic" locations, originally built as a Carmike Cinema before becoming part of AMC. While it has received the standard AMC upgrades--reserved seating, digital projection, mobile ticketing, Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, and a MacGuffins Bar--it still feels like a theater from another era. The staff deserves praise. Everyone I encountered was friendly, helpful, and efficient, making for a pleasant experience from ticket purchase to concessions. Located inside the Myrtle Beach Mall, the theater is part of a shopping center that opened in 1986 and is now anchored by Bass Pro Shops, Guy Fieri's "Flavortown," and Books-A-Million, making it easy to combine a movie with a little shopping. The biggest drawback is the seating. While the stadium-style layout provides good sightlines and keeps the person in front of you from blocking the screen, the seats themselves leave much to be desired. They reminded me of sitting in an airline seat on a long flight--comfortable enough for a while, but not somewhere you'd want to spend three hours. With so many modern theaters offering plush recliners and immersive sound systems, this location feels noticeably behind the times. Overall, this is a perfectly serviceable neighborhood movie theater with courteous staff and all the basic AMC amenities. Just don't expect the luxury experience you'll find at newer cinemas. read more

****BEWARE OF TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE **** My family purchased tickets through Fandango for an AMC showing, using valid promotional offers provided through Fandango, including an Apple Pay promotion, along with our AMC Stubs member benefits. We arrived at the theater on time, purchased popcorn and other concessions, and proceeded to have our tickets scanned. Only then were we informed that the showing had been canceled. We were told that notification had been sent by email. However, we did not receive any cancellation notice prior to arriving at the theater. In fact, the only emails we received before our arrival were promotional emails encouraging us to purchase concessions in advance. Had we received timely notice that the showing had been canceled, we would not have made the unnecessary trip or purchased concessions. We were also informed that our tickets had already been refunded. As of the time of this letter, no refund has been received or reflected in our account. Equally concerning was the manner in which this situation was handled by the theater manager, Rosa. When we initially sought assistance, she offered no meaningful help or solution. Only after we returned to speak with her again did she state that the matter was Fandango's responsibility. Regardless of where the tickets were purchased, we were standing in an AMC theater after arriving for an AMC movie that had been canceled without our knowledge. We expected a far more customer-focused response. As both a paid Stubbs Premiere member and an AMC shareholder, I find this experience especially troubling. Shareholders have a vested interest in the company's reputation, customer satisfaction, and long-term success. Situations such as this, particularly when compounded by poor customer service and conflicting information regarding notifications and refunds, undermine customer confidence and reflect poorly on the company. **** GO TO THIS THEATRE AT YOUR OWN RISK **** read more

The workers are horrible people and do nothing with their life besides kicking people out for non valid reasons

This is an older theater and it shows but the seats were comfortable and the workers were friendly. It was very humid inside and the popcorn was a little chewy. Whether this was from the humidity or it just wasn't fresh I dont know. There is a very nice cinemark 10 min down the street but there you will wait in VERY long lines at concessions, while here you wont. Movie looks tje same on the screen whichever you choose. read more

All in all it was good. I went here Wednesday to see Michael . Every thing was clean but I was disappointed in how cold the theater was and the sound of the previews was loud. Everyone was friendly and courteous. I wish it was an xmax theater but good for what it was lol. parking is lousy tho lol. read more

After a sweltering day on the beach the four of us decided to check out Oppenheimer movie. Didn't start out well. When I presented my pre-paid order for 4 tickets, the reader wouldn't process them! We discovered I had looked up times and picked 4 seats for the 1:00 PM showing. But when I flipped to the App for purchase, it brought up my home AMC with same time! Too late to really do anything else I purchased 4 tickets and popcorn and would go for refund later. We found seats, really open seating since only 10 people there. We were disappointed that this theater has not updated the seats to new recliner seats as our home theater had. The temperature was great. I usually bring my light jacket to keep warm. Also the sound was pretty loud, so much so my friend didn't have to wear his hearing aids. Nicely appointed interior and great popcorn. read more

We came during matinee hours to see Sinners and overall, it was a pretty chill experience. No crowd, easy parking, and barely anyone in the theater -- just how I like it! The theater itself is huge, with plenty of rooms showing different movies. The seats were comfortable and spacious, and I loved that you could raise the armrests for a little extra wiggle room. Everything was going great... until I found a long piece of hair in my popcorn. Definitely not from me or anyone in my group -- we all have shoulder-length locs, and this was not our hair. It definitely killed the snack vibe a little. The popcorn was replaced, and the staff was apologetic and kind about the situation. Aside from that, the theater was clean, the movie quality was good, and the staff was polite. This spot is an easy go-to for a low-key movie day. read more

Secretly the best movie theater in the Grand Strand. No reserved seating or recliners but clean, good staff and comfy seats. Seems like a quality manager. read more

if i could give zero i would people are rude policy is bullshit, i've been too so many theatres and they don't ID for a rated r movie.... now im over 18 but they won't let me watch it because of my age mind you every other theatre in myrtle beach doesn't id for a movie plus they have roaches says like 3 of the workers read more

Very nice cinema with amazingly comfy and spacious lay-Z-Boy style reclining chairs. My wife and my favorite place to watch movies

A full 25 minutes of commercials and previews to sit through until the movie starts. Shameful. When you say 4 pm start, start on time. No wonder movie theaters are dinosaurs about to be extinct. read more

HORRIBLE!!! Streaming glitches! Play. Pause. Play. Pause. Play. Pause. SUCKED! Theatre personnel tried to work with AMC tech to fix streaming glitches. But to no avail. Play. Pause. Play. Pause. Play. Pause. Theatre personnel gave out free passes to everyone. Why would I subject myself to another AMC streaming failure. NEVER read more

Everything! Great movie "David" and popcorn was fresh! Theater was clean. No long lines. Quick service.

This movie theater was highly disappointing. To start our popcorn was cold and stale tasting. The theater itself smelled like mildew and immediately made us feel sick. We left within 5 minutes. read more

Really nice AMC location! I took off one star just because they don't do reserved seating for some reason, but otherwise a very standard AMC- enjoyed our movie a lot! read more

Audio, but no video with initial screen shots in theater 8. Called & told Manager. She indicated that video wasn't available. She said don't worry the movie will have audio & video. Fortunately there was normal audio & video for movies. Clearly an issue that's not up to par with AMC. read more

Amazingly clean and our recliners were so comfortable. The variety of hours were accommodating to my schedule . We will definitely be back.

It was fine, can't complain about the AMC club matinee price for sure. Sound could definitely be better and it was a few degrees too warm in theatre 1 to be comfortable for me (I do like like it cool indoors). I realize this property is older and it's July, HVAC equipment was probably working hard as it could. Like every cinema I've ever been to that's not just recently opened this one could use a deep cleaning. The young man who scanned my phone was having trouble with his device and was apologetic, very friendly and helpful. read more

It was clean, the people were friendly, it was not crowded. It was family friendly and the restrooms were well maintained and clean.

Nasty hot theater, smells like mildew/mold. The gigantic hole in ceiling probably the culprit. Staff could care less about appearance or customer experience. read more

Floor's are dirty everything is out dated and really needs to focus on new seats. And finally they need more technology in this theater

Decent theatre , looked clean but the Popcorn for $15 was VERY stale! They should be ashamed to serve it . The order ahead service was good , the self service soda machine was just OK and a little cumbersome to operate . I realize movie theaters are in recovery mode with staff and bouncing back after Covid. The senior discount was nice as well. read more

AMC CLASSIC Myrtle Beach 12 is a clean modern theater with ample parking. Enjoyed my experience there.

I wish i could put 0 stars scratch i'd put -1,000,000 because the screen isnt even good it doesn't even fit on the screen it is the worst movie theater i've been too this place sucks[DO NOT COME] im saving your money i spent $150 for trash!!!!! read more

I went here during a free Saturday afternoon during COVID. Staff was very cautious. Staff was so friendly and gave me extra butter. I was actually the only person in the theater at 5pm on Saturday but everything was spotless. Only complaint was that the movie didn't seem to be as loud as needed. I could hear the movie next door. read more

We had a great time and the seats were very comfortable. We will definitely have to come back.

Went here earlier in summer for Maverick and left. But, Labor Day went for Jaws. Theatre is clean and staff friendly and work together amicably. No bar. So bring your supplies w you. Sound and projector fine and above par. read more

Good people work here. Left my wallet. Came by the next morning and they returned it even though they weren't opening until 1:30. Handy, since I had a flight to catch. Also, enjoyed the theater, which was clean, had good sound and picture and good prices. read more

We went on July 3rd 2022 to see Elvis, a new movie about his life. Rushed to get there by opening time 6:15pm. Little did we know they would play 45 mins of ads for new movies. I don't mind seeing a few ads for new movies but 45 mins!!! There was some movies that were disgusting and if my child or my grandson had been with me, I would've walked out. Not happy with this cinema. read more

Being from Maryland most of our AMC theaters are updated. I've gotten totally spoiled with reclining heated seats that are spacious and comfortable. The first thing I did was look for the reclining button just to be quickly snapped into reality However, the theater was clean and I do appreciate that. They also allow you to purchase your concessions online when you buy your tickets This was nice because your snacks are waiting for you when you arrive in a nice bag stapled closed with your receipt . The staff is also friendly and professional. Now, the other issue I had was we went to see a popular movie that had been out less then a week, but they only had one showing at 3:30pm. That seemed odd to me. Also, when we got out of the movie about 2.5 hours later the concession stand was closed and lights out. I think they were closing for the evening That's kind of early! I'm not sure why this is happening The only thing I can think is that they're having issues with hiring adequate staff as a result of Covid and are forced to close early ‍ Btw, this theater is located in what I'll call "the cut" meaning you may drive past the entrance and not realize it. Trust me your in the right place. The entrance is wedged in a corner towards the back. There is no social distancing as the movie I was in was pretty full. Something to consider if you're attempting to social distance. read more

Really disgusting place. When we talk about going to a theater, my grandson, who is seven, asked, are we going to the good theater or to the dirty theater? When a little kid sees how disgusting a place is it's going to be pretty bad. I remember one time seeing a cockroach fly up on the screen that was so big we thought there was a bird in the theater. read more

Ok so we all know what movie theaters are mostly like. This is one located within the mall and pretty much typical of all mainstream theaters I've ever been too. Pretty clean and deals for food and drink is no where to be found. We all already know about all that. Here's the problem with this location that kind of made me mad. I'll try and keep it short. We went to see a movie and noticed the sound was really off, like no bass, etc. I went to find out and was told apparently someone stole speakers the night before. Who knows how someone does something like that but either way, you should not sell tickets to a show if the equipment is malfunctioning. read more

we love our local theater !!! only good thing left at this mall they are friendly and good food !

Nice clean theatre. 4,50 tickets. Matinee. However drinks and pop corn extremely expensive

My husband and I came here for a date night while on our vacation. The theater seemed pretty average. Prices seemed average. The place was pretty clean. We'd return. read more

This place has a bad system in place! I gave them 2 stars because they do actually show movies here but, damn, getting into the theater is a chore! We had bought tickets online (Thank God!) and still had to wait in a line that wrapped through the theater to redeem our tickets. They had one person running one register! It was ridiculous. So if you're planning to go see a movie here, arrive like 1 hour early to get your ticket and concessions. There has to be a better system they can implement ... PS - I was at this theater last year and it was the exact same situation so it wasn't like a one-time fluke read more

What I liked most about this place is the price $5.25 for seniors all day any day! You can't beat that. My DH and I are here in Myrtle Beach for a month and plan on visiting this place quite a few times before we go home and pay the prices at Regal!... The theater could use washing the rugs a bit... getting to be a bit old & smelly. DH and I went to a 4pm show and it was packed with lots of people as it was raining outside a great day to go to the movies. Saw the Choice a Nicholas Sparks book. Wasn't bad my DH is a sentimental guy tears came to his eyes... read more

Let me first preface this review by stating I live about 20 minutes away from an AMC theatre that has Dolby and IMAX theatres. I knew this theatre didn't offer that. What I was surprised by was how it STILL hasn't been updated even though AMC took it over a few years ago. No Stubs Premium member lines, awful seating, filthy restrooms. The movie itself was great but I feel we probably missed a lot because of how dark the projection was (or how old the screen, not sure which). Honestly, there aren't too many theatres around to choose from, but it'd be nice if they stepped up their game read more
