Oh Pop's - Late Night Wildness We've visited Myrtle Beach a couple of times in the past year. Each time we visit we always stop in at Pops. We were not disappointed this time either. Upon first sight you might think it's not much of a place. Take the time to sit down, try the food, the drinks and talk to the bartenders, and the locals who frequent this place. You will not be disappointed. After just a little while you feel like part of the family. CHASITY Had a temper tantrum and kicked out two groups of people for no reason. A lady with her 2 daughters tripped and she got a massive attitude over it. They weren't even drunk as we talked to them. Then they kicked out another couple who stood up for them. Trash bar and the bartenders are horrendous, owner allows it. The type of bar that gives Myrtle a bad name. Just stay away if you have any class. read more

The lady bartender was the drunkest in the room, and was yelling at us for ID. I didn't have mine(wasn't even there to drink) however my two friends had theirs and she told them they had to leave and wouldn't even look at their ID's. The fact that she was yelling and screaming was it for me. Then denied my money back for the items I had ordered and didn't receive. Wanted to like this place as the karaoke was good and the drinks were tasty and inexpensive. A week after arriving home I got a fraudulent charge on my AMEX and a day later 2 more. Only one employee handled my CC so we are sure we know who stole the number and tried to use it later. If you go here, I would recommend cash only! WATCH YOUR CC charges. I'm visiting Myrtle Beach for the week and wanted to shoot some pool; Pops Place is two blocks away so it seemed like the best choice and it had 4.5 rating. Now I don't care that's it's a biker bar, I just wanted to shoot a few games and have a beer or two. First - when I asked for a beer and told them to start a tab. I was told "we don't do tabs here, pay as you drink." The bartender definitely needs some service lessons. Second - is the rules they have displayed: #03 no cigars or pipes...the place smelled like an ashtray as most bars do because everybody was smoking cigarettes. Why would you allow cigarette smoking only? I enjoy a cigar on occasion, but didn't even take one as I wasn't in the mood. #08 - ABSOLUTELY NO DRUGS IN THE BAR OR ON THE PATIO...I feel like this is a given, but if you have to post it on the wall in various areas, you don't have a good establishment. Food - with the amount of yellow discoloration that was visible (old tobacco smoke; probably thirty years worth), I wouldn't have eaten food here if it was free and if they would have paid me. Service - poor, but she did get the two drink order right twice. Ambience - it was a bar, looked like a bar, smelled like a bar, and had bar games (pool, darts and karaoke.) The wait can be terrible. 45 minute wait to pick up your order. Not so amazing that you wouldn't look for an alternative to get food faster. The staff is nice, food is adequate but the convenience is lacking. Prices average to high average. read more

Another review for a different VJ hosting karaoke. Ducky is absolutely fabulous. She is fun and appreciates the old skool stuff. Come visit on a Sunday and see the atmosphere that Ducky gives to this venue. You won't be disappointed. The smoke is a bit thick in there. We ordered two fried chicken wraps to go, got home and they had grilled chicken instead, which isn't a deal breaker, but the chicken wasn't seasoned at all. Bland, hardly any lettuce or tomatoes. Even their delicious ranch dressing couldn't save it. Very disappointed since we got a fried chicken wrap a couple days ago and ate it there and it was really good. It was my girlfriends and I first time to Myrtle Beach this past weekend we were staying at the west gate resort while walking around we saw a karaoke 7 days a week sign so we went into the bar because my girlfriend loves karaoke when entering the establishment the bartender Clyde was very nice as well as the customers it was a very warm and friendly welcome the food was amazing and the service was awesome I would recommend this establishment to anyone who loves a good time read more

Pleasantly surprised! I stopped here on a whim to grab a drink and food. I'm not from this area and didn't know what to expect, but they had a great, laid back party atmosphere. We've been to Pop's the last 2 years while on vacation. The first time we went in August 2018, it was great. Not crowded, and the waitress came to our table all night getting drink orders. And we had a great time with the Karaoke. We went back in August 2019, and did not get the same service. No waitress came to our table, we had to go stand at the bar to order drinks. The lady was rather rude. My Jack and Coke barely had any alcohol, and the drinks were more expensive. I had maybe 5 or 6 drinks and did not even feel a buzz. The people in the bar were extremely nice, though. We met some really nice people, locals and vacationers. Had another great time with the Karaoke as well. Cool, local bar!! You can smoke in this bar, they have 2 pool tables, power putt, silver Strike and golden tees. They also have 2 dart boards. The food is the usually bar food, good prices. You have to check it out at least once. read more

Had probably the worst experience with a bar owner I ever could have imagined. My card did not swipe for the bill since the magnetic stripe is faded so I had to take out cash with the same card so it clearly worked. I asked if they could take a dollar or two off the tab since I had to pay for the service fee for the ATM and the owner was extremely rude. The place was also completely empty which I'm assuming is due to her. She also went on to tell me that they do not have any discounts but they discount their regulars. Why she could not discount my 2-3 dollar service fee when it was not my fault I had to use their ATM is very strange and poor customer service. read more

We got there too late for karaoke (one hour before closing time) and even though everyone in the bar wanted to do karaoke (there were only about eight or ten of us), the bartender wouldn't do it. The bartender was not friendly at all, and she closed early. No one in the bar was drunk or obnoxious...the bartender was just rude. read more

My pretty blonde female friend paid $3 for a vodka Sprite and the same bartender charged me, a handsome male, $7 for a vodka Sprite and neither had any alcohol. The bottles of vodka are 100% water. Don't pay for anything that doesn't have a top on it. read more

My friends and I had a blast here. It was the first place we went on arrival to myrtle beach and an awesome beginning to our trip. It was an older crowd, so when we walked in there it was like a movie when everyone stops to stare at you and the record stops haha. We went to the bar and realized the drinks were dirt cheap, but be warned if your plan isn't to get wasted bring cash because there is a $20 minimum and its hard to hit with their low prices. My friend accidentally took the owner's seat and she was not happy with him, so we moved to a table. Just as I was saying I don't think they like us here our waitress brought us a round of shots paid for by the owner. We went and took them with her and she told us that she just wanted to mess with us a little bit. After a while the place filled up for karaoke and dancing. The server was very busy because she had the whole floor to herself, but even then we did not have to wait very long for her to come check on us. The bottom line is that this place is obviously a local hangout that seems a little intimidating at first, but in reality the people are nice, the staff is awesome, and the drink prices are unbelievable. If you go in make sure to say hey to the owner. She sits on the left side corner of the bar and is a sweetheart. Just DO NOT take her seat! Haha read more
