Everything about this place was great!.. SUPER friendly staff, great ambiance, clean and spacious..EXCEPT they allow smoking inside. It was unbearable, we wanted to stay longer into the evening but the amount of cigarette smoke was SO overwhelming we just couldn't stay. Visiting Myrtle Beach for my birthday celebration and what better way than to see some good drag. PUC came highly recommend from my Google search and after speaking with a few locals this is the only dance hall type club left in Myrtle Beach. I believe there is a George's hole in the wall dive bar which I absolutely love dive bars so my next stop on the weekend birthday crawl. John the barber is not only a great conversationalist , bartender but he's a wealth of information on past present and future of the area. I had such a great time chatting with him and came to the club twice and he remembered what I drank the night prior and my name. Loved it! The drag show on night 1 (Thurs) was just ok, still entertaining but Friday night was just live and tons of energy the club was packed cute guys and great drinks. They have 2 pool tables, a few other games and my favorite electronic darts so awesome time. I live local and was so disappointed! Took a group for my daughters bachelorette party and we were literally not welcomed there. The girls had cash in hand and trying to tip the dancers. A Cooke near us complained the girls were pushing them. One of the men in charge came over and yelled at us. We were in a standing section and just trying to enjoy the show and tip. We ended leaving. Saved the girls lots of money. A security guard did try to help de-escalate the situation; which was kind of him. He was willing to talk to the other couple involved but at that point I had half of the girls outside and others closing out tabs. So BACHELORETTE's save your money. read more

Unfortunately horrible HORRIBLE experience. Girlfriend and her friend were dancing in one of the cages and without warning, a bouncer confronts them by touching them inappropriately and pulling them down from the cages. Completely understandable that they want people to be careful in the cages... why not just polietly ask them to get down and instead tear them down from the cage by their crotch and ask us to leave because "men and women are treated exactly the same here" is beyond me. As a gay women, I wouldn't want a man touching up on me like that! Will not be back and contacting a lawyer! Security also informed us that their security cameras have sound which is illegal in the state of SC... oops! read more

This was one of those nights that you don't remember all of, but you know you had a good time getting to the not remembering part. I visit Myrtle Beach fairly frequently to visit my BFF. This was my first time at their "new" location, which is a little out of town. We Ubered from the boardwalk area, it was about 12$. When we got there, the bar was beginning to get packed. I went up to get a drink from the male bartender who gave me a few of the worst pours I've ever had. The vodka and seltzer was given to me in a cup that was about half full. I also had the tiniest martini ever. It was a shot in a martini glass, literally. Then another friend of a friend showed up and said we were going to the wrong bartender. We switched from the man, to the woman, whose name was Julie I think, although at this point things started to become fuzzy... and boy can she pour a drink! Then came the drag show, with some excellent queens to get the party started. We played pool, darts, and danced the night away. It was a fun spot and being from a town that no longer has a gay dance club, this was a treat. Next time I'm in town looking for some dirty dancing fun, I'll be sure to stop by "Pulse". read more

So far it's really nice. I'm early, the drag show doesn't start till midnight, but so far I like the feel and decor of the club. It's waaaaay bigger than PT's in Columbia. Nice size dance floor, nice size stage. Comfy places to perch and pool tables lit with black lights ... Very cool. And something I really appreciate as a nurse... Drag show here are nice, not comparable to NY, but decent and entertaining. No creepers at least to while I was here. I went solo after partner got tired after dinner. The reviews said they had a great drag show, well the best thing about the show was the lady who intro'd it she was dress to impress and looked absolutely beautiful. This has been one of my favorite places to go since I was 18. The crowd is very friendly but tends to be for an older crowd. I'm 21 but still have a blast dancing and hanging out with everyone. Bradley is a great bartender so I definitely recommend trying to get him if you see him out there! Very unfriendly staff. Was harassed and watched the whole night by one of the workers because of racial discrimination. Nobody in the party had any type of drink, alcoholic or not, while sitting in a private section and we were harassed while others were left in peace. Unfortunately my experience at Pulse Ultra in Myrtle was not good one as I hyped it up to be to my friend visiting for the 1st time. We both visit Sept 2 and found the club not very "up-beat" especially being Labor Day weekend. We came in past the counter and immediately noticed that a Dr. Phil episode was playing on a television near the pool tables. Another issue was our mixed drinks were not good at all. We ordered two double drinks (whiskey sour & rum and coke) and the bartender placed them in single sized plastic cups (un-classy). Also no garish was used yet they were cut and available. I'm not sure what exactly happened to this club. I can remember having AMAZING times at the Rainbow House when it was opened and can remember past times here at Pulse. I used to not wait until coming to Myrtle Beach just to go to the beach and club and venture away of Harrisburg Pa gay clubs. But after this experience I doubt my BF or myself will return.
