We've been down to this area many times but this was our first visit at Ambrosia. We will definitely be back! Everything was perfect and we absolutely loved our server, Lynn. Lynn was attentive, personable, and funny. She kept us laughing and we enjoyed our time with her. The food was spectacular but Lynn was the standout of the night. You don't get service like that very often. We started with the pineapple bread, Wagyu bread and the crab soup/lobster bisque. Everything was delicious and I'd highly recommend all of those dishes. For our mains we both had the Taste of 30A. It was a great way to taste all of their standout fish dishes. We had so many appetizers that next time we'd probably just share this one main dish between two people. It's a lot of food! For desert we had the chocolate lava cake. It was delicious as well. My wife and I went here on vacation for our anniversary and it didn't disappoint. Being from Nebraska we're spoiled by good beef.. you can say we are snobs sometimes. We both got steaks (wife got lobster too) instead of the seafood which you would want on a coastal vacation. Staff was great, ambiance was perfect, and the food was worth the money. I said I didn't want my tomahawk cut but they did it anyways, that would be my only complaint. I like cutting meat off the bone myself and getting a cool picture. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone in town looking for a high tier and classy night out. We had the Snake River Farms Zabuton American Wagyu--it was absolutely amazing. The A5 Wagyu was a fun experience cooked on a hot stone, though we'd prefer it prepared for us next time. The bacon sampler was a standout appetizer, and the wedge salad was fresh and flavorful. We left completely stuffed and impressed. The staff was fantastic, and the service made our visit even better. This review is a bit overdue. We are from Maryland and purchased a small home close to Ambrosia but had never eaten there. What a nice dinner! We have traveled to the Far East, Indonesia, Europe, the Artic Circle, all major cities in the USA and Canada, and other places far and wide. Ambrosia is a special dining experience. Besides the food being excellent, the service is beyond five star. Immediately upon entering the customer is welcomed by a cast of staff. Once seated, besides the server, there is a cadre of additional staff who are consistently in contact to make sure the diner's every need is met. I complemented the excellent service to our server who then retrieved the General Manager to further engage. When I mentioned that I was an executive coach and corporate trainer, he retrieved not just one, but two books for me that form the foundation of the Ambrosia team's approach to service. From a service standpoint, any of us in the service or hospitality business can learn valuable lessons from this enterprise. read more

While staying in Rosemary Beach, one Saturday night we ventured a bit inland looking for a nice steak dinner. Reserved ahead, though it wasn't particularly busy. Ambrosia is clearly new, and very attractive. There was parking nearby, but it was odd, we had to either walk on the street or through landscaping to get between car and restaurant. Wife loved her dirty martini with No 3 gin. I had the sazerac and it was also quite nice. Started with angel eggs, at the wait persons recommendation. Very crunchy large shrimp on top of deviled eggs. It looked like pick up food, but was actually best to tackle with fork and knife. The crunch of the shrimp makes the dish. The lobster bisque was rich and tasty, with generous perfect little chunks of lobster. Tried the zabuton steak. It was very thin, I'd ordered medium rare, so it was just given a quick sear. It was described as "immensely" marbled, and indeed it was so rich I found it off putting and didn't finish. I'm someone who really enjoys wagyu, and prefers rich specialty cuts like ribeye caps, so it's saying a lot when I think it's too rich. Wife liked her filet, and I'd stick with a ribeye next time. Side of loaded mashed potato was good and cheesy. Shishitos were simply sauteed, a little overcooked, but ok. Sides are easily large enough for a table of 4. Wait staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. I expect we'll return on our next Rosemary Beach visit. Probably even have a better dinner now knowing a bit more of what to expect. read more

When I was a child, Ambrosia was a fruit salad that your Great Aunt brought over for Thanksgiving. A tepid mix of orange and grapefruit slices with some exotic shaved coconut. If she was feeling particularly festive, some maraschino cherries topped it off. I will quickly assure you that this 30A establishment is not your Great Aunt's idea of the food of the gods. Let winged footed Mercury share the news; this fine resturant is serving Fruits de Mer brought fresh from the emerald depths of the gulf, impaled on the three tined fork of Poseidon to the table. Hermes would take pride in the quality and presentation of the high grade beef served as well. Bacchaus would revel in the fine wine offerings and he would be mightly tempted to stray from his fruit of the vine towards several of the fine craft cocktail offerings. Themis would be extremely proud of the fine service offered here (Harrison was our server - he gave great personalized service). The resturant is beautifully decorated for an elegant evening. Outside more casual dining is offered as well. We started with the Seafood Plateau. I will say, even though I've never been a chiveche fan, it was quite spectacular. The scallops with champagne foam were a delight. The fresh lobster, king crab, shrimp, and oysters mignotte were fabulous. We followed up with a beautiful New York Strip prepared to perfection. Music was playing loudly, we confirmed it was Pandora and the staff agreed with us it was inappropriate and unpleasant but did nothing. The Angel Eggs ($14) were a B+ but a little too crispy for our taste. NOLA Royal Reds ($18) were a waste of Royal Reds. Perhaps just a little sauce would have paired but this was more of a soup dish. The Conundrum white blend ($9) was delicious but unfortunately the ambiance could not keep us there so we moved on. It's always a risk going in early to Happy Hour but it is also a good test of staff commitment. This was overall a Pass and nothing more. read more

We tried this restaurant for the first time for our wedding anniversary. We made reservation for dinner. The inside was very nice and I really liked their ambiance. We started with their crab cake appetizer and lobster bisque soup. Both appetizers were average to me. I didn't care for them even though they came recommended. The crab cake appetizer was just okay. I didn't find them to be the best. They serve a complimentary champagne toast and we ordered a bottle of that champagne because it was good. I liked their old fashioned with woodford reserve bourbon the most. It was very good and I would order it again. For the main course, we went with the filet petit and red snapper. Not a problem, I confirmed, and the restaurant then let me know that they would only be offering a Prix Fixe menu on Valentine's Day. After discussing the menu, it became readily apparent that their Prix Fixe menu did nothing to accommodate those with Celiac, and ordering off the normal menu menu is simply not allowed. This is absolutely unacceptable. I promptly cancelled my reservation. Luckily, I was able to book a table at Surfing Deer for their fully gluten-free Valentine's . I think this is an amazing addition to 30a. As others have said, it is fantastic that they take reservations. It's an upscale place and you won't find hordes of people waiting for a table. An option is to go eat at the bar. But note that by 6 pm, it may already be packed. They do have a decent wine list, but there are no French or Spanish reds. They carry mainly California wines. They were out of their broiled oysters. The scallop appetizer was very good but didn't come out very hot. I have a friend that would have immediately sent it back because it was lukewarm. We love that there is an option for a burger, however, it came out the wrong temperature. We asked for medium rare and it came out medium to medium well. Apart from these issues, we really enjoyed the restaurant. We will definitely be back! read more
