We booked the Orchid room and it was very spacious and comfortable. It has a living room and kitchen area and a pool right outside the door. The breakfast was nice and the area was quiet. Adorable bed and breakfast spot! Loved it and can't wait to go back with just my husband This trip was with a party of 5 women. I had to sleep on the sofa bed (which I dreaded) when we arrived it was already pulled out and made up for me. Very comfortable too! Would definitely recommend for a quaint relaxing place to stay The girl at the check in / front desk was amazing! So helpful with recommendations too (Only thing I would recommend to the resort is to update the shower knob (on/off/hot and cold) it was rough trying to figure out how it worked. Some had to show the others and family stating up the spiral staircase on the 2nd level never our figured it out and took a cold shower thinking the hot water Didn't work. Let's start with the positives, because I'm a glass-half-full kind of person (even if the glass is cracked and leaking): The location? Perfect. ‍ The staff? Lovely, warm, and clearly doing their best to keep this historic house standing. The building? Unique and full of character - the kind of place where every creak tells a story, and every room has a ghost of functionality past. Breakfast? Available early and every day, which was great because sleep wasn't really an option (more on that later). Now, for the charming quirks: The TV didn't work, which was fine because the fan only worked with the light on - who needs Netflix when you can experience 1920s sweat lodge vibes? Electrical outlets were a fun little scavenger hunt - like an escape room, but your reward is being able to charge one thing overnight. The shower had a personality. It screamed in protest every time I used it, much like I did when I realized the bathroom A/C got weaker by the day. And who could forget the fire alarm that went off at 1:30 AM on my birthday? Nothing says "Happy Birthday" like sprinting out of bed to the soothing shriek of impending doom. Bonus: they removed the alarm after that and never replaced it - apparently fire safety is optional once you've celebrated another year. Would I stay here again? Maybe. Booked the room Feb 12 2025 for honeymoon, requested champagne and chocolates package. Contacted the property multiple times up to our check in date Nov 17th. ZERO, ZERO RESPONSE! Upon checkin I was told they have email and answering service issues? For 9 months? No package as requested the room was stale and in serious need of repair. I booked this Bed and Breakfast after a long research and after reading every review. I was nervous about what should expect. This place surprised me in every way. We arrived to the easiest check in process. The lady at the desk was kind, helpful, and fast. She showed us the gate, facilities, and told us that if we parked in one of the four spots on the property, we could stay there (we did). We choose our own door code. My boo and I booked room 110, the second floor, overlooking the pool. This is a super clean, super quiet friendly place. The best, in the middle of everything! Short walking distance to everywhere in the island. Also, a convenient 2 minute walk to a market, which combine with the provided mini-fridge (not so small) and microwave is the perfect combination! We bought beers, of course. They also have a Keurig with k-cups. Excellent place, quiet, serene, can't beat the proximity to bars, restaurants, shops, museums. Super clean, spacious room with a desk, chairs, a safe and ta big shower. Even the hot and cold breakfast was superb. Their Coffee is good! read more

This b&b is very conveniently located near Duval street and all the old town points of interest. Yet it is in a surprisingly quiet and calm neighborhood. The checkin procedure was very easy and we were lucky to find a parking spot. It cost $25 a day to park, Key West is expensive and not car friendly. However, there is definitely not enough readily available parking here. The room was kept very clean and the pools were lovely. The poolside breakfast, included in the room price, was similar to other hotel breakfasts, and ok except for the last day when only strawberry banana yogurt was available and the only muffin type was chocolate. We stayed in the Sailfish Suite in the Annex, which is a separate building across the street from the hotel office. The king bed was comfortable and the shower very nice. However, you can hear people walking on the floors upstairs, and one night there were people in the pool near our bedroom whooping it up at 1:30 AM, and another night 3 AM, which woke us up. There is no one to call at the hotel desk at that hour, it is not staffed overnight. They advertise that there is quiet time after 10 PM but this is clearly not enforced and puts a damper on your experience. The tvs in the room were fine, but on the small side for the size of the room. The chair and couch cushions were flat and not very comfortable. The floor in the bedroom slants downhill to such an extent that your suitcase will roll down it. This made it difficult to walk on, especially getting up at night to use the bathroom. The bedroom air conditioner is in the window literally 2 feet from the bed and can also wake you up when it clicks on at night. The coffee maker, microwave and fridge were all fine. You have to figure out how to use the remote controls for the ceiling fan and cooling element, which is challenging. No one tells you this when checking in. So this place has its good and bad points. I honestly expected a more well appointed, better kept b&b for the price and location. read more

I really like the street and section where the Ambrosia is located - it is a nice quiet area, but close walking distance to everything in Key West (KW is very walkable in general). The staff here is friendly and accommodating (Lexi rocks!), they give you free parking for your car, the beds in the room are very comfortable and they have 2 pools and hot tub for you to enjoy. Oh, did I forget to mention they provide a full breakfast every morning included in the price of your room! For us personally there are a couple of drawbacks (The only reasons I knocked off a star) - the lower level pool room we stayed in was quite noisy. You could hear every foot step and thunk from the room above, which luckily was minimal. The room we stayed in had a window AC that provided some white noise to mask outside sounds. The other is this is a pet and family friendly place meaning you will probably have young kids playing, screaming and splashing in the pools. At times there were kids toys and junk all around the one heated pool. The pets are usually better behaved, but it may be an allergy concern for some (The rooms are kept very clean though!). The breakfast is basically the same every morning and it has a good variety (see pics). If you are an early riser you will have to wait until 8:30am to eat. They keep all the items in the gazebo fully stocked so you will eat well. Delicious fresh fruit and decent coffee! The staff is great - we were able to borrow some lightweight beach chairs to take with us to the various beaches which helped saved on chair rentals. They have filtered water and plenty of ice. The grounds are kept quite clean in general, but you may have to scoop out some leaves from the pool midday because of all the surrounding greenery. The pool room 107 was quite comfortable. I especially liked the large walk in shower with good water pressure. The toilet seemed a little unstable - it would shift slightly if you sat on it, but it was minor. It was nicely decorated, not high end furniture, but quite appropriate for Key West. In general all the positives outweigh the negatives of this place. I also have to say our 2nd visit to Keys was just excellent and probably better than our first! The Ambrosia with its laissez faire attitude, clean, comfortable rooms, awesome staff, and great location was a big reason of why we enjoyed our times in the Keys so much! read more

This has, by far, been our best trip to Key West. Kudos to Lee at Ambrosia for being a dream hostess. She's amazing and even left us a gift of Christmas cookies Christmas Morning as a treat. We would stay here again and again all because of her! She is friendly, accommodating, hard working and all around delightful. Our room was wonderful- private, clean and quiet. We had access to our own patio, hot tub and breakfast was delivered each morning (because... Covid). The central location of this adorable hotel is close enough to Duval to get there within minutes, but far enough away that you don't feel like throwing a bottle out the window to silent 1am stragglers who are walking home. Did I mention Lee worked Christmas Day and had a smile on her face each time we saw her! She deserves a raise just for her awesome attitude! This is a B&B comprised of Several Older (Made Modern) Colonial Style Houses with Wrap around Balconies. Some of the rooms featured Huge 10-12 ft ceilings, some suites had 2 levels. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite. Our room was a two room suite. First room as you enter the suite has a huge California King size canopy bed. With delicate, flowing white linens wrapped around the canopy. (Gorgeous!) There's Big fluffy white bedding to top it off. It was comfy just to look at it! We had a ginormous jacuzzi tub, and a two man shower. Our suite included a full wrap around balcony with stunning views all the way around. A Gorgeous Suite - Very romantic. The room included a personal Keurig machine with tons of flavors to choose from. Every Morning there is a delicious breakfast buffet. Tons to choose from, Included with your stay. Every afternoon they put out snacks (chips or cookies) and drinks. (Teas and soda. All of this is also included. read more

We've been around the world and we can enthusiastically say that we LOVE our stays at Ambrosia. It is in a quiet and perfect location nearby to the heart of Key West, Duval Street, down the block from a supermarket and within walking distance of so many restaurants. We always stay in the Alligator room, large and spacious, with an enormous covered porch, 3 steps from the pool and all the amenities (microwave, coffee pod machine, fridge) you need. Breakfast is do it yourself served in the little gazebo from 8:30-10:00, with coffee available earlier. The housekeeping staff are so friendly and keep the place spotless. And best of all is Lee at the front desk-a gem and I can't say enough wonderful things about her! And Dan, the manager, is always available and helpful if the need arises (which it rarely does). There is also an emergency number to call for middle of the night emergencies, like the power going off in all of Key West for a short time, which can happen! Ambrosia can't be beat! Very cute place to stay and walking distance from Duvall and other attractions. Be sure you know where your room is. Our room was on the bottom facing the courtyard. It can get loud with the people coming back from Duvall at all hours and people swimming. The whole wall is windows with blind and could feel like you have a little less privacy. The breakfast , which is included, was very nice , just enough to start your day and very well done. Overall the rooms had everything we needed and very clean. read more

I really enjoyed my brief stay at Ambrosia. The staff was friendly, rooms were clean, and location a few blocks off Duval meant the hotel was quiet but everything was a short walk away. Room #2 was in a historic house, which added a lot of great character to the room. Plus the hot tub outside and private porch were fantastic surprises. Rates were a bit pricey, but seemed right for KW prices, and I was happy to pay the rate to stay in a smaller, locally run B&B in a historic room. I don't know if this was the case, but it would have been great if the bikes I saw were included in the room rate read more

Just returned from our third stay at Ambrosia. It's a quaint little B&B just two blocks off of Duval (the end of Duval where you are gonna spend all your time!). We love the atmosphere there. The grounds are lush and tropical and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We try to get a poolside room since we always end up in the pool after a night out. Not a lot of rules here . . . you can go in the pool any time and bring your beverages poolside. We even brought our doggies poolside. YES, this is a pet friendly establishment!! Beautiful setting, great location, breakfast included, helpful staff and fair prices. What more could you want? read more

We chose the Ambrosia based on reviews and availability. We got the Sailfish suite which also is one of the pet friendly rooms. At first, I thought we might be taking our Yorkie but she stayed behind at my mom's. The room was great, nice and big with a large living area with TV, the bedroom was big with a king size four poster canopy bed that is very comfortable & a nice big bathroom. It also had a secluded porch with 2 chaise lounges to relax on but our favorite part was the 14-person secret jacuzzi tucked away behind our room that we had to ourselves the majority of the time. They had a nice little station of fresh pool towels and fresh water cooler that made it a perfect secret hideaway. We spent many mornings there starting our day. The room had a coffee pot with a choice of coffee and tea options. Unfortunately, the machine really didn't make the coffee hot but it was doable. We would run across the street to the breakfast buffet to grab hot coffee. The buffet was OK, with scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, fruit, etc. We ate there a couple of times but enjoyed really yummy brunches elsewhere. The room had adequate AC which made it great since it was very hot and humid in Key West. Yvette was great at helping us get a cab or plan excursions. She is lovely and very hospitable. We really enjoyed our little home away from home here. The two pools located near the breakfast buffet gazebo were nice and secluded too. Ambrosia is only a few blocks away from Duvale and there is a lovely restaurant, Cafe Marquesa, at the end of the block that is very tasty. Be sure to check it out and make reservations we lucked out, getting the last one on Saturday night. My guy had ordered flowers delivered from ProFlowers, someone had cut them, put them in the vase and arrange them for the room. It was a great treat and lovely surprise for my birthday. read more

What an amazing place! The room was exactly as described, it was clean and set up for our arrival. We arrived after hours but the instructions for accessing our unit were left for us. I spoke with Kate a few times before arrival and she was awesome. She helped us choose the perfect snorkeling charter and sent me some additional information on things to do while we were there. The property is beautiful, two pools on the one side and a hot tub right out our door on the other side. The breakfast in the morning is basic but delicious. Just what you need after a night in Key West. I'm already trying to recruit some friends to come back next year! read more

Stayed here for a weekend trip to the keys with some friends. GREAT location, right near Duval street, everything within walking distance. Quiet neighborhood, though parking is the challenge here. If you come in one or two cars no big deal, but more than that may be problematic. This place was very clean, smelled great, and the staff was friendly. There are two pools (plus a mystery hot tub that we heard about but never actually found) and one of them is heated. Both are small but clean and the pool is right outside your door. Breakfast was served and water/tea available all day. The food was good, nothing special, but care was taken with the display and overall it was tasty. This place is not a grand resort or upscale hotel, but you get a more intimate atmosphere, personal service and a clean nicely appointed room with very nice staff. Also, there are two really fat cats that wander around doing whatever it is cats do. What's not to like? read more

We decided to stay here during our trip to Key West, the rooms were clean and cute. Friendly staff and nice grounds. The air conditioner units in the rooms are quite loud maybe they can look into newer units, but other than that we don't have any complaints. Pet friendly and close walking distance to Duval street. We're just back to the cold northeast after a few days in the keys. On the spur of the moment Friday night up in Islamorada, we called Ambrosia and Lexi (at the front desk) fixed us up with one night in a poolside room for the following evening. Although intending to check in early we, of course, arrived late to find the private lot full BUT with Lexi waving us over to a parking spot on the street she (somehow) managed to commandeer. While our stay was much too brief, we were so favorably impressed with the quiet of the place being in such close proximity to Duval Street. Our room was spotless, the king-sized bed as comfy as home, the warm pool (90F-ish) a welcome alternative to the cooler pool and the breakfast buffet more than ample. Two thumbs up here! We have been going to KW for 27 years and have stayed at various places around the island. This was our first time at Ambrosia and it surpassed our expectation, from, hospitality, clean rooms, location. We loved the location, easy walk to Duval, easy walk to the restaurants on the waterfront. We usually rent bikes (Eaton's Bikes) and do alot of riding around, from Ambrosia it was a SAFE easy ride in any direction. Ambrosia had breakfast discount vouchers to two (2) local breakfast restaurants that were wonderful. It was very hot when wre were in town and Ambrosia's pool was a welcome addition. Plus you could stop at the local full service grocery store a block away from some snacks and adult beverage and enjoy by the pool. read more

You really can't go wrong booking a B and B in Key West and I usually opt for them over the chain hotels for the local experience of the area. This place exceeded our expectations! It was a last minute booking (a week prior) and we didn't get killed on the price. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and the room is VERY clean and VERY comfortable! The A/C works great too!! It's a couple block walk to Duval and a couple block walk to the old town....PERFECT location! They provided a parking pass to the parking garage as well which saves you about $20 per day in parking. We parked our very large pick up truck in the garage and rented a moped (pirate scooter rental- great and affordable!) and found parking for the moped right across the street from our room! There are several pools on the properties and also a hot tub. They provided a decent breakfast and also have a Keurig in the room along with a microwave and refrigerator. I HIGHLY recommend staying here! I am writing this as I'm drinking my coffee on our porch outside of the room! If I write a review while I'm still in the place then it's either really good or really bad! This is REALLY GOOD! Book it! You won't regret it! read more

Overall, a great place to stay. Check in was ok. The woman checking us in was a little abrupt. We stayed in the Amelia Suite, which was wonderful except the tiny orange bugs that seem to get in everywhere in FL. Bed was very comfortable, cheap itchy comforter though. The AC was noisy, but worked well. Housekeeping only came 2 times through the 5 nights we were there, odd timing between 11-2 pm . However, they were great about leaving fresh towels, ect on your porch. Breakfast was good,and the staff helped us find parking the few times we needed to leave and come back. Wonderful place and wonderful experience. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly. We arrived after closing and they called to check on us prior to our arrival since we were running late. The owner had her truck parked in the road saving our spot. We stayed in the jungle room, very comfortable and nice. The hottub was just outside our door, it felt like our own private spa. The breakfast was great! Full spread and some of the best biscuits I've had in a while. The location was perfect, just a tiny walk from Duvall. It rained most of the time we were there so that made it even better, and the hottub was a perfect place to weather the storm. The owner gave us a list if pet friendly bars and restaurants, which was very helpful. My dogs loved it, and we loved it. read more

This Ambrosia's website fails to express how good of an option it is for staying in Key West. Spacious rooms have unique and decorative furniture pieces that no large hotel chain can match. The hotel itself offers a very convenient location and free parking in an area where area where parking can seem like an impossible task. The hotel staff offered great service throughout my stay. Lastly, the Ambrosia offered a complimentary breakfast in the pool area and free wine in the main office. I really don't think that I could have picked a better location to stay in during my trip to Key West. read more

I stayed here three years ago on my honeymoon. We had the honeymoon suite. While the bedroom itself was small, it had a romantic king sized four poster bed and a massive bathroom with two person whirlpool tub. The sheets were wonderfully soft and the decor was very nice. The staff was wonderful and laid back, and the pool area was lush and tropical. The breakfast they served was the best we've had on the island at an Inn. Wonderful freshly sliced fruit, and delicious breads and pastries. We had a marvelous time here and I would recommend it to anyone. read more

More an inn than a B&B. Operates in three separate buildings that must total 20+ rooms. We had delightful plaza room by a pool (one of two in this courtyard). Comfortable rooms and furnishings, helpful staff. Nice choices for breakfast -- sort of like a Hampton Inn or HI Express but perfectly satisfactory. Centrally located in what I would call Old Key West, although I am not sure we are officially in the oldest area. Would stay here again. They could use 2 or 3 more tables in courtyard for breakfast -- we felt some pressure to hurry and yield our table so others could sit. read more

Great location near center of all the action and easy walk to Duval and other great Locations in Key West; Green Parrot, The New Charlie Macs, Rum Barrel and Island Dog. Accomondations and staff were terrific and did all they could to meet your needs. Fun friendly atmosphere all guests were friendly and pleasant. Room was clean and modern stayed poolside. Breakfast everyday just what you need before the long adventerous days in Key West. Would recommend this location to all friends and would be glad to return again. Save yourself the mistake...No customer service...dirty and outdated...Very loud construction noise and had to haul my luggage across the street and up two flights of stairs with no offer of assistance. The room wasn't ready at 2pm and I was not called when the room was available... Had to walk back to the hotel where they had "mistakenly read my phone number." They then switched me to a room at the back of the hotel right next to a construction site. Most of this could be overlooked with good customer service and a willingness care for guest needs. However, disappointingly the worst part of this hotel are the people who work there. They are dismissive and uncaring. Disreputable establishment to be avoided at all costs....Cherry on top, They told me they "upgraded" me when they put me in the room bordering the construction site and then later admitted it was the only room left. Disingenuous and cowardly. read more
