I am writing this recommendation for Riemco with profound enthusiasm because they have shown us a better way. We have lived in our Riemco-built house for about a year, and absolutely love it! We chose Riemco over other firms that we looked at because we were so impressed with their the process that they showed us. It was detailed and well documented, and as an engineer who designs multi-million dollar infrastructure projects, I knew that such a process is critical to delivering quality on time and on budget. The process delivered throughout our project. The process began with Peter designing our house, and Lauren designing the interior details. Peter was wonderful to work with, did an incredible job translating our paper sketch into a buildable plan. Lauren was also amazing, and spent a great deal of time sitting down with my wife to nail down interior details to our exact liking. The vendors that they sent us to, to select our materials were also wonderful to work with, and provided a great deal of help. Big George's and Floor Traders deserve a special shout-out. As design wrapped up, we had a wonderful experience working with Ron during construction. This was where the process continued to payoff, as the we did not encounter any surprises. Ron was great about answering our questions and keeping things on track, as was Rob--who is an incredibly knowledgeable, hands-on owner. I was particularly impressed at the thought that he put into materials and techniques, and how he was constantly looking for ways to improve and deliver the best. The end result, however, is the ultimate argument in favor of both Riemco and its process. Our house is incredible. From the details of design that Peter and Lauren preformed so brilliantly, to the quality of construction that Ron oversaw, the house is amazing. There are so many wonderful things about--from the reduced demand on HVAC due to its solid thermal design, to the lack of wear that a typical house would experience, to the beautiful interiors that Lauren and Peter helped design, it is truly our dream home. We highly recommend Riemco for any new home construction, expansion, or restoration. The approach they showed us delivered quality beyond our wildest expectations. Nate acted as general contractor for my wife and I for a 3 month renovation of our kitchen in late…read more2024. He handled the vast majority of work for the project: demolition, subcontracting and scheduling for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, floors, and countertops, installation of cabinets, finish carpentry. My wife and I were responsible for layout, providing cabinets, and answering Nate's questions along the way. Nate has a great eye for detail and genuinely made us feel cared for throughout the project. It's hard to communicate just how much trust you put in a GC for this type of renovation: he was in our house most days for three months with our two kids, making decisions that we don't have the expertise to evaluate and that are often going to get covered up with drywall. Based on Nate's own comments and the praise from inspectors who passed through, you could tell Nate was a good one. Our house's layout allowed us to live in our house (although not our kitchen) for the duration of the remodel and Nate did an admirable job of keeping the dust out of the lived-in space. Nate kept an immaculate job site and you can tell that he takes immense pride in the work that he does. Communication-wise, he always kept us in the loop and made an extra effort to stay in touch on days when we happened not to see each other. His cost estimates for the renovation were accurate and his price was more than fair given the quality of his work. When unexpected situations arose (as they inevitably do in renovations of a 120 year old house), he took responsibility for finding a path forward. His carpentry skills are top-notch and he has a great relationship with other high-quality subs in the area that he can bring in for things like electrical and plumbing work. At one point, he even brought in another highly-skilled finish carpenter where he thought it could shave a day or two off of the project's timeline. The project did ultimately take a few weeks longer than expected (mostly due to difficulties scheduling inspections and subs), but Nate made every effort to mitigate those delays as much as possible. My wife and I are thrilled with how the kitchen turned out and would hire Nate again in a heartbeat.
