Great experience with Method Home Renovations We hired…read moreMethod Home Renovations for our bathroom renovation and couldn't be happier. Their communication was top-notch: daily progress photos and a heads-up every day about who would be at the house and when. Because this was our only full bath, they made it a priority to get the shower and tub ready to use within 5 days. They also repaired a damaged wall on the exterior side, and when it came to tile, they went to the store and handpick pieces that would match. They helped us find cost-saving alternatives which we really appreciated. They welcomed working with new materials. We wanted porcelain countertop and they were willing to install it. Their attention to detail really shows in the finished bathroom. Highly recommend!

Our experience with this contractor was very disappointing. After the project, we found nearly an…read moreinch of dust in the bathroom cabinets and on the window screens. There was a heavy layer of dust throughout the attached bedroom. Personal items--including jewelry, books, the TV, and bedding, etc. --were all covered. No protective coverings were placed on the stairs to the third floor bathroom, and both the contractor and his crew consistently walked through our home with their boots on. We now need to hire a professional company to clean the vents. We also encountered several unexpected additional charges throughout the project. While the workmanship itself was acceptable (a B), the lack of cleanliness and care for our home was extremely concerning (a D-). At the completion of the job the contractor also left two buckets of watery grout in our garage for us to dispose of. This reflects our experience and is offered to help others make an informed decision."*

Five stars. Superb…read more We had a couple of estimates for our floor. Michael, Ann Arbor Hardwoods' owner, was by far the most competent and professional. Pricing was competitive, too. It wasn't the lowest price, but the range was less than you might have thought. During a kitchen remodel, we wanted to re-do the floor as well. It had had 25 years of hard use and abuse, and it was showing its age. Michael walked us through the process, gave us the various options (stain or no stain, for example), all without pressure. He obviously knows what he's doing and his experience with hardwood floors shows. When it came time for the actual refinishing, the crew were prompt, courteous, professional and exceptionally tidy. Sanding floors produces sawdust (surprise!), but the vacuums used during the process kept the sawdust to a minimum. I covered the television downstairs with a plastic sheet (I recommend that), but that was about it. We had no dust upstairs. We had some repair work done at the same time. It was immaculate. You couldn't tell there had been repairs in the water-damaged area by the dishwasher or in front of the closet where the door frame had been replaced. We opted for no stain. That's a personal preference and a bit of a gamble since the wood color is unknown until the old stain comes off. Good choice. The wood looked great after the sanding and the 3 coats of sealant really brought it to life. NOTE: Plan a little time into the schedule to leave the floor sealant to dry properly. A week or so should be enough. You probably don't want to drag a dishwasher over the floor the day afterwards, like we had planned to do (but didn't). After the sealant had dried, the crew replaced the quarter-round edging around the entire area. No problems, no damage and it all looked great. I highly recommend Ann Arbor Hardwoods.
