Update: After posting my review, I received a prompt message from the manager, YunTang. He followed up and let us know that he spoke with his cashier and packing staff, and that this issue should not happen again. I appreciate the quick response and attention. I am raising my rating to five stars because of the quality of the food, which is very good, and the three stars was simply because the issue was about the amount of condiments provided. Hopefully this will be resolved going forward. Thank you, YunTang.

We usually go to the village location. Uptown is great too. Relaxed atmosphere and just as good food.

How do I love thee? Let me count the dishes. Listed below are four of my favorite lunch specials. Priced from $11.75 to $13.75 (duck), ALL include soup, salad AND a choice of shrimp shumai (2pcs) OR veggie spring roll (2pcs) OR veggie dumplings (2pcs): * Amber Baby Back Ribs. Thoroughly marinated and braised with peach white wine sauce. *Sangria Crispy Duck. Fruity red wine sauce with bok choy, mango, lily root and pineapple. * Crispy Flounder with Homemade Pineapple Sauce * Crispy Tangerine Chicken. Wok glazed chicken in a sweet tangerine sauce. Dining in? The service is impeccable!

I'm a fan of Amber's lunch special. For $13 you get two sushi rolls of your choice plus soup and salad. Many other places in the neighborhood only give you soup or salad for that price. Their dressing on the salad is very good and the quality of the fish is very fresh. Today I got shrimp tempura and salmon avocado rolls. I also like their teriyaki bento box lunch special.

Amber is really close to where I live so it's been on my list of places to try for a bit now! You can definitely tell this is a local favorite spot, since I see lots of takeout orders coming from here every time I walk past it, and when I went for the first time the other day-there were lots of people dining in for lunch! They have great deals at lunch, with lots of different specials for everyone! I got to sushi rolls, with miso soup and a salad for only $13! I got the crunchy spicy tuna roll and shrimp tempura roll and thought both were delicious and fresh testing! Will definitely be coming back here soon to try some more lunch specials!

3 sushi special plus salad and 1 alcohol beverage, cannt beat that price...$20.

Good relax place and prices moderate the happy hrs are amazing for the price. Not so busy on saturday afternoon.

We had the lunch specials. The food was tasty. They served good portions. And the price was reasonable for a NYC meal. I would go again.

We skipped dessert as we are already filled up by what we got. Our server was so great. Fast and friendly. She even volunteered to take our photo. My friends enjoyed their steak as their entree and rib for appetizer. The place is pretty neat especially its second floor with lots of chandeliers all over the dining area. It's a bit dark on our section . Sears and tables are old but still showing the used to be elegance of the place. Location is at the popular restaurant row. Will come back.

The service was pleasant, friendly, efficient and helpful from the minute we walked in without a reservation. The ambiance and decor was gorgeous and took me out of NYC for a moment. The phenomenal taste of the first sip of the Thai Iced Tea that paired so well with the rest of my meal is the reason behind the first picture I took. For the apps we ordered my favorite- Chicken Curry Puffs and Chicken Satay. The Chicken Curry Puffs were soft and perfectly mashy on the inside and had a perfect crisp to the layered outside. The Chicken Satay was so different here and yet so savory served with this soft garlic bread. The sauces were so fresh, vibrant and distinct and added to both the appetizers. The peanut sauce had crushed peanuts and was such an accompaniment to texture. For the mains, we had the Chicken Pad Thai and the Braised Beef Short Rib in Penang Curry. The Pad Thai was a great standard and tasty with the crisp sprouts and zesty lime. This Braised Beef Short Rib is where it is at! One of their house specialties- the decadent flavors and textures of this dish is something that will be memorable and just the right touch of spice. Lovely bright orange sweet potatoes and beautiful green beans went so well together with the beef and curry. Looking forward to trying more of their menu and not defaulting to my usual. Warmed up Chicken Pad Thai on the pan over the stove today in a little bit of butter, this was as delicious as it was going to get today. I missed one of the most exquisite Thai Iced Teas I've had in a while, it truly set the tone of how great this late lunch was.

Was walking in the area with my mom and passed by on the way to a bakery, but good thing we turned back. One of the staff members opened the door for us. It's wheelchair accessible. Attentive and helpful staff. Great first impression of the place - garden decor, chandeliers/ambient lighting. Got the Creme Anglaise souffle pancakes - with fresh fruits, very light and fluffy, not too sweet. Ice cream sounded simple on the menu - though just a small scoop, it came with red bean paste, fresh fruits so not bad @$6. Rose latte is rosy of course with crushed petals. The soufflé pancake was unfortunately quite mushy, without much of a bite to it. The salmon was fresh but the cuts were on the thinner side, so it was decent but nothing extraordinary. The aesthetics look nice and welcoming, but the service was more cold and distanced; would definitely improve the mood if the servers were more social and friendly! Our server forgot one of our drinks, and didn't ask if we wanted our lattes sweetened or not, so we asked for simple syrup to sweeten our drinks ourselves. To our surprise, we were charged for simple syrup as shown on the receipt as a custom item...never have I been to any restaurant or cafes where you had to pay to sweeten your own drink. Unfortunately, this cheapened the experience and made it feel like you're being nickeled and dimed by a pretty restaurant. Not sure if this is the restaurant's/owner's rules or just the server being incompetent/not efficiently trained. We dined at 2pm on September 9th, 2026, as to not get other servers in trouble! Overall, Vert Frais definitely has a lot of potential of being an amazing Japanese brunch spot, so I hope this review can help them reach their truest potential! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:
