My favorites were the crispy rice volcano with spicy tuna and spicy salmon tartar and the upper east side roll. Generous portions and fresh. My least favorites were the salmon tuna rollover roll and the citrus salmon carpaccio, it was a little dry. The chilean sea bass with black bean sauce was good, but I could have had the sauce on the side, it was a bit much. For dessert, the raspberry mousse cake was very tasty. My friend wanted to go here for lunch and oh my gracious, this place has such large rolls and reminds me of my favorite place back in Jersey. I have been coming here for four years now. It was my favorite sushi spot in the UES. In the last couple months the restaurant has gone down hill. Last week my girlfriend and I ordered the sushi rolls to be delivered and the eel and salmon was horrible, it seemed old and has gone bad it was a let down. I actually called the place and told them that I'm a loyal customer and wanted to let them that the sushi seemed old and disgusting. They appreciated the response, gave me a 15% discount and told me that they will notify the head chef. So I ordered it again this week and between my girlfriend and I we ordered 4 rolls being salmon and eel. She took a bite out of the eel roll and neatly threw up. I couldn't believe it and then I took a bite and it was just downright horrible. I then was in denial and stupidly took a bite of the salmon roll and same exact thing I ended up gagging. The fact this happened twice just shows this place is horrible and not willing to listen to my critique. I would try it a third time but I would be a fool. I stopped by here with a large group very late at night, and they were able to accommodate all of us just fine. It's overall a nice and decently classy spot with pretty good food. It's nothing to rave about, but the menu has lots of options. Everyone I was with seemed to enjoy everything they ordered and the food came out quickly especially with the large number of us that were there. If you want hot dishes, those are available, if you want sushi, that is also available. The prices are fairly reasonable and the portions are pretty large especially for the hot dishes. I personally ordered the Golden Eye roll, which was great quality, though a bit on the expensive side. Considering it had uni and tuna in it, it makes sense for it to cost a bit more. The presentation of the food is great, and hits the spot when you are feeling slightly nicer than Asian takeout. Some of my friends ordered other sushi rolls, pad thai, and chicken cutlet, which they all enjoyed. Would recommend stopping by if you are looking for somewhere to eat in the Upper East! read more
