ENVIRONMENT Several local and surrounding area vendors set up their own canopies and tables on the concreted area next to St. Marks Episcopal School. It's completely outdoors in a nice area of the 90241 zip code. When they aren't making announcements, they have fun music on the stereo. SERVICE Most of the vendors are very friendly. THE GOODS Each time I see such a wide variety of products and items for sale including clothes, jewelry, baked goods, fruit juices, jerky, candy, plants, candles, aguachile, street tacos, coffee & tea, mask chains, hair accessories, skin treatments, and much more. MY FAVORITE PART... Supporting the locals especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. These people are doing this as their hobbies, but also for the extra income... please support them if at all possible! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... I like to know how much items are clearly and quickly. PARKING Free street parking or the Our Lady of Perpetual Help School lot has free spaces across the street. TIPS + While admission is free, patrons are not allowed in without a mask during COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. + They often have raffles later in the afternoon. OVERALL I try to make it each month even though it was fairly difficult last year with the pandemic. It's one of those stores where you look around and think, "Okay, I don't need this... but I definitely want it."Now, I'll be real--the whole blind box/surprise box concept isn't really my thing. The idea of having to keep buying boxes just to hopefully get the one you actually want? Yeah... that would drive me a little crazy. BUT... then I saw the Snow White piece. And wow. I'm obsessed. They had this huge Snow White art/toy display that completely pulled me in. Do I need to spend over $1,000 on a collectible art toy? Absolutely not. Do I want to? Also yes.Luckily, they had a smaller version for around $300, which still feels like a splurge... but way more within reach (kind of ). It was storming, muddy, and chaotic, but she stayed positive the entire time during setup and throughout the event. Due to the rain she had limited space to setup and was able to do it so gracefully. Her attitude was so sweet, polite, and easy-going, which took a lot of stress off of us. She served about 50-75 guests, and everyone loved the coffee being brewed fresh to order. Multiple people complimented how good everything tasted! Another thing I appreciated is that she even offered a tasting before we hired her, which showed how professional and confident she is in her work. Overall, such a great experience. They've hosted pop-up maid cafe's with real food being served such as the Oinky Doink Maid cafe themed and collaborated with the Akiba Maid War anime, as well as with local maid cafes, such as Dreamland Maid cafe. The venue is also used for live events, giving a fun and underground feel if you're into indie idols and the such (or if you've seen it in anime or manga). They've hosted live events for local idols/groups and even V-tubers, along with meet and greets or buppan (when you can purchase merchandise and cheki) afterwards! During these events sometimes there's a costume/cosplay contest and open karaoke too. Great small event to have fun at. The workers here are always super friendly too.
