Hands down, best screen company ever! I have reached out to at least 5 screen places to get a custom made screen for my wrought iron front doors made and have been turned down or people not even showing up. Paul and Joe helped make our vision come true. They made custom magnetic screen frame for the front doors. They were able to fix it temporarily but I ordered the part needed. It was during the installation of this part I was so impressed with Paul Portillo's polite and helpful nature. Hunter Douglas referred AB as a supplier. I hired this company in January to replace shutters that were damaged. To date, I still don't have my replacement shutters. I paid $90 for a tech to show up and take measurements, etc. Apparently they lost their measurements and asked to send another technician today between 8-10am. No one bothered to show or reschedule. I needed all my blinds in my house replaced, and after receiving 5 quotes (one including Lowes), Ambassador Blinds was the best. One company offered the same price as what Joe offered, but in the end I went with Ambassador Blinds for several reasons: 1) Joe offered real wood blinds 2) His valence that came with the blinds was larger than other companies, which makes a nicer presentation on the windows 3) He offered to patch the holes in my walls and paint over them after my old blinds were removed (I had to provide the paint, but this was a big deal to me because I'm horrible at that kind of stuff!) Joe's price included installation and removal of my old blinds. His technician/installation man, Alfredo, was great! He was very polite, patient, and took his time to hang the blinds to perfection. Alfredo mentioned he's been working with Joe for 20 years, which is pretty impressive these days! Ambassador Blinds helped me come up with an idea for my 20' wall of glass in my home in Mountain Bridge. They installed Hunter Douglas motorized shades (with a Custom built wood cornice) and a wireless remote control. That was 1 1/2 years ago and my remote control stopped working a couple of days ago. I have worked with Ambassador Blinds for over 2 years utilizing multiple products they recommended. Their team was very helpful in design and selecting the right blind for each room. We settled on automatic blinds in the most used areas and manual blinds in the rest. We used different fabrics as well based on their recommendations. Everything came out great. We needed to change out all the window treatments for the late 1980s condo we purchased. Joe Del made the initial sales call and we ordered a 4 inch wood plantation shutters for every window and patio door in the place. He sent out his crew, Cecilia and Felipe to work out details, including lots of inside corner blinds which you just can't buy stock at the big box store. We were given choices on hardware color, finish and whether or not to use folding or sliding panels on the 9 foot patio doors. Installation was professional. There was a slight problem with rollers on the large patio doors and we met with Joe again. He sent out Cecilia who made the adjustments and ordered new rollers which work great. Joe and his crew are polite and left everything clean and tidy. I read the comment about Joe blowing off an appointment and had to laugh because I always confirm and remind contractors about appointments. Maybe it is because my son is ADD! We are so pleased with the work done on our place. It updated our unit and when it is hot or cold out, we notice a huge difference in how comfortable it is inside. These guys are great. They did an install of shutters and blinds for us. The initial install was excellent. They had to create a custom design for one of the applications, and it worked out great. So all of that was great. But the biggest thing is the customer service. One of the custom shutters was damaged, we called for a repair. A contractor who doesn't wear a watch? Anyway, I have no idea whether he does good work or not or whether his prices are fair. This review is in response to actions taken by Joe at Ambassador Blinds. After checking at several hardware stores and calling other businesses, I called Ambassador Blinds in hopes of finding a small replacement part for a piece of hardware that had broken and was needed to hold my blinds in place at my back door. The part was of little value, costing maybe $1.00, and, therefore, my inquiry was not one that would produce revenue for the company. A gentleman named Joe answered the phone, listened as I explained my need, and understood what I was referring to. Rather than considering my call insignificant and offering no assistance, Joe went out of his way to help me. After explaining that I had called a warehouse establishment, he asked for my name and address, stated that he would be in my area on his way home from work, and offered to deliver this small, $1 part to my house at no trip charge to me. Really? I was shocked, but was in hopes he would do that. Later that same evening, the part was at my front door with no invoice attached. I was overwhelmed by Joe's willingness to help a perfect stranger. What an extreme act of kindness from someone who had nothing to gain by his actions, but was willing to go out of his way to help meet my need. I am writing this review to acknowledge Joe's kindness and encourage everyone to consider Ambassador Blinds & Interior Design when the need for their services arises. I can only imagine the quality of care and customer service given by Joe to his customers if he is so willing to help a complete stranger.
