I came to this Amazon Fresh after a long time as I had to do a return and also purchase a shampoo they had in stock for a cheaper price compared to Walgreens. The return was very easy as usual, just showed the QR code and handed the items. I found the shampoo in the designated aisle for tue price I saw online. This time I took the time to surf around the store. I was surprised to see a whole back section I didn't know about. It was almost like Whole Foods. They had hot and cold food bars, rotisserie chicken, bakery items, soups and desserts. Soda cases were on sale as well, 12 cans case for $6.99 only, cheaper than Stop & Shop. I got a muffin. Also got couple of egg rolls that were so well made. I was so pleased to see despite being 7pm, so many of these food items were still available and maintained the taste and quality. After this experience, I'd be open to visiting this store more frequently. read more

First time I have been to an Amazon Fresh. Where I live in CA we do not have one and I can see why. It was sorta dark and dead. The food selection is like any supermarket with some twists. So that is a plus. Their desert and hot food area was nice...Smaller version of Whole Foods. Prices are ok or on par. Service was nice but the damn darkness of the place was just off. Maybe the colors too. Place seems gimmicky. Now if I had to compare this to Stew Leonard's, Stew is winning by miles. It is cheerful and lively. If you do like crowds after work and like to shop incognito and low key, this is the place. However if you like lively and cheerful, Stew Leonard's t is the place for you. read more

I had to stop getting groceries from Amazon fresh. They constantly didn't follow my instruction. I'm a senior and they would leave my groceries downstairs in an unlocked open are. They did this numerous times and drivers have the nerve to take a picture of the groceries in the wrong place. I also contacted customer service numerous times and the issue was still not resolve. My cousin has brought desserts from here to my house before. The cookies are pretty good. This time she brought this JOKE of a layer cake. It was more like an icing mess!! There was no cake. Four thousand pounds of greasy icing - not buttercream- shortening. The layers of cake looked like scraps. It was inedible. I "dismantled" it, took all the layers of grease out and put the cake and a little icing in a Tupperware to salvage. Very disappointing and I'm sure my cousin paid a fortune for it. read more

AMazon Fresh flyer advertises Rotisserie Chicken $5 on Sunday. Went to the store today ( Sunday) at 4 pm intending to have the chicken for dinner. THERE WERE NO ROTISSERIE CHHICKENS FOR SALE AND THERE WAS NO ONE THERE TO MAKE MORE.! The customer service desk was no help at all saying they were short handed. No Rain Check either! They said cone back tomorrow. Why would I . I dont live next door and how do I know if they will have them another day! Used Amazon and ordered through Amazon Fresh delivery twice this week. The delivery was timely and unproblematic, but the shopping personnel must get a bonus for selecting the most rotten food they can find for you. All of my produce was moldy or brown upon arrival, milk spilled, and half of my order was out of stock. Luckily I did get refunded on my produce, but it creates a lose-lose for everyone except the delivery driver who gets it to you and gets tipped. The in person experience is apocalyptic and lackluster, too. Can't say I didn't try I guess. read more

I popped in here on a whim, as I've never been. It took me a minute to figure out how to get access using my Amazon account info but now that I know it is the easiest thing ever. The store was clean and brightly lit and the shelves were stocked full of product . It was early on a weekday morning and sometimes that can go awry being that the trucks haven't come in yet. Definitely not the case here. I love that you enter into the produce section and they have it laid out so it's easy to find what you're looking for. Furthermore the organic section is highlighted so once again, easy to make your way to what you need. Moving my way through the outer part of the store, there is a bakery section, deli, sushi, meat, and fish. It looks like they were just stocking the fresh bread and no Sushi yet so come back later in the day or later morning if you are looking for that. The exit process was super easy and they had a gentleman working in case I need to be rung up in a different way and need a receipt. I simply walked my wagon through a checkout section and sensors added up my purchases and charged my credit card. Great and easy store and I will be back . read more

Oh how the mighty have fallen. this place was the SPOT for lunch. i work rather close and i would go here at least two/ three times a week for the hot foods. Not anymore. They got rid of the WHOLE POINT of the store, the "just walk out" feature. To be fair this is not my main concern, its the ridiculous pricing of the hot food/salad bar. Why get rid of paying by the box? The whole point of the mediocre food was for it to be cheap. Bring that and -just walk out- back and maybeeee the reviews wouldn't be dog crap. Awful experience. They said they could not deliver my order. No notice, no text communication about the delivery. Amazon customer service said that the delivery was 'delayed' and then transferred me to a muffled customer service agent who said it could not be delivered. No reason why. It's a cool idea to just grab whatever you need and walk out. Amazon Fresh is a grocery store version of Amazon Go. You scan your account to get in, and the cameras everywhere will track you and the items you grab. But there's also a checkout counter with a cashier, if you want to use that method instead. This is probably the only grocery store that's empty on the weekends. It's because most of the items are overpriced and marked up 50% and sometimes 100% of a regular supermarket. They do have deals/clearance items but you really have to have an eagle eye for them. The only reason we were shopping here was because we had a coupon for $10 off $40, but it was a struggle to look for items to add up to $40, unless you want to overpay. You also can't tell the amount you've spent so far on the app, so you'll have to do your own calculations. I wouldn't come back unless it was to bring someone who has never been to one of these before, just to show them the novelty of it. read more

THE SERVICE SUCKS! For days I have been trying to get my groceries delivered, but to no avail. I kept getting a message no delivery date and time available. I contacted Amazon to be given the run around by the associates ( transferred more than 10 times) I called to go through the same bull.. " This is not my dept " finally I found a rep who stated " we have no delivery service presently, it's best to go to the store " I think this is a problem , you guys are not in the competition, totally incompetent . This Amazon fresh is conveniently located by my gym. Thats a secondary reason to exercise, then pass by on the way home for necessities. I grabbed a cart, and headed in. I was greeted by an employee who offered me a flyer. He asked if I had any questions. I did. How did the palm scan work? You sign up in the store then use your hand instead of the Amazon app to check out. Neat. Forget your phone and wallet. No biggie! Use your palm print. I needed produce, so I started there. It's the first section. I picked up some broccoli, corn and blackberries. They all seemed a little dehydrated. Might need to turn on a water mister. The fish and meats looked good. The central rows of pantry items had plenty of variety. Finished shopping and headed to the front. Bypassed the electric gates and instead walked to a human being since it was my first time here. I wasn't sure how produce purchases worked. The cashier said produce is sold by piece. The weighted tables sense how many pieces you pick up and connect that data to your Amazon phone App. If you put the individual pieces back on the same table and select others, your phone knows. If you put them on a different table, you might confuse the weight system. Not wanting to deal with whether or not I put things back in the right places when picking my veggies, I let her ring up this purchase for me. If you're an Amazon prime member you get an extra discount. I'm not currently, but the prices weren't bad. Negatives. Only one I saw was that the produce wasn't as fresh and crisp as I would've hoped. Positives. It is a fully stocked grocery store. Not like the small snack shops in Manhattan. It has a large parking lot. The staff is very friendly. There are daily specials. That day was a whole rotisserie chicken and a 2L soda for $6. Whole heartedly, this place is terrible. The woman inside was perfectly nice. But the security they've hired outside is terrible. I pulled up along the store when we were leaving as it's been raining all day. My toddler is 4 and autistic. We were parked in front of the store for maybe 4 minutes total loading her into her car seat when the security guard pulled up and started waving at me to move on. 1. Talk to me like I'm a human, I don't respond to hand signals. You can f right off with that bs. 2. Have some compassion for people. Be human. 3. You are by no means an actual cop. So when I finally had enough after telling you we were loading our toddler in and you said move again, that's why I cursed at you freely and willingly. I'll never return to this store. read more

I'm not one who genuflects easily at the altar of convenience since I don't love the idea of giving third parties access to my financial information unless I am forced to. That said, Amazon Fresh is a really nice grocery store with a gimmick, give them your credit card info and there's no need to check out as the standard bar code does all the work. Fantastic, but with supermarket price coding errors running about 10%, why should I grin like a fool when I could literally be picking my own pocket. I respect Amazon but their operations are far from infallible (as a number of rain soaked package deliveries can attest.) So far so good but I paid the old fashioned way and since I visited on a whim who knows when I'll return. My overall cynicism suggests there may be a thing as "too convenient." Time will tell. Check out has always been the most annoying part of food shopping. You have to rush to quickly bag your stuff while hoping the cashier doesn't run into any problem that requires the manager to slowly make their way over with the override key. Amazon Fresh solves all that. Bag as you shop, nothing gets crushed. You can keep the cold stuff and hot stuff separate, no need to drag it out and re-bag. We finally got Amazon Fresh here in Paramus and I honestly love it. I really like the fact that I never have to talk to someone or wait on line to check out of a grocery store ever again. If you hate taking all your groceries out, putting it on a conveyer belt and then putting it all back into your cart again then Amazon Fresh is the place for you. I don't know how this technology works but you just put groceries in your cart and somehow the system knows what you got. Then you leave. That's it really. You enter the store, scan the QR code on your Amazon app. Collect groceries. Scan QR code again and walk out. Simple. I love it but I took a star off for 2 reasons: 1. I took me a couple of hours to receive my itemized receipt. When I looked at it, I was charged for brussel sprouts instead of the cucumber I actually bought. Really not a big deal, I'm sure the prices were comparable. Second, options are limited. Not quite as plentiful as shoprite. More like Stew Leonard's. Still a nice selection. I will definitely be back. They have good deals and fair prices. Hopefully they continue ironing out the kinks so people are charged correctly for the products they put in their carts. read more

Is it a little weird that there are sensors and cameras everywhere - yeah, but it's a cool experience. We scanned our QR code to get in and quickly took care of a return. We figured we'd check out the selection and do a bit of food shopping. It's a very clean store with a ton of friendly staff. The prices are clearly labeled and they have a good variety of items. I visited this location because I am waiting for the Rt46 location to open. I like the concept. Getting the app to work at first was annoying and took about 5-10 mins to finally get the QR code to pop up on my phone. Once in the store is SUPER CLEAN! I mean like brand new clean LOL. Few employees but LOts of Alexia are around to answer questions. Prices are OK. Look for the Red Tags as those are the Discounts. Checkout was Easy you just walk out. It felt kinda strange doing that as you feel like you are stealing. :-) Overall this will not replace me going to my local Shoprite or Stop and shop But I will visit the Rt46 location when it opens from time to time. read more

One of the more interesting grocery experiances I've ever had. It has cameras everywhere and if you are a Prime member, you can scan your code as you enter and be billed for anything you walk out with automatically, no need to checkout. If you want to checkout the traditional way with a cashier, you can as well. the store was well stocked the few times Ive visited and everything seemed very fresh. The hot bar and salad bar has some decent food. Pizza is sold by the slice ($2) and the food at the bar are sold by container size, really good deal IMO. Everything is well priced, not cheap but not overly pricey either. They have many sale items like any other grocery store and further discounts for Prime members. The customer service accepts returns for Amazon orders which is really convenient. the store never seems to be crowded which I like and there's ample parking. they even have dinning section towards the front if you want to eat your prepared food before you leave. read more

Going to Hell in a Handbasket! When this store first opened, it had a lot of promise, and seemed to have good stock, competitive prices, and excellent customer treatment. Fast-fowarding to the present, the hot deli chickens (previously selling at less than $5 plus tax) have jumped two dollars in price, the quality has gone down, and some days, there are simply no chickens roasted! The excuse this past week, twice when we came in to try to buy one: a broken roasting oven! Huh? Then why not have it fixed! You can't call the store to find out, because it has no incoming phone number for customers to use. That's insane! Bottom line, this store has become a sad shadow of what it was when it opened, and seems to be begging for a shut-down. read more

I greatly enjoyed coming here because it was convenient and easy. I could just scan in, put stuff in my cart and scan out. They don't always have what I need but they get the job done for the most part. HOWEVER, they changed the technology of the store and now you scan in on a cart and have to scan every product you put into said cart since they removed the cameras around the store that would do it for you. It feels like they just added extra steps for the customer. If I want to stand there scanning stuff, I'll just go to another store and do self checkout. The technological updates made this store lose its appeal to me. read more

Great concept but they are not ready went 2 times different times of day 830am and a week later 1130 want to buy breakfast bagels and breakfast stuff nothing was ready went a week later to buy lunch nothing ready. Underwhelming. Much smaller store footprint than the Fairway that had been at that location, and also by comparison to long-gone Fairway, a stripped-down selection and less competitive prices. Felt more like being in an oversized, Amazon-centric convenience store. I did the QR-code entry and exit "just walk out" option and was told I'd get a receipt by e-mail in about an hour. Wait, what? My duplicate, courtesy electronic ShopRite receipts hit my phone before I leave their store! The Amazon Fresh receipt didn't show up for 5 HOURS (after 2 AM)! Now I also do scan-and-bag-as-you-shop with Walmart+ which only requires scanning a single QR code at self checkout for ALL the purchases, and that produces an electronic receipt immediately (no paper receipt, completely contactless experience). Maybe Amazon Fresh doesn't want you to see how much you're spending? 2 stars instead of 1 because it was clean, staff was friendly....and everywhere, and IF you're into the Amazon food brands (I am not) or just want to check them out, they have them here, and also some people around me clearly loved just grabbing a bag of chips. And they have 15-cent, individual RIPE bananas (under the HUGE SIGN). But none of those things makes it a competitive supermarket in this area! COUPON ALERT for the Paramus "OPENING" As of today July 29 2022 I still see the "coupon" QR code in my Amazon app (yes I have Prime) for $10 dollars off $20 in purchases at Amazon Fresh. I visited this location twice so far and both times used the QR scan method rather than the traditional checking out to pay. The first time, it took approximately 6 hours to get my electronic receipt and the second time was around an hour. However, the total amount was inaccurate for both visits as they charged for the wrong items. I am not confident enough in their system to get my purchases scan correctly to continue using the QR code method and the prices are not good enough for me to go out of my way. However, I am giving 3 stars because the staffs are friendly and the store is kept very clean. read more

The store is clean, well lit, and well stocked. They had an employee right at the entrance to answer any questions you might have.. I didn't have the app on the phone so all I had to do was swipe my credit card at the entrance and that was it. The prices were on par with Stop and Shop or Acme and I was surprised when another employee offered me a $10 off coupon, so I ended up getting a pretty good deal on this grocery run. I think the location might end up being troublesome for them, along with all the grocery store competition in the area, but I hope they stick around because it was such an easy and smooth way to shop.
