Stopped in this morning around 8:30am. It's one of the only TJ's that still opens at 8am - the rest don't open until 9am. I could not believe how many flowers they had ready for the Valentine's Day rush - and let me say it was definitely a rush!!! Tons of people buying tons of flowers. Organic walnuts. I purchase organic nuts here. Th almonds have been good, but th walnuts continue to have many rancid nuts in a bag that expires 12/12/27 when its 6/14/26 today. This Trader Joe's is large and spacious with wide aisles, which is such a pleasant experience when you're used to shopping at stores in the city. They also often have local Jersey produce in addition to the usual pre-packaged fruits and vegetables, which is great. Most of the products offered are the same as other stores, but it just feels like they have more of everything because they have more space. The other thing I really like here is reading the history of Paramus and Trader Joe's on the wall whenever we visit. I've yet to read the whole thing, only getting through a few at a time while we check out (since the lines are never that long when we're there), but it's entertaining. The only not-so-great thing is that, like many Trader Joe's stores, the parking lot isn't that big, and it can get crowded, especially at peak times. read more

I like going to this Trader Joe's. The employees here have always been very friendly and helpful. If you can I would recommend coming on weekdays or early in the morning as it can get very busy and the store is small. Price: One of the best things about Trader Joe's is their competitive pricing. The average product here is about $3 (I.e cookies, pasta, cheese, cereal). Prices are a bit more for other items like chicken, fish..etc. This is also a great spot to get inexpensive flowers! Quality: For the price, everything is really good! Cheeses are phenomenal, granola, gummy candy, bagels, pasta. I can't speak for poultry or fish as I haven't tried it. Parking: There's a decent sized lot with parking but as mentioned earlier this location will get crowded quickly so I would try to get here early or on non peak hours. read more

I love Trader Joes, and when a trader joes rings true to their branding of friendly staff, great products, and new items, what's there not to love. While I always can find items to stock my cart, one thing I did notice about this location is the weird placement of products and lack of fruit and veggie options. It's a good place to stop in to buy a few frozen goodies and treats, but definitely not the place I can do all of my bulk grocery shopping. Due to corona you are not allowed to bring in reusable bags, they have hand sanitizer at the door, and they restrict the number of entry. read more

I love Trader Joe's but I have to say this is my least favorite. It may because it's an extremely busy location, but they are frequently out of items, and parking can be a nightmare. The store is a little tight for all of the business they do. I was there last night and one of the team members pretty much startled me by coming up to me and screaming "how may I be of service" - I was literally a little frightened he was so strangely aggressive in how he came up to me out of all the patrons in the store ! It was actually kind of weird!! I said what and he repeated himself and I just said I'm fine but thank you. Yeah not going back to this location. We are at a very uncertain. In time right now so I have to take a moment to praise the store for how well they are handling this crisis. Trader Joe's should be investigated for price gouging by the federal government and by state governments.. They have just issued another price increase of 9%(well above inflation) on certain items. This is on top of the exorbitant increases during covid that were never removed. It is time to start boycotting them and move our business to Walmart or local grocery stores. read more

I visited this location for the first time the other day. It was a bit smaller than the location I went to in the past. I visited on a Tuesday evening about an hour before closing and it was fairly busy for that time. I've always had good experiences in Trader Joe's. My cashier Melanie was very friendly. This location generally has friendly and helpful staff. It's clean and often jam packed no matter what day of the week it is. Selections often vary, but I always find something unique to try. On my recent visit I found shishito peppers and was thrilled! Of course I can never leave without picking up their blue cheese pecan dip! Often they are offering samples and of course, free coffee. This visit we sampled chimichurri rice! Tasted great and I made it during the week for dinner with shrimp. Prices are always affordable here and I consider it a treat when I can stop in. Best Trader Joe's in New Jersey! I came during Covid crisis, but the store had sanitizing down to a T. The line was pretty quick and everyone was practicing distancing. Shelves were STOCKED! I usually go to TJ's in Hoboken, but the lines are so ridiculous that we decided to take the trip to North Jersey to run some errands for family members. Have to give Kudos to this Trader Joe store. I was in search of the belgian waffles, after visiting one TJ location and they were out of them. The staff at the previous location did not attempt to inquire on when the next shipment would be in or if another nearby location would carry it. I took to Yelp to find this location and speak with their customer service department with my inquiry. The woman went and held two boxes for me, so that I didn't have to chance not finding any in the freezer. Once I got there, I informed customer service of my conversation and the lady came out with a bag and two boxes of belgian waffles (my favorites). Was embarrassed to bring someone here (whod never been to TJ) Everything was almost empty- everything barely stocked & random items of food rolling around ....& I spent $17 on lamb which was absolutely RANCID upon opening. We drive from the store to home using a Yeti cooler full of ice so this was not a transport issue. The sell by date was for February ( which is two days from now) . Trader Joe's always has a good selection of items to choose from. They have some good ready to make meals. I enjoy going to Trader Joe's but never enjoy how crowded it gets. First and foremost, to find parking is always a nightmare. Then, when you get inside it's never a run in and out experience. It is always swamped with people which then result to not so stocked shelves. I guess the upside of that is always having fresh stuff, but they aren't able to keep up with the in-flow of people that come in; especially on Sundays! I was told by a staff member that they discontinued my husbands favorite tamales and there are a few other items I normally get that I couldn't find on their shelf's. I truly enjoy going to this Trader Joe's location, the merchandise is neatly organized and always stocked. Generally, I always have an enjoyable experience at Trader Joe's. Granted, this isn't a one-stop-shop grocery store for me, but I love the mom and pop, sustainable, health conscious, community vibe they work to propagate. Every time I enter the sliding doors with that little red cart it feels like a warm hug. Sort of like, how I imagine Ben & Jerry's would be as a supermarket chain. I just know good things are coming my way. It's unique yet inviting without any of the cold detachment or smug disposition you get from stores like Fairway and Whole Foods. My favorite sections to shop are the deli meats and cheeses and the frozen aisle. You can uncover some fantastic, above average, lazy day dinners and desserts in here. Every time I feel like I'm on a scavenger hunt to find the latest food treasure tucked away in some corner of the store. It helps that they feature different items at sample tables throughout the week and the coffee's always free! For me, grocery shopping doesn't get more fun than knowing there's always something new on the shelves that I can take home and experiment with in my own kitchen. And something about Trader Joe's gives me the courage to do so. Maybe it's the approachable and knowledgeable staff that make even the most hectic trips feel easy. I'm always impressed by the work ethic of both the stockers and cashiers at this location. They work quick and cater to the customers' needs at the drop of a hat by price checking, locating an item, or checking on-hands for you. Worth every penny. read more

On June 17, 2024, my daughter and I experienced excellent service by an employee named Anthony. He was our cashier and went above and beyond his responsibilities. We needed to keep some food cold, and he created an igloo in our bag of our frozen foods to put yogurt in the center. He then found a method of keeping our eggs, cool as well. I realize the management is not to blame for its patrons behavior, however, IF there was a "policy" that directs the flow of "in store traffic" that would create a more enjoyable shopping experience... both in the store and parking lot! Consideration might be paired to the in store traffic patterns that "Stew Leonard" employs. Patrons that pay little or no regard to others make shopping much more difficult than it needs to be. If you crossed Trader Joe's with Whole Foods, Shoprite, Stop & Shop and Fairway -- perhaps you'd have a Wegman's. I wish we had a Wegman's nearby, but (*sigh*) we don't. That leaves me to itinerant and sometimes frenetic shopping at all the other local stores -- sourcing the eclectic and pedestrian edibles we like that no single food store in the region has under one roof. Trader Joe's is a novelty market for the gluten free set. It's big on its own branding -- which usually means good prices if occasionally bizarre combinations. When my sweetie tries to get me to eat non-gmo, kelp infused soybean and quinoa, gluten free organic pasta seasoned with turmeric and matcha -- I go for rice -- thank you very much.. This location is tiny compared to many of its sibs, and with TJ, size matters to me. Barely enough elbow room in the aisles on a good day, and the customers pinball around the aisles like stoners most every day. I can't say I'm fond of the overly ebullient hippie/hipster-like staff either: they annoy the bejeezus out of me (my cynical NY values I guess). Plus, this location is not well stocked, the produce (except for bananas) 'aint great, the live orchids never last, and it attracts some funky looking and sounding customers. Sweetie likes this TJ because they have specialty items we use regularly that are three times the price elsewhere (e.g. dried fruits and nuts, almond meal, Turkish honey, french macarons, frozen croissant dough from France, interesting condiments, etc.) These bargains make the foray worthwhile. Shopping at Trader Joe's in Paramus has always been a breath of fresh air, compared to the total chaos of the Manhattan stores. The aisles are wider, the inventory is more reliable, and the layout makes it easier to find the items I'm looking for among the stocked freezers and shelves. This store (along with the other Trader Joe's locations in the Tri-State Area) implemented regular safety procedures shortly after the start of the pandemic. They limit the number of customers allowed inside and enforce social distancing for the line of people outside. And while there is often a wait to enter the store, it moves fairly quickly - even on their busiest days, I don't expect to stand outside longer than fifteen or twenty minutes. Immediately before walking in, I'm offered hand sanitizer by an employee, and prior to their handoff to the next customer, the handles on the baskets and carts are wiped down. As I've mentioned, the shopping experience is pleasant, and what I need is usually in stock. On the few occasions they haven't and I've approached a crew member, they've been helpful and courteous, frequently sharing their knowledge of the products and making their own suggestions. Granted, I've had similar interactions at nearly every Trader Joe's, but I've never had a poor customer service experience here. It isn't my neighborhood supermarket, but whenever I'm in vicinity and need to pick up a few items, I make sure to stop by the Paramus store. read more

I love Trader Joe's, not really sure how anyone could hate on this place. This is the main location, both my girlfriend and I have been shopping at weekly. This place is newly expanded and has so much to choose from. The employees are always very nice and very willing to help you with anything. Had a great experience with a young man, Will, who helped me find some product - nice guy who really cares about his job, you can tell. When my girlfriend came in here for the first time, she was talking to the cashier who asked her about her experience and she had mentioned it was her first time in the store and the cashier rang a bell and an employee brought a rose over to her. If that isn't amazing customer appreciation, I don't what is. So awesome. As many good things i can say about this place, i must unfortunately mention that it is usually a mad house in here. The parking lot is typically JAMMED but its centrally located in Paramus on Rt 17, i can't really hold it against them. People clearly love this place, and so do i. Aside from the crappy parking situation this place is great. You may pay a premium for certain products here over a "Shoprite" but its worth it. The quality of everything is fantastic and as someone who can't cook, Trader Joe's is my dream. Everything is ready to eat and all the hard work is done for you. read more

What a sweet and small grocery store! I came here two days ago with a friend because we wanted to stop somewhere to get a few things and low and behold, I feel like I've been introduced to greatness! First of all, I absolutely love the fact that the store is so small, so you can easily get whatever the hell you want and walk right out. Second, they bag your groceries for you! Honestly, I get horrible anxiety whenever I have to bag my own groceries because somehow, those bags dislike me very much and end up making me look crazy.
