Not impressed at all. The store doesn't seem to have any supermarket workers, just checkout people and the Amazon curbside shoppers, neither which known the inventory or are helpful in any way. The coffee machine was broken but customer service basically said it isn't their problem (not sure who else's problem it would be). Manager was nice but seemed to be tied to his laptop and didn't have time for questions. Pizza was undercooked and tasteless. Feels more like a food warehouse for curbside shoppers and not for actual shoppers in the store. read more

I think I speak for all residents in the area: we had been waiting with a lot of anticipation for Amazon Fresh to open. The area was lacking a good basic grocery store after Giant was forced out. Whole Foods is too expensive and does not carry many basic brands. So our hopes were up for Amazon Fresh (AF). Man. Are we disappointed!! They are constantly out of stock of the most basic items. The shelves are literally bare in many sections and aisles. When you ask staff about it, they simply say they are having supply issues. That is an understatement! Bread? Not there. Milk? Out. Various fruits? Sporadic. Meats? Smaller than expected selection. Soda? Shelves empty. Etc etc etc. This Soviet Fresh may look nice, but for a company that prides itself on having everything, AF grocery is out of many basics on a daily basis. I wish we received any other major grocery chain. We will give them another month to see if they can improve on basic stocking of basic supplies. read more

Awful service both by customer service center and folks on the floor/behind registers. It's always lacking selection with empty shelves and employees not willing to assist in finding items or anything else for that matter. read more

Went here on a Sunday at 6:45pm during their opening week. While there were some hiccups, I'll definitely return to this location for a few reasons. Pros: very nice people who work here who are trying their best. Clean. Some items marked very competitively as regular prices that are the same price as what I'd find for sale at my neighborhood Safeway, like Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Great deals on sushi and poke bowls ($10 here, versus $15 at a poke place). Good options for a economical lunch in the midst of an expensive city, like a slice of fresh pizza for less than $2 and a whole cheese pizza for $9. Free parking for 2 hours and free EV vehicle charging. Cons: this may be grand-opening week pains, but there were lots of sections that were bare like in the produce section and some of the snack aisle sections. As far as grocery stores goes, this is pretty bare-bones in terms of being able to find specialty items. For example, for meats, they only stock the basic meats and cuts. Want to make lamb chops? Don't shop here. Skip the Amazon Dash cart. If you have a coupon or are planning to buy items that are discounted, you can't use the Amazon Dash cart, which I didn't know about until I had already fully stocked my cart. Watch carefully as you put items into the cart. Most items I placed in my cart were double counted. Despite the issues, I like this store and the people who work there, so I will come back when I need to get the basics. read more

What an awful store! There was hardly anyone in it, and they have a limited selection of everything. Two people virtually refused to help me, as they were bagging orders. When I found someone to help, he laughed and said, "Oh, we don't sell raisins." THe one nice note was a manager, who took me to the artisan bread selection. Unfortunately, they only had one kind. The check out cashier was surly and in answer to my question if she was free said, "What does it look like" and the next one didn't offer to bag my groceries. This is an incredible contrast to the Whole Foods store nearby, where everyone is helpful from floor workers to cashiers. Never again for Amazon Fresh! read more

Unfortunately, I ordered on line, paid fir the order, order scheduled for delivery and never arrived. When I called customer service no explanation was offered but opportunity to reorder, which I declined. read more

it's a great convenient store but they advertise that they have apple pay when they don't so bring ur wallet didn't wanna use my debit card but can't tap my credit card, why get pin pads that take apple pay if it's not accepted/doesn't work read more

A fulfillment center vibe. Dark, super cold, with very basic products. Matched my expectations exactly, so no disappointment here.

Very poor quality of produce at high prices. It has lots of unhealthy and poor grocery options. Not much going on in the meat and seafood dept. we went there once and last time. I would rather have a Trader Joe's in there. We stopped going to Whole Foods altogether also since quality of customer service and groceries has declined dramatically. read more

Apparently you cannot use Dash carts after 9 pm. Thanks for a pointless walk to the store. I suggest allowing them only between 8:50 pm and 9 pm. read more

This shelves in this store are half empty a lot of the time. There is hardly any spring water. The bread slicing machine does not work. I have asked customer service to take care of it, and they are not interested. Whole Foods is a short distance away. I will do my shopping there and at Rodman's read more

This store is a BIG disappointment. Ugly inside, out of milk, and then I discovered that they don't accept any form of payment other than the Amazon app, cash, or actual credit cards. No tap. I left my shopping there, no need to return. read more

Was excited about the opening and chose to go there. Was very dissatisfied with the place. Very slow service but the most disappointing thing was I was hungry for a hot sandwich and THEY WERE OUT OF BREAD !!! WENT THERE THE NEXT DAY AND THE SAME THING. WAS TOTALLY TURNED OFF !!! read more

This store is so weird. you only have two choices: using the Amazon fresh cart or waiting in the checkout line. There's no self check out so for one item or only a few items it is a pain. I don't want to use a giant cart for just one or two things and I don't wanna wait in a long line as the place is not very well staffed and only one check out line was open. Also when I tried to return an item there was nobody at the customer service window and I stood there for 10 minutes before someone acknowledged my presence. I'm not sure it is a system that really works read more

My sushi was literally frozen. The cucumber was ice. And the chicken from the "hot bar" was somehow colder.

The parking at both the Wisconsin Avenue Washington, DC and Chevy Chase Lake Terrace Chevy Chase, MD locations was poorly marked and took an extra 10 minutes to figure out where to park. I started at the Wisconsin Avenue store and they informed me the $20 off coupon I had was not valid at their store and suggested I drive a couple of miles to the new Chevy Chase Lake Terrace store. There I ended up in Residential parking with a non working elevator and got back in the car to drive around inside the parking garage only to find that the parking entrance gate was broken and I had to illegally enter the Amazon Fresh lot. The attendants at the entrance didn't do a good job of explaining the shopping options or I wouldn't have used my Amazon app to scan if I had realized my checkout would result in no receipt, no way to validate I wasn't overcharged for items I didn't pick up or keep, and no help bagging groceries. On exit they told me my receipt would come by email within an hour. About 3 hours later I got a push notification and reviewed the items and there were at least half a dozen items I didn't buy and no sign of the $20 discount that was the whole reason I tried the Amazon Fresh store. I immediately called the customer service number provided on a business card by the exit attendant who had to explain that I and the other new shoppers would have to leave the store with no idea how much each of us spent. The Customer Service attendant and her supervisor were not able to help me since I haven't received the formal receipt which includes a receipt number required for any credits. They told me it could take up to 24 hours which is even more unreasonable than waiting an hour for a receipt. The list of purchased items disappeared from the Amazon App while I was on the phone with customer service. They suggested I would have to call back tomorrow (Monday) or the next day when I finally receive my receipt which is totally unreasonable to expect someone who works full time to have to deal with customer service issues on a work day. I informed them I planned to dispute the charge with Chase Bank who manages their Amazon Prime VISA credit cards and they said that would cause problems with my Amazon Prime account. What a disappointment! I never plan to shop at Amazon Fresh again!!! read more
