I really have to hand it to them on service though- the Giant couponing and discount systems can be tricky, and sometimes I'll just confuse brands because of similar coloring or design. The endless patience of the checkout and information desk staff with my many dumb mistakes is really noteworthy. They're crisp and efficient, and more than willing to humor me in my attempts to save a dollar. Also, there's a CVS nearby, and this Giant stocks nearly everything they have at significantly lower prices. With an easy self-checkout, if you're in the area and need a quick (or not so quick) grocery or household goods pickup, Giant is your best option.

They also have hard liquor and beer, so most people will be able to find what they are looking for. Another big plus is the number of self-checkout stations, so I did not have to wait in line. The parking lot can be a bit confusing and chaotic depending on the time of day, so keep that in mind. Do not forget to get your parking validated before leaving the store.

I am part Russian and occasionally crave pierogi (vareniki); Wegmans is one of very few stores that sell fresh refrigerated pierogi (these are much better than the frozen ones). The last few times I instacarted these, I put them in my fridge and a few days later, after opening, I noticed they were moldy. One time I even put them directly in the freezer, and when I opened them they were moldy. I kind of gaslit myself and figured it was my fault for waiting too long to cook them. Well, yesterday I went to Wegmans in person and saw stocked moldy pierogis!! I mean several of the packages had visible mold. I cannot believe Wegmans is selling these, and clearly this is an ongoing issue for months. This really makes me question buying fresh food from Wegmans, given this wasn't a one off. Hopefully this is just limited to the pierogis, which is a specialty product that I assume doesn't have high turnover. Nonetheless buyer beware!! Wegmans, please fix!

I ate this one in front of the White House which was pretty cool, although I had the yips when I was recording the video due to the sheer amount of people around. Therefore, for that moment I felt like I was in heaven when I stopped in and saw the wine selections, my heart was happy, I felt like I was back home in Seattle, WA, and for those of you who have never been to Washington State, one thing you need to know is this, you can buy beer, wine and liquor very late at any grocery store, 7-11, gas stations and/mom & pop stores in and outiside of the city and that's why I was so happy to see Trader Joe's in DC had the option to shop for both groceries libations (wine). The staff members are always happy to help you find items, and customer service is always great, in my opinion. I love me some Trader Joe's, even if I'm not able to purchase wine at my local Trader Joe's, or not is still my favorite place to shop for my groceries since I eat the same thing I already know how much I'm going to spend on griceries. and I will take the drive. Also the staff here are what makes this location so great! They are always so friendly, fast, and efficient! I have been to other locations where there was a lack of friendliness and efficiency, and these qualities really make the difference. Trader Joe's also still manages to have reasonable prices in DC which I appreciate. Lastly, they have free parking which is always a bonus.

I literally waited the 40 minutes two weeks ago and came back to the deli and the deli staff person told me (different person than 40 minutes ago) that he just got in and it would be 30 to 40 minutes!!!! I go at 3 pm, no chicken, i go at 430, no chicken, i got at 530, no chicken. When there isn't the "deal," there's always roasted chicken, but on Mondays, there's "30 to 40 minutes." Bait and switch much?!? This time, i talked to the manager (just arrived on shift today at 530) and told her that this keeps happening. She walked away from me as I was taking to her TWICE. I asked for a rain check since this is the 4th straight time and was dismissed. They actually don't seen to care at all. And it's always the same deli staff telling me it'll be 30 to 40 minutes. They know me by now but don't seem to care about this. They have the fried chicken and the habenero chicken, just never the roasted chicken. My daughter loves the roasted chicken, but not on Mondays I guess.

I appreciate the variety of ingredients I can get here, from fresh nopales to cashew milk to tamarind to canned ackee. The huge number of fresh tortillas, both flour and corn, is also awesome. The only thing that would make Avenue better is a more diverse selection--it's missing some basics like nuts and tofu and fresh herbs (besides cilantro and parsley). If those gaps were filled this would be my regular grocery store!

If your looking for ice cream, the selection is pretty limited. But if you're srsly jonesin' , you'll find something in the way of Breyers, Turkey Hill, Greens, and a random "premium" pint here and there.
