This location isn't as close as the Trader Joe's on H Street NE in DC, but we were in the area. There is a Target and parking garage connected to the stores. The store is a bit cramped. There is a nice selection of items (a smaller inventory that you would expect to find at any Trader Joe's). The produce looks great. There are interesting snacks (pickle flavored popcorn). There is a great selection of cheeses and "picnic" items. Trader Joe's carries a mock chicken seasoning that I like. You can find neatly packaged fresh meat and vegetarian items. Parking is free for 2 hrs.

    Pumpkin cereal bars. My favorite!

Tiny parking spaces aside, I really like this location. It's easy to miss from the street, as it is wedged on the top floor of a cluster of buildings. The exterior belies the size as the store was surprisingly spacious. Of course, the store was plastered in pumpkin items and it made it all too easy to find what I came for: the pumpkin cereal bars. I've waited all year for this moment and I definitely took advantage! (I may, or may not have left with eight boxes. Don't judge me.) Despite the line, check out was relatively quick, and the cashier was an absolute sweetheart. I wish I had more time to browse, but I had to get going. If I'm in the neighborhood again, now that I know that there's a TJ's nearby, I'll be sure to stop by and pay a visit.

This trader joe space feels a little tight. It has all the staples but it is not as delightful as the other ones I have been to in the DMV. It's not really convenient to where I live so I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. It was ok but as Trader Joe's go, it was just ok.

I went there right before they closed. Everybody was busy preparing for tomorrow. No alcohol here?!? Variety: Ok besides alcohol. Sample: Ice milk coffee. Delicious! Customer service: Hmmmm... Many mistakes. Even at a cashier. Attention: You should check the price tag well. They made some mistakes like organic or non-organic garlic. Parking: Free.

Succulent purchased in the spring. I transplanted it in a bigger pot in the summer, planning on it getting big this year!

GROCERY STORE / FLOWER SHOP!!!! I often stop by to pick up some grocery favorites and try something new, but mostly I'm a fan of this location due to a huge selection of plants that they have each week. And they're very affordable! The flower and plant selection that this Bethesda location has is so large, they should advertise as part-flower shop. It's the best out of any other TJ location. They always have new flowers and plants coming in and wilted ones taken off the shelves. They sure have volume but not so much of a variety for a collector - for someone who wants a totally new plant to add to my collection, it can get a bit redundant. For example, out of orchids they mainly carry just the Phalaenopsis (moth) type, many are similar in coloring, quality is average, rare to see unique phals, and they stopped carrying other species/hybrids. However, they do have a huge selection and the price is right for anyone needing a decent beautiful orchid that has plenty of blooming time left. Orchids are $6.99 to $19.99. The 'regular' large orchids are $12.99. Succulents ($2.99 to $8.99 or so). I got a few, which I love, and now patiently wait for something more unique to arrive-sure wish they would carry the type that I can only find online. They have mini potted plants for $1.99 and usually have a decent seasonal selection. They are so cute!!! Also, wish they had more variety. They always have something new that's in season. Now it's amaryllises. And they had beautiful pumpkins around Halloween time. There's plenty of cut flowers to choose from too! Overall, this location is my go-to economical flower shop!! And, the American Plant store on River Rd is my primary flower shop/plant nursery that has more variety, generally higher quality plants that also often costs more.

    For the smoked salmon dip.

It's under an apartment building, which makes it feel less like parking and more like playing a live-action game of Tetris with SUVs. Honestly, it's a little bananas (pun absolutely intended). But hey, what can you do? You survive the parking, and then you get rewarded with the magical land of Trader Joe's. Once you step inside, it's a completely different story. The store is bright, fresh, and easy to navigate. No wandering around like you're trapped in a corn maze--everything is right where you expect it. Within minutes, my cart went from "just eggs and milk" to "how did I end up with three bags of frozen dumplings, Cookie Butter, and enough snacks to survive the apocalypse?" The food? Always fresh. The produce section is unbeetable (sorry, couldn't resist). The frozen aisle? A greatest hits collection of comfort food. And the snacks? Dangerous. You don't go to Trader Joe's to stick to a list--you go to "accidentally" find new obsessions. And don't even get me started on the seasonal items. I fall in love, get attached, and then they disappear faster than free samples. (RIP pumpkin kringle, gone too soon.) The staff here are the real MVPs. Everyone is friendly, cheerful, and ready to help. Need to find something? They'll walk you to it. Buy a new snack? They'll tell you the best way to enjoy it. The cashiers are basically snack therapists--nodding along, validating my frozen orange chicken addiction like it's a completely normal life choice. And of course, the flowers. Somehow Trader Joe's has the power to convince me I'm the kind of person who always has fresh flowers at home. For $5, my kitchen suddenly looks Pinterest-worthy, and my groceries feel fancier than they actually are. So yes--the parking is tight, but the payoff is worth it. Trader Joe's is the breadwinner of grocery stores (get it?). It's the place where you come for groceries but leave with joy, snacks, and probably a bag of peanut butter pretzels you never knew you kneaded.

It was a combination of plusses and minuses. First, I thought the store was quite clean and well stocked, always a good thing. I would have expected the produce area to be larger though. The meat department was again well stocked and clean, though some of the seafood, particularly the salmon, did not look fresh. They carry their Care One line of personal care items that I buy in my local stores. Prices seem a bit steeper down here, probably a result of the location. But in fairness, not having visited a lot of other grocery stores in the area, I can't say whether these prices are competitive or not. But most items not on sale were typically 10% more expensive than where I shop at home. The parking lot is inadequate for the amount of business they do, and I think they would have benefited from some additional entrances and exits. You do need to proceed with caution and keep a watchful eye when driving through it.
