We like to sit in the bar unless we're going to go for a super duper fancy dinner. The bar is very upscale and the servers attention to detail to the uniforms also is unmatched. While we normally go there for fancy dinner tonight we just wanted a cheeseburger which is on the bar menu which they don't really tell you about. They do bring a selection of fresh baked bread and flatbread with the most beautiful salted butter you've ever had. Both my wife and myself went for the burger and it came out cooked just as we had ordered. It comes with some truffle fries and just the right amount. My son ordered the 14 oz strip steak cooked medium and I swear whoever they have back there cooking the meat knows exactly what they're doing. My son also got some veg and an order of truffle fries and then proceeded to finish the other half of my wife's Burger as well true to form. We had a $50 gift card that we were supposed to use by February but the manager on duty was very cool and honored it anyway. Overall The Capital grille is not some place that you should ever not consider if you're in the area!

I made our reservation through OpenTable and included a few special requests. Every one of them was honored, including providing mocktails for the celebratory toast since my parents don't drink alcohol. The staff truly helped make their evening extra special. Our waitress, Sara, was exceptional! She was personable, warm, knowledgeable, and attentive. She went above and beyond effortlessly, making us feel genuinely cared for throughout the evening. She is truly a gem at The Capital Grille. The food was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed everything we ordered, and everyone had wonderful things to say about their meal. Even the mocktail was fantastic. I usually order an alcoholic drink when I dine out, but I would happily order that mocktail again. To top off the evening, they surprised us with celebratory desserts, which made the night even more special. If you're looking for the perfect restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, choose The Capital Grille. From the outstanding service to the delicious food and thoughtful attention to detail, they helped create an unforgettable evening for my parents' milestone celebration. You'll be glad you did!

The vibe: dark and dingy comes to mind right away. The weird pirate and the vibe is a little odd. It reminds me of an Applebees that goes out of business and then gets remodeled into something else. I saw a large TV somewhere so it makes me think sports bar. I wasn't here for the vibe so I didn't pay too close attention. The food: I ordered a pound of shrimp (headless) and a pound of sausage. Added eggs and potatoes. Came in that fancy bag which was fun to open. Also got an order of chicken wings that I didn't feel was worth snapping a picture of, but they were a tad over cooked. I guess better over than under, right? Speaking of overcooked, the shrimp and sausage were also over cooked, but I was so hungry that I didn't care. The flavor was quite good. Not too spicy, but still a good kick. The service: service was great. My server didn't write down my long order so I was somewhat worried after he left, but it came out correctly so props to him. The hostess was nice and attentive. Didn't need a drink refill and I liked that my server got me in and out very fast. Asked for a box and check and was good to go in a minute. Couldn't ask for more. Overall, didn't regret coming here. Hit the spot. Would love to go back!

Disappointing dining experience, despite one good entrée item…read more My party had a reservation for 4 PM and unfortunately the experience began poorly before we even sat down. The advertisement specifically stated that a valet parker would be available to park cars with guest only expected to tip. However, when we arrived, there was no valet parker present. As a result, we had to park across the busy street near the bank and run across Harvard Road to get to the restaurant. When we entered, we were seated, but the service did not improve enough to offset the frustrating arrival. The overall flow of the visit felt disorganized, unappreciated, rushed and the issues at the beginning, set a negative tone for the rest of the dining experience. I was the last to arrive in my party and when I sat down, my party had mentioned to me that the owner has specifically stated to them that because they have a packed house tonight that the table time limit was two hours. Not even 10 minutes later, another worker came over to them, and told them that the table limit was 90 minutes per party. When I arrived, the owner specifically called out to our table and reiterated that because of a packed house tonight, the table limit was two hours which puzzled me because at that time there was only six people in the restaurant besides the four workers that were there. And a few minutes later another worker came over and told us the same thing again at this point I felt uncomfortable because I was wondering if they wanted us to leave or what was the purpose of telling us four times the same thing. Not only did we have a limited time, but after we begin talking at the table, the owner nicely interrupted our private table conversation to tell us that it's there custom to tell the customers the history of the restaurant, which took 5 to 7 minutes out of our already limited two hours. The food was also disappointing overall. The waitress came over and told us that they had a special menu for that day which was sweetest day and ordinarily they would be able to make substitutions for their menu items but because it was a special menu no substitutes were allowed that day. So I ordered the Nana's fried chicken which came with jasmine rice and gravy and collard greens and cornbread muffin. After about 15 minutes, the waitress came over to inform us that there were no cornbread muffins and that they were substituting biscuits instead. I thought to myself I don't even eat biscuits and who eats biscuits with collard greens. Then we said amongst ourselves, so we cannot make substitutions, but they can make substitutions and we're still responsible for paying the menu price for something that we didn't order, but still have to pay for. When the food came out, the rice and gravy was cold, not lukewarm, but cold there was no seasoning whatsoever on any of the rice and gravy. It was bland and plain. The greens had so much onion. They were big slices of onion throughout the greens you saw more onion than you did greens . It was lacking in seasoning as well. I spent most of my dining experience, trying to season the greens and the rice and gravy to a point where it even tasted somewhat acceptable. I ended up just leaving all the rice and gravy and the hard burned biscuit and put the rest in a box. The owner came around and asked how was everything, the other person in my party began to share their critique of their food, which was very honest and accurate. Very detailed and very polite. It may not have been as positive as the restaurant would have wanted but it was the truth. The discomforting thing to me was the owner appeared to be listening, but was listening with no connection, very nonchalant! The Cook was walking past, who is his wife, she was nice and polite, and she thanked the other person for their critique and feedback and then walked away. There was no rectifying, no trying to correct any of the concerns, issues or anything so when they asked me, I just said the chicken was good because I noticed It was a waste of time to share any other feedback. Soon as you put your fork down, one of the waiters was coming and picking stuff up, we were not even finished eating and they were reaching for the plate to take it away, it was so rude and impersonal. It was so disruptive to the whole dining experience, no respect for privacy. It was always some type of staff member interruption. We weren't even finished eating before they were trying to take the plate from us. I felt like everything was just so rushed and hurried. This was a very disappointing dining experience. I guess the best thing I can say is at least I tried to patronize a black owned business. I tried it, and this was my experience. I will probably never go back there. So from a $39.00 2 piece chicken, rice and gravy and collard greens meal after all of the taxes, fees, service fees gratuity and everything else he added to the bill the $39 chicken meal ended up b
