Very tasty dumplings with leeks. Jasmine tea was served in an iron pot so it stayed hot. Service is very prompt and polite. I liked the instrumental Chinese music in the background. read more

I really wanted to love this place. The service was fine. The tea was good. Ordering went smoothly but we just didn't love anything. The spicy dry chicken was very salty very spicy (not in a good way) and very dry. The appetizers we got were ok. The dumplings were just ok. Not amazing. The prices were fair. We fed four for 100.00 and had some leftovers. The noodles were probably my favorite. It looks like there are a lot of good restaurants in the area I would try a different one next time. read more

Amazing Dumplings is a Chinese restaurant that sells handmade dumplings as well as appetizers such as shumai and shrimp tempura, congee soups, noodles, chef's specials such as lo mein and general tso's, and non-alcoholic beverages. My husband and I ordered only one plate of Sunrise Chicken Dumplings here--yes, a tiny sampling of the menu. They cost $17 plus tax and tip. Please note that the dumplings that I as a real, paying customer received did NOT look like the dumplings that the Instagram influencers receive. Multiple 5-star reviews below were written by influencers who did Instagram collabs with this restaurant. (Btw, Yelp's policies do NOT permit influencers to write Yelp reviews for collabs.) Their Instagram reels and their Yelp reviews contain images of dumplings accompanied with beautiful plating with extra designs such as flowers. My dumplings had NO extra designs on the plate at all, even though I ordered one of the same flavors. (I acknowledge that some "regular people" Yelp reviewers seem to genuinely like this restaurant, depending on what they ordered.) As for the flavors of the dumplings, both my husband and I thought that the dumplings were definitely some of the worst that we have ever tasted in our lives. They tasted OK only if we doused them with sauce, and they were still NOT enjoyable to eat. My husband was very hungry from eating almost nothing all day, but between the two of us, we did not even finish our one plate of dumplings. read more

Terrible service and flavor-less food. There was only 1 occupied table yet we were not allowed to sit where we wanted

Stopped in for a to go order on my birthday. I'll say I'm glad I didn't come by for dinner as originally planned. I ordered takeout and walked around while I waited. service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant did seem a bit out of sorts and unorganized but a lady from the back came out and helped quickly. She gave me a menu to mark up and turn in, which isn't uncommon but the menu was already marked up or "used." I kept looking over small things like the disorganization here and there. I really wanted to like these dumplings! I ordered a pork, veggie and chicken option trying to taste a variety. In agreement with many other reviews on here, the dumplings were all bland. I'm 99% sure the veggie dumpling was frozen veggies (carrot cubes, peas, corn, etc) and what tasted like dehydrated mushrooms (cubed and chewy). It was kind of lifeless. The chicken had the same veggies mixed in and zero flavor. The pork dumpling only had flavor because it was spicy. Otherwise all the dumplings were mostly doughy. Maybe I ordered the wrong menu items to highlight anything great but overall, I'd say there are better options for dimsums and dumplings around the city. read more

Cozy Chinese restaurant with tons of charm. We felt so welcomed by the owner who explained the menu to us with so much detail. I ordered the general tso's and pork lotus dumplings. We thoroughly enjoyed our them but felt like they really needed the dipping sauce to feel complete. We definitely will be back!! read more

This place adds a fun and colorful twist to traditional dumplings. We came at 3 PM as a snack, so off-hours it was mostly empty besides one other table. The owner was incredibly sweet and generous. She offered us complimentary lemon ginger iced tea, which was so refreshing! We ordered the hot oil noodles and tropical prawn dumplings. The noodle dish was delicious, but REALLY spicy. Portions were large and very satisfying. I'm always a fan of any shrimp dumplings and the presentation of the dish was a true art form! The cucumbers carved into bamboo shapes were such a fun and fresh touch. Loved the creativity and attention to detail in both the flavors and plating. read more

The server was quick on getting us a table/drinks. They used their space well considering the size. We ordered: Three fresh dumpling - price was okay for the portion size. On the doughier side. There was a odd wait time of ~ 40 mins (understandable because they did have a big party) If you had nothing else to eat and was craving dumplings - I'd go here read more

One of our favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh! Always our first stop when we come back in town, and the owner is the sweetest. Our go-to's are the hot oil vegetable noodles, the dry spicy chicken, and the mapo tofu dumplings. The noodles are a huge portion (my husband always says the best meal in pgh under $15) and so fresh - they hand pull them in the back, and the dumplings are dyed naturally to be vibrant colors. Such a little gem in Squirrel Hill. read more

Five of us went here for dinner yesterday night and were able to get a table immediately. The staff was so sweet, lovely, and personable! We tried essentially half the menu and while I enjoyed everything, especially the thick chewy noodles and the spicy dry chicken, the star of the show for me was the dumplings. The dumplings here are truly pieces of art that come in an array of colors and with beautiful presentation. They are also available in unique flavors - I was a big fan of the crawfish and pork dumplings and and my friend loved the pine branch and century egg ones! read more

He Said: Our daughter had been here before and insisted we come during our visit this time. We each ordered a plate of dumplings and shared the hot oil noodles. I ordered the hot oil dumplings. It was great all around. Prices are good, service is great, flavor is, in fact, amazing. We usually cook with Shanghai style wrappers, but as soon as we left we talked about trying some northern style. We've been inspired! Side note: this place would be epic at about 11pm or so after a fun night. She Said: Although I tried all the dishes at the table, I zeroed in on the pork and leek dumplings as "mine" when I ordered, and they were terrific. My second favorites were the ones He ordered--but I would have gobbled up any of the options. The egg rolls weren't anything to write home about, but it's not called "Amazing Egg Rolls"; thus, it's a well-named place! Potty Points: 4/5 - clean and available! read more

Nice assortment of different kinds of dumplings and the plating is excellent for their special stuff anyhow. Tried this place out with my wife recently. We had a very nice little dinner! We ate on the early side on a Friday and the place was pretty quiet (no need for a reservation). Service was extremely friendly; someone came to check on us regularly and would even throw in little recommendations for the right amount of dipping sauce, ask how we liked the spice level, etc. You can tell the people who work here care a lot. The pork leek dumplings were fantastic! Light and juicy morsels of pure deliciousness. We will definitely come back again to try other types of dumplings. The hot oil wide noodles with beef were good too. Definitely on the heavier side and left plenty of leftovers, so a good complement to the dumplings. Much more noodle than beef. The scallion pancake was very fried, so tasty and crispy, but also very thin and without much scallion. read more

Really cute looking place inside, we felt really hopeful. The pork and leek dumplings were a bit bland and the dumpling skin was a bit think, and the dumplings sauce could have used some vinegar. About $15 for 10 dumplings. The marinated beef noodle bowl was just okay as well. The beef was good quality, but again fairly bland dish for the price. My partner and I were the only ones in the restaurant and we had to keep walking up to the counter to ask the staff to take our order, for water, etc. So unfortunately, a very poor service experience. I really wanted to like this place! :( read more

Why didn't I go here earlier?!?! My fellow Yelp Eliteriend was going so I tagged along with her and her crew. I was able to find parking in the paid lot across the street. The dumplings are amazing and beautiful. The Van Gogh was a personal favorite as it has a slight broth to it from the steaming process. The dumplings in broth are perfect for a fall day. We chatted with the owner, who is such a lovely and sweet person. We learned the coloring is natural which eased a concern I had. Definitely go, eat, and maybe grab a wine next door beforehand to incorporate with your dinner! read more

Such a cute place. We were seated immediately. We wanted to try a little of everything. The waitress even gave us a complimentary lemon ginger tea. The dumplings had their own unique flavors which is so welcome because some dumplings all taste very similar. The fish dish was to die for. Crispy, salty and perfectly sauced with a side of rice. My least favorite was probably the beef noodles but that was due to the sauce it's self. It was not bad, but a little thick and a lot of pepper flakes. The noodles were so good and made in-house. Same with the dumplings. I would recommend trying a verity of dumplings because there was not a disappointing bite! read more

Two women in the whole restaurant jumping back and forth between making fresh dumplings and being attentive to our table. You can literally see them make the dumplings behind the counter and they were so tasty. The wrappers were the best part, not chewy at all and a perfect width. Our server brought us lemon tea (unasked for and free) that was really refreshing and just a tell of good service. Restaurant was empty (albeit it was a Tuesday at 2pm) and I'd really like to see more people in here!!! read more

Really fantastic dumplings. You can tell that the owners have a passion for creating artful dumplings with both traditional fillings and more modern takes on what you can use to fill a Chinese dumpling. The interior space is comfortable, with good spacing between tables. The staff were very kind and helpful. The variety, color, and flavor of the various dumplings were very impressive, especially when paired with the accompanying dipping sauce. The noodle dishes were well presented, but a notch below the dumplings in terms of flavor. That might just be a result of ordering the vegetarian noodle dishes rather than something with meat. It's also true that noodle dishes don't always work very well as take-out, and that's just an expected outcome. If I have any complaints it would be the limited number of vegetable centric sides. It would be nice to pair my dumplings with a vegetable centric stir fry or a big green salad. We made do with a homemade salad to pair with our takeout, but we would have preferred to pair some vegetable dishes with our dumplings and noodles. Other than that, this is a great destination with an excellent takeout game. read more

Amazing Dumplings is right! Ordered delivery via DD and the food was great! Ordered the hot chili oil dumplings and the hot chili oil noodles with chicken added. If you like/love spice you'll enjoy these dishes. Food was hot upon arrival and the ingredients were incredibly fresh. Will definitely visit or order more dishes to try more things on the menu. To note, the service was great - although I ordered via a delivery app. I asked for different dumplings in place of the ones that come with the hot chili oil dish. Someone from the restaurant called me to advise the chef would not allow the replacement. I appreciated this in lieu of just receiving what I didn't ask for. Loved that they called to confirm prior to preparing the food. The dumplings were so good and I understand why they do not allow the replacements- they were perfect as is. read more

We decided to visit Amazing Dumplings tonight at the recommendation of a friend! They have a great location right on Forbes Ave in squirrel Hill! It was not super busy at 5pm on a Friday night, though it did seem like they were getting a good number of takeout orders. We ordered the scallion pancake, combo fried rice, kung pao chicken dumplings, and the pork and pickled cabbage dumplings. I have to say - some of the best fried rice I've ever had. EVER. And I like to consider myself a purveyor of fried rice hah. Everything else was great! Both dumplings I thought were super creative and delicious! I enjoyed the spiciness of the kung pao ones. I love how their dumplings have color in the dough! So fun. The service was super quick and friendly! The owner came by and told us about some new specials they would have for Chinese New Year in February! They have beautiful and unique dumpling wrappers so I anticipate something beautiful! We can't wait to come back and support this small business. read more

food was okay, lady got mad at me for tipping 25 percent. Reminds me of a grandmas old kitchen.

The name says it all - AMAZING! This quaint little restaurant is truly one of a kind. There are so many others in that area that I want to try but I can never get beyond Amazing Dumplings...it's that good! We also have many Asian style restaurants near us but I'll drive the 35 miles for this treat every time. We've sampled about half of the menu items and have never been disappointed. If you love spicy food, they have many dishes to accommodate your taste but will cut back on the spice if you want it prepared a little milder. There are so many unique dishes and flavors that I can't name them all. In addition, they have some items you'll find at most Chinese restaurants such as fried rice, Lo Mein, vegetable roll, and General Tso's but I find those dishes served here are of a much higher quality and better taste than I've had elsewhere. There's no doubt they use fresh ingredients. Among my favorites are the hot oil dishes, especially the Hot Oil Beef with Homemade Wide Noodles and Spicy Hot Oil Sesame Dumplings. Also at the top of my list are the Ma Po Tofu Dumplings, the incredible Smoked Pork Pancake, Marinated Beef Noodles, any of the Leek dumplings, and any of the vegetable dumplings. And the dumpling dipping sauce is to die for! Almost anything you order will be spectacular. Every time we come, I see some locals dining here. The look on their faces show that they know they have a little piece of heaven right in their neighborhood! read more

It's a good place with authentic food and genuinely nice ownership. I've been here three times and I've had almost every dumpling they offer. You will not be disappointed. The dumplings are like works of art. Sometimes it's not very packed, other times every table is full. They've been in the restaurant business for a long time! I like the Red Shiso soda. I also love the Wide Noodles with Egg and Tomato, it is so fun to share with a friend. The dumplings are amazing and the ladies who run the place are great people. One note is that the Lamb Mince Soup is not as beautiful or as good as the picture. It's a pretty good value and definitely filling. Good for special occasions. They use Szechuan peppercorns, so good. You will get MSG here probably, just so you know. read more

I was craving noodles and their hot oil biang biang noodles caught my eye. Food was unreal best dumplings and sauces I've ever had. I cannot wait to go back and to get more.

The food was amazing! So many options and all delicious and unique. We loved the general tso and rainbow prawn dumplings. The service was great and very attentive. However, we could hear a cat crying and a dog barking from the back throughout our entire meal and could see a dog bed behind the prep counter, which was disconcerting. This is a very unassuming place. I know I've passed by it a dozen times but never actually ate there. Glad I did today! We went for lunch so it wasn't that busy but customers definitely came in and out steadily. The staff who work there were so sweet, too! To start, we were given homemade ginger iced tea which was delicious and for the table we ordered the sesame cold noodles which was in their special menu, pork and fennel dumplings, hot and sour dumpling soup, hot oil noodles and scallion pancake. Lots of food but we love to try a little bit of everything on a menu at a place we've never been. The scallion pancake was ok. It was just very thin and I'm not used to that. Not that much flavor. The sesame cold noodles were definitely not like any other sesame cold noodle I've had. Different kind of noodle and not as smooth of a sauce but still yummy. The dumplings were very good, they melted in your mouth and burst with flavor. The hot oil noodles were a flavor profile I've never had before and I LOVE trying things I've never tasted before. It was also very garlicky and definitely spicy. Wide noodles had the perfect texture. And my favorite of all was the hot and sour dumpling soup. I am obsessed with this soup! It was sour and salty, mustard green cooked with a crunch and the dumplings added a perfect protein. I want this soup all the time now! Would definitely come back for the soup and to try some other dishes! read more

Really enjoyed this new-to-me spot in Squirrel Hill! Visited for a casual Friday night dinner with friends and we ordered from a check-off menu, deciding between various dumplings and noodles and appetizers. My husband and I split the biangbiang Beef noodles, the pork and lotus root dumplings, and the pork and pickled cabbage dumplings. We also tried the scallion pancake, since we love scallion pancakes. The biangbiang noodles were outstanding - chewy, spicy, and so flavorful. It's definitely a big bowl, so it may be good to split it between two! The dumplings were lovely, authentic, and handmade, with no frills or special presentation, just good flavor. We preferred the lotus root over the pickled cabbage between the two pork offerings we chose, but both were delicious! The former was dyed with a grey-blue dye that was apparently made from natural food coloring, which is super neat and unique to this restaurant. The scallion pancake was very crispy and wasn't our favorite that we've ever had, but it was still quite good. A woman who we presume to be either the owner or chef came and visited our table to ask how our meal was, which was a nice touch! All in all, I want to return to try more noodles and dumplings ASAP. Highly recommend for a cozy meal! read more
