Cary (the owner) came in with the first of several estimates. Of the contractors I contacted, he best understood what I wanted. My house had rotting window frames, uneven bad-looking shake shingle siding that was long past the day I should have done something about it. A house down the street had the look I wanted, and Cary quoted me the price. I also asked about replacing my front and side doors. The siding color I wanted was a special order, so I had to wait a couple weeks for it to be made. It was well worth the wait. Lifetime supplied a brand called "Perfection" and it is truly perfect siding. The siding sections lock together in a way that I don't think even a hurricane would loosen them. All the rotted wood was replaced with Azek trim. The result is my 70-year-old run-down house now looks like a new build. The doors that leaked cold air during the winter are gone. I am very satisfied.

They came out and gave me an estimate where a competitor wanted to come out and do the work but wouldn't give me a ball park number first. Others didn't respond. The weather caused the appointment to be pushed multiple times (snow and high speed winds which is what caused the damage in the first place), but the work is done and the gutter appears very secure now. Pricing seemed reasonable for the time and materials used. They were friendly and open to various payment options. The estimate came slightly under the quote, (rounding distance so very slight) which is always nice. Notes: I know it's hard being a contractor and taking calls while working, but more prompt notifications about appointments being moved would be nice. Communication wasn't timely but I had the sense that there wasn't a home office fielding work, so I'm certainly more understanding. Hard to be timely when you're dangling from roofs trying to get work down before the next storm wave. They were certainly better than some other contractors I recently worked with.

He looked it over and said it would be around$30,000 total with EVERYTHING INCLUDED!! , that's about the going price! He came to our house we talked, we dropped our dream decided to just replace everything where it is. The only real change was removing the boxed in jetted tub and installing a free standing tub. The plumbing would only need treaking. The shower was staying where it was! He suggested opening up our door to make it ADA compliant, putting up,a barn door on the bedroom side. I asked how much that would cost he said don't worry I'll give allowances for all of it , He suggested making the shower,bigger by bumping it into our spare bedroom,. And there is more but , time. As he left he asked what we were thinking , I said under $30, 000 like you said, he called and said $40,000 !! I again asked if we could do demo, get our own faucets, vanity, tiles to keep cost down. I received an estimate from another company last year which was about $5-6,000 higher than what I was seeing online for this area. So this year, I called AVA. Adam came over, looked at everything and gave me an estimate that was right on the money. He explained everything - how much gutter I would need, how many downspouts, special color options, installation - everything. I received the estimate the next day and could not believe what a good price they gave me. The job was completed the following week The house looks beautiful - and I now have new gutters that exactly match the house trim, large enough to handle the weather the house gets `AND GUTTER GUARDS!!!! The installers were so professional - meticulously neat and efficient. We even had a neighbor from down the road stop and ask the installers and how to get an estimate for his own house.
