I liked the way they did the assessment and estimate. So when I saw something I thought of them first. They came over and gave an honest assessment that we did not need work done. Great! I asked if they knew someone who could fix an outside porch deck (about 10 by 12 and 100 years old well made with pillars supporting the roof etc). Surprise surprise but they could. While they don't advertise it, they do this type of work too. So he gave us an estimate a few days later. Seemed reasonable to us for the work. Turned out it was because once they tore the deck up it was clear more work was needed. They did it without any issue, and no cost increase. Fab. The two Employes who did the work were polite and quiet. No loud radios blaring. No shouting. No nonsense. Even our neighbors were happy. With all the rain the work took longer than expected, but only because of rain days, not because the actual work took more time. So the estimate of time was right on. If you need roof work, or even deck work, I'd call Naples and see what they say.

Naples Roofing was recommended to us by another roofer who does not work on that type of structure. So we called them & their estimate was close to what a different company quoted last year. Naples understood what needed to be done and, unlike another company we spoke to, did not try to tell us the garage needed to be torn down and rebuilt for twice the money. After we signed the contract & paid the first 1/3 of the cost we had to wait about two weeks for them to do the work. It would have been a longer wait, but they had a cancellation. So three men came by at 9:00 a.m., tore off the old roof etc., and put up twice as many wooden rafters as the contract had called for! They put a new plywood roof, covered it with a waterproof membrane, put up new fascia & some type of protective plastic around the edge, & cleaned out a gutter at the edge of the roof on the main house that I couldn't get to, which had weeds growing in it. They hauled all their trash away, they were pleasant & polite. Husband & I are delighted! The only criticism I have is that they didn't keep in touch with us as far as scheduling the estimate, or scheduling the work. Husband & I are retired & are usually at home & didn't know in advance what day they would be there. Their work is obviously high-quality & it is guaranteed for five years. The roof started leaking at the vent pipe location. They first sent a guy who, instead of taking responsibility, completely denied there was any problem with the roof and said the vent pipe itself was the problem as it was rusted. We spent a $100 on getting the vent pipe checked out by an HVAC technician, who told us that the pipe was fine - no issues. So, I had to climb on the roof with a garden hose and run water on the roof to show that it was because of bad roof installation - I sent JP the video of the problem (the flashing of the vent pipe was not properly meshed with the shingles), and only then they agreed to fix it. The second problem is with the gutters, which are still not fixed. There is a gap between the new gutters and the roof, which is letting water to come through the gap. I have been trying to get hold of the person - they have promised to come 4 times over the last month but still have not fixed the problem. I have stayed home from work a couple of times just for it, and they did not even inform me that they were not going to make it that day. All in all, a very bad post-install service - a complete lack of professionalism!

I received multiple quotes to replace our roof and gutters on our house. Our appointment was…read morescheduled and Adam came out a few days after my request for the consultation. Out of all the companies that did show up ( 4 out of 5), Adam was the only estimator who actually went up on our roof and walked it to see how everything looked. Because of this, Adam's timeliness on coming out as well as getting a professional and itemized quote submitted to us and the reasonable cost, we chose to have Ava install our project. The contract was signed and job was scheduled within a week! The crew protected our house and did a great job stripping and installing new plywood, removed an old electrical service pipe that was no longer needed and reshingled our house in one day. They cleaned up the yard and left everything in great condition, which with our yard being wet and muddy, was a big hurdle! The gutter installers came a few days later and had our new gutters up in a few hours. They had their work cut out for them because it rained a great deal the days before so they were fighting mud as well. My house looks amazing with all of the improvements that Ava performed for us! I would recommend them to anyone who needs work done!

Ava had to come back to fix the issues we (as homeowners) uncovered, like: -used finishing nails instead of roofing nails in high wind areas -not tarring over exposed nails -had rippling of shingles in the back of the house -ridge vent didn't get added to the full roof -broke a beam and originally used a 2x4 on one side, didn't even notify me that this happened. -didn't cut soffits where they were supposed to -put feet through our ceiling in 2 areas and I discovered it on my own They fixed all these things properly and quickly, but only after I called to explain the same sub contractors they sent back originally, didn't do a good job fixing some of them. So then I asked for their actual internal installers to come out and fix. When they did that (sent Billy), the craftsmanship was much better. Now, 4 months after installation, my brand new bathroom vents are blowing air back in and not as strong anymore. We discover it's because of the way they installed the the roof vents. The grates are pushing up against the opening so they can't open fully. I'm beyond frustrated that poor installation caused all these issues to appear! Although Ava has come out each time, if I was an uneducated home owner, I would not necessarily be able to find these issues and push to get them fixed. If you choose to use them, make sure it's not a subcontractor doing the work and that they are using their internal team.

When the insurance adjuster came to review the claim, Collingwood was there to make sure the claim covered the repairs. When they opened the roof, rafter damage was found. Again Collingwood worked with the insurance company for us. There was also some siding that needed replacing. Larry gave us some suggestions to use existing siding to replace the damaged area and add an accent along the bottom with Versetta Stone. The additional cost was well worth the investment to the curb appeal of our home. Many of our neighbors commented on how nice our house looked.

I met with Collingwood Construction, explained my problem, and asked if they would be willing to come to my home to give me an estimate. I was unsure of the scope of work and was quite upfront about that. I didn't know if I needed a complete lower roof or just a repair. They enthusiastically assured me that no job was too small and would be happy to give me an estimate. After the home show someone called me to set up the appointment. Good start in my book. They then followed up with a letter confirming my appointment, provided information regarding the services they offered, and even provided references. Great. This is where things got a little funky... A few days prior to the appointment I received a call from a woman confirming the appointment and then asked if my husband would be present. Um, what? Yes, she asked if my husband would be present. Had the shoe been on the other foot and a man set up the appointment would they ask if his wife would be present? I doubt it. I informed the woman that my husband would be out of town, I owned the home, and the title and mortgage was only in my name. Why would I need my husband present? She backpedaled a little and said it was helpful to have everyone on the same page. I assured her he trusted me completely to make the decisions and as a real estate broker I know more about homes, structures, and repairs than he did. She said that was fine and that we were all set for our upcoming appointment. The day of the appointment, about an hour and a half prior, I received a call asking if I was going to be home for the estimate. I said "yes". I actually had to rearrange my schedule and turn away an appointment to make sure I had enough time dedicated for the estimate. Then the man on the phone asked me to describe the roof problem again. I, again, relayed the issues we had been having. He mentioned he remembered me from the home show and even remembered I was a real estate broker. He then said it did not sound like a very big job, they were really busy, East Aurora was far away from Getzville (where they are located) and that he was not going to show up for the estimate. He then said goodbye and hung up. I was shocked. I can't imagine treating any potential client like this. What's more is if you didn't want the work you could have cancelled any time within the two weeks prior when we scheduled. I have to wonder if the fact my husband was not present weighed into his decision to not show up. Being in real estate I refer a lot of work to contractors, roofers, etc. I've not had the best feedback from my clients with regards to roofers recently which is why I was at the home show hoping to connect with a couple new ones I could refer. I would NEVER recommend this company for any work, EVER. They were dismissive to me as a woman and completely disrespectful of my time. Avoid this company.

Second, last year we'd been experiencing a critter home invasion - well, not really, but we had raccoons living in our soffits (I think that is what they're called). There were a couple holes made and John and another guy came by within a day or so and got them sealed up again (no raccoons were harmed!) at NO CHARGE. This is not the first time they've done "small" favors just gratis. I mean. Anyway, when the time comes we will absolutely have Fiddler roofing the house.
