I am with "no stars" and a lot of the other reviewers. My friend paid in full for a part that needed to be ordered back in January, 2021, and she still does not have the part. She would call and get the answer the others got, "the parts on order", "it should ship next week", blah, blah, blah. She finally asked for a refund and they said they would send it out, or they would send it out tomorrow, or even "it's in the mail." My friend needs her money back to live on. I could just copy and paste what these other reviews are saying. Customer service is ZERO and they are liars. They are now avoiding my friends calls! What a sorry company to carry the Amarillo name. DO NOT HIRE! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Paid $600 to get our refrigerator fixed and it broke only after 3 months. Called and asked if he could replace the part and said the part was not available. We waited over a year and part still supposedly hadn't come in. So then he offered to take the refrigerator again to his shop and kept it over 7 months and supposedly it's fixed. Still sitting in the garage unused wondering if it's even fixed. We had to buy a new one. read more

My dad's refrigerator went out. I called Amarillo Area Appliance. Eldon Newton came out and diagnosed the problem. He said that the refrigerator needed the heater replaced to prevent it from freezing up. He would order the part and come back the following week. My dad paid up front for the part. This was in July. Now in September, the part has not been replaced. The refrigerator went out again. My dad had to buy a new refrigerator and Eldon Newton and his wife ducked phone calls for 3 months. Stay away from this crook. He thinks it's OK to steal from a disabled veteran. read more

ZERO STARS. Communication is the key to resolving so many concerns, and this company is absolutely the worst I have ever dealt with. The initial service call in JULY resulted in me prepaying for an expensive part which had to be ordered, and then having to constantly call and call to check on the status of the part. Every time I would get through to someone, he would say, "I'll check when I get back to the shop" and then days would go by with NO call back. After pestering them to get the initial part installed weeks later, the freezer failed again within a month. A "different" part needed to be ordered and here we are again more weeks later, chasing these people down for a status and getting nothing from them. They said they'd come yesterday morning (11/10/2020) and were no-call/no- show. Look, if your business is booming so much that you don't need my business, just say, "I'm sorry, we are overbooked and can't take new clients at this time." read more

I have given multiple chances and literal years of service between me and my mom, and we are finally done with this company. We purchased appliances with fantastic warranties through them. That went smoothly, and was a pretty penny. But anytime there's been a need for a fix, nothing gets done. He expects money upfront, and then never gets parts in, and says refund checks are in the mail which never show. I waited almost 2 YEARS for a stupid clip replacement and had to call and check on it over and over, no one ever updates on their own, and finally said I wanted a refund, was told check was in the mail. That was 3 months or so ago, no check and we paid for the service visit AND the part. Now my heating element is out, called and left message last week, never heard back. Called again and was told to text my information so he could call on warranty. Never heard back. Called again and left message, still NOTHING! I finally reached out to the company of the appliances I purchased just to find out he's not registered with their company as a service provider or salesman, but they gave me a list of companies in the area that are! I have heard so many people's stories like this, too, so now that i know i can get service elsewhere, I'm finally comfortable leaving my honest review. AVOID! read more

I called and told this company that I had a tear in the rubber on my front load washer. They would not give me a quote on the repair until they came out. The price of visiting my house was $70 just to tell me I had a tear in the rubber on my washer. The price to repair is over $400! They could have given me a quote over the phone. Poor customer service. So disappointed. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!!! DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!This is a locally owned business that definitely does not care about it's customers. I called them out to repair my refrigerator on 10/23/17. The man came and gave me a quote, he told me I needed a adaptive controller. The tech (husband) came and "repaired" my refrigerator but it still did not work. I called them back and he came back out to tell me that the part was defective and he would need to order the part again. When the tech came to repair my refrigerator not only did the part not work but now my temperature control panel does not work either. The tech tells me that the control panel is part of the adaptive controller so when he replaces that the temp control panel will also work. We are now at the date of 11/13/17 and my refrigerator is still not repaired. I called the office (wife's cellphone) on 11/16/17 to follow up on when the part might come in and she was so rude that she told me "that it was just a conflict of personalities" and I need to listen. She informed me that she does not know when the part will be in she would need the tech (husband) to contact me. Well I called the tech (husband) to ask if he had any information about the part and he told me that he had no idea when the part would come in. I asked if he thought it would be in before Thanksgiving and he simply said I don't know. When I mentioned how long I have been waiting he immediately got angry and told me that he will just refund my money. (Keep in mind he has broken the temp control while repairing the adaptive control). I called back the next day on 11/17/17 to ask them not to cxl my appt and not to refund my money but on 11/21/17, I received a refund. So I had to call Sears and paid another service call fee to come out to find out that the part was never replaced in the first place and yes, I would also need to pay to repair the temp control as they are 2 separate parts. So now I have to pay to repair the adaptive control and the temp control. When I call the office I don't get a call back. I really think the tech (husband) knew that he had done more damage, didn't want to pay the cost to repair the temp control and that is why he refunded my money so quickly.
