The food is sold in a liquor mart. There is parking underneath on the left (I think). I did not have the meat in this, but my husband said the meatball was grisly like all the other places. The other meat in it is really good and tender. 3 different types of meat in it. There was lemon, Thai basil, and fresh mung beans on the side with green onions and onions inside the broth. The taste was very good. Light broth and I would have given 5 stars but we had a little friend in the soup-probably from the Thai basil. The drink was excellent. Nice and flavourful. Exactly what I expect. Probably my favourite pho place in town. Feels safe because there is a guard, cameras, and air conditioning. The server was very nice. Gave me a restroom key when I asked. Gives extra utensils and allowed us to add extra noodles to the order. read more

Literally a hole-in-the-wall Mom & Pop convenience store with pretty good made-to-order Vietnamese food. Their lemongrass chicken is tasty and their bò lúc lắc looks delicious. The sister at the counter is super friendly, nice, and accommodating. I wonder what their pho and other dishes taste like. read more

Who would have thought a liquor store would have decent Vietnamese food at reasonable prices? I was here for 30 minutes and only saw people getting food. Maybe they should change the name of their shop. This place is in the Pacific Grand condo. Entry is through the lobby or through a back door. Menu on the lobby door is out of date. Prices are $2-$3 higher now. Don't let that deter you. The prices are reasonable and the food is tasty. They will even let you order stuff not on the menu. I ordered the spicy lemongrass chicken but on rice noodle (bun) instead of rice. It came with a small basic salad. For $13 I thought it was a fair price. Not huge, but filling enough. They have 4 tables in the store for dine in which is convenient. And hey, if you need a liter of Vodka, or a 40 to go, they have that also. Brown bags optional. read more

I was introduced to this awesome convenience/liquor store by my cousin. When she told me they have Vietnamese food and good musubis, I was sold. Yes, they serve hot, delicious local and Vietnamese meals inside a liquor store. I got the THAI TEA and BEEF & EGGROLL with VERMICILLI. When I ordered they were quick and friendly. The wait for my food, was not that long. You can either order to go or to dine in. There are tables and chairs available to eat inside. The THAI TEA was decent, it sort of tastes like cotton candy for me, but it wasn't overly sweet. It only comes in one size, served iced in a styrofoam cup which gives a good grip. The BEEF & EGGROLL with VERMICILLI was delicious and surprisingly flavorful coming from a liquor store. Made to order and the beef was cooked well topped with garlic chips and onions. The Eggrolls were crunchy, slightly over cooked, but it was delicious, especially dipped in the sauce. Which is like a sweet fish sauce with some red chilis. It does have a kick, a little on the spicy side, but not too spicy. Definitely, check this local ma and pop convenience/liquor store. read more

This is the best convenience store in my opinion. They have alot of various items, foods, drinks, and snacks. They also have a menu which everything they make themselves and it all taste great. I personally love their pho, banh mi, garlic shrimp and vermicelli. You can also choose to dine in (only 2- 3 tables available) for a quick eat if you dont prefer doing take out. They also make normal sandwiches, musubis, fried chicken (during lunch), and more. Their fruits are very fresh as well! I love this place and I love the hot foods that they serve. Yes, to echo what all the reviews have said, they serve a decently wide variety of foods here ranging from ethnic to local -- especially for a hike-in-the-wall Ma and Pa store! The uncles and aunties here are always really friendly and I love the summer rolls here - I think it's one of the cheaper options for summer rolls on island! They have lots of different kinds of instant ramen and chips for sale there as well. read more

Not sure if they've undergone an ownership or management change (or not!), but whatever the case, I'm once again a fan of this establishment!! Located in the lobby of a residential condo building, this place is truly a ~convenience~ store in every possible way! It more or less has everything you might need, plus and added bonus of delicious food they make to order! If I lived in that building, I'd be going to Amana Liquor at least once a week, if not more!! Great little unassuming mom and pop shop that sells all your typical convenience mart goods, as well as offers yummy Vietnamese takeout!! Small convenient store that also sells random dishes such pho, spaghetti, etc. This place truly represents the word convenient as I have bought items such as paper towel rolls, milk, ice cream, lighter fluid and many others. The prices are a bit on the higher end but I'll acknowledge that it's the price to pay for convenient items. There are a couple of tables where you can eat and watch some tv. Temperature is similar to that of an office building so if you're walking in the hot sun, hungry, and the mall is still a far walk? This may be the place to go. The owners/cashiers are not overly friendly but definitely not rude either. Knowing they close at 10 pm is also a good thing in the event you have the munchies and walking/live in the area. My latest journey there involved buying strawberry soda. I know I'll be back for more! read more

I discovered this little gem while taking a short cut, walking from the office to my place. At the time I was just looking for a bottle of green tea and the name "Amana Liquor" gave me the sense I might find tea in their beverage cooler. I hadn't really noticed the storefront before although I'd walked this route often enough - it's somewhat hidden, inset a parking lot's width from Makaloa Street. Tea turned out to be available - but I had inadvertently stumbled into much more. Know up front there is a small selection of liquor but frankly less than the name implies. A few choices of basic alcohol items for that last minute emergency. Not a big deal, just a side note. What's there that wasn't obvious is a rather comprehensive menu of Vietnamese and local food! I'm a huge fan of hole-in-the-wall restaurants and this is maximum hole-in-the-wall, embedded inside a convenience store with three appropriately spaced, two-person tables giving me the option to dine in. Love it! Since discovering Amana Liquor I walk past often and have sampled many dishes: beef pho, spicy lemongrass chicken, Vietnamese Fried rice, shrimp and tofu summer rolls, Italian red sauce spaghetti. Vietnamese food was as solid as anywhere else and at a better price as well. The spaghetti is quite tasty, a nice treat. I'm a regular now, enjoying the uncrowded, laid back and friendly space that I found so unexpectedly. Amana Liquor made my day when I discovered it and I'm betting you'll feel the same way. I recently went to the 24 Fitness on Kapiolani and was looking for a drink to guzzle after my workout. I had worked in the area for about 9 years before recently moving employers so I am quite familar with the area up until April of this year. I headed to CK's Delights & Grocery but was to surpised to see that this place was no more. Instead in their old location, a new store popped up in their place --Amana Liquor. They are located in the same building as Shillawon, the entrance across from the entrance of Shillawon. If you're familiar with CK's, they also had a snack bar type restaurant that served some local foods and Indian food. The Indian food here was actually pretty good so I was a bit disappointed when I saw that there was new ownership and there was no longer any type of local or Indian food, rather it was now Vietnamese food. I was a bit hungry so I decided to chance the Pho. I wasn't expecting much I figured it would be in the same level as something like Bale. They have a little area next to the grocery shelves where you can actually sit down and watch TV. They normally have ESPN running so it was perfect for me. I waited about 10-15 minutes, my guess was the made things on order which was no problem for me. I have to tell you I was quite surpised when they brought out my beef Pho. It was actually pretty darn good. Better than what I was expecting. It looksl ike they use some beef brisquet to make some of the broth. The broth was pretty good, it even had a savoy taste to it. I'd actually go back and order more then next time I head to the gym. If you havea chance, check it out. Not only does it have the essentials - toiletries, snacks, emergency items, and basic cooking ingredients - they have a kitchen and serve up delicious food! Their papaya salad is crunchy, refreshing and very reasonably priced. It came in a large container and was topped with shrimp, all for $8. Love this place! Best oxtail and pho! The couple that runs it is so wonderful. Much love! The tuna sandwich is also really good.

They have my holy grail spam musubi: perfect rice-to-spam ratio, great teriyaki sauce that's not too cloying, good price. They're either sold out or there's only one left when I go. Good for my body and wallet, bad for my soul! Their spring rolls ($1 each) are also good, and come with sweet chili sauce. Today, they snuck in a bit of taro in the spring rolls, so that was a nice surprise. There's fried chicken that I'm wanting to try, too $1.20/piece). Their plate lunches are very good, too. I've had the garlic chicken (Vietnamese style, not fried) and the pork chop, and they were both really, really good. Comes with rice, tossed salad and a scoop of mac salad. Can't wait to try other choices, and they said hey change them regularly so no set menu. Found this place since I live and work around the area. Love the shaky beef and the selection of other Vietnamese food. They have ice cream too and little tables/chairs for you to wait or simply eat your food and relax. The employees are also very sweet and nice. read more

Visited Hawaii last week and stop by this place to try out some Ahi Tuna. It was delicious. I will stop by here again when I am in Hawaii.
