We loved our trip with Amador lines. The bus was new and kept clean the whole time. We really appreciate Will cleaning the windows on days we visited the National Parks so people could take clear pictures. Having water always available helped everyone stay hydrated at high elevation. Finally, Will was a gem. Not only was he a skilled and calm driver, but he was very personable. Guests loved talking with him at meals and during down time. Based on this experience, I definitely hope to work with Amador and Will again in the future! read more

Choose another option! You only graduate from high school once in a lifetime. It is also unbelievably expensive to fund your kids through school but even more so their senior year. My daughter's senior grad trip was Friday the 7th and they were to leave AACT at 1pm and arrive in Universal Studios Hollywood at 9pm and arrive home Saturday the 8th at 1pm leaving City Walk at 4am. This was a 24 hour trip that cost us each individually, nearly $400 for tickets, food and transportation. We paid for only the grad night experience in Universal which, had they arrived on time, would have been a total of five hours. My daughter was on the unfortunate bus that kept overheating on what was supposed to be a 7 1/2 hour drive. That means that they were without air conditioning on a bus full of sweaty, tired teenagers who quite literally came directlt from finishing their finals to take this trip. Maintenance on your vehicles is important. How on earth does a chartered bus overheat that much? To say my own daughter was miserable, is an understatement. Further, they were spread across multiple busses and the person with their tickets was on the bus that apparently was too cool for an accurate GPS system. There is no excuse for not utilizing WAZE while driving in California but to take the wrong turns before even leaving Nevada? How does that even happen in the age of technology? Several students who are already a half hour late for a five hour experience, were left waiting outside the park that they paid for another full hour until their entire class arrived. If nothing else, stay together when driving! By the time they got inside the park, most of the rides that were supposed to be open for them were closed. They got 3.5 hours of a 5 hour ticket which we paid for. This wasn't an act of God but incompetency in maintenence, driving and then further, a policy which required 8 hours between the return trip and delayed arrival, that our kids wait inside a closed movie theater for five hours (instead of the original two) without their water bottles, medications, phone chargers, pillows, blankets or anything that would make them remotely comfortable or be able to communicate with parents who had almost no idea what was going on. This also meant that on the final week of graduations, plannedpartied, dinners etc that my exhausted, sweaty teenager arrived home at 5pm with only a half hour to get ready for her best friend's graduation dinner, which she was almost too tired to stay awake through. It is my understanding that the organizers are seeking restitution which in turn provides us, the paying customers, restitution as well. When asked if she had fun, my daughter's response was an emphatic no. This was not the final experience she was supposed to have with her high school and her classmates. Amador Lines is a large part of ruining this for her, a moment she will never have again. If you are looking for transportation, I highly recommend you look elsewhere. A charter bus should not have the same or actually worse capabilities, then a greyhound. In fact, that might have even been better. Amador, fix your busses and get GPS. read more

You could start by not dumping off a group of elderly and disabled people 1/4 mile from their destination. An Amador bus was hired to transport a group from a Sparks retirement community to Sand Harbor. The driver refused to let passengers off at the beach near the stage. Instead, elderly passengers, including those using walkers and oxygen were forced to walk on an unlit trail from the boat launch. The driver claimed that the bus would be scratched by the non-existent trees in the main parking lot. Passengers were informed about the evening nature walk only after they arrived at Sand Harbor. Luckily, no one fell while making their way back to the bus on a very dark path. read more

Very disappointed and displeased by the service. We are a 70+ year old couple, and other than the driver from Reno Airport to South Lake Tahoe (who was polite and professional), we were lied to and ignored by the staff, especially on Saturday morning. The driver on the trip back from S. Lake Tahoe refused to turn down the music after a polite request. He told us to move toward the back of the bus, because he "needed the music to drive.". The office person at the airport refused to give us any information about someone to contact or phone or email in the business office to whom we could complain. He was the only person there, and said was in charge but he wouldn't provide any information about making a complaint to the company. As a former business owner, I would want to know if an employee of mine was rude and disrespectful to my customers. We would never use this carrier again. We would rather have paid more for Uber or rental car than to have used the South Lake Tahoe Airporter. read more

The driver of the bus that we took from Harvey's down the mountain to the Reno airport is not a safe driver. He takes his phone out of his shirt pocket to look at it while he is driving. This includes while he is driving down the curved mountain road. If his phone makes a sound that there is a message, he takes it from his pocket to look at it. He not only did this on the winding road, but even as he got down the mountain, he read texts or something while at the light at the bottom of the hill. He looked at it again while he was driving on the freeway before getting to the Reno airport. I tried calling his boss, Lisa Allen, 4 times yesterday and one time today. I intentionally did not leave a call back number as then they would have my number and trace it back to which bus, and which driver. All I wanted was them to talk to their drivers and not fire him. The lady that answers the phone is a VERY bad representative for the company. She answered the phone on 8/29/18 at 10:05am. She had an attitude on most of the calls when I wouldn't tell her what my complaint was and yesterday at one point was raising her voice, trying to talk over me, getting very loud and insulting to me. She should be reprimanded and made to go to anger management classes for how she behaves when customers call and she doesn't get her way. Anyways, I would recommend that if you use them that you sit close to the front, watch the driver closely. I have video of him using his phone while behind the wheel, although it is when the bus is at a red light. I assume still illegal, but maybe not. But would be in Las Vegas. My phone wouldn't switch on to record and such all before he put his phone away again the other times. But their drivers need to be paying attention to the road, not their phones. The driver, Pokey, was absolutely hilarious. She made the drive excellent and the bus was well maintained.

The bus was fine. We used it from RNO to South Lake Tahoe However the driver was reckless when unloading the bags. He had a metal rod that he was trying to use to pull the bags out and struck my son very hard across the nose with it, possibly breaking his nose. We still have to get it x-rayed. The driver didn't even apologize (blaming my son for being too close) and rushed off before we could get any written documentation of the incident. read more

Terrible customer service. Bus from Reno to South Lake Tahoe broke down on the side of the highway and we were stuck there in the heat for over an hour. The bus driver kept repeating "this just happened yesterday", "this bus wasn't fit to be on the road in the first place" and "it's not my fault they gave me this bus to drive because all of the good ones were taken". Understandably, these are not words that would give comfort to anyone. We had chosen to take a shuttle to avoid safety issues of having to navigate to Lake Tahoe on our own, but we now wish we had just rented a car to save on the frustration and danger of being on the road with Amador Stage Lines. With all of that being said, accidents happen--we get that. But that's where good customer service should come in. When I called Amador to ask for a refund due to the breakdown and delay, they simply replied "sorry our tickets are not refundable". This is unacceptable. Safety is a priority when it comes to transportation, and I don't care if you don't know "why your employee would be saying those statements" because at the end of the day, that driver was YOUR employee, YOU have full responsibility over him, and over the safety of the bus. It was terrible customer service to not accommodate or accept responsibility for this incident. I would not recommend this service to anyone. read more

Horrible. Absolutely in the top 10 worst experiences with a company I have had so far. We booked well in advance and the following was our experience: They ignore your emails with the exception of the ones to book your transportation and take your money. They were 1/2 an hour late showing up, which got us to our event late. The company said the driver left on time, the driver said the company sent out her out late - so we were getting lied to. We booked a car service for 10, were TOLD they were sending a Mercedes Sprinter and they showed up with a 45 passenger tour bus (very embarrassing as we were entertaining high end customers and executives). read more

Was transported by this company for an event we where staying in Reno for. The bus was old and smelled inside. It was an MCI from god know what year. Complete POS. It broke down and no A/C. They sent another bus for us they called a transit. It to was a piece of CRAP!!!! No place for our stuff not even a radio and very poor A/C. I would recommend anyone other than this company. Their fleet is old and worn out. We were told by our group they will not use them again because of all the complaints they got from attendees. read more

On 2/24/17 our bus from South Tahoe to the Reno airport was 1.5 hours late to arrive causing our party of 3 to miss the check-in time for our flight. We had to fly stand-by and arrived a day late to our destination. We asked Amador for compensation (return our fees, but received no reply). The driver stayed much too long at pick-up points and decided to install chains on the wheels. No other buses installed chains and we were passed by other Amador buses going up the mountain out of Tahoe. Others in our party left an hour after us and arrived before us at the airport. Still others in our party left on an Amador bus earlier than us and arrived on time at the airport. I would have left an even lower rating if possible. DO NOT rely on this company. read more

Scheduled a private car "door to door" service with Amador Stage Lines from Reno airport to Marriott Timber Lodge in South Lake Tahoe. Despite confirming the day of my flight no one showed up. No one answered any of the phone lines when we tried calling. When I called the next day I got the run around and told to call a different number or ask for a different person that never seemed to be available... To add insult to injury they tried charging my credit card $150. Thankfully I used my American Express card and they removed the charge as soon as I called them. Do not use this company if you are looking for transportation to or from the airport. read more

Wedding couple hired Amador to transport guests from the hotel to the wedding venue which was wonderful. However, the AC did not work on a +93 degree day, then the bus over heated and we were stopped on the side of the road. Very poor experience with Amador. read more

I was scheduled to return to the airport on 5/17/2013 on the early (5:57am) shuttle. I got up bright and early to insure that I didn't miss the shuttle (in fact, I got up at 4:00 am and was in the lobby of the hotel at 5:15am). This was my first time ever using a shuttle service from the airport. I asked the concierge if I needed to wait outside for the shuttle and they told me that the driver comes in and gets us. So I patiently waited until 5:57 am. 5:57am comes and goes - no shuttle. 6:07am comes and goes - no driver. The concierge starts calling other hotels to see if the shuttle has arrived - no sign of shuttle. 6:20 comes and goes - no shuttle. Concierge attempts to call anyone to find out status of the shuttle. She is unable to get any information because calling the emergency number does no good because they state that they don't open until 10am. How can you run a shuttle service that early in the morning and not have your offices open? So the concierge asks me what I want to do (should she call for a taxi)? I instruct to wait until 6:50 am hoping and praying that the shuttle will come so I won't miss my 9:30am flight. 6:50am comes and goes - no shuttle! Guess I'll have to take a taxi - that'll be $200 please! So I get to the airport around 8:05am and march straight over to the South Tahoe Express in the airport terminal. Do you think they were open? Nope. So much for customer service. So let me break this down - it cost me $53.00 dollars round trip + $205.00 for taxi = $258.00 dollars to get to and from the airport.
