Discover lake Tahoe tours is a great company. They offer several tours, ranging from Yosemite full…read moreday tour, a tour around the lake, a tour to Virginia City, and a tour to the wineries in and around apple hill. We were in SLT for a week and had already planned on going to apple hill, so when I saw this tour offered by our resort, I jumped all over it. They have modern luxury small buses. The seats are extremely comfortable and the ride was smooth. The driver, John, narrated the whole trip with history of the areas and photo opportunities. A picnic lunch was provided at one of the wineries, with sandwiches potatoe salad, fresh salad and a variety of beverages. If in south lake Tahoe, and you do not want to deal with the traffic and maps, try this company out. They were on time picking us up, they totally accommodated both my wife and being disabled. Will be back next year.

This review concerns a wedding transportation service that failed to follow the agreed schedule,…read moreresulting in a 40-minute delay, stranded guests, and significant disruption to the event. The driver ignored the authorized point of contact and accepted unauthorized instructions, causing confusion and missed portions of the wedding timeline. The company's response afterward did not acknowledge responsibility and instead focused on justifying the situation. If you're considering Discover Lake Tahoe Tours for a wedding or any event where timing matters, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. I hired this company for my wedding transportation and made it explicitly clear that we had a strict schedule. From the beginning, there were administrative issues that should have been a red flag. I was initially sent the wrong contract for an entirely different group, which raised concerns about their attention to detail. Then, just three days before the wedding, I received an email suggesting we move the initial pickup location away from the valet area off hotel property --making my guests walk further. The result on the day of the event was a disaster. After getting my wedding pictures taken on the way out I found Twenty-six of my guests standing waiting 35 minutes after the shuttle was supposed to have left with them. I then had to personally drive around the resort with my new bride searching for the shuttle. When I finally located the driver, he was sitting in a back parking lot playing on his phone. I was extremely frustrated at this point and did speak to him in an aggressive tone once he dropped everyone off at the reception. When I confronted him, he claimed the lady in charge had instructed him to delay the pickup. There was in fact no lady in charge. He could not and can still not give me a name of this "lady in charge". He never made any effort to contact me--the only person he had been communicating with and the only person authorized to approve any changes--to verify this instruction or confirm a schedule change. Instead, he simply acted on it without question, leaving my guests waiting and completely disregarding the agreed-upon plan. Because of this unnecessary delay, my guests didn't leave the venue for approximately 40 minutes after they were supposed to. We missed our cocktail hour, paid our DJ $350 per hour to perform in an empty room, delayed approximately $5,000 worth of food, and created unnecessary stress and confusion on what should have been one of the most important days of our lives. What made the experience even worse was the company's response afterward. Instead of taking responsibility, I was told that this was a "brand new bus," which has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the driver ignored the agreed-upon schedule and accepted directions from someone who had no authority to change it. I was also told that he could have charged me an additional $100 because the service exceeded the two-hour booking. The only reason it exceeded two hours was because of the driver's own mishandling of the schedule. To top it off, they complained that they usually receive additional tips--even though I had already been required to prepay a mandatory $100 gratuity. As the customer who paid $800 for this 2 hour service, I expected professionalism, communication, and adherence to the timeline we agreed upon. Instead, I spent part of my wedding day searching for my own shuttle while my guests waited. The lack of accountability was every bit as disappointing as the original mistake. Rather than apologizing and making things right, the company chose to make excuses and imply that I should have been grateful they didn't charge me even more. I cannot recommend Discover Lake Tahoe Tours to anyone planning a wedding or other event where reliability, communication, and professionalism are essential.

I was quoted a price of over $200 for taxi. By the time I waited for the shuttle, all the hotel shuttles had finished. I decided to Lyft since I had no other options at that point. I will not plan on using the service again since I cannot depend on it and there was no recourse or way to contact/confirm.

The salmon and steak plates were surprisingly great! Friendly and quick service in the dining cabin. Snack bar is pretty good and reasonable. I enjoyed the stops, scenery and the people. There are beautiful families (Manninites?) with their vibrant clothes colors and white head coverings. The interior feels like an older train. There is a community shower and toilet. **Grand Junction Station has a wonderful brewery, FOAM & FOLLY. Rush over there to pick up some cans. Choose another option! You only graduate from high school…read moreonce in a lifetime. It is also unbelievably expensive to fund your kids through school but even more so their senior year. My daughter's senior grad trip was Friday the 7th and they were to leave AACT at 1pm and arrive in Universal Studios Hollywood at 9pm and arrive home Saturday the 8th at 1pm leaving City Walk at 4am. This was a 24 hour trip that cost us each individually, nearly $400 for tickets, food and transportation. We paid for only the grad night experience in Universal which, had they arrived on time, would have been a total of five hours. My daughter was on the unfortunate bus that kept overheating on what was supposed to be a 7 1/2 hour drive. That means that they were without air conditioning on a bus full of sweaty, tired teenagers who quite literally came directlt from finishing their finals to take this trip. Maintenance on your vehicles is important. How on earth does a chartered bus overheat that much? To say my own daughter was miserable, is an understatement. Further, they were spread across multiple busses and the person with their tickets was on the bus that apparently was too cool for an accurate GPS system. There is no excuse for not utilizing WAZE while driving in California but to take the wrong turns before even leaving Nevada? How does that even happen in the age of technology? Several students who are already a half hour late for a five hour experience, were left waiting outside the park that they paid for another full hour until their entire class arrived. If nothing else, stay together when driving! By the time they got inside the park, most of the rides that were supposed to be open for them were closed. They got 3.5 hours of a 5 hour ticket which we paid for. This wasn't an act of God but incompetency in maintenence, driving and then further, a policy which required 8 hours between the return trip and delayed arrival, that our kids wait inside a closed movie theater for five hours (instead of the original two) without their water bottles, medications, phone chargers, pillows, blankets or anything that would make them remotely comfortable or be able to communicate with parents who had almost no idea what was going on. This also meant that on the final week of graduations, plannedpartied, dinners etc that my exhausted, sweaty teenager arrived home at 5pm with only a half hour to get ready for her best friend's graduation dinner, which she was almost too tired to stay awake through. It is my understanding that the organizers are seeking restitution which in turn provides us, the paying customers, restitution as well. When asked if she had fun, my daughter's response was an emphatic no. This was not the final experience she was supposed to have with her high school and her classmates. Amador Lines is a large part of ruining this for her, a moment she will never have again. If you are looking for transportation, I highly recommend you look elsewhere. A charter bus should not have the same or actually worse capabilities, then a greyhound. In fact, that might have even been better. Amador, fix your busses and get GPS.

She had very little experience in this and she ended up getting a seat on a local. The tickets said it had two stops, however this is a misnomer. There are two stations where you can get out, But the bus stops many times on the way to pick up travelers. So a normal 4 Hour drive ended up it up taking her about 8 hours to get here. The workers and the drivers were friendly. She had no issues with any of the patrons. The bus was completely packed. The only real issue was the drop off in Sparks. The Sparks bus stop has no place for someone to wait out of the weather. There's an overhang. When my mother-in-law asked where she was to wait, one of the workers told her to go across the street to a small kiosk/café. Luckily she didn't have to wait too long, but it was freezing cold. I have not been on a Greyhound bus since I was a teenager, it is how are you right to Reno. They had a nice bus station in Bakersfield where I left with the café. I do remember it was a little expensive back then, and when I arrive to Reno, it was also a bus station with lots of indoor seating and a restaurant/café. I am not sure if these types of bus stations exist anymore? The online process is quite easy. They even have a greyhound app if you are a frequent traveler. Their website is quite nice and they also provide runaways and children free rides if needed. And of course budget friendly. The bus was definitely clean. So yeah, I wouldn't hesitate to use Greyhound bus system if there was a need.
