I'm so glad to have found someone who is conveniently located to me (in the Back Bay and a quick, 15-minute walk from my Beacon Hill office) and does consistently beautiful work. When I first came to him, my hair had so many different tones of blonde in it (& not in a good way), but he was able to even it out with a combination of high and lowlights that made it look natural and fresh. I have received so many compliments on my color and am happy to be able to refer people to him. Ana is the esthetician at Amaci and she is equally as fabulous. 2 weeks back, I went to Amaci salon for the first time for a haircut. Had a really bad experience at this salon. The haircut was a disaster. Karina butchered my cut, for $95 +$30 as a tip. It was a total bust. I showed her a picture of the cut I wanted. I don't know what she did to my hair, my hair looks so funny. Neither I can wear my hair loose, nor I am able to tie it, my hair looks a mess either way. First, I thought it may take time for my hair to settle but that was not the case. After 1 week, I called the salon and took another appointment to show them my hair and to give me some resolution to the mess Karina made. Karina said my hair texture is not good. I asked her to fix the haircut. She said she texturized my hair, and nothing can be done now. She advised me not to get my hair texturized next time, whereas I didn't even know what is texturizing. I made a biggest mistake going there. From what I experienced this is the worst place to get haircut done. Please don't go to this salon if you don't want to look funny. read more

I have very curly hair and usually get a Devacut but I decided to try this place out for a cut and balayage. I am very happy with the results. The color looks great-distinct but natural. The cut is great too. Amad gave my hair a full look without giving me triangle hair. He started with a dry cut, then colored it, straightened it and cut off a little more. Great Men's Haircut. Fair Prices. Friendly and Experienced Staff. I was staying across the street at the Park Plaza hotel and gave Amaci a call to see if they could squeeze me in the same day. Amaci is the salon to go for highlights and styling. Moreover, if you have thick, long hair or soft wavy hair you too have to go to Amaci for color. Amad is very sensitive with the placement of the highlights. Super balayage. I always have excellent cool tone and occasional chic warm tone. His color never turns orange on me. Also Amad managed to maintain the quality of my hair in great condition even I do roots and highlights frequently. I don't know how he did that, my hair looks good between appointments. The stylist didn't arrive until 15 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start and then took a few more minutes to prepare, but I didn't have any plans after so it wasn't a huge deal. Another stylist was also late so just keep that in mind if you have a tight schedule. I would recommend Ria if you have long hair and need a trim but are nervous about a stylist cutting too short. This review is for the Brazilian wax by Anna. I've been to Anna a few times and was always pleased with how the wax turned out...despite the fact that it was normally more painful with her than ppl I went to in the past, she got it perfect every time so I wasn't going to complain about the pain. Well, the last time I went was VERY painful (I have a high tolerance for pain) and when I got home I saw quite a bit of hair left behind and she had taken off skin. I have never had skin removed in a wax before and I'm not on any new meds that can cause a weakening of the skin. Because of this, I do not recommend her, especially if you have a low threshold for pain. I'll find a different waxer who doesn't take my skin when I'm getting hair removed.
