When you think of authentic Trini-Chinese cuisine, Alvin's is the place that comes to mind. Their shrimp wontons are to die for!!!! This restaurant is located in a strip mall off of Colonial in Orlando. There is ample parking and a few stores near by. When you enter there is usually music playing while you wait for your food as they're mainly a to-go or take-out restaurant. Their menu has everything from wontons to fried rice to bbq. They even have treats such as mango chow and Caribbean sodas and drinks like champagne kola. The food is definitely made with love because it translates through the dishes. The service provided is so warm, it gives you the feeling of being in a relative's home while hanging out and waiting for your meal. Top things recommended to try are the wontons and the bake and shark, you will thank me later!!!!

Alvin's Cuisine is one of my go to spots for a delicious meal! Their cuisine is mostly Trini-Chinese food as well as other variations. The shrimp wontons are AMAZING!! I took my coworkers and they were amazed as well! Also, the Chinese Chicken is top notch! I've never had a bad meal here! Love this place and will continue to go!

1st time trying Alvins's Cuisine. The vybes in the restaurant is nice and welcoming. You can dine in and take out. Food is definitely on point. For real Trinidad style Chinese this is the place to go. Definitely can't wait to try the other items on the menu. Definitely check their hours. But it's honestly worth it Keep up the amazing work and thank you for giving us the trini style away from home

Hands down the best tasting Trinidadian Style Chinese food. Alvin's has been around for 12 years and this was my first time going but will continuously go back. The food was AMAZING! it reminded me of the true authentic Trinidadian Chinese style chicken we get back home in Trinidad as well as the shrimp wontons. I love how they dressed it up with the sauces.

You ever had a food dream? Lemme tell you something, Shrimp wonton's from Alvin's gave my the most real food dreams ever. I went to bed one night imaging that I was devouring a dozen shrimp wontons. That's how good these are. Although I visit Orlando once a year, I always make it my business to stop here. Their Trinidadian style Chinese Food is the closest thing I've had to Trinidad & Tobago. Although they don't serve the classic roti/doubles and Pelau, their Chinese style menu is authentic to the Cantonese flavors you get on the island. Their Lo'mein, Roast duck, Char Siu Kai fan puts me back to my favorite Chinese spot in Port of Spain. The wontons however, are the real winners. If you do order them, be sure to get those bad boys dressed up in garlic and soy sauce. Also KETCHUP and pepper if you like it spicy.

This place is SO GOOD! As soon as I walked in, I noticed how clean the restaurant was. And the owner was very friendly and nice and greeted us right away. The order was ready in a good amount of time, about 20-25min. The restaurant specializes in Guyanese-Chinese food so I tried the Fried Shrimp Wontons, the Char Sui Kai Fan with Lomein, and the Veggie Fried Rice. The star of the show is definitely the Fried Shrimp Wontons with the Garlic Sauce. That garlic sauce is the best garlic sauce I've ever had and I'm sure it could make anything taste amazing. The Char Siu Lomein and Veggie Fried Rice were also very tasty, a bit on the sweeter side than what I'm used to, but still very good and the texture was spot on. I just added some of their pepper sauce to balance out the sweetness for me and add a little heat and it worked out perfectly. Overall, the food and customer service was so good, I can't wait to come back and try more of their food!

Best West Indian Chinese food in town! Everything is tasty and flavorful. I love their chicken fried rice and the chicken with garlic sauce. My sister always gets the pepper shrimp fried rice. You can also order catering trays for parties. The owner/Chef is friendly and always makes us feel like family whenever we go.

My friend told me I HAD to stop by Alvin's Cuisine when visiting Orlando to taste some good Trinidadian Chinese food and Chef Lystra did not disappoint! Food was made fresh to order and so deliciously flavorful! The fried rice is a MUST! I had the Chinese chicken and hubby had the jerk chicken. Both was good but I thought the Jerk was the bomb. Above that the friendliness and hospitality of Lystra and her beautiful daughter was warm and welcoming!

Lystra always hooks us up! My mouth was watering all the way home and it was well worth it. Garnished to perfection with extra sauce

We also got the Pineapple Ginger Juice. The staff was friendly. I paid with a card so I was charged a 3% convenience fee which for our order totaled an additional $2. The wait for the food and drinks was short and we received all items in a reasonable time. The food was flavorful. The Saltfish is mixed with the Ackee and was minimal in portion size. The best item was the Fried Dumplings. They were fresh and cooked perfectly. The Pineapple Ginger Juice is a favorite. It's refreshing whether it's served bottled or from the fountain. The juice has a good balance of the pineapple and ginger flavors.

Plus, they were on Uber Eats and I didn't feel like going out. Ordered my usual Jamaican dish - brown stew chicken with rice and peas and vegetables. Started out with the carrot cake - 10/10. Cake was moist, cream cheese icing was creamy and not too sweet, a good amount of carrots in the cake, a big portion sliced in half for sharing, and an affordable price. Brown stew chicken - 5/10. Ok flavor, but the chicken was kind of dry. I would have liked extra gravy but was unable to make that special request. Rice and peas - 10/10. Rice was good, nice hint of coconut milk, peas cooked perfectly. Veggies - 2/10. Bland AF. Everything except for the cabbage tastes like it came from a can. Plantain - 2/10. Bland, kinda dry. Would only order from here again for the carrot cake.

I was getting together with some friends and we ordered from Negril. Luckily, a couple of my friends are Jamaican and they helped steer me to some new faves! Food I'd highly recommend: - Brown stew chicken meal with rice and peas, fried plantain, and stewed cabbage. This dish is rich and has the potential for leftovers if you're not starving. For the uninitiated, Jamaican rice and peas consist of red kidney beans and rice that's cooked in broth, coconut milk, and tons of aromatic spices. This isn't your white rice and green peas type of situation. I could have eaten this rice on its own, but add in the brown stew sauce and WOW. Also, I love the cabbage side because it adds a vinegary note that offsets the rich stew. Note: The chicken is cut up and includes bones. - Coco bread: This is a Jamaican style bun baked with coconut milk. It's especially good when paired with a patty in the middle (yes, the coco bread around the patty! Carb heaven!). - Festival: Jamaican festival is a sweet fried dough made with cornmeal, flour, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and milk aka a dumpling. Yes this is as good as it sounds- especially for soaking up brown stew gravy! I was BLOWN away to see an entire veggie section of the menu (for online ordering) featuring soya veggie chunks (a soy based option with the consistency of chicken). That's a HUGE deal for those of us with vegetarians in the family. Overall, delicious Jamaican food that I'll definitely order again!
