This review is long over due.. We went from carpet in the living room and master to porcelain dark wood tile, a more dog friendly floor. Everywhere we went we were told that if the tile wasn't installed correctly with a pattern it would look terrible. The other issue we faced was that several wholesalers that are open to the public do not offer installation. We obtained 3 quotes and Daniel Alvarez was the most competitive. I selected him because his quote was extremely detailed of what would be done and didn't try to nickel and dime every single thing like the other installers, he also offered to pick up the tiles for us at the local store we purchased them from this was a big plus since we don't have truck or the manpower. I emailed him a copy of my order and he arrived at my house with the tiles, I was only responsible to pick the grout color and buy the mix. He even called me from the store to double check that I had bought enough and had everything he asked me to buy. He and his crew arrived as committed and it was pouring rain, they took several hours prepping the floor and being careful with our home by cleaning after themselves. He was extremely patient when he proposed several options for the tile layout since I wanted them staggered, he gave his advice on what he thought looked best. He and his crew worked in the 2 separate rooms steadily to complete the laying of the tile. I would force them to take a break and eat lunch. Now that's dedication :) Daniel is very patient, friendly, professional and honest. We plan to use him again for tile in other rooms in our home and our bathroom showers. Had Daniel and his crew put laminate floors in our 2 bedrooms. He said he would be here between 8 and 9, arrived 8:10 went right to work tearing out the old carpet, I also asked him to redo my granddaughters closet, I had to leave at 11 and could not believe that they were done at 1:30 when I got back. They did a beautiful job on the floors and the closet I would highly recommend them for anyone that needs work done at their house. I've worked with a lot of contractors and sub-contractors in my lifetime. I used to work construction on high end homes and commercial properties and I'm always doing construction on my own home. I shopped around for over a year for a tile guy and I decided to go with Alvarez Tile for several reasons. Daniel came right away and gave me an estimate. He was very professional and very knowledgeable. He pointed out things that the other people I got estimates from didn't. He gave me a very competitive bid to install wood looking tile on my entire downstairs area and to tile three walls. He didn't have a lot of references but all of his references were very good to excellent. I know when a contractor is on point right away. My antenna's are always up. I chicken hawked his entire crew the whole time they were in my home. His guys were always there on time and ready to work. Daniel kept constant communication with me throughout the entire project. His guys were clean, courteous and took great care with everything they touched. They responded well to curve-balls and worked the entire time they were there. I mean they worked all day long. From 8am - 5pm. When I tell you these guys kick ass, they kick ass with both feet! It was a pleasure to work with his entire crew.
