WORST COMPANY EVER! I Wish I read reviews before I went with this awful company. The patio cover leaked from the very first rain fall. The warranty means nothing to them. They dont tell you that, what they do is keep telling you someone will call to schedule a repair. The joke that showed up broke the gutter while trying to figure out how to repair the leak. Left us during Christmas and New Years season with a hole in the patio cover. Said he would come back after Christmas but showed up in February after me calling a million times! Finally came and put a piece to replace the gutter he broke that was a different color and looks spray painted fresh. Dont know where he got it but it didnt fix the leak. Been almost 1 1/2 years now and still no fix and when I call i get the worst customer service ever making me feel like I have no right to be angry. I have called William evey name in the book for how mad I am. Mind you this was an $11,000 patio cover and unfortunatly the 3rd install that my family did with them a if that mattered to them. All 3 installs had issues! I wish we would of waited between installs to see how the first one goes. While installing the mail strip that attachess to the house they put the bolts straight thru the wall to my room. I called them from the first day and the same thing with the run around. I have had leaks since the beginning and even when they come and "fix" it, it continues to leak. It has leaked through my electrical as well. I wouldn't even give them a 1 star. First off Rick Mercado is unprofessional and rude (should be fired). Had patio installed, first rain it leaked bad! Patio furniture, ceiling fans, and tv ruined. I notified the company approximately 5 months after installation and after the first rain. Patty (unknown last name) said she would fix it. Sent a guy who just added caulking. Didn't fix issue, the solution is "flashing". Spoke to Rick Mercado who is very unprofessional, cussing and hanging up. On 06/07/23, a representative from the legal team (Mr. R...) had a repair man (Neil) come out and address my leaking issues. Neil was very knowledgeable and I am 99% sure the issue are resolved. Sometimes it takes the "troops in the trenches" not the "suit behind the desk" to solve the problems. read more

No leaks ! we could sit out there we get high winds with our storms so of course the winds did blow some rain on the patio ,but thats no one's fault ! They had Neil put up our patio ,he did it all by himself took 3 days but he did a Great job ! Neil would show up late but he stayed well into the evenings ,he got the work done ! Disappointed. Don't waste your time with AlumaCovers. This company did not want to do business. I've been trying to work with my AlumaCovers Rep for a patio cover but had a devil of a time getting any response for weeks to firm up an agreement so we could proceed. My hope was to begin as soon as my patio slab was fully cured and my permit finalized (which I was going to do myself with the company's drawings). It turns out they are too busy - and I live too far away in Highland. About 3 years ago, I had an AlumaCover installed in a rental property I own and was (and am) extremely pleased. The sales rep and installer were both AMAZING! To my dismay, that sales rep is no longer with AlumaCovers and now they are short-staffed, over-booked, and just not interested in selling to me. He even suggested cost saving for me particularly in getting the permits which was another breeze from the city of Chino. Everything was done online. And once my permits are done the install crew was very efficient followed Covid precautions and completed the work in six hours. Like most other 1-star reviews for AlumaCovers, I would give no stars if it was an option. My review in a nutshell: using this company is a crapshoot. If your cover doesn't leak, you're a winner. If your cover leaks, get ready for lots of frustration and false promises from this company with no remedy. Last spring my neighbor and I both had AlumaCovers out for an estimate and chose to have them install our patio covers. Looked great and my husband and I loved it... until the first heavy rain that is. Our main reason for getting this cover was so that we could walk out the back door without getting soaked and to protect our patio furniture year-round. Sadly, the first heavy rain and the cover leaked directly over the back door. And with the heavy rains in 2022, we couldn't go out without getting soaked. We were disappointed to say the least and called to let them know. They (Patty) seemed responsive and said they will have someone come out to fix it once the weather clears enough for someone to work on it. This was in October/November of 2022. Fast forward several months now, I have no less than 10 text messages and 4 voicemail messages promising to come and fix it, arranging dates where I would stay home and be available and over and over and over again nobody showed up. Since early this year it has been one missed appointment after another and to add insult to injury, I had to notify Patty that nobody showed up as I would not receive a courtesy notification that the appointment would have to be rescheduled. It's been one excuse after another. By the way, my neighbor has the exact same problem and each time they scheduled an appointment with me they scheduled hers at the same time so this is both of us going through this frustration. The last promise was made on May 30 that "Neil will be stopping by today to take a look at the leak." Shocker of all shockers, Neil was a no-show. I gave her a few days to contact me with yet another excuse but nothing so I texted her on June 6 stating that Neil was a no-show at my house and didn't show up at my neighbor's house either. She replied thanking me for letting her know and sent me another text that evening stating that we would be rescheduled for June 19... guess what... crickets. This is a long post but believe me, I have condensed all the details of my (and my neighbor's) attempts to get them to fix our cover. My Neighbor and I are at the end of our rope and tomorrow I am going to contact the main headquarters with one final chance for them to repair my patio cover. If they don't respond quickly, my neighbor and I have decided to contact an attorney to see if we can have a different company correct the leak and then sue AlumaCovers in small claims to recover the cost. This is now a matter of principal. read more

My husband called the owner recently to get some replacement buttons that had fallen off the side of the patio posts and were lost. We initially contacted 4 contractors to get a quote for a patio cover. Eric was our sales agent. He is very straight forward, which I like and got down to business no b.s. He gave us the price as it should then let us decide which way to go. We ended up getting a 12X38 cover with 2 fans and 2 electrical outlets. We were in a rush to get it done for a baby shower we had scheduled. Eric came through getting us scheduled few days before the baby shower. The quality looks good, install was great overall I can't complain much except they left some of their trash which we cleaned up. Eric offered to have them go back clean it but I said it's no biggie. The only other thing I don't like is getting a call from the owner on a holiday after I already spoke to Eric about accepting the work completion online. I know they have a business to run, but that was uncalled for, especially the way he asked. Other than that, I'd still consider them for future work. read more

Very disappointed with my patio cover. It leaked all over my $20k patio furniture. This is the 2nd time my patio has leaked. It's been Installed since 2016. Their website clearly says and I quote "Here at Alumacovers we stand behind all of our US based manufacturer's products. Enjoy a lifetime warranty on all of our installs." When the patio cover was sold to me I was told there was a life time warranty on the material and 10 years on the install. As you will see that's not true. If I was told 5 years on the install then I wouldn't be writing this review. Fair is fair. Well I was rudely informed that I had to pay $260 for a warrant that was supposed to be 10 years but if you read their website, "LIFE TIME ON INSTALLS". My wife initially spoke with the owner William and it didn't go well. She felt he was a bit snappy when she called to address our leaking issue. At that point I gave him a call the next day and to my surprise he was just as rude to me as he was to her. He told me that he don't like repeating himself and told me he wasn't going to explain hisself again. He told my wife and myself that noting last for ever. I feel like I was taken advantage of. At that point I could see we wasn't getting anywhere and just decide to pay the $260. I mean what choice did I have, my patio furniture was getting ruined. I couldn't even get a receipt for the repair. He promised me one but it's been a week. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my 54 year of living. To quote their website again they list "Honor and Integrity". Where's the honor in standing by their warranty and where's the integrity with treating customers with respect. I just had a patio cover installed less than a week ago. I noticed a problem with the door hitting the patio cover and called the company to see if someone could come and fix it. An operator took my call and said someone would call me. Received a call an hour or so later, the person on the other end had an attitude since the beginning when I told him what the problem was. I brought this to his attention and then he really went off and said that it was a busy day with everything that's going on. I am sorry but business is business and customer service should be priority to these businesses. I used this company because of the reviews, however, if I would have read something like what I experienced I would have never used them. I would not recommend this company to anyone. To be frank, I don't know how this company is still in business. Uncle Eric is not qualified to be in sales and nephew Willie is the whiney owner. I ordered a patio cover with Uncle Eric and he told me that since I wanted a 17 ft wide patio, I had to use the insulated aluminum and it would cost an extra $1.00 per sq ft. I said ok. The day the crew (Carlos) shows up with the material, the top was short by a foot and it wasn't the insulated aluminum I thought I was required to buy. So Carlos (awesome guy and crew) calls Willie and tells him the patio cover is only 16' wide. Willie gets on the phone with me and offers a $200 discount (the actual amount I would have saved if I wanted a 16' patio) if I take the smaller patio. Seriously? I ordered a 17' patio cover for a reason, I want a 17' patio cover. I said no way. He asked me how much of a discount I'd need to take the shorter cover. I said $500. He said no way and he'd order the longer cover and reschedule the install. I said ok and good bye. Five minutes later, as Carlos was packing up, nephew Willie calls back and tells me ok. He'll do it for $500 off. So back to work for Carlos. They did a great job installing the patio. It's the only reason I gave one star. At the end of the day, I paid Carlos the cash-discount price ($100 off) less the $500 discount Willie gave me for someone's screwup. The next day, I get a voice message from Willie, telling me how I had the nerve to take the $100 cash discount on top of the $500 discount. Why wouldn't I? I paid in cash! Willie seems to think that his customers should just accept whatever they decide to show up with. I was supposed to just take a shorter cover and live with it for $200? Who here has the nerve? To top it off, Willie tried to get a friend, whom I recommended to AlumaCovers before my cover was installed, to pay the $100 cash discount I took before he would install her cover. This would have been a good review even with all the cancellations, but the business owner is the worst i've ever had to deal with. He is very unprofessional and very disrespectful. The lack of customer service was appalling. I had a date for july 22nd for my patio to be done, the workers came and almost finished in one day but the guy said he "forgot some parts" for the rain gutter. So since they were 98% done and i loved the way it looked i paid them in full. BIG MISTAKE. the guy said he would finish friday. No call no show. So i text the guy who gave us the estimate and told him exactly what was not finished and sent in pictures. Then i got a call from a number from alumacovers asking me what did not get done. I explained to him and told me to send pictures and he would take care of it. This is now a week after the installation and nothing. So i called again asking for someone to finish. That same person told me they are really behind and they will try to get out there. I said i already paid in full, i should be the first priority to finish. 8 days later i call the 800 number to speak to someone else about this. i get a call back and asks me what they need to finish. Again i explain it and he says i will take care of it now send the pictures to this number and it will get done. I get off the phone to send the pictures and its the same number i sent them to last time. He texted back that he spoke to the crew and they will be there saturday and if anything goes differently to call him and he will take care of it. Saturday waited all day and nothing. I texted that number again asking where they are. He said he spoke to the guy and he cant make it because he had"car trouble" So i get a call from that guy and he said monday at 10am. Monday comes no show, Now im upset, 11 i get a call that they are waiting on parts and will call in half n hour , another hour passes and i text the guy who ive been texting asking for the number to the owner because i am very upset and need this patio done. That same number calls me and he asks what the problem is and i asked for the owners number, he said i am the owner William......WOW, its been the owner this whole time and still nothing. Then he very aggressively tells me that im being out of line and if his guys said they are waiting on parts then they are waiting on parts and i just need to wait. I said i cant believe this is how to talk to your customers. He said "i have many customers and we have so much work and i dont need you bitching at me about this, i dont need this!" He then began to taunt me about me reacting to them not being there. He wanted to call the "crew" and have me and him tell them how we feel. Apparently he treats his workers like crap too. He hung up on me twice and called back telling me that he doesn't need this and do i want this fixed or not. I said well whats my other option you give me my money back??? No. So i just need this today, again got hung up on and he texted me the rest of the time saying they will be there at 2-230pm it will be done today. I ended up leaving work early just to make sure everthing finally got done and i never have to deal with this low life ever again. His crew showed up by 2 but left 5 min later saying they had to go to home depot for parts......an hour and a half later they came and finally finished. The guy also told me he told william to inform me saturday that he would not be able to make it, not because his car broke down (that was a lie) but he had other jobs. So if you have to work with this company BEWARE, MAKE SURE NOT TO PAY UNTIL 100%DONE OR ELSE YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH WILLIAM AND HIS DISRESPECTFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAIT TWO WEEKS AND MAYBE HE CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THE JOB DONE AFTER THE HARRASSMENT OF HIS PHONE CALLS. read more

Like many, deciding to have a patio cover built entails a lot of pre-work on your part: jumping through rings of fire with your HOA, obtaining the best value for your dollar, city permits, picking the color and design for your cover, and most importantly, finding a company with good customer service. My adjacent neighbors and I embarked upon this mission together, hoping to have our patio covers in before the summer. We had several companies come out and provide us with quotes. Hands down, we all agreed we wanted to use ALUMACOVERS. They showed up on time for our appointments and were extremely easy to work with (especially Eric). Finding good customer service is rare now a days. We agreed to use ALUMACOVERS even if their estimate was high, but to our surprise they offered us a very reasonable price for each of our patio covers. My patio cover (and fan) was installed last weekend! My neighbors will be having theirs installed shortly thereafter. It has changed the appeal of my backyard and I couldn't be more pleased with it. Don't waste your time with this company. I signed a contract with them on 6/29 and had to wait to get cover installed because I was having concrete poured. Contacted them 8/1 to schedule the installation and they gave me an installation date of 9/16. They contact me the week before my installation date on 9/8 to tell me they had to cancel my installation date because they don't actually have my city permit after they told me back in August that they did have it. I called the city myself to find out what the hold up was with the permit because they blamed the city for taking so long to approve the permit and I found out the permit still wasn't approved because this company's business license was expired! They had 2 1/2 months to obtain this permit and did not get it and then made a ton of excuses as to why they didn't have my permit. I basically got so many excuses and the run around from the person I made the appointment with and the manager. Also when I spoke with the manager about the situation he was very rude and basically told me to go ahead and cancel because I wasn't going to be able to find another company to complete an installation anytime soon. read more

I have new found respect for people in the construction business. It is definitely not easy to keep calm when you have to deal with customers who are looking for best deals, city inspectors who are unwilling to sign off after the inspection, and many other issues. I commend William and the team at Alumacovers for handling all the issues that came up while installing our patio cover in a courteous and professional manner. Yes there were quite a few hick ups along the way but William was willing to work through those and move forward. Installation of the actual cover is not that difficult and in my case it was completed in little over a day by Carlos and his team who were also very professional and organized. The difficult part is to agree on the actual price to build the cover, make sure that the inspections are lined up, ordering material from the factory and making sure that it is the right size. William was on top of all of these issues. He went out of his way to make sure that everything was lined up to prevent any delays. I highly recommend Alumacovers and here is why. I spent a lot of time looking for the "best deal" for our patio cover. Alumacovers quoted a price that was very competitive and they honored that price. We are really happy with our new patio cover. We had two other companies come out and give us quotes. We decided to go with Alumacovers because their quote was significantly cheaper (which had me worried). Jerry came back out and took our deposit and said installation would be in a couple weeks. The day finally came and the installers came the day before to drop off materials. They came back in the late afternoon the following day and put up most of the cover. They came back the next day and finished up. They were quick and professional.
