The project included replacing the original…read moreplaster with PebbleTec, installing new waterline tile, and refinishing the rocks, waterfall, and slide, and new pool lights. Their office staff communicated well throughout the process, but unfortunately the workmanship has resulted in ongoing problems. They have returned approximately five times to address issues, yet we continue to have concerns. One major problem was that the area where the new tile met the skimmer box was never properly sealed, causing the pool to leak. We were told we needed to pay to have the leak detected, so we ultimately fixed the issue ourselves. The pool lights did not work. The paint used on the rocks has also proven to be very poor quality. It continually peels off, exposing the gray primer underneath, making the pool look worn despite only being a few years old. The PebbleTec finish is extremely rough--so rough that it has caused our children's feet to bleed while swimming. We expected a durable, professionally finished pool, not one that has required repeated repairs and still isn't comfortable to use. While the communication from their team was good, the quality of the work did not meet our expectations, and we cannot recommend them based on our experience.

Steer clear of this company. They provide OK pool service. Nothing exceptional and depending on who…read moreis servicing the pool they do the bare minimum and others go above and beyond. Unfortunately I received more of the bear minimum service. Plus the customer service you receive will be subpar! They have huge communication issues within the company as well as with their clients. We signed up with them in February 2024 when they were Cabana Pools and explained the time frame we needed. They were able to accommodate us and we became customers. Kyle was very helpful. However, sometimes they would come late or not at all and wouldn't notify us while Cabana Pools, once they became Pool Logic they never contacted us and when I contacted about service I was greeted with rude responses. Another issue we had was they would sometimes leave our gate open or unlocked if closed. Our most recent issue was the inconsistency with service and when I called to ask where our technician was I was greeted with someone else is covering and when I asked about an ETA, I was given there is no ETA. When I responded with ok however I am unhappy. It was escalated and I was given an ETA. The manager then contacted me and I missed the call. when I tried to call right back it said this number isn't receiving calls at this time . I tried calling again and a woman answered laughing. She then continued to giggle while I was responding. Very irritating and unprofessional. I spoke with the manager and he was very nice. He had explained that there was some confusion with the notes on the account, yet lack of communication within the company, and someone put notes on our account that were inaccurate. The manager was apologetic but did try to make excuses which upset me more. I did let him know we would likely be canceling service soon, and he understood. Unfortunately I hadn't canceled before they charged us, which is the 1st of the month, even if the 1st is a Sunday, which was 5 days before our next service. I immediately contacted them ask about canceling service and if I was able to receive a refund. I received confirmation the next day that they were canceling our service and a request to billing for a refund to be issued was sent. 24 hours later someone from billing, by the name Averie, said they would be sending me a check, not refunding my account. I immediately responded and explained that this wasn't ok as we have issues receiving our mail and they took the payment directly out of our account. She responded 23 hours later explaining that Quikbooks doesn't allow refunds to bank accounts. I then immediately called the office and asked for the Averie, I was told she wasn't in the office. When I asked for a manager I was asked why and I explained she just messaged me 2 minutes ago so she is in the office. I was then put on hold and she became available. Averie got on the call and proceeded to give information that was contradictory and when I asked for it to be escalated I was told that no one was there as the owner was the only escalation and he is currently out on Paternity leave and no one is taking over of him currently, so she would forward the info to him but could not guarantee any follow up soon. Very unprofessional!! I really liked the company when it was Cabana Pools. Not sure if the company expanded or merged, but since becoming Pool Logic it is the worst!

I signed the contract with their company the second week of November. Right out of the gate I asked…read moreKyle about debris accumulating in my spa and in the pool. Their technician came and serviced my pool, cleaned out the spa and within days, the spa was full again with debris. I called and I emailed Kyle asking if he could look into it. I got no response and his technician came the following week for the regularly scheduled cleaning and cleaned the spa with the same result, debris filled back up almost immediately. Kyle (or service manager) finally texted me back and scheduled the cleaning of my pool filter. Someone from their company cleaned the filter and left residue all over the concrete and a small portion of my backyard grass. They clearly used my outdoor hose to clean the filter and just as easily could have hosed the concrete off after they were done. Even more frustrating is when they left, I was not offered additional service to vacuum the spa out to ensure that in fact was the issue. The contract you will sign with states there is an additional $15 fee to have excess debris removed if needed prior to cleaning. I would have gladly paid extra to have the spa cleaned. I emailed them about all of this and included pictures. I still got no response from Kyle or someone their company. Moving forward, the following week was thanksgiving and the service got skipped until the next week. I did not want to wait two whole weeks for my spa and pool to be cleaned out. I have numerous other services that are delayed because of holidays (EDCO, Sparkletts Water, landscaping, etc) and all my services are delayed one day, not an entire week. PoolLogic started my service well into the month and I only got two cleanings in the entire month November. If the service was prorated to reflect the start date or reflect any given holiday, I would have been more flexible with their lack of communication. But when I still had to clean and vacuum out my own pool and spa on two different occasions, Its not worth the money or the frustration. I canceled my contract via email on Nov 30th and almost immediately Kyle reached out to ask why. After sending him the above stated response, he apologized for the lack of communication and offered a free month of service and free part replacement from my filter. I accepted the offer and told him I'm an easy person to get ahold of and a little communication, goes a long way. Not surprised, my pool never got serviced Dec 1st Or Dec 8th. So I emailed him back and just told him to cancel my contract. I'm sure they are nice people, just bad communicators.

They were really great to work with and very importantly, really knowledgeable and provide educated consultation. I think they have an engineering background and used to work for a really large reputable construction company so they are experienced and have seen it all. After speaking with them and seeing their portfolio I felt confident with moving forward on our projects. Overall, we're really happy with the work done and its worth getting a quote and talking through your projects. They're honest with you if the work could be done a different way that's more affordable or if you should go a different direction to solve the root problem. Because we also did so many projects, they were very generous in helping us out in certain areas. I trust their recommendations and explanations which is important for projects. If payment is a problem, they also have some kind of finance option that is 0% interest from a service they pay for to give their clients that option. LANDSCAPING PROJECT: We hired them to remove the gravel and mulch from our backyard and install pavers. The pricing was reasonable having had others provide quote us in the past. After watching the amount of effort it took to ensure the job was done thoroughly and correctly, I was really impressed. It wasn't just putting in pavers, but it was to solve the problem of water pooling up against our home which caused moisture damaging the foundation. They implemented a drainage system through digging and trenching to allow water to flow through a pipe that would dispense out to the street instead of to our home. They had to go through multiple steps in the process to make sure the pavers were level, but also so that it was at a slight (visibly unnoticeable) angle so that the water would flow towards the drains and out into the street. We were really pleased with the outcome and it came just in time during the storms whereas our neighbors had the water flood into their crawl spaces. They also answered all of our questions being new to the process thoroughly and were patient and accommodating. We almost went with concrete, but they advised that pavers are about the same cost and have a higher value as well as other benefits. So glad we took their recommendation! INSTALLED OUTDOOR VINYL FENCE: We wanted to remove the current stucco wall we had around our backyard and install a more aesthetic vinyl fencing. They worked in parallel to do the fencing and pavers in stages that ensured there were no openings that would subject us to strangers entering our property. The panels look great and were installed correctly. ELECTRICAL REWIRING and PANEL BOX UPGRADE We also had them work on our electrical to rewire our home. They were very proactive in getting the permits moving forward and working promptly. I didn't realize electrical rewiring was such a big project, but they kept all the moving parts going so we could finish in a prompt time. GENERAL HOME CONSTRUCTION TIPS FROM A NEWBIE: In general, I recommend touching base with the contractors when they arrive and before they leave to ensure the work done is the way you had envisioned it. Some of the subcontractor workers speak English and some may not. It wasn't a problem, but worth mentioning. I also recommend making sure you are clear in what you want and that the details are understood on the quote. It is best not to assume anything and best to give as much context as possible so they can help identify the best approach to solve the root problem. I was new to this process so thought this might be helpful for others! Luckily Jacob and Ron were easy to work and generous with their time. They won't rush you and are available to talk through any concerns before, during and after the project. For anything that needed fixing or adjusting, they diligently worked with their subcontractors. They were also very responsive and you could text them immediately with any questions!

We researched a bunch of different pool companies and asked for quotes and we went with La Costa Custom Pools. The scope of work included remodeling our waterfall feature, installing a new water slide, upgrading the pool control box, adding a salt cell system, replacing all pool lights, repairing cracks and chipped concrete, and repainting the trim around both the pool and spa. From start to finish, the craftsmanship and attention to detail were outstanding. Communication throughout the project was exceptional. We were consistently kept informed about timelines, next steps, and any adjustments. On the rare occasions when work had to pause due to rain, we received clear notice in advance. We never had to guess what was happening or when crews would arrive. Cory managed the project closely and made sure everything stayed on track. He brought in Bob, a master pool structure builder from Great X-Scapes, and along with Peri, they built an incredible waterfall and water slide that not only look amazing but are clearly built to last for years. As with any remodel, a few minor issues surfaced after completion. The trim paint began to chip due to a product issue, and there was a significant leak from an old pipe nipple in the existing pool setup. In both cases, Cory and Bill responded immediately. The entire trim was redone without hesitation, and the leak was repaired quickly and properly. That level of accountability and follow through speaks volumes. The project was originally quoted at around two months, and they completed it in just over one month without sacrificing quality. We couldn't be happier with the final result and would confidently recommend La Costa Custom Pools to anyone looking for professional, high quality pool work!
