On top of that, my cat must have been upset she wasn't invited, because a couple days after we returned home, she had a seemingly intentional accident in very close proximity to the dress. Although the dress was in a bag at the time, both the dress and the veil ended up with a slight odor to them. After that, I decided it was time to look into cleaning options. I had already been to Five Star in the past, so I used the Yelp project feature to reach out to them as well as a few other cleaners in the Sacramento area. They were very responsive and their pricing to clean and preserve the dress was very reasonable, so I decided to go with them. The turnaround time for cleaning was about a week, which is exactly what they estimated. They showed me the dress before it was boxed so I could confirm it was properly cleaned. There were no more mud stains, and the odor was completely gone! After I inspected the dress, they asked me to come back in a day or two after they had time to box it. It was wedding and prom season, so they were a little busy, and I told them I was in no rush to get the dress back. I went back a few days later and picked up a large box. There was an outer, regular, storage box and inside was a large preservation box that had a display window. It looked great! Oh, and to top it all off, I had originally only inquired about cleaning and boxing for the dress, but when I asked how much it would be to add the veil, they included it for free! Thank you!!

I followed those instructions, but unfortunately, it doesn't appear to have made a difference. It's really sad and frustrating to feel like you can't depend on your neighborhood cleaners to properly clean your clothes. I understand that mistakes can happen, but the results were not what I expected, especially after following the instructions I was given. I'm sharing this review because I feel my concerns should be expressed, and unfortunately, I will not be returning to Five Star Cleaners.

I called Nada and she asked me a few questions and set up and appointment for the following week to come in for a fitting to check what needed to be done. She took her time and asked me what I was looking to do and even told me her opinion on what needed to be taken in. She asked me my budget and worked with me to come to a realistic price which was still within my budget. As the hour went by she pinned the dress and I was on my way. Nada set up my next 2 appointments and ensured I was on her calendar. Come to my second fitting, I get there and try on my dress. She didn't want to do too many alterations so far away from my wedding, so it was perfect to see where I lost weight and take in more areas. Again, she gave me her professional opinion on what needed to be taken in and altered. 3rd and final meeting comes and it fits perfectly. I wanted lace added to the top of the cups which she has to do by hand and it was BEAUTIFUL. She did some last min touch ups and suggested she steam my dress so I didn't have to do it the day of and I'm glad she did. The dress fit perfectly and I looked amazing in it. Nada is friendly and sweet and even makes her own dresses for her guest attire at family weddings. When I left, Nada helped me to my car and gave me a hug. I was only partially happy with the alteration job I received. When I came back to try on, they were much better but still not great, as shown in the image. When I went to check out, I noticed a splotch on the shoulder of the dress on the sleeve. VERY small. When I asked her about it, she said it wasn't there before (which tells me that it happened in the shop, which it did). However she did not offer to dry clean it or try to get the stain out.
