We searched businesses in Logan that sold Thule racks and found The Sportsman. Arriving at the store, I explained our situation to a friendly gentleman (turned out to be Mark) who explained the modern Thule products very thoroughly. I was pretty candid explaining that I'd brought no tools (from Phoenix, our home) but Mark didn't hesitate a moment to commit to assemble and install. Finishing the installation, Mark took a bike from his store and demonstrated all of the loading and locking features of this new Thule rack. Wow, what a great improvement from our earlier model! So, if you're ever in Logan and need good clothing, equipment and, particularly, bicycles and accessories, visit The Sportsman. This business is the epitome of what great retailers with high value products and service aspire to achieve.

These guys are the best!…read more I've been going to the Sportsman for years, I've bought a number of bicycles from them, but best of all is their bicycle maintenance shop. They've always done a fantastic job, treated me well and at bargain prices! When a store does a great job, often times it's difficult to show appreciation for a job well done, so it is my pleasure to give Sportsman five stars. I recently took my bicycle to them with some problems I was experiencing with some grinding in the peddle bearings, I told them I was afraid I needed a new set of bearings, that I had wore mine out. They could have easily sold me an expensive set of new bearings, but they didn't, they were honest in their work, explained to me that the bearings were just dirty and needed a good cleaning, which they did for me at a great price. I was prepared to pay a high price, but instead was taken care of honestly and with great integrity, I appreciated that so much that I wanted to share my experience with you. My bike works like new again; thanks guys, you're awesome! Five stars from me!

Hibbett does a good job in supporting the home team, with a nice selection of Utah State Aggies stuff. I you want a selection of colors in your mitt or soccer ball, go to Hibbett. They have plenty of Nikes (especially Air Jordans), Converse, Under Armour, and the rest. The prices are just average, nothing that would influence a purchase over just getting it on Amazon. Hibbett has been around since 1945, has about 1,000 locations, and targets markets like Logan ... mid-range towns, a little rural ... they depend on the person who wants to look, try on, and touch the athletic gear they buy. It still leaves me asking: Who are you Hibbetts? What makes you unique? What do you provide that I can't get somewhere else?

I bet this was formerly a grocery store, meaning the interior is not giant, but they have a good mix of things. Upon first walking in, if you head to the very left of the store, you will find the cheapest stuff, some of it overstock, or more likely, expired or nearly so grocery items. A few examples: $0.25 gum or candy bars, $0.50 chips and other snacks, $1.00 cookies, nut butters, etc. Most of that is full of preservatives so you are probably safe if planning to consume right away. I nabbed a ton of gum, because what can even go bad in that, but follow your best judgment! Heading to the right from here, you will come across the standard grocery items, and many were the same price as a regular store, though still worth a look, as you never know what you'll come across. Bulk bags of flours, powdered milk and rice lie on pallets up front. Home goods live in the center, and there were some real surprises here: Instant Pots, Le Creuset stoneware sets, Keurig coffee makers, etc. Some of it is damaged or missing parts, so, like everything else in the store, do your due diligence and check it out, but there is a possibility for some real finds! Following that was some office/school supplies, baby items, toys, and finally clothing. The latter seemed to be poorer quality/no-brand as compared to the rest of the store, but it is still incredibly cheap if that is what you are looking for. They post specials on their Facebook page, so give them a follow if you live in the area.

Hands down the best sporting goods in Cache Valley. When you first walk in you know you picked the best store for sports gear and clothing. They have great management, as well as a knowledgeable and friendly staff. The store seems so heavenly, because of it's massive selection in top-of-the-line gear. Al's Sporting Goods has great sales on a regular basis, including huge sales for as much as 40% off. This makes it easy to find great prices on many items in the store you would be looking for. Some things in the store can be heavily priced depending on the season, and quantity of the item, but provide a club membership that gives you discounts on all objects in the store (this is only recommended if you plan on going often). They carry a much nicer selection of gear than a typical sporting goods store, so it's easy to go find exactly what you need. Al's is always the first place I check to find good gear before the season starts, and they hardly ever disappoint. They're always on top of their game when it comes to products, and is such a great place when it comes to finding presents. The overall vibe of the place is very helpful without being pushy. Staff members make sure that you know how to properly install your part, and use it to its best potential so you have no problems. If you are not in need of a part, and you are just looking for sports gear they tell you how well it'll work for your position. In one recent visit I went in looking for a pair of spikes to use for track, and one of the staff members actually ran track in their earlier days. I thought that it was cool, and helpful because they knew exactly what I needed, and even recommended the best brands. They ended up helping me find the perfect running spikes for me, and for my event. After the staff member had helped me find my shoe they helped find the right spikes as well. I've had nothing but good experiences with Al's. I love the store. I have bought paddle boards, basketball shoes, GoPro accessories, a backpack, a bluetooth speaker, ear buds, a watch, sunglasses, tee shirts, workout shorts, winter gloves...and the list goes on. I have gotten great deals on everything that I have purchased at Al's. People complain about their prices being too high, and I used to be one of them, but if you go during any of their sales you can get amazing deals. I'm a cheapskate and do my research before making pretty much any purchase, so I know for a fact that what I have bought at Al's was a better deal than anywhere on the internet. The customer service that I have received has been great too. I bought a new GoPro before going on vacation (which was waaaay cheaper at Al's than any price I've seen anywhere to this day, online or in other stores), tested it our right away when I got home, and it was clear that something was off. It would just freeze up and then turn off. I tried everything. I realized that it was just a straight-up dud. I took it back to Al's, and was actually kind of annoyed going into it because I expected that they would make me ship it back to GoPro myself and wait for a new one to come in and I would be left without a GoPro on my vacation. One of the managers came to the front of the store, listened to my explanation of what it was doing, and surprisingly, gave me a brand new GoPro on-the-spot and said they would take care of the product return with GoPro. I didn't have to do anything else. They even emailed me to follow-up to make sure that the new GoPro didn't have any problems. Wow, let me tell you, just wow. Al's Sporting Goods is absolutely incredible company and I highly recommend everyone to shop with them. I have never written a review ever, but I wanted to write this review so other people can experience this amazing company. I am from the east coast so I actually never gotten the opportunity of hearing about Al's. I used to only be exposed to Dick's Sporting Goods but I got so fed up after years of shopping there with their high prices and a lack of lowered prices. Al's Sports sold me a Camelbak backpack for $20. less than Amazon. I had never bought anything from Al's before and looked at reviews. I'm convinced the one star reviews are paid negative reviews. Al's shipped my backpack in about 12 hours and it was in my hands within 4 business days. I have since ordered from them two more times with the same great pricing and outstanding service. When I called Al's to thank them for their service, I learned they are an 80 year old family run business with two large locations in Utah. Additionally, when I called them, Al's staff were not only polite, but they still delivered that small business feel... even on the phone. read more

So, I read the reviews and was a little leery of ordering from them because of some of the negative reviews on here and because the sunglasses I wanted come in two colors that are very closely related and I wanted to make sure I would get the correct ones. So, I called the Idaho store. Zeke answered the phone and was amazing! He found the item I wanted to order, found the other glasses that were similar color so he knew which were the ones I wanted, waited on the phone while I ordered it on line, looked up the order number, and took it for packaging to be mailed. I placed an online order on Tuesday night. I called on Wednesday to ensure my order would arrive on time because I had a deadline. The CSR said she would try to expedite my order, which arrived on Friday. Now I have ten Field Hockey players who are thrilled to raise money for Breast Cancer research wearing their pink socks from Al's at their field hockey fundraiser game this Wednesday. My husband and son were planning a backpacking trip with a local scout troop, we went to Al's to get their gear. We were SO dang lucky to get Nicholas Walker as our associate...he knew EVERYTHING about everything. Literally. Excellent store if you are willing to pay the money. They have a huge selection and are building a new building on Main Street. If you know what you want and are willing to pay the price they will likely have it. On the very pricey items like snowboarding pants we went there and found a great pair for my wife but it was like $200. While we were in the store we looked on Amazon and paid half as much. Purchased the Flash Sale KXONE SUP - and used it today. Everything was in the box, and set up was pretty easy. Would have appreciated directions but YouTube videos of SUP inflation were helpful. The board is incredibly light (important since Bear Lake is down and it is a long walk to the water) and felt stable in the water. Not as responsive as a hard board but more convenient when carrying. Al's has great prices and a good variety of sporting goods. I've bought everything from guns, to bikes, to rock climbing gear here. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, great prices (especially when they have sales), price matching, and to top it all off, a great bike shop for repairs. A little bit of everything, but not a lot of one thing, and not a wide variety in quality either of that one thing. Service has been good in my few stops by. If you wait for sales, or fill out their marketing cards, you can usually get an additional 10 to 15% off your purchase, and save some extra money.

They bully employees in front of customers even if the customers threaten to go to the state about, they refuse to put out chairs for cashiers that have arthritis or any other medical problem. They will purposely under staff the teams during Saturdays and refuse to help out when we get slammed fully knowing Saturdays are our busiest day of the week. They make fun of customers who don't speak English like it's their fault for not speaking English and found it absolutely insulting to have to translate everything back into the customer's language. To the awfull managers Dave, Natalie, Matt, Chris, and Pajmeena I hope you know how much I hate you, you made my life hell while working there especially you Matt. I will continue to say what I experienced while working for you.

That's actually why I stopped in during their winter sale to grab some new socks. On top of the sock rack, there was a sign that clearly said "socks 50% off" with no fine print or conditions. But when I got to the counter, the employee told me the socks weren't part of the sale. I pointed out the sign, and instead of acknowledging the issue or offering any kind of apology, he just dismissed it and didn't seem to care at all. It felt unprofessional and honestly pretty disrespectful. I ended up pity-buying one pair instead of the two I planned on, but I'm now planning to return them. I left the store feeling misled and frustrated. If you're going in hoping for a sale, don't trust the signs without double, or triple-checking. This really should be a one-star review, but I'm giving it two stars only because of my previously good experiences here.
