If I could give this place a negative star rating I would. I am a former employee of this useless disgusting establishment where I was treated like garbage from day one and was fired illegally ( which they do on a regular basis ). they treat their people of color employees and non Mormon employees like they aren't even people. The value of the stuff they put out on the sales floor is absolute garbage compared to the stuff they throw away, they throw away over half of the donations they receive so don't even bother donating to them. they hardly have any selection that isn't Mormon approved or just is a Mormon product, I can't tell you how many good things I had to throw away because It didn't fit the Mormon image. They bully employees in front of customers even if the customers threaten to go to the state about, they refuse to put out chairs for cashiers that have arthritis or any other medical problem. They will purposely under staff the teams during Saturdays and refuse to help out when we get slammed fully knowing Saturdays are our busiest day of the week. They make fun of customers who don't speak English like it's their fault for not speaking English and found it absolutely insulting to have to translate everything back into the customer's language. To the awfull managers Dave, Natalie, Matt, Chris, and Pajmeena I hope you know how much I hate you, you made my life hell while working there especially you Matt. I will continue to say what I experienced while working for you. read more

I think the DI is a great place to buy things, but i was horrified when I took several boxes in to donate a few weeks ago. i watched an employee dump out a box I brought in with a nice wooden jewelry box, glassware, and some china carelessly into another box. I'm reconsidering any further donations, which is a real pain since we are seriously downsizing our home. This is Utah though, and the DI has no competition! read more

This isn't my favorite DI ever, but it's the most decent thrift store we've got in Cache Valley. I've found a few treasures, but none of my best stuff has come from here. Yet. Okay, once I got an unopened Darth Vader costume for my dog. That was pretty amazing. Also this old painting of the church presidents, up to David O. McKay, posing together in the temple? So weirdly delightful. And a complete mahjong set that looks to be straight from China. And Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, just in time for Harry Potter Month. Okay, so I guess I've done pretty well here. The problem is that my hunger for bizarre crap is never satiated by the time I'm done shopping. They need a bigger store! read more

This review only has to do with the donation drop-off scheduling. I scheduled my drop-off about two weeks in advance due to travel. However, now that I've returned, I'm not sure if I scheduled Aug 13th or the 14th. My problem is that I don't see a way in the website to check which date/time I scheduled. When I click on these two dates, it just shows as SOLD OUT but I don't see how to check if it's my name for one or the other date/time. read more

The DI is always going to be hit and miss due to the nature of the business. They depend on donations and that depends on people willing to give away their stuff for free when it still has value. All things being equal, I tend to find better deals at the DI than the other thrift store chains, or theft store chains, as it were. The yard area is where the magic happens but you can really fill your cart if you're a digger and don't ignore other areas of the store. I wish that the book section was better organized, and pricing can fluctuate between stores. DVDs can be $1-$2 at one store but $3 at another. What gives? Some locations are also doing the overvalued brand name jeans thing, where they jack the price up just because of the brand even if the style is 10 years old. Stop this madness! Also, because of the low prices and good deals, each store has a group of pickers who frequent that store. They have a couple carts set aside and just fill them throughout the day as they bring out new merchandise. I really wish management would crack down on this because these folks can be aggressive and will push you out of the way to get what they want. Due to the sheer volume of donations, I wish the DI would open a warehouse where they can sell the stuff that doesn't make it into the stores by the pound. The Goodwill does this and it's so much fun digging through endless bins looking for those overlooked treasures that you can get for pennies. read more

Most Deseret Industries are pretty standard and once you've been to one you know what to expect from them all. The thing that ruined my experience today was the extremely irritating choice of music that was playing WAY TOO loud over the speaker system giving me a headache in about three minutes. read more

Obviously depending on the day they have a really good selection. They have good prices even though they got up for free and it would be nice if they were a little lower on certain things. The people are very friendly and helpful. The only problem I have is I just feel dirty when I leave! I've got to go home and wash my hands and take a shower. I'm not a germaphobe or a neat freak I owned a dirty farm I have no problem getting dirty some working it just feels like a dirty place kind of grimy. If you decide that you want something and it appears to be not taken- it's free game right? No, sometimes not. Someone might have "set it down" for a second. That mentality doesn't work in thrifting- it is more like snooze you lose. Besides crazy thrifters you can get some serious deals here. Boots for $5, books for 85 cents or so. Bags for like a dollar. Don't be suckered into buying from the glass cases either- half the "ouis vuitton bags I saw in the there were fake, while a real wallet was on the floor. Crazy!! Watch out for those deals and you can come away a happy camper. Wish there was a DI here in San Jose, the one in Sac is not close enough!! read more

I like DI purpose, I had one man who is deaf that works there, who was super kind and helpful but I've noticed that management and employees don't treat their Deaf employees very well, but other employees are treated fine. Makes me wonder if the management and employees realize that customers do notice how they treat people. I have alot of respect for that deaf employee who does his job well. read more

You can find almost anything at this thrift store. They have used furniture, clothes, books, electronics, and kitchen stuff. The staff are usually pretty helpful. The building also included a job office where people can find new jobs. They also provide free job classes and they will help you put together a resume. read more

Great deals! I read a bad yelp review about this place and decided to check it out anyway. I am trying to furnish a midcentury house with some vintage pieces. I found an amazing Sputnik lamp for only $4 and as an extra bonus outfitted myself with some 90s skis, boots, and poles for $13 total! They had a lot of furniture too. The only downside was how busy the place was but it was big and worth fighting the crowd. read more

This thrift store needs to get its act together. First off, they sell womens two piece swim suits without mates.(top w/o bottoms & bottoms w/o tops) secondly all they have are womens belts and none for men. Very unorganized. Shop WalMart instead. read more
