Not a thing wrong with our experience! Cheap beer, good food, friendly service A little concerned from previous reviews, we were hesitant to try Al's. But being right near our house we finally tried it out. Brought the dog and sat on the porch. The non smoking section was nice! Big tables, fans, tvs and not over bearing music made it nice. Our server came out to us promptly and greeted the dog with a back scratch and bucket of water for him! The beer was cold and cheap, the food was very reasonably priced and the menu had tons of variety. Surely something for most everyone. Our server (Samantha I believe) was very nice, attentive and overall great. The manager stopped by towards the end of the meal to see how we were and pet the dog. The food (wings!) Was great as well! Big wings, great sauce, zero complaints. Will be back! And will recommend. We've been looking for a close by, "neighborhood" bar and grill, and the others in close proximity just haven't been great. Best wings in town!!! Pretty diverse menu but just keep coming back for the wings, traditional buffalo hot has heat but not over powering. Have had the cal-zone which was good also. My son likes the spaghetti and meatballs. Seems like beer prices have edged up a bit but that seems to be the case at most places. Hope to visit again soon. read more

You cant go wrong with Al's! If you want just a normal not fancy neighborhood bar serving you GOOD bar food, this is your place. Pricing is very fair too. And good service. All the waitresses know what they're doing and you will be taken care of! Plenty of seating, a big bar, there's some outside seating too. And good entertainment from a DJ or band from time to time. I had the Alfredo sauce cheese raviolis last time, it was the best Alfredo sauce I've ever had in my life. I usually visit restaurants three times before I review it and I've been there 8 times this month and I absolutely love it (primarily pertains to the food). The downside labout it would be the small space. It's almost always crowded and the wait can be long and they have $0.50 wing night on Thursdays but you can't take home left overs those nights; you have to eat them there or they get wasted which can be a bummer. The service is hit or miss sometimes; but probably more of a miss. Als, I mean what can you say. Best wings around, period. Have had the same employees for over a decade, that should tell you something. The burgers are amazing, and the sky is the limit on what you can add to them, or just look at the menu and see how creative they are. Special for the day was two Brats and a side. I needed something that wouldn't take long so I asked the waitress for something quick. She said Brats would be quick. Sides, asked about the Mac n cheese and discovered it was Kraft. Ordered Brats and Pasta Salad. Brats were Luke warm, buns far from fresh and if they had warmed them at least they might have been acceptable. Kraut was tasteless and had obviously been soaking way to long. Worst part, the Brats!! I love AL's wings, food and service in general. We have been regulars for a few years. The only issue we have is with of all things, music. My husband and I have played music, spent money on the jukebox, only to have our selection bypassed by the owner and her entourage. No we didn't get reimbursed $10 multiple times when this occurs. We were apparently supposed to submit, join hands with the regulars and commiserate listening to music that was from before most of us were born and screw whatever money we spent to play what we desired. Isn't that why establishments have jukeboxes in the first place???? What happened to keeping customers happy, comfortable and coming back? Funny, when the music changes to the owners playlist, everyone starts leaving. They understand. It is likely a daily occurrence. Too bad the owner does not. I wanted to chill and enjoy a light meal at the bar, as there weren't any patrons in the seating area. I changed my order to "TO GO" after a terribly obnoxious, inebriated guy picked up a bar stool over his head the walked through the place. Not one person who worked there (two bartenders and the kitchen staff) said a word. The 5 other folks with him were drunk and disrespectful of any one else there. The food was just okay...about a 3 out of 10, but for the staff not to ask this guy to leave, knowing full well that his behavior was turning away what could be a long term customer was the worst. I would leave ZERO stars if it was an option. We stood at the door for 5 minutes while a woman walked back and forth waiting tables and NEVER acknowledged us. The sign said "seat yourself" which would be fine if the 4 open tables had been bussed. We watched a couple leave and so we decided to bus their table so we could sit. We sat there for 10 more minutes while we waited I watched the waitress bus a table near us rather than asking us if she could wait on us. When my husband got up to ask for service the waitress was SO RUDE to him. She started shouting at him after he pointed out to her that she was bussing a table as a priority instead of waiting on customers. She began by telling him she was the manager, THE MANAGER!!!! I visited my Daughter in the Charlotte, NC area on 5/10/2017. She had a Doctor's appointment near Al's Bar and Grille and we decided to eat here. My Daughter called when we got near there to ask if they had food for a 3 year old and they said yes. I asked for coffee, with cream and sugar, as there was NO sugar on the table. We also asked for a booster seat for her Daughter. It took more than 15 minutes to get the cream, sugar and the booster seat, with my Daughter having to get up and go find our waitress, Kelly, to again ask for the booster seat. Kelly took the order of the men just seated next to us before she took our order. I guess if we had been MEN she might have taken our order more seriously. This place apparently lacked with the number of servers needed to properly get customers served in a proper time frame. Our waitress brought me another cup of coffee, without first asking. I did not want anymore of that nasty tasting coffee, so it was a wasted trip for her and a wasted cup of coffee for the business. Our waitress, Kelly, might have been able to do a better job, had there been more servers available. I would not recommend this place. read more
